Note that I was talking about EB's not ArchVillains.
[/ QUOTE ]
But most of the mobs you have been complaining about are AVs, that have been downgraded to EBs. Infernal, his mom, Calystix, Arbiter Sands, all AVs.
In fact, there are far more AVs in the game than native EBs.
The only actual EBs you have mentioned are Golden Sphinx and 3K Phil, who as EBs, are indeed a big step down from Darth Vader/Statesman. (Oh, and make the T3h Pwnz0r an EB, the only reeason he isn't is he has been in the game for longer than EBs).
EBs are much closer to bosses than AVs in terms of HP, damage etc. The ones you have been complaining about are the downgraded AVs, and they are still difficult when downgraded because they retain AV appropiate powers. -
Yes, the fighting pool is good if you can fit it in (IMO the crab melee attacks are a bit lackluster).
Also IMO, if you are going pet heavy, CT: Assault is better than Aim. -
Infernal summons several different ranks of demons (random I think). But If you are playing /WP, killing them first is a very bad idea.
-
Another thing with the likes of Infernal and Calstix. They are dangerous because of thier ability to summon boss rank pets. Even downgraded, they would still be able to summon boss rank pets. Putting asside the oddness of minions being more powerful than thier master, it would mean that if you stuggle to defeat them at EB rank you would still find them difficult if doungraded to bosses.

having to go through white uninspiring mobs to get to the EB that i can't beat at +2 levels.
[/ QUOTE ]
Going through yellow/orange minions isn't any more inspiring than going though white minions though. I generally just ignore them unless they get between me and the EB. -
[ QUOTE ]
Question; Which builds can solo AVs? Because, from bitter experience, I have found said conflicts impossible.
[/ QUOTE ]
Night Widows, /regen scrappers with high ST damage, /WP brutes, rad defenders. Quite a few others too. -
[ QUOTE ]
lol i didnt just pop my head around the door, i did a full island lap, im not the only one to have found there to be none in recent times neither. Perhaps u need more on team to spawn but uhmTF to include those zones more would be good
[/ QUOTE ]
Only just noticed this.
The villain version of Monster Island zone includes all the islands to the north of Peregrine Island including Monkey Island. You have been looking on the wrong island. -

It's currently impossible for me to use all the 8 Merits, 6 merits etc from arcs on different chars
[/ QUOTE ]
If you are playing the characters, those 6 or 8 merits will increase until they reach a number you can use.
And if you are not playing those characters, then you haven't got altitis. -
You could also just disable individual travel powers, as the story required, or limit it to certain parts of a map.
It should certainly be possible to have a destroyable object generate a teleport suppression field, or a -fly field. -
[ QUOTE ]
Someone with genuine altitis will never have enough merits to kit out all their chars
[/ QUOTE ]
True, but they would never have enough merits to kit out any of thier characters. May as well spend merits on individual alts as they earn them.
[ QUOTE ]
Farmer alt can simply spend the merits currently to supply the others. Spend the merit. Get the recipe. Craft it. Use Base Storage to give it to the alt.
[/ QUOTE ]
true, but it adds another layer of complication.
And if doing this is so easy, then there is no need to be able to trade merits between alts in the first place is there? -
Someone with genuine altitis will want to kit out all there alts, so they will all need merits, so thier is no point in being able to trade them.
Pooling merits simply encorages the creation of a "farmer alt" to supply the others. -
One problem with the current system is you can't get a +3/+4 EB by playing on Invincible, since it spawns as an AV instead.
-
[ QUOTE ]
Don't want tradeable merits. Why? Because then the price of them would sky rocket as well making the system completely and utterly pointless.
[/ QUOTE ]
^^This.
Tradable merits = all the loot goes to the farmers and gold sellers. -
[ QUOTE ]
Even on my SS/WP brute I sincerely welcomed the help
[/ QUOTE ]
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A SS/WB brute should storm though EBs like paper. I think you are doing something wrong.
Controlers and Doms sometimes have trouble with EBs because of the Purple Triangles of Doom, but as this is actually a power, even if the AV was downgraded to a regular boss they would still have the PTOD, and wouldn't be much easier for mezzers to solo than EB rank.
[ QUOTE ]
I am certain that there are plenty people out there without those resources who will have to avoid missions like that. Thereby missing a nice part of the game.
[/ QUOTE ]
The EBs are what makes these missions interesting. Take away the EBs and they would still be missing a nice part of the game. -

Folks may or may not be happy to know that I checked in some changes for I14 yesterday that increases the minimum speed of Hover and the Suppressed Speed of Flight. Previously, both values are ~5.5' per second on live. After the change, the values will be ~14' per second, with Hover enhanceable up to around 22' per second (about the speed of unslotted Sprint.)

Is it possible to take powers from the Bane set also
[/ QUOTE ]
No, as soon as you pick a crab power the bane powers are locked out, and visa versa.
[ QUOTE ]
If I was to take Build Up would the animation involve pulling the Mace out
[/ QUOTE ]
You can't do it anyway, but if you could, it would involve pulling a mace out. -

Am I wrong or during villain beta wasn't there a fur option for shoulders?
If there was what happened, and if it wasn't there, what the heck was I playing!?!
[/ QUOTE ]Yes, there was fur shoulders for a while during CoV beta. they where removed do to "unacceptable levels of clipping". -

Random question on the subject of Blaster melee.
Thunder Strike.
Is it horrible beyond redemption or does it have any saving graces? Looks to me like they took the Brute/Stalker/Mastermind version and messed up everything good about it. Which is obviously false because I'm sure the Blaster one existed earlier.
It's a PBAoE (radial) knockback, where only a minor portion of the damage is energy, and most of it is Smashing - and this Smashing majority is only single target. So you have a glorified slow motion heavily resisted single target melee attack that has the side effect of scattering anything near you to the four winds. Oh, and, uh, it has a Stun, too.
I repeat, is there anything -good- about this power?
[/ QUOTE ]
When you are soloing with a ranged AT a power whch KBs all mobs close to you can be very useful. -
I've soloed both the Positron TF and the Moonfire TF, but there have been changes since then.

[ QUOTE ]
Not having to waist so much time between missions in the early levels.
[/ QUOTE ]
Rather than running to the missions, avoiding mobs, try killing what you encounter. You will hit level 5 before your third mission that way, and no time is wasted. -
I think doing things like disabling travel powers for certain missions is a good idea (with story reasons, and so long as it wasn't overused), indeed it is a feature I would like to see in the MA.
-
[ QUOTE ]
Well it doesn't seem to make much sense. I mean.. do you lock the map until the PLAYERS have the specific badge, or the creator of the mission has the specific badge (or both)? While I'm a big fan of unlockable stuff and a bit of exclusivity, in this particular case it seems a bit of a crappy idea.
[/ QUOTE ]
My feeling that having stuff unlockable was to avoid spoilers. i.e. a new player with a level 5 character wouldn't be able to use nemesis units in thier missions, so as not to spoil meeting them for the first time in game.
Likewise, the Eden Spire map might only be available after you have done the trial, to avoid spoilers. -

I may have missed a couple
[/ QUOTE ]
"Horror" was on the list too.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes. Yes it was!
*sulks*
I don't remember stupid bloody Romans being on the list at all. Or daft floaty time travelling citadels floating outside of space and time.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's because it was basically a Cryptic list (Jack's ideas). When they split the took the list and it's results with them. -
No, nightwidow Psi powers don't redraw claws. fortuanta powers do.
