Quote:Well said to those that expect other people to turn off powers or desummon pets and move their annoyance to some one else. It's either abject stupidity or deliberate rudeness on their part. Neither is acceptable.
I am glad I don't have to worry about my WP toons that give less visuals than my toons with auras blazing, or when I SS pass the CAD BM on my way to missions and not worry about my speed cutting out, or using toggles that root like on my ice tank...especially when I am the only one at the market and no one is being affected. -
Eh, just not seeing a pressing need for this. Very interesting on how much you email, but with things like the recent emails lost (and found - thanks GM Lloyd!) makes it sound like the email system is not a robust system.
Over time, well, then it could be another story. -
Quote:Does the game know that? I would venture a guess that code could be put in to recognize who the mail is coming from, easy/hard? No idea. The question is, is it necessary to put those restrictions on self-only mail?
But what about people with dual (or more) accounts? Or a parent that wants to email their kid's acounts? Or the wife to husband? Why can't they enjoy the lack of restrictions?
I made two crafting toons (red/blue) before email. I just used the bins in the SG base, stock up, relog on new toon and get stuff.
So far I have seen in this game that the devs want to limit what we can do in the ways of storage/trading/etc. I can't see them letting up on that (but they may) just so a player can email more. -
Will echo what has been said for Lloyd also. Great job on restoring emails promptly and professionally.

Quote:I clearly read for self buffs. Still not seeing an issue with parity or MM's in general. So what if self buffs is not as great on MM's, unless you show there is an issue or probelm with the performance of MM's overall, and NOT with temp powers which are most certainly not required in this game, then the devs should use their time more wisely. As stated - with self-only buffs. Any other AT can use a self-only buff and it provides what the buff is designed for, as on the label. For a MM you're out of luck. Now I'm not saying this is a catastrophe - MM's have tricks and abilities all of their own, but this is an issue they have.
I'd like it if the devs can fix the issue, but otherwise I'm not going to lose sleep over it!
EDIT -
Just to add some addition thoughts.
My view of MM's is that they are already overpowered, god-like as it is. The other ATs are at a disadvantage to what they can do. Thus things like a self buff not being as effective on MM's compared to other ATs allows for those other ATs to come closer to MM's. I would see this as a way to balance MM's. Also, unless it can be shown that MM's get absolutely 0 benefit from self buffs (as pointed out in the OP), then maybe something should be addressed. I can't see that though.
Additionally, temps like Frenzy and IO set bonuses are not required for this game. Additionally, the PPP's are not required either. I took the shield for my MM's as a placeholder for IOs only. The other powers I don't want for my MM's. -
Wait, are we talking about the same MM's here? They are near god-like already. I have 3 at 50 and can do things my other toons can not remotely do. I am curious where you are finding MM underperforming compared to other ATs and thus lack of parity.

I will be hoping just to be able to log in this weekend. Too much stuff going on.

Great run all around. Interesting techniques for that dodger badge. I guess the third is my favorite. Although, I am more curious on the "non-pet" method. I am sure I would like to try again, but depending on nukes/shivans could be an issue if players don't want to get them or have to fill in from broadcast random players.
Oh well, still a fun time. Grats to all the new Tin Masters... -
Quote:How about the black hole suggestion? (see sig)i also like the idea of being able to unslot individual enhancements by paying a fee. i wouldn't do it as a straight cost per level. Partially because some of the most valuable IOs of a given type are actually the lowest level available. Maybe make the fee ((character level^2)*500)+(enhancement level*2,000) or something similar.

