  1. A Limerick,

There once was a hero name Rangle
Who felt the world he’d untangle.
    He made many a plot
Some cool some not so hot
and in all denial was his angle.
  2. I know of at least four or five guys that would be interested.
  3. The idea for this came from the game’s conceit that we are “arresting” the villains. My main is a broadsword scrapper. How exactly do I arrest someone non-lethally with a head-splitter or disembowel?
    Anyway here are the answers.
    1. Fire
    2. Mental Blast
    3. War Mace, Mace Mastery
    4. Titan Weapons (blunt trauma versions), or (after consulting with the other scorers) Super Strength.
    5. Electric Melee, or Blast.
    6. Broadsword, Titan Weapon (sharp edged versions)
    7. Claws, Duel Blades
    8. Ice
    9. Beast Mastery
    10. Grav

I also tried to come up with images for some of the negative energy powers, but couldn’t think of any. Anyone have any ideas?
  4. I thought some people might enjoy this. I hope it doesn't come across as too lame. Feel free to to take the quiz or add your own "images".

    PPD Textbook Quiz
Chapter 13: How to identify a Supers Powerset.
    Section 1: Physical evidence

Below are images showing the physical state wanted criminals were turned in to PPD stations throughout Paragon City. Study each image closely and see if you can identify the hero power set used to apprehend each perpetrator.(You will have to imagine these descriptions are images)

Image one: A pile of ash with what looks like a mask lying on top.
Image two: An Outsider on his back staring blankly into space and drooling.
Image three: A Troll with his head bashed in so that it resembles an accordion
Image Four: A Troll with his entire body bashed in so that it resembles an accordion
Image Five: A Warrior with his skin and clothes severely scorched and his hair sticking straight out from his head.
Image Six: A Hellion chopped into two large parts.
Image Seven: A Hellion chopped into numerous small parts.
Image Eight: One of the Lost frozen in a block of Ice
Image Nine: A Tsoo with countless bee stings, several bird bites, and a large growling wolf jaws still locked on to the perpetrator’s butt.
Image Ten: A Freak imbedded in the middle of a large role of pink insulation.
  5. Anyone know what this error means? Since I 19 I can't start the game outside of safe mode without getting this error message.

    File: texture_library/GUI/Icons/Powers/IceBlast_Buildup.texture
Last Author/Status:Perforce.cpp failed to connect to Perforce.

    GETTEX running or Bad Texture

Also, is there anyway to start in Safe Mode using if you have the updated installer?

    TP FOE!!!

Shh, to many of you are revealing there are multiple ways out of the bases. Keep it hush, hush.
  7. I know how you feel it was my first tour and I was sent three months after getting married. I took German in high school, Spainish in college, and they sent me to Korea.

I imagine you can connect there as well as anywhere else. Might depend a little on where your stationed in Korea but that's just a guess on my part.

Korea can be a neat place, but get away from the "ville" and see the real country.

Not really... fiteklubbing is nothing more than button mashing. There really is no skill involved - if the other person's got a better build, they'll win.

    Also...

    Just for my education...

Is fight clubbing the term used for dueling in PvP zones, or does it include all fighting in the zones?
  9. That's what I was thinking, but another meaning is Quit F*** Talking. Just curious which he meant towards me.

As far as complaining about stalker triple and quadruple teams, I never complain about them until the stalkers start complaining about heroes setting up stalker trap.. I mean defenses around heavies and pill boxes.

Now to read the rest of this.

Just curious, what was it I said that ticked you off? Or am I misunderstanding QFT?

    New PVP zone

Seems like a pre I13 zone would take care of alot of complaints. Not that I was around pre I13.
  12. I have a hard time just watching a hero die, but at the same time I don't want to steal kill. I generally watch for awhile. If the player is low level, they're health is dropping fast, and its obvious they're in over their head I help. If Im on a defender or controller I help without killing. If Im on my scrapper I kill just enough to even the odds. If I see the player took on a mob that's purple to him and out numbers him ten to one, I sit back and enjoy the splat.

