Tonite was good times. Fortune's being tossed around every which way, spawns of vicious PPD cops around every corner and Von Ruwen appearing out of nowhere and "skewering" your target before you can register wth happend!
If you missed out on this evenings adventures, it's not too late! Sign on Thursday @ 8 PM EST and join the swelling ranks of HTTT. -
I'm enjoying the Mind/Nrg goodness as well. TF feels almost brute-like and Bone Smasher is now ubiqitious in name and action. Pew pew smash pew.

NO!
It's where I go to create my arcs. Nice, quite and usually lag free. Let's keep it that way for the architect in us all! -

I don't understand why all the talk about Bane being squishy, and constantly comparing it to Night Widows. Bane is vastly superior in every facet of gameplay, minus the slow casting and no elude.
The damage output is ridiculously high, and as for smacking around heroes, a fully slotted Bane Spider has no problems doing it. As far as soft capping on defenses, wasting power slots on the fighting or leadership trees is pointless. Just spend the money IO'ing your toon out with purples and other expensive sets, and you'll be fine. I have a lvl 50 Bane God. So my advice is simple...stop comparing it to NW's, its a different class, different style, and better in my opinion. Of the VEATS it is clearly the strongest, anyone who claims it isn't, either has never played a Bane Spider, or just has no skill.

I can't take him seriously when he asks us to, "Just spend the money to purple out your Bane and you'll be fine". Makes me laugh actually. Calling it, "The strongest VEAT" is also a misnomer. Truthfully, it isn't the strongest in any one area. Instead, Banes are good at a little bit of everything. They've got pet(s), hold, debuffs, stealth, ranged, melee, +HP and some other toys. It's makes them a verstile, jack-of-all trades; master of none AT. You needn't purple them out to be effective or fun.
On a personal note, I did take the Fighting pool on my Bane and found it to be extremely helpful. He's melee oriented and the added resistance and defense was handy. -

Know how everyone brings AoE to the table because "nothing else matters"? Well, you're there to ensure their delusions continue. While the minions are dropping, you're there to make the boss drops beforehand... or at the same time if you're slacking.

Revised the statement... also, some Stalker builds can contribute decent AoE as well.

Elec/* or Spines/* may make you feel more appricated on larger teams. I've even heard of some Dual Bladers laying down some AoE hurt. -
Off topic (sorry) but I've found my all melee crab highly effective and fun. Slice, Frenzy, Air Superiority and the other melee crab attack (it's a small cone, I forgot it's name) make for a seemless chain and the damage is decent. Additionally, Venom Grenade and Frag Grenade cause no redraw and are easily used in melee. You also get the "Dull Pain" clone in Serum, a nice status/resist armor toggle in "Fortification" and a gaggle of pets to soak aggro and put some hurt on enemy mobs. I chose to forgo a travel power in lieu of the fighting pool as well. Hover + Mental Training + Swift = good combat and travel manuverability. Toss in some IO's to taste and you've got yourself one effective blapper.
Note: Channel Gun and the other single target ranged attack won't slow you down with redraw either! It's really a win/win. -
Dr Reginald Wormwood, noted mystic, opium smuggler and dabbler of the alchemical kind was seen off-loading from a dingy that had embarked from the Far East. Scources have him spotted living in a shanty somewhere in Mercy.

You work quickly D_C.
Looks like I'm shelling out 9.99 for the magik pack.
And a quick question! Are we going to start playing the toons now, or merely create them now so we can hit the gorund running come I15? -
I like the idea as well. For some reason I always thought of the CoT being made up Asain Nationals. No idea they were WASPs. Kudos for the linky to their true history. I was aiming for a summoned entity theme with my Plant/Psi but I could now see rolling it as an aged english crone.
-
I spent 340 million or so just this morning attempting to make my Bane suck a little less. I'm still not happy with the build. feels like a gimped stalker/brute thingy. I'm actually going to attempt a melee crab in its place. Wish me luck.

Fill the ?'s with your build people! -
Soft Capped ranged defense is good for any toon looking to attack, well, from range. I've got a hover-crab SoA at the soft cap and it's tres wonderful. I'd agree that +recharge is still a doms best friend but it looks like you'll have that at 80% as well. I think the combo will make your dom all that much better.

Would a Circle of Thorns theme team be interesting to anyone?
A glance at their bosses shows possibilities for main dominator flavors:
Agony Mage = Gravity
Ruin Mage = Earth
Madness Mage = Mind
Behemoth = Fire
Hellfrost = Ice
Thorn Tree = Plant
We'd run on Pin as we have the 2 stacked VGs there already and no point starting from scratch.

Nice,
I was hoping your swirlly avatar would rear its head in here at some point! Please consider me "in" for this run. I also like the idea of CoT themed toons. Not sure if it's too soon or not but dibs on a Plant/Psi Dom (if, in fact, dibs are even possible). Been wanting to roll one for awhile now. -
I'm about to induldge in a dom orgy of sorts. I've leveled an Ice/Psi, Plant/Psi and Mind/Nrg to 22. When Issue 15 hits, it'll be all doms, all day.
-
My nether regions perked up upon seeing some interest in the reunion. That being siad, it doesn't *have* to take place on Pinnicle, does it? I'd hate to see someone pass up on the run because he/she didn't have enough room. Should we also consider electing a "master of ceremonies" to help organize this enterprise? I think it'll improve our chances of making this work if we've got a clear direction to move in.
Now this may be a thought from way out in left field, so go easy. I've been thinking about making Mind/NRG for I15 (who hasn't, really) and wanted to roll him as a giant ant. Yeah, that's right, a giant ant. Ants, for their size, are perhaps the most industrious and powerful creatures on the planet. They also seem to adhere to the "hive-mind" method of communication. Maybe our theme could revolve around an ant centric idea? I'd even be cool extending the thought out to other types of insects. Again, just a thought. -
Part of me was hoping for an all */NRG team in celebration of the new and fantastic changes comming its way. Failing that, I'm 100% open to a potluck situation. There are still many dom combos I've yet to try. I'd attempt to contact D_C myself but part of me hopes he'll post here as a sign of any possible interest he may have in doing another HTTT run.
-
It was a group of dedicated Dom players comming together to form a theme-type VG consisting of...well, dominators. A few months back we did a Tsoo themed VG of sorts a few days a week. I was hoping that some of the leaders would sugguest a new theme/plan for Issue 15. It took place on Pinniacle and it was a hoot.
-
I guess what I meant to say is that I haven't heard of any plans fo Issue 15. Seeings as how there are alot of changes comming down the pipes, I guess I just figured you folks would hatch some kinda get together. I really shouldn't assume tho.
-
I have a defender that's sitting on the mission. Send a tell to ECTech on Freedom and well try to work out a time that works for us both.
-
So we all know of the buffs comming our way but I haven't heard a peep from any of the ole HTTT gang. Have they gone the way of the dinosaur? Or are they merely waiting in the shadows, awaiting the right time to attack?
It's my personal belief that we should formulate another themed all Dom group for some PvE mayhem and put these buffs/changes to use. -
But, but, but they do so much more damage now...
And they're always a good mule for SotM. -
I've been greedily awaiting the chance to IO out a Mind/NRG. Permadom for under 25 million? Why yes, I think so.
