So, I didn't get to run the SF last night but I did run the TF heroside. My observations:
Nobody on the team had finished it before. One person had attempted it on Test without finishing. So pretty much we had no clues beforehand.
1 hour 20 minutes, 14 deaths, level 1.
We had 1 stone tank, 2 scrappers, a WS, and 4 fenders/trollers. I didn't pay attention to everyone's powers but I know we had good buffing/debuffing and good damage. We pretty much steamrolled as much as we could... the tank like to move from spawn to spawn as quickly as possible, and things died very fast.
I only died once, with the first AV... is it Schaudenfruede? And it was my fault, I didn't hit MoG quite fast enough. I'm a scrapper so I should be able to keep myself alive when there's a stone tanker right next to me. ^_^
Last mission: tanker says we should stealth to the end, and adds "because I only have 15 minutes." This about caused the rest of the team to self-destruct (figuratively), but in any case we did get all teleported to the final fight, and the tank did stay to the end. He rushed right in to Reichsman, which I was very worried about since someone had said that we'd want to pull his friends first. But they were no problem at all... as each one released, we smacked them down and then went back to pounding on the main guy with the million hit points.
I didn't even know about temporary powers, although others on the team were apparently using theirs. I guess it worked because Reichs never regen'd or phased. The whole final fight was not short, but no more than maybe 20 minutes I'd guess.
My impressions: I know the hero version is supposed to have major story problems/massive plot holes, but from the perspective of someone who rarely knows what the story of the TF is anyway, it was fun. New maps, some of them very cool, some fun EBs and a surprise AV halfway through, then a big fight at the end. Most missions were board train, so pretty easy from that angle. I enjoyed myself.
Will be interesting to see how different/more difficult the SF is. -
All the heroes on this other world
They do the villain dance don't you know
If our heroes fight (oh whey oh)
They're falling down like a domino
All of Tyrant's men in that place
They got the power you can bet
Dominatrix's goons (oh whey oh)
They crack their whips on your cigarette
Foreign types bent on switching sides say
Ay oh whey oh, ay oh whey oh
Walk like a Praetorian -
We are the Praetorians my friend,
And we'll keep on fighting 'til the end...
Oh, now I want to do the Praetorian Rhapsody... -

How else are we going to craft the new Praetorian recipes that only work in Praetorian world?

For the love of god, don't give them ideas.

When they announced Cimmorora (or however it's spelled), I fully expected a third type of Salvage other than Tech or Arcane: Archaic.
Could have: Wicker Basket, Papyrus Scroll, Clay Jug, Leather Sandal, Torn Toga, Ox Yoke, Bronze Axe, Pointy Stick, Shiny Rock, etc.
[/ QUOTE ]
You need a pointy stick, a shiny rock, and a scrap of torn toga plus the recipe to form the temporary power/weapon "rock tied to a stick" -

Of course I drink tea...
However I don't have a Posh or Cockney English accent.
we do have, many accents, a quick run down is Manchurian (Manchester), Liverpudlian (Liverpool), Brumie (Birmingham), Yorkshire, Lancastrian, Somerset, Dorset, North London, South London, East London, West London (each side of London has it's own specific accent, Central London is of course Cockney though Cockney rhymning slang in constant use is dying out, various words to filter through to the various London based accents, such as "having a Butchers" at something comes from "Butchers Hook" which meant "Look" in Cockney rhymning slang) and there's quite a few others I've left out of this already long list.
(I have a South London accent, not quite as gutteral as East London however we tend to speak very fast and clip our words).

You forgot about Yorkshire. Hollywood is going bananas after they discovered it (Sean Bean) and now use it far too much.
[/ QUOTE ]
My brother in law has a thick Manchester accent, and it's compounded by the fact that he frequently starts a new sentence before finishing the one he's on... sometimes you just have to smile and nod your head as if you know what the heck he's talking about.... -

I say I-15 is going live. Hopefully with a newer version than they've shown us on Test though.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's not possible. They never release a patch to Live without first testing it on the Test Server. What you see on Test is what we'll be getting on Live when the servers come back up.
EDIT: This'll be the first time a new issue has ever been released on a Monday.
[/ QUOTE ]
It's my understanding that they can test stuff internally on a more private testing server other than the official Test server... and I seem to recall that they've done this sort of thing before (gone live with a newer version than the current Test version, which people said was buggy). But I could be wrong. -
When I played EQ years ago I was on a night shift, and they used to do maintenance EVERY morning during the week. It got really old.

