I have tried logging in for Hami raid tonight, but tiscali are blocking me. So it looks like I will not be able to make it tonight I'm afraid.
Paragon Girl -
Last raid we had a Illusion/empath troller who initially insisted on being a healer in the tank taunt team, rather than joining the PA or holding team.
So if they intended to just heal they would have needed their own brawl phase, hehe.
I happened to spot them and Lost persuaded them to join the PA team.
Paragon Girl -
Thank you to every1 who was in the PA drop team in the last raid. It was good to see so many new heroes in the team alongside the regulars and I hope to team with you in the next raid.
Paragon Girl -
A big thank you to everyone who joined and did a good job in the PA team yesterday.
I know work and other real life issues can get in the way but I would be grateful if PA droppers could try and arrive on time and send me a tell as soon as they are in Eden.
The last hami raid formed up quite quickly and it would be good to have the PA team in place ready for when streekz's clearing team is wanting to start this next raid.
Paragon Girl -
Afraid I'm busy then, evenings are usually best for me.
Arachnos Girl -
Signing up Arachnos Girl, lvl 50 Ninja/FF MM. Had 100% success rate when doing RSF with BJB.
Hopefully RSF should be easier now with the AVs having been reduced in lvl.
PS Re: Sucessful strategies. Use vengance before taking on final AVs. Mine has 5 enhancement slots. -
Yes can form up the PA team again. Just hope tiscali sort out their connection problems by then so I don't have to worry about that as well.
Paragon Girl -
As usual happy to sign up & help out. The last raid had a very good sense of community effort, hope this keeps up. You should know by now, Ill/Emp troller.

Did everyone get a Hami-O?

I did (but not one I really wanted).

Thanks for organising this lost_samurai. Hope you enjoyed the experience, you did good. Nice to see such a large turn out with most people being very supportive.
Paragon Girl -
Just a quick post to say I am one of those people experiencing difficulty in connecting in the evenings.
Hopefully this will not get in the way of me attending, but if I'm not there or d/c & don't come back you all know why.
Paragon Girl -
I maybe able to help with citadel TF. Depending on if I am free at the time you want to run it.
Would use Paragon Boy, inv/ice tank. -

Secondly, anyone with experience leading raids, wanna takeover?. Or at least gimme sum pointers, probably best for the community in general if a regen scrapper/PB isnt leading this
.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm sure you will do just fine leading it. Sucess is mainly down to having enough heroes turn up to hold hami and giving the holds long enough to take affect. Having enough good leaders in place at the start of the raid is wot helps it run smoothly.
Would suggest you decide before the raid whether the taunt team goes in part way through the clearing phase or after it. Going in part way through means the PA team can drop lower & drop with more accuracy.
Also a particular difficultly with the last raid was people attacking hami despite being asked not to. With so few public hami raids on Union a number of players don't know how to approach the raid. As such if a number of melee heroes don't leave the area of hami after the clearing phase I would recommend withdrawing the taunt team (after giving warning) in under to force melee toons to leave the area of hami. Therefore, hopefully reducing the attacks on hami during the holding phase.
As usual I'm more than willing to turn up & help.

Hello everyone.
A few months back I rolled a claws/regen scrapper as I'd read good things about the combination. I've played him up to level 10 so far and I'm finding him terribly squishy. I've had to dial down the difficulty on missions twice now and I've been to hospital more times than I can count. It's not a case of neglecting my secondaries though, so far I've taken all the regen powers except Dull Pain which will be next at 12. I just seem to be eating floor much more with this toon than I have with any other so I thought I'd ask the scrapper community, when does regen get good? How long do I need to persevere before I can start getting the villains to eat floor?
The most bizarre thing is that this is not my first /regen and I found my previous one didn't die as much as this. I'll post my build so far if it helps.
Thanks.

It's a good thing that you can't turn up the high difficulty settings straight off. That would put you at risk of the nerf bat.
Most builds can turn up the difficulty setting nicely from lvl 22 if they can afford all SO enhancements. There is no reason not to have all SO at lvl 22 either, even if it is your first toon. Just find a SG that will provide you with the influence there are plenty about.

I generally turn the difficulty up one notch with all my AT's at lvl 1/2 (Tenacious), turn it up again at lvl 12 (Rugged) (DO's) and then up again at 22 (Unyielding?).
Never had an AT that I haven't done this with(since difficulty introduction). I find it challenging and fun (but I don't tear my way through them quickly, admittedly.)
[/ QUOTE ]
Another example, of someone who doesn't try the high difficulty settings till lvl 22, unyielding in this case.
To have turned down the settings at twice means you must have been on at least a medium difficulty setting, rugged. Which I agree is alot easier with DOs rather that at or before lvl 10.

Tri form PB & WS should be alot better after the invention system comes in. Try and save you respecs.
Also my PB is a real killing (cough*defeating) machine when both hasten and conserve power are up. IMO its a big mistake leaving conserve power till 49. Take it asap and love it (when it is up).

Although we have only teamed a little I'm sorry to see you (or any1) leave CoX.
Unfortunately I have to agree about I8 and once again the lack of new content for lvl 50 players. Going to have to find an SG member to ex me for the new content.
Hope you will be back for I9.

Yes shut down after my post. But if people still want a SG to do it with they can email me. Then when it is back up I will send an email with the new proposed date.