SwellGuy, FWIW, maybe you could PM a dev this thread and see if they will at least discuss via post or reply you can share some of thoughts on Vet reward as they get out longer and longer. Probably won't reveal too much I bet but at least some of the reasoning for future rewards.
-
Quote:That I agree upon. It is like new issues, I see threads that "this" issue has nothing in it and the devs are not putting in new content. I wonder what I35 will be like if it doesn't have a half dozen new zones, numerous new TFs, and 4 new ATs. I mean really...the devs are slacking compared to I28.I have the feeling that virtually every new top-end Vet award that comes out from now on is going to have to run this gauntlet of constructive criticism to "justify itself" as a Vet award instead of some other kind of power.
Quote:When there are a growing number of newer people playing today who have no realistic chance to expect that the game will be around for ANOTHER seven years for them to get these newest awards I tend to think the current Vet system will only become more of a DIS-incentive for the general player base than something positive for the game. -
Ugh...
Some one commented my first thought that the TF of the week will be ran right off and it may get harder to run again later if you miss the first wave.
I know some will be all over this 24/7, and that is great for them. But for me personally, this game is changing in a direction that makes me a little sad. -
Quote:Wow, another 2 inf! This thread is killing me.I think equating a "remote access" ability to a "teleport power" is pretty darn flawed. Let's say your in a mission, and your salvage and recipes has filled. You have to keep deleting things if you want to stay in the mission, or zone (TWICE) and go to the market to unload/post/get (if you don't want potential drops to go to waste). Not leaving your mission and opening up your storage allows for a much faster gaming experience. It's not just QOL, it actually does allow for faster leveling (in real world time) if used to its advantage.
But I digress. It can remain a unique QOL feature as a Vet Reward while offering slightly watered-down versions as purchasable items (like the suggestion I made above).
Any how, I view levelling faster as a very extreme example, and one you can't quantify - 5 min faster? A day, week, etc? If a player is so caught on levelling speed, then drops are the least on their mind. They can farm all they want as a 50.
Also, if a player is so full on inventory, why didn't they sell before the miss or just put stuff on email? If a low level toon gets a great drop like respec recipe, I would think they would delete a generic recipe or email item to make room. And just how often is that really? -
Well for my 2 inf, I am in the /unsigned camp.
The market is optional, and there is a temp power via day job or buy that brings you right to a market. I also feel it will open discussion on buying other vet rewards early. I still feel vet rewards are a thank you from the devs and that money has nothing to do with it, as much as people claim it does. Allowing it to come early goes against that thank you mentality. -
Grats on seeing how Alpha works! It allowed me to move some slots around since it was universal. WAI as far as I can tell, and nothing blah about.
Anyhow, mind showing the data here on insta ambushes that spawn on top of you? That is what inspirations could be used for? What is your diff setting? Standard/baseline or are you maxed out, expecting to survive? IME, ambushes that spawn on you are rare. Maybe it happens all the time for you. I just pop a BF or purp, deal with it (this would be called a challenge in an easy game). Anyhow, not a single support toon or my blaster or my MM's or doms or khelds I have has tough or weave because I can't see why they are needed and consider a waste. -
Happy Birthday GP! A little more gray!!

Quote:That would be crazy like suggesting Nerve Core for boosting acc and hold for my controller or Spirit Radial for boosting rech and heal on my emp def or regen scrapper. I guess my "lowly" support toons don't depend on def, and don't rush in to fights and plan ahead. You know that there are other powers beside defense.... right? That the Alpha Slot wasn't made to turn Support Toons into Tanks? You're controller can't benifit from +recharge? Or End Redux? Or more damage?
Stormy, although nice to see what players would want for incarnate slots, but wouldn't it be more wise for the devs to have actually planned out all the slots in advance so that they are balanced to the new content? I highly doubt they would just go issue to issue, not knowing what to expect. -
Fun time on the Bane last night. Only a few shard drops though and really nothing else. I demand a refund!
-
My standard 99.9999% chance will be there for a second go. If you do WB, I could use an escort, wink wink.
-
Not from the posts by devs on this. If you search, Babs has posted on this topic. With him gone, not sure who took over on this work. Anyhow, it will come when it is ready.
-
Bah, you guys sound like you have a plan now. I can't decide what to focus on or try to slot as much as possible, let alone stock shards and stuff.