It's a 2.8G patch. Too big to be anything other than the next issue, I'm thinking?
Hmmm now it's making a second patch... another 90M. Science Pack? I'm totally guessing here. ^_^ -
I guess I'd still go with The Mouse Police. I *did* reserve it on virtually ever server after all. ^_^
Here's a Superhero Miss Manners side question: you join a team. Teammate B says to Teammate C, "Oh, great job on nabbing the fabulous name!" Teammate C responds, "Yeah, I was really surprised it was available!"
Question: Is it bad manners to say, "It might have been more difficult if you'd spelled it correctly"?
Because I was in that situation last night, but I decided to just keep my mouth shut. ^_^ -

What's the rating of that story where the wolf dresses up like a woman to chat with little girls?
[/ QUOTE ]
The same rating as those episodes of Looney Tunes where Bugs crossdresses to fool Elmer Fudd.
[/ QUOTE ]
Darn, you beat me to it. -

Dare I point out how often Bugs Bunny dresses in drag?
Oh, but I'm sure those cartoons deserve a teen rating. Right? -

Also pick up a copy of the CoX box and read the disclaimer under the rating.

"Contents may have shifted during shipping"?

Oooh, I see where you're going. Shift = dress.
The game itself is crossdressing! -

This might be the dumbest thread I have ever read.
[/ QUOTE ]
I would say sry for actually having morals and values but i would be lying. But if you want you kids to cross dress whither in game or in Rl thats not my call. I for one dont want it.
Whats wrong with allowing gender bending to apply to all character slots and not just one? There would be no issue at that point

1. Because forcing people to change all 5 costumes at once is unworkable, to say the least, and
2. Because the vast majority of us don't even understand why you think there's a problem in the first place.
Also, I guess you don't ever watch anime. ^_^ -
That was fun. ^_^ I took a few pics myself:
The Guys
The Gals
I'm glad I didn't have to decide anything. As it was I was minimally useful, but anyway. Both winners had excellent costumes. I offered each of them a set of halloween salvage for an extra costume slot as well... Martyress was very happy to take it, while Vermillion Warlock declined as he only uses 2 costume slots as is. Ah well, not so surprising I suppose. ^_^ -
I only just noticed this thread, but I'd be quite happy to donate to the cause. ^_^ I'll try to be on tonight if I can remember.
-
Ditto that. Emotes: Fantastic. costume change emotes: also fantastic. Ability to transform into anything you want to be: A much, much asked for option that people are going to have a lot of fun with. But some bugs to work out at the moment, of course.
If you have a mad scientist character or one that transforms into a beast or something, you're going to love this one. -

You forgot the most evil dimension of all - where everything is exactly the same as our dimension, but everyone has goatees.
[/ QUOTE ]
Woof, time to walk away from the Internet. I read that as "everyone has goatses."
[/ QUOTE ]
Granted, that would probably be a vile universe as well.
What about the universe where all the men are women, all the women are men, and all the cat girls are dog boys? (Stateswoman would still be in charge, of course.) -
[ QUOTE ]
Right, because it makes perfect sense for me to be able to send myself a horse via e-mail.
[/ QUOTE ]
Change that to "send myself a pony" and you'll instantly have more people see the inherit sense in being able to do that. ^_^ -
Can't remember the exact quotes, but two Luddite ones I heard recently were new to me and pretty funny:
1. "I know it's wrong, but this job would be a lot easier with some modern power tools."
2. "The definition of passive resistance is a difficult one, especially when it comes to Arachnos thugs."
I know I got those wrong, but anyway... -
-
1. 6 players pounding on it only manage to get it to 75% health after 15 minutes.
2. You point out that this AV is based on your level 50 tank on another server.
3. You feel compelled to say, "I'm almost certain my own tank isn't this powerful...."
4. You say, "At 25% health!" and someone else replies, "Good, she'll be dead in only another half hour!"
5. After perhaps a half-hour fight, she kills the 33 stone/granite armor tank (fairly well enhanced with level 35 IO's, I'd say) and then suddenly hits Unstoppable (I think it was) and is back up to full health again....
I mean, I built an MA mission with my level 50 scrapper Mouse Police in it, and I had fun going Mouse Police vs. Mouse Police. But I didn't publish it or recruit a team to help me take myself down. -
1. I always try to check people's levels to make sure everyone is going to get the travel power if they want it. I've been in exactly that same position where I said, "Sonso is not going to get this travel power" and people didn't believe me until it happened.
2. I don't care who's running the team, I ALWAYS talk to the detective so that I have my own radio, and when the team's completed 3 missions and is ready for the bank mission, I grab one too. I don't know that the team I'm on isn't going to screw everything up somehow, but I can run my own bank mission solo if I have to.
3. Red Side, #2 is about a zillion times more important because a large PuG is going to screw up the bank robbery something like 80% of the time. -
I have two:
Liberty or Debt
Wings of Liberty
Bonus: I logged into Wings of Liberty to take a picture, and there was a costume contest just about to start. I jumped in line, got 2nd place and 10 mil.
