Just don't leave out Siphon Speed. The slow effect is wonderfull in PvP.
-
Please don't skip deceive, it's a wonderfull power.
Ill/kin trollers get little aggro: their only direct attacks are spectral wounds and blind. I haven't had any real status-issues on my ill/kin.
With my playstyle I get little aggro, mainly my pets get it and I'm mostly in the buffing/debuffing process.
Watch out with flash though, it can generate a lot of aggro, but when used wise it's a very strong power. -
Well, speaking of support (not control), Illusion/* can give a lot of support because in the primary there are these nice fire and forget powers so you only have like erhhhh 1 hold and a confuse and one mass hold which takes ages to recharge.
So you've got a lot of time to apply buffs debufs heals etc. from your secondary.
Ohw yeah one thing: be sure to have the pets window active so you can dismiss em fast if they wander too far away.
"/bind m release_pets" may also be handy. -
So I want to do the first respec mission.
My lvl 26 controller wants to see where he's at.
Who will join?
12:00 pm gmt so we can get a good start on a day of CoH.

Inertial reduction is not the same as SJ, it costs less endurance in the end AND isn't suppressed. Giving out people SJ is much appreciated because it's mostly a faster travel way.
SJ also cost one extra power. If you plan on taking CJ or the other one I'd say SJ is better. If you don't plan on taking CJ you can take inertial reduction and have another power-choice. -
The problem is this: A big portion of the population likes healers (empaths) alot more then other defender types.
I think that is ignorant.
Statements against that attitude are against that attitude not against the empath power set. -
I've lvl-ed my /kin without taking a travelpower. Make sure to slot Siphon Speed with accuracy and you can draw it of higher lvl foes and rarely miss against lower or even lvl foes.
Inertial reduction always comes back before it's worn off with just one recharge reduction. If you activate a new application at the top of a jump the animation will be finished before you hit the ground and you'll be non-stop jumping. -
-
Sorry, won't join synapse.
Positron was great last night but no more playing the empath for mehI've done enough healing for a month, no two months. It was very fun though. Good players a nice pace in the missions and 4 and a half hours from begin to end wasn't a bad time.
I also had a good laugh at the chat although there wasnt much time for me to also chat during missions. (And I was sleepy today at work.)
Thanks for letting me join. -
I don't like repel very much, because I haven't mastered it yet. In my opinion you could drop it and whirlwind and superspeed in favour of siphon speed. As you have inertial reduction allready as a travel power. I would take 3-slotted swift it's very good to always have a nice pace.
You might wanne try it out on test, with and without stamina, see what suits you best. -
I don't think there's a best scrapper, and have only played a Broadsword/Superreflexes.
I do love playing him. Superreflexes is tight though, you will need all of your secondary powers or else you will fall, fall and fall again. That means you'll have to miss out on some attacks. Stamina you definately need because it's quite endurance heavy. And.....always carry some purple inspirations and some green ones. 1 purple pill can in later lvl max your defense easily. And depending on how the fight is going parry alot. Or if you're not getting much aggro just use your heave attacks.
A good SR is a thrill to play, you know you won't be hit much, but when you're hit it's gona hurt..........alot. (rikti bosses taking 60%of my health with one shot). But you mostly have time between hits to swallow a green pill.
And offcourse at lvl 38, elude, take it love it and use it alot. -

-Dispersion bubble can cause a bubbler to attrack much aggro.
[/ QUOTE ]....dispersion bubble is a PBAoE +def buff, which causes no aggro...
[/ QUOTE ]
Did I go wrong on this one? The other day I teamed with a Force Field defender. (and I love to be on the receiving end of bubbles) During our teaming he got this bubble. And after that he went down alot more times then before. Maybee it was Repulsion Field instead but I can remember seeing the green shield buff in my buff-tray. -

...go nuts at people who only level one toon ... when they interact badly.
[/ QUOTE ]
So in a hypothetical situation where a newcomer to the game, who's playing their first character (a tank), is in the same team as you (also on a tank) you wouldn't give them any benefit of the doubt and would instead "go nuts" at them if they didn't meet your requirements for how a tank should be played?
[/ QUOTE ]
I normally don't go nuts at people. But I've come around some very irritating people in my 20s who tried to run the show but didn't have a clue of how other ATs worked. And if you asked a little further alot of those nitwits were on their first toon. I pay people all the respect they deserve but sometimes you're talking against a wall.
-Why do blasters always want to open the fight? Be it a snipe or an AoE attack.
-Phantom Army can cause more destruction then it does good.
-Dimension Shift anybody? Why am I hitting nothing?
-A scrapper is not a tank.
-A runner with rad auras causes alot of aggro.
-Dispersion bubble can cause a bubbler to attrack much aggro.
-Please another Hurricane on my tightly packed group of enemies.
-And who oh who invented pulling?
Some general annoyances. -

