  5. I loved nothing more than lvling my tank was very fun for me as i have a tanker mindset when it comes to MMO's so a tank was a natural choice, even in other games like FFXI my elite job was paladin and in SWG i was a Teras Kasi/Swordsman

    No taunt necessary for an AV? what planet are you from m8 gauntlet is rubbish without taunt and AV's will break from gauntlet the second a blaster opens with a barrage of attacks and his face quickly introduced the dirt but answer me this would you team with a tanker on the STF that didn't have taunt?

    lol im sorry but plz take that 'what planet are u from m8' comment back, it says far too much about your life's priorities:P hehehe its posters like you in games that sometimes make me feel depressed at playin MMOs as people then put my in the same stereotype as u:P I'm sure i put alot of 'i think' and 'in my opinion' and the such in my post, too lazy to check as i've just been busy puuting my name down on a Vanquish to check but thats what i meant And every1 chill out, just a game:P sorry if i dont know how all the game mechanics work, i hear taunt i figure 'taunt' same as usual, if not ill realise it sooner or l8er or point it out in a better way. Hi everyone i am attempting to organise a STF for next tuesday we have a few SG members and friends gearing up to do it and we would like to have an available sonic defender but this not being a perfect world we would also appreciate a tank, blaster or defender (either TA or Sonic) this is the team build as it looks now

    1. Empath/Psi Defender
    2. Fire/Rad Controller
    3. Grav/Kin Controller
    4. Spines/Sr Scrapper
    5. Rad/Rad Defender
    6. Ill/Storm Controller
    7. Ill/Emp Controller
    8. Open

    Be aware that these spaces are open to change so we may have more spaces that what is listed here but any interest in joining would be appreciated.
  8. Thank you Cognito, Sinergy and Shannon you have proven my point There are no if's ands or buts about taking taunt in my mind it is there to 'help' your team thats the tanks job use it to it's fullest.

    but wouldn't a trial and a TF have different reward counters?

  11. This arguement is as old as the game itself and will go on until
    A. Players will refuse to team with someone that doesn't fit the bill of what a tanker is(which is unlikely)
    B. somehow somewhere sometime mabye in i77 they made taunt an inherent power for the tank AT(also very unlikely)
    so what do we do? same thing we do with every AT we make the best build that matches our playstyle others may disagree and say X is better than Y but it's like beating a dead horse really.

  13. to work in fitness you need to make sacrifices in most of my respec builds with my invul/em i only have about 4 things from my secondary till after stamina usually the likes of barrage, bone smasher, build up & taunt. everything else in between should be devoted to getting and slotting your primaries and secondaries + stamina and your travel of course

    adding a endurance reduction slot on your attacks and toggles will greatly improve your end usage but only add these when you can afford too
  14. couldn't have put it better myself m8 the invention sets have added a new element of customisation to the AT's that varies for each primary/secondary combo
  15. So far getting the IO's i require is proving difficult as my tank seems to have a non-existent drop rate on rares while my other toons are getting them left right and centre but i plan on doing TF's and Trials to get the rare stuff
  16. Tanker primary sets have seen there fair share of changes in the past 9 issues some good some bad but through it all has it made being a tanker more fun? thats for you to decide.

    but with the advent of inventions each tanker primary has something they can use from the various sets to bolster their inherent abilities or even give them something that they never had in the first place, but this is not for everyone as not everyone agrees that inventions are the answer and i'm saying they are but it can make a tanks life alot more fun and survivable
  17. my lvl 34 Archery/Devices has been a great toon to play with cloaking device + smoke grenade makes you invisible to your enemies allowing you to saunter on in and plant down a mine followed by RoA is often enough to put most mobs down

    yes i understand what your getting at here but taunt being limited to 5 enemies is insane the average mob size on an 8 man team ranges from 10-15+ depending on difficulty setting the taunt aura will maintain a minor aggro on the stragglers a minimal increase in the taunt cap is all i'm asking

Well for the GA/Non-GA Tank most of you guys use teleport as your travel power not all i know but for those that do the Time space manipulation IO for teleport offers a 12% regen bonus for having 2 IO's of that set like i've posted above about the numinas convelesance IO's the potential for +regen is higher with stone as it has a natual +regen with rooted with these in Health, Earths Embrace and Teleport you have the nice little number of 56% +regen with 10% recovery not too shabby me thinks as granites are already tough as nails

It's still early days yet to think about fully kitting out a tank as the market is still pretty flooded with players seeking that all powerful build and willing to pay through the nose for it but for now i'll settle for what drops for me at the end of the TF's it's good doing it with trusted friends as you have more chance of getting something good and knowing they will give it to you without haste

Equiping Numinas Convelesence in the tanker heal and health say 2 heal in each + 1 Recovery/Regen in health if i understand this correctly my tank should have an increase of 24% Regen and 44% with 10% increase in recovery for 120 seconds if so... where does this 120 seconds begin? does it toggle on for 120 seconds inactive for 30 then activates again or can it only be slotted into click powers for better management of the buff?

  24. I want to make a FF defender had many joys with it on my MM my personal opinion would be for this build is why take force bolt so late? i found it to be a great power

For the last 5 or so years me and my comrades have been sharing a server hosted in US we have been allowed to use it for free we never interfere with each other it's just polite and the admin is a sound guy some of your may know them on your travels on other games as they are very diverese they go by Allied Tribal Forces but other clans/guilds are on there aswell i've tried to get my SG TS'd up but they are reluctant to say the least
