What is good about Dual pistol/EM

Don't go rough, go soft.

Personally I do not see DP/EM being a great combo. DP has many attacks which are close range. I cannot see you getting much defense out of that combo. I think you will have to make sure the mobs die when you open up OR your lack of defenses will make that return aggro unbearable. Otherwise it will be a group set in which you will need to wait for the tank to get aggro

Play something other than DP as a blaster. DP is fine for corruptors or defenders. The long animations make it not so good for blasters.

The best thing about DP is the sheer number of procs you can pack into it. Since procs give the same benefit no matter which AT uses them adding procs (especially damage procs) is better for a low damage AT like corrs and defenders.

Blaster survival is all about killing quickly. You want quick hard hitting animations and a secondary that either helps you kill faster, or one that increases your chances of survival while maintaining the kill speed of your primary.

I haven't noticed the animations being exceptionally long. They are longer, but it's not bad at all. Also, the knockbacks add pretty good mitigation.
I suppose Boost Range would be good with all the cone attacks and Hail of Bullets, but I don't see any special synergy with the rest of the set.

Boost range does nothing for HoB.

/EM offers stacking (single target) stuns, power boost which doesn't increase KB and only measurably helps with the stun (or Hold) in Suppressive Fire, Conserve Power which is best with a set that has an end crashing nuke (which DP does not) or fast animating, end chugging, powers (like Fire/) which DP does not have either.

The only real synergies are yet more stacking stuns with Suppressive Fire using standard ammo (redundant since Stun and Total Focus from the secondary will reliably stun a boss) or the range increase for the TAoEs which is the same synergy that /EM gives any other set so nothing unique there.

I pick DP/EM b/c DP/ is the new power and want try something that haven't use on villains and all the /EM cuz ppl won't stop saying how awesome it's...

So DP is a frankensloting proc triggre power. I can deal with that.
Was under the impression that /EM would make anything that migth be gimick, powerful enough for teams.

I want my frist 50 hero to be a blaster, and the new Dual pistol look neat!
So what is good to pair up for DP/? or i willl go blapper insteads of blaster >.

I want /Fire stalker. Because nothing says stealth like dumping a can of gasoline on yourself and lighting a match. -Morac

You can't really go wrong with Pistols/anything, although Devices is a significantly different type of experience. My one SG mate's first Dual Pistols character was DP/Nrg, and they built it as a ranger. They seemed to really have a good time. However, the second SP they made was DP/MM and that has become one of their favorite characters. Much more melee oriented, utilizing Drain Pysche, Psi Shockwave, Bullet Rain, and HoB, although they do also have the cone.

I like DP/Fire, but I like all things /Fire.

Why Blasters? Empathy Sucks.
So, you want to be Mental?
What the hell? Let's buff defenders.

Boost Range will not increase HoB's range but it will increase the range of every other attack in your primary, so I don't see that as a bad thing really.

I have a 50 DP/EM and I took Power Thrust, Boost Range, and Total Focus from EM. Considering DP is a weapon set, you're going to want to use your secondary as little as possible to avoid redraw. With Hasten, some recharge slotting, and the Force Feedback proc in Bullet Rain and Empty Clips, your attacks will be recharging really fast so you're constantly attacking. With Boost Range, you are free to not worry about 'out of range' because you most likely will not. Also, Empy Clips becomes much more effective since you have a longer cone now.

Anything that decides to take the time to run 100+ feet to reach me will be met with a Power Thrust or a Total Focus to the face.

To compensate for HoB being a pbaoe attack, I run my DP/EM as a Hover/Teleporter so whenever my HoB recharges I can port in to a mob, fire off HoB, port back out to my ideal firing range and continue the lead barrage.

As mentioned earlier, one of DP's strengths is that it accepts many different sets which means you can load up on a lot of procs. Each of my attacks has at least 2 procs loaded in and the rest slotted with dmg/acc/recharge to taste.

It's a really fun combination if you figure out how to make it work.
