It is very true. Scrappers are BAD. Brutes and Tanks worse. Stalkers are only melee AT even worth looking at if you want to actually kill something. Suvivability is great, but what's the point if you can't kill anything? I play a Sonic/Pain Corr almost every night in RV and sometimes Sirens and I have literally NEVER died to a Scrapper that didn't have at least two buddies, and I can almost always take down one or more of them in the process. If it takes 3 or more Scrappers to kill one Corr, than yes, they are bad.
It's a simple concept. Don't bring a stick to a gun fight.
stalks have the ability to spike (and after AS, do it from range). scraps can do a consistant amount of damage that is pretty easy to deal and setup, Shark jaws/char > EC/headsplitter > spirit shark/fireblast. factor in that kind of damage with the ability to not ever die in arena and zone makes them far from bad.
you can make a scrap on blueside and side switch almost instantly. or you can both make new toons in preatoria and go through that together.Quote:Originally Posted by Fullproof

Don't get discouraged by this, but melee is not the best option for PvP in this game. With so many powerful ranged attacks available, melee gets outclassed and outgunned pretty fast. Trying to stay within striking distance of a ranged opponent is almost impossible. That is partly why Rei recommends Stalker over Brute. Stalkers are about the only effective melee AT because they have the ability to get within striking distance quickly and without being seen and have the tools to hit a moving target as well.
honestly, i cant think of any reason to roll a broot anymore(for pvp).
so stalker. although since they have the potential to be hunted by veats now, you're probably better off rolling a scrap since can't die. -

zone is abit different though, i just HE/MA stuff and spam confuse/blind. only pet i use in zone is phantasm and ST for stalks. -

Then again, that may just be because Psi/EM is nice and broken-tastic, I suppose. -
i'd imagine it'd be a nice sapping combo with therm(germlins to speed it up and what not) but i don't think the set does barely any damage.
you're probably better of going ill/mind anyway though. -

The best thing about DP is the sheer number of procs you can pack into it. Since procs give the same benefit no matter which AT uses them adding procs (especially damage procs) is better for a low damage AT like corrs and defenders.
Blaster survival is all about killing quickly. You want quick hard hitting animations and a secondary that either helps you kill faster, or one that increases your chances of survival while maintaining the kill speed of your primary.
DP looks cool, thats about it. -

I'm still thinking of going km/ea stalker even though looking at the numbers on the newest Mids' makes me cringe.
