Other random points:
- someone said they run with 2 emps as a trio, or is a trio with a team? Because if it's just the three of you, the two emps could make you a invincible death machine just by fort'ing you and letting you stand in the middle of the mobs while they play from distance.
- I personally find Lingering Radiation to be a super helpful power on my Fire/Rad and I use it every time it is up. It slows the mobs down so that Hotfeet and Choking Cloud have a better chance at damaging/holding them, and it helps to mitigate some damage because it has a nice -recharge debuff to it. Because RI takes so long to cast, I usually Flashfire - Fire Cages - Lingering Radiation - Enervating Field. RI is only needed if fighting really tough mobs with lots of bosses, or GMs, AVs, etc.
- playing your Fire/Rad melee style definitely helps keep the imps alive, because it means that in general you're getting the aggro, not the imps. A well built Fire/Rad can in most cases be incredibly safe in the middle of a mob after your alpha attacks and controls, because of Choking Cloud and Hotfeet. Also, as Local Man said, the Gravitational Anchor Chance for Hold proc in Fire Cages is worth it's weight in alchemical silver. Don't be afraid to literally be in the thick of things, that's where a Fire/Rad belongs!
Of course, all just recommendations; if you're having fun, that's what matters the most -
It is worth chasing runspeed and movement increase bonuses for a stone tanker? Will it make slotting too tough or take away from other powers too much? And is the bonus worthwhile in Granite Armor, or just with the other armor toggles running? And what sets and IOs do you look to for the movement speed bonuses, besides the Gift of the Ancients global?
Sorry for all the questions, thanks in advance! -
At least in my fire/ trolling experience, it has become abundantly clear that first and foremost, my fire imps main ability is to detect which one of the mobs has NOT been stunned by Flashfire, and immediately proceed to attack them and usually die.
Either they are dumb and/or they just see me as a lousy employer, and want to get back to the breakroom ASAP. I try to feed them, buff them, and even slot them with fun things specifically for them, but alas, I'm left to wait till Summon Imps is recharged to have more than zero around to do stuff.
So, quick suggestion, based on my complete lack of knowledge about the forthcoming Incarnate System. It would be wonderful it they would create a pet IO, not just for fire imps, that gave the power "Sense of Self Preservation". This would allow them to tap into an AI that has an inkling of desired behavior. If you have multiple pets, it would allow them to group think and gang up on a single mob instead of spreading out all over the place. Or it would keep them from soloing the map. Or if your pet was ranged, it would stay out of melee *gasp*. It would be magical, wouldn't it?
Or just let me have three Singys please -

If you are playing a squishy, or an AT without mez protection, how does defense against mezzes work?
I have a mind/ff troller in mid twenties, and working on a build that would get soft capped defense to ranged attacks. Would this cover ranged mezzes? Was hoping that I would be able to hover over the fray doing the troller thing, and still have a great chance for ranged mezzes to completely miss me most of the time.
Thanks in advance! -
For my Fire/Rad troller, I rock Hot Feet, Choking Cloud, and World of Confusion from the Psy Mastery Pool...why? Because I CAN!
It's awesome being a walking melee death hero
Seriously, it all depends on your style of play, but I've always felt that Hot Feet and Choking Cloud together were uber squared. They compliment each other so well it should be outlawed. -

It is to be expected, but really unfortunate that Freedom is essentially imploding at uncertain intervals due to load issues.
When I am on, there are no issues. However, the server did crash on Friday night, and I verified it on the cityofheroes.com server status page.
I know it's a bigger headache than it's worth to Cryptic, but it should be an option to move your toons from Freedom server to different, less troubled servers.
Anyways, double xp is fun, kinda, but more of a hassle than anything.
The phrase: "Lost connection to DBserver" will be what I equate with Double XP weekends.
