    They couldn't.

As far as I know if you're a vigilante you can not run any villainside content aside from paper missions. All the contacts just shoo you away because you're a hero.
  2. That's technically impossible, since you get a huge popup window saying "CALVIN SCOTT HAS CONTACTED YOU, YOU SHOULD CALL HIM" when you level up to 4.

And from there he sends you to another contact, which will start a chain of events that will lead you to at least level 14, where you'll need to either find the next contact or get to level 15 for calvin to introduce you to the next.
  3. It wasn't any of that. We were doing missions in sharkhead isle, and when we finished the mission I checked my tips tab to see if I got any more, and they were all gone.
  4. This is an odd occurrence, but I was in a mission team with a few people and racked up 3 tips for my character, but then after awhile after we completed another mission all my tips disappeared entirely.

Has anyone else experienced this; their hard earned tips vanishing into thin air?

Is it just a UI bug or is something very wrong?

edit: or maybe they're timed and I'm just stupid?
  5. Not working for me. Still stuck on Connection #1

Been that way all day and last night.

    Test Server Down

Test server still down? Can't connect >_>
  7. Willpower is godly.

You can outheal most attacks, and you also have some defense and resistances to help soften blows.

Whereas with Super Reflexes, you're pretty much stuck with either dodging an attack or being hit for 100% of the damage, with no way to heal yourself outside of Aid Self
  8. Personally, if that person was in a previous SG with you and was wasting prestige, not RPing (If it was a RP group), being annoying etc and got kicked out because of it, and the leader even TOLD YOU what the person was doing, I would have done this:

    Never even invited the person

But since that's not an option, heres what you should have known from what you've explained to us:

    This person wastes prestige
    This person doesn't RP
This person is annoying and nobody likes him/her.

One: Set up permissions so only certain ranks and above can edit the base/purchase stuff (solves the prestige issue)

Two: Make a non-RP group (solves the no RP issue)

Three: Nothing can really be done if no matter what that person does, nobody likes him/her.

But yes, the easiest solution would have been to take a hint from your previous group leader and not have invited the person in the first place. Sometimes being kind is a downfall.

    That quoted line should read:

  10. Hiya forum goers! I played an elec/elec brute up to about 30 a while ago, and found it to be pretty durable. Looking at the numbers ingame now, Elec can boost it's energy resistance to about 60%, give or take a few, while smash/lethal, neg energy, and fire/cold sit around 25%

And now elec armor even has a self heal! When I was on my brute, I had to take aid self for a heal, but now I can just take it directly from the set! Nice.

Would this combo be good to go for? I doubt I'd be able to get myself super IO'd out anytime soon, so I'd be stuck with either regular SOs or IOs for awhile.

Or would elec/SD be better in the long run? Keep in mind I'm not insanely rich (as in, I barely have 30million across my heroside characters) so getting massive amounts of set IOs isn't very feasible at the present.

    new power set ?

You guys are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy too hopeful.

It's just a special set that praetorian NPCs get. Like you've never seen those before?

It's not just for turning a stun into a hold...

You change 30% of your attack damage into cold/fire/toxic damage, meaning you can get by lethal resistance a little tiny bit. You also replace regular ammo's knockback and -def with either -movement/attack speed, a crappy DoT, or a -damage debuff.

I'm sure your team will thank you for using a special ammo type and not knockbacking every mob you hit with bullet rain/hail of bullets all the time :P

I ran a DP on test and was underwhelmed with it on the blaster, but I like the idea of these 2 together and imagine there is some Masochist (maybe trickshooter) whose run one of these.

I know it would be very clicky but is it a fun ride?
You can ignite your own oil slick arrow with incendiary rounds

I don't know how it'll work out personally, but I ran a team with one and it seemed to work out well. Just have to get used to having to redraw weapons a LOT
  15. Virtue isn't as bad as everyone says. It's just kind of our slogan to bash pocket D because of all the ERP.
  16. I'll start with BU + AS. Then I'll scrap things until they're dead.

On teams, I'mm BU AS, and scrap until AS is recharged. Then if theres still a boss or something, I'll placate AS, then scrap.

But what I DON'T do is BU, AS, Placate, run and hide until AS/placate is recharged, run in, AS, placate, run, etc.

    SO I'm doing it wrong?

Sure we've been going for a long time without much craziness, but we still do have some difficult and challenging content. Large numbers of enemies seen in the Mothership Raid is challenging. Big tough AVs with lots of enemies around is challenging, like in the LGTF. LRSF with a big group of AVs is challenging. ITF battle is hardcore. Reichsman battle is tough. Hamidon is tough. Yeah, not everything should be totally off the wall, but if all the content is the same non-challenging content, the game would get boring for a lot of people.

For an encounter designed for 2-3 teams, you need something to pose a threat or else he's just a big sack of HP. It's not based on huge spawns of ambushes or multiple simultaneous AVs/GMs. If the devs really wanted their NPCs to win they could just load him up with autohits and stuff. They don't want him to win, they just don't want him to fold over like a house of cards.

The way you make it sound, people would prefer he just stood there and didn't do anything. And without any gimmicks or new mechanics, that's pretty much what he'd be doing when it's 20+ people against one GM.

Again, I don't really like the gimmicks they came up with, but I like that they're trying to do something different.
Theres a difference between challenge and cheap. Hard and Fake Difficulty.

Mag 100 holds and the like are cheap and fake difficulty.

Challenge and Hard are something you can overcome, even though it's Challenging and Hard, who would have thought? Mag 100 holds are something you can NOT EVER overcome, theres no possible way. Hence fake difficulty/cheap.
  20. Fits my ninja type character quite well. Was going the travel power-less route on her too, so it's a much welcome movement ability
  21. doubt it. Everyones too busy with their AE farms.
  22. I thought this thread was about how close I16 was, not let's bash CO?

    Ultralite RP?

The only bad thing about the whole "go with the flow" style RP is text fights. Where the other person has it in their mind that their character is somehow so powerful that they're above the rules of DJ Zero. Or they're as powerful as every single superhero/villain in existance combined, and then some.

That's why text fighting is stupid, though.

    Ultralite RP?

I also just "go with the flow" with RP. You won't see me talking to people beforehand to work on exactly how an RP is going to happen. I just do it.

Only difference is you'll probably never see me talk OOC ((unless it's like this))

What is the best way to use Assassin's Strike
Stab someone with it from hide.

I usually BU + AS the biggest threat first (boss of a group, or lt. of a group if no bosses) then scrap it out. Of course, I also mainly solo because nobody groups outside of AE anymore, so placate is useless when everything is focused on you.