...however I disagree with the faster you die the better you play...
[/ QUOTE ]
I didn't mean to say faster but firster What I meant was: as long as you're alive everyone should also be alive. Ideally noone should faceplant. But I like to play it at hard difficulty so occasionally you run into something you can't cope with. (If you and your team never faceplant you're playing at a too easy level.)
And as a tank it's real easy to be the last man standing. I only try to point out that when that happens you've done something wrong.
(peasant with sword is currently stuck at lvl 37, I've gotten a little bored with him) -
Playing a tanker upto 22 now and having had much fun some things wonder me.
As a tanker you can easily be the teamleader everyone listens, haven't had that on my other toons.
You get into groups very easily because groups can do without every AT, but they always feel they need a tanker.
If you're playing well you're always the first to go down the better you play the firster you go
And last: I've found it very hard to play with another tanker on the team.(and even harder with two other) It always seems to get messy and chaotic. How do you guys do that? Do you make choices as for whom to be the Major or Minor tank? Or maybe one tank with and one without taunt aura? Or something else? Isn't a second or third tank on a team just an underpowered scrapper? -
I don't understand not taking hasten, this will hurt your DPS more than not slotting parry for damage. Sure you will run out of end sometimes, but that's when you realise you don't have to run all your toggles all the time.
Disembowel and head splitter work as control powers with knockback/knockdown with which you can probably take a strong boss out of the fight lying on his back.
My chain Head Splitter->Parry->Disembowel->Parry, repeat.
I chose to go the superspeed route, with parry your defense will be max and you will floor the tohit af any foes. If you do 3 slot hurdle and slot sprint for jump though.
BS/SR is very tight, because you problably have to take all the powers in your secondary set. So the choices are limited. -
And if you really have the guts: here's something about Bios hot-swapping.
And a very comprehensive page on updating your Bios and what can go wrong. -

And another thing, remember that there are a lot non-native English speakers here. If your main source of knowledge of a language are movies and MTV, you can be just plain rude and not even know it yourself. My brother went to the States and he thought he knew Englsih, was he in for a surprise. Words like hell the F-word and God were so much stronger then what he thought at first. -
Be carefull with upgrading.
Might be a shot in the dark BUT do you have a big-enough powersupply? Modern computers need a lot of power and a big new graphics card can be just the thing that takes it over the edge. And if your powersupply can't deliver that which is asked from it weird things can happen. Strange computerproblems were solved by upgrading the powersupply. AND if you're gona change you mainboard you might run into problems again if your powersupply isn't big enough.
(DELL is notorious for delivering small powersupply units, you won't have any trouble, until you decide to upgrade.)
(removing the battery does clear the bios settings, the actual "bios-program" is loaded in an erasable and reprogrammable rom) -
Can't an illusion bubbler with personal force field get PA's in place or is pff not good enough?
-
Looks like a fun event, I'll be practicing in the Hollows and will try to be there, for I think it can be loads of fun.
On the other hand, you're inviting people to sign up for something for which you can't see the rules directly and don't know when it is, only thing you see is a map. (why is the checkered flag at the start and not the finish?) And I don't really like signing up for yet another board.
I think this thread deserves a restart in which more info is given and maybe another way to sign up and a definate date. When I know that I'll buz it around to my friends in CoH and try to get them to join. (I'm always bragging how fast I get to the mission door and am always the first, so I really can't not participate)
And in the new thread, please let's discuss tactics and what the race is gona be about and who thinks he's the fastest and not all these sidethings, that really don't bring anything good. I really hate it when a thread goes on and on with people simply stating the things they said previously over and over. -
And in the end we're all using the train. super speed, super jump, fly or teleport, all are the same for the train :P
Playing a kinetic controller with as only travel power siphon speed (which regularly misses if travelling through zones with higher lvl foes) till 28 I've learned you can get by. The time spent travelling to a mission, even if it is 5 minutes is just a small amount from the time spent in missions. And be fast, when other people are still deciding what to do or waiting to exit a mission, make sure you're allready on your way to the trainstation. -
[ QUOTE ]
You can enable it in Options and keep it up as a separate panel. It shows HP/enduance/buffs for all your pets, and allows you to quickly select them for buffing (but not for issuing commands like MM henches).
[/ QUOTE ]
This was what I needed, thanks alot.
Besides being an altoholic I'm also a bindoholic. So I made the next bind to fast switch the pets window on or off. It is first needed to activate the window in options as described above.
/bind lshift "window_toggle pet"
When you now press leftshift it toggles the viewing of the pets window.
<edit>
Can't stop making binds
/bind numpad9 "pet_select_name phantasm$$powexec_name speed boost"
Press numpad 9 twice to give your phantasm speed boost. I've allready used numpad 1 to 8 to give teammembers speedboost
First press will select phantasm, second press will execute speed boost on the phantasm. -
Is there something I don't know?
Haven't seen a pet window ever. Except in the RV testing event for the turrets.