To be honest, I probably should just ignore the first situation altogether unless asked to help.
  13. I once had a stalker demand I stop using my fly power and duel properly. I was thinking "Duel? If you have to set up an organized duel before you fight here why does the game warn you before you enter the zone?" I told him I'd drop my fly when he dropped his stealth. Oh, and the whole reason we ran into each other is because my MA/SR had a high enough perception rating to see him base camping in the towers near the helicopter in Bloody Bay. Yes, I'll trust you now in a duel.

As a disclaimer I do duel in zones when asked, but I really wouldn't be put out if someone decided to attack me while I did it. Like I said, there's a warning before you enter.

    TP FOE!!!

To put it another way we go to where the vils will stand and fight us. Sometimes that's pretty close to the base. I should also point out that I got droned partly because i chased someone to close the base who was running for cover.

I'm curious, maybe some of you veterans could tell me. How close do you need to get to a base to be considered base camping?
  15. [ QUOTE ]
Stalkers are ridiculous in hide because they are godawful out of it. Fair enough.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yep. You said it much more concisely than I did.

I don't mean this as knock, but it seems like stalkers are a contrast of extremes. You either win quickly, die quickly, or run.

Also, I don't think stalkers can 1v1 WP scrappers or tanks either, but then I'm learning new things all the time about what can and cannot be done with different builds. I was introduced to EN drain builds last month. Not fun.
  16. Percival

    TP FOE!!!

Or base camp just out of TP range.

Actually, I don't know that what we are doing is base camping in the stricktest sense of the term. We don't just start out at the base and blockade it. We usually end up there after having fought the vils back to their base. We pin them for awhile then when its clear they don't have the numbers to break out we move back to the middle. The goal is to fight them, not keep them from entering.
  17. I'm new. I PvP in zones. And I agree with you. It is a pvp zone, not the arena. It's combat. In combat you try to make the situation as lopsided as possible in your favor. If you don't like that set up then the Arena is for you. Which is fine. Each experience has its own fun.

As far as complaining about stalker triple and quadruple teams, I never complain about them until the stalkers start complaining about heroes setting up stalker trap.. I mean defenses around heavies and pill boxes.

Personally, I consider triple and quadraple teams a sign of respect for my toon. It ususally happens to me after I survive a single stalker AS and then reply with a power-up headsplitter, or when I let the single stalker think he's hidden and then interrupt his AS with said power-up headsplitter. Its tough though. Stalkers excel in the zonesand most are more experienced then me. They are built for the PvP zones. To demand a stalker fight a straight up duel without stealth would be like asking a U-boat to surface and fight a battleship in broad day light. Not much challenge there.

Wait what? I TP Foed someone who was camping the base in RV into a drone on Monday night. It gave me the chance to LEAVE the base and fight in a less cornered area.

Are you asking to remove this?

(And I didn't know there was a phase shift with Teleport Foe. Is there really? That's horrible!)

    [/ QUOTE ]
Yes, the group I usually run with have learned to camp just outside of TP foe range. We also tend to mark said TP foe user for immediate elimination if they venture beyond the safety of the drones.

I like TP foe. It adds variety to the OpFor's threat. I've been droned myself, and plan on adding the power to one of my controllers as a team pvp support.

    COH = Rap Music

I prefer playing to early Rush. No, I did not steal the idea from Fry.
  20. Percival

    End game in CoX?

Costume contests. Its all about the costume contests.

( As told to my daughter's lvl 4 when she asked a 50 hanging out in Atlas.)
  21. Oh, It's in Canada.

    My bad. Interesting name.

The University of Guelph did a study that states less than 6% of people who are overweight, are overweight because of a disability. Meaning that the other 94% have a choice. If you make fun of someones new haircut because it is stupid, it is not a low blow. It was their choice and it was a dumb decision.
The same goes for getting fat.

And I say this form the perspective of someone who until recently was 5'8" and 240lbs. (I am now 180 and still consider myself chubby)

    So not a low blow.

  23. I dont know about best, but 8 storm defenders with active hurricanes and spawning tornadoes in the the middle of an ITF would be fun to watch.