Just some quick personal opinions, and covering a few points. I'm sure other people will cover areas in more detail.
People play tanks in different ways. Some solo. Then taunt is not needed. IMO though why solo a tank when usually a scrapper will solo quicker?
Some concentrate on team play. Then taunt is a great asset and you shouldn't go without using it. For example, it can be used to grab aggro from the enemy who are attacking colleagues at a distance away. It can be used to aggro 1 spawn when multiple spawns are close together without having to aggro other spawns.
So no, just jumping in is the last think you should do. Not to say that is not ok to do alot of the time. But before you jump in you have to think is that the right think to do on this occasion? Thinking before you act is important. Just jumping in may aggro multiple spawns and cause a team wipe.
If you team its not just about you staying alive its about holding as much aggro as you can manage so the rest of the team can do their bit. If they are good players, they, in return will make it easier for you by defeating or controlling the enemy. You help enable them to do this.
Many tanks take pride in being the first to be defeated. Reasoning that in being so they held the aggro as long as possible, allowing the other team members to fulfil their potential. This can be a fun way to play , but if it happens alot, stop and think.
Firstly, can you adjust your play? Are you jumping in and aggroing multiple mobs. Secondly, could the other players do more to help you. Is the empath using his/her fortify on you or not? Is the player with force field actually using their bubbles on you? If not ask for them.
If you ask on the board for an experienced tank to team with to show you what they have learnt I'm sure someone will kindly offer to help. You have made the right steps in using the forum. The issue of taunt can be found covered in more detail elsewhere in this section of the board.
If you want to be a team tank, just to add, often ice melee adds to your ability to tank for a team as ice patch can help lower damage from lvl 20 onwards. If minions are slipping on the ice they can't hurt you or the rest of the team!
Hope this helps

Has anyone reported this as a bug? So we can know whether the response is WAI or the prima guide is wrong. As Scotlands Bru pointed out it can make a big difference, especially to a declining SG.
Paragon Girl -
Any 1 wanting to try this but needing a SG for the occasion can sign up below or send me an email on the forum expressing interest.
Don't worry the experience is free of charge & we will not hold you to ransom in the base! We expect you to want to leave the SG after the trial.
Warning you may experience debt while running this trial. If you don't want debt please don't apply.
If it gets to the point we have no more spaces I will announce this asap on this link.

I am one of the leaders of the SG in 22nd place on Union server.
We have the numbers of people reported as needed to do the CoP. So maybe more than 12 potentially. As you say its not hard to get a base rdy for the CoP. Ours has been rdy for months, and doesn't need any changes to make it so.
Its having the players interested. We can get the numbers necessary, but tbh honest the players are more looking forward to Statesman's strike force. They really aren't worried about if they have an IoP or not because the buff is likely to be so low.
Yes I know they will do the CoP to begin with but come Statesman's TF they will be more interested in that (the first 8 person team has already been identified, lol). I can see CoP becoming a "been there got the t-shirt type of trial" after awhile, except for those teams with more hard core pvp players.
Also alot of people don't know about the CoP or how to set base up for it. Met a SG leader today who don't know wot it was.
I think that the CoP should be advertised on the updater before it goes live to let more players know it exists and that there are SGs with bases ready for it which they could look to join. In fact will put that on the suggestions page.

Personally I would slot both Call Genin and Call Jonin, 3 accuracy and 3 damage.
If you read the following interview by positron. (Need to scroll down to Bridgers post and click link).
http://uk.boards.cityofheroes.com/showfl...art=17&vc=1
You will see how hard things get for your lower lvl minions who can be fighting at -3/4 lvls commonly or at -5/6 in Recluse Strike Force. Quite easily their chance to hit can be halved.
Taking ball park figures.
If an extra accuracy SO adds 30% change to hit to a base of 75%, that's an 21.5% extra chance of hitting before changes made to fighting at higher lvls.
A defense debuff of 30% added to a -def of base 5% means a further debuff to the opposition of 1.5%, per hit stacked on them. So if I have worked it out correctly you neeed to have 15 debuffs stacked on a single member of the opposition by your Genin for a debuff SO to work out better than an accuracy SO. Its not going to happen.
Plus if the Genin have a lower chance of hitting in the first place they have less chance of debuffing the defense of the enemy as they need to hit to do it. Having a higher chance of hitting means more chance of debuffing the enemy so its a win win situation. Which would raise the need to have more debuffs stacked on a single enemy to make a difference.
(On a personal note if somebody can disprove the maths I'm more than happy, I will admit to being tired and rushing my thoughts).
On my lvl 50 ninja/FF MM I respeced in stamina in my 40s. Didn't need it before but once I started running patron powers it became very useful. So suggest you try and keep a respec for any changes you want to make at lvl 50. Although I run tactics & assualt which are heavy on energy. Got them as they are great in pvp, help when you get invisible enemy in pve and needed some powers in the pool to get vengance. I love vengance for teaming, helps stops team wipes.
Other posts have point out tips you may want to take, so will not repeat them.
Hope this helps. -
Sorry weekend days are out for me. Given notice can usually make an evening, although I usually help my CoH SG on a Sunday evening.

i think /ff is being overlooked, dispersion enables you to prevent all the squishies from being held/disoriented as well as all the def boosts. An earth bubble would be hell to solo but would be great team support
[/ QUOTE ]
Force field is a nice set. Problem with it is many people find applying the bubbles tedious and don't keep their team mates buffed. Some people drop the deflection and insulation field.
An example just today. I was in a mission with a SG colleague and a FF mastermind. He used the shields on his pets, never on his team mates, untill asked by my colleague to buff. He then used the shields once on my colleague. In the meantime I was keeping him and the rest of the team buffed with my shield. So even trying to set an example didn't help. We decided to go help some lower lvl heroes in the COH SG lvl.
