What Mental said... Maybe someone should set up a STF as well? (thought this was STF actually... my bad)
-
Im absolutely in.
Elec/Psi/Ice dom (1984) blue side right?
edit: This will take less than an hourish? Maybe an 1.5 hours? -
Actually, I 4 slotted Frozen armor....
Steadfast %def
50 IO Def
50 LotG 7,5%
(something else that i forgot thats at home)
Th 50 IO Def really just made a significant difference. I think I may have even slotted 50 IO Def twice.... In any case, it got me up to 47% S/L def. I recommend considering how much def you get from FA compared to something like manuevers and slotting accordingly. -
Ok, thanks! Helped me a lot to think about //darks usability.
-
GP;
I had some personal issues at home, and didn't make 50 until mid-late afternoon Sunday. Sorry I couldn't make it, hope things went well! -
Is this a good combo, elec/fire/dark? My plan was...
TT > Nightfall > LRod > Burn
That a good all around attack chain? -
I'm down. I hope to have my dom to 50 tonight or tomorrow morning. If so, I would like to join with a elec/fire/dark scrapper (level 1!)
-
I want a burn brute (or tank). What has tons of AOE that will go with a burn brute (or tank)? Elec/Fire? That has Lrod right?
edit: Is fire as a primary any good? Then I could have a fire/fire/fire brute! -
-
Elec/Psi is fantastic fun. I would read my bit in that other guys Elec/Psi thread for some high level opinion on how it blooms tho. My Elec/Psi is my top char, beating out my stone/elec brute for fun by a large margin.

I disagree on psiscream. It does just as much damage as psiwave, and if you back far enough up, to a huge number of foes. I am finding that s/m/l def is not as good as ranged def tho, and I have a LOT of s/m/l. You start out at range with static field, drop it, and then either confuse or start outright attacking. If you start with psiscream, you do a far bit of wide damage, then get lit up a bit with half an alpha. You then jump in, sleet, psiwave, and start banging on things. Here is the problem. You are draining end, but all the mobs preferentially shoot from more than 10 ft distance, i.e., out of melee range. You still get lit up. By the time you've drained them, you have either killed the mob, or jumped to range to scream, then back in for wave, and killed them anyway. The big advantage of your aura does not seem to be drain. Even heavily slotted for drain, its useless against +4 content. It just makes things shoot at you. Against +4s, you wont be able to floor their recovery to prevent them from getting the odd potshot off your skull. But.... it DOES give you bonus recov/regen, and in tandem with DP, gets you healing pretty quickly, assuming you are dodging.
After blowing waaaaaaaaaaay too much money on s/m/l, I am going to have to say that ranged def is by far better, unless you don't like grouping, in which case take your pick. But high level content in a group, I have definitely seen, ranged def is better.
This again is all moot if all you fight are whites. -
Jesus God Allah. 3hours+? I would if I could take a break in the middle somewhere for like, 15-30. That is just waaaaaaaaaaaay too long.
-
Sweet! I worked really hard to get that 45% def :| I totally muled out both of my immobs for the def, and I wasted money on my pbaoe to get oblits in there. Man, it was tough getting def + rech in the same build. :/
-
I am rolling in 45% S/L defense, but only (if i push hard) 97.5% rech. This is enough to give me permadom, but only by 6.75 seconds. Should I trade off 5% S/L defense for 5% more rech, to get 102.5% rech? How squishy is 40% S/L vers 45% SL?

Quote:I can pick up a shivan pretty easy. And a rocket. Im currently uncommon slotted. Chem or Bio? I would be bringing Ex if I can make it.The badge isn't individual AFAIK; if anyone on the team gets tickled by a bomb blast, no one gets the badge. So it really doesn't matter what you are.
I'll hold a spot for you just in case. But you must be alpha slotted. Having a shivan is more than encouraged, as well as the other things I pointed out for this particular approach. -
I disagree with your choice of glacier. I find that glacier causes more problems than it solves, requires massive slot investment, and is not terribly reliable without huge chunks of +acc. Someone earlier mentioned the use of shiver. I would, by far, recommend dropping glacier for shiver. With careful use of insp, you can kill an AV solo with ice leveraging the enormous -rech it can bring to bear. I have done it, twice. That's not saying a lot, but given that I roll with only 1 hold, it might give you a better perspective on the value of shiver.

This is the only incarnate badge I am missing... (I might be missing the army badge). I might have some time tonight to jump in and make 1 attempt at it. It seems the bomb badge is difficult to get though as a brute?

Thanks for letting me join two nights ago! I have always enjoyed playing with you guys, but I never have any garunteed time on a given day to play, much less a Wednesday, and the wife is pretty bossy about me not spending too much time playing. That said, as always, I enjoyed playing with you guys.

Well, I just turned 35. I have a power pick I dont know what to do with. I am trying to accheive massive s/m/l defense, and perma dom.
Currently I have 22% s/m/l defense, and I dunno what rech%. I am not terribly worried about rech%, because I have 2 purple sets I cant even slot yet....
My power pick options are:
jolting chain
psilance
invisibility
acrobatics
sspeed
(new pool, maneuvers)
I play a straight forward melee combatant. I do nothing at range other than fire off sleep, confuse, my cone, and then jump in to sap.
I want to get the most bang for my slot out of the above possible power choices. I am taking /ice epp. My pool picks so far are invis, speed, jump. Essentially, this is the last power I pick thats not on a schedule somewhere. Currently I think invis is my best option, since it operates like an emergency pff and allows me to slot lotg7.5 with no slot expense. Someone might suggest maneuvers, since I could slot lotg, def, and endredux for a (decent?) pick. I really need some advice what you guys think I should do.
Thanks! -

I need me merits and whatnot! -
Quote:I'm taking components/shards anywhere I can. Money can by me hammy-os; it can NOT buy me shards/components.Well, out of 26 level 50's, all have a common slotted and maybe nine have an uncommon slotted. Most post-I19 respecs completed. And thoughts to the future are coming up.
Tier 1 alpha? Equivalent of 12 merits. Tier 2? Equivalent of 20 merits past the tier 1. So what of the future, then?
Obviously you'll be able to save up shards and use them for anything. Anyone saving up extra components, or people too nervous that they'll just accumulate stuff they'll never use?
And what about Ham-O's? Anyone taking the component from STF/LRSF instead of a Ham-O? -
Stupid recharge and stupid defence from IOs makes an Elec tank pretty hard to take down. I have a brute, far squishier than a tank, that rocks really decent defence, really decent resists. I have perma energize. With my multiple slotting for regen, as long as I pay attention to energize, I also rock nearly 40hp/s regen. I am slotted a bit weird, going for a lot of those 8 and 10% regen bonuses and a few purple sets in strange places for recharge, but as long as I have my energize up, I have found myself to be damn difficult to take down. I don't play my character as best as probably could be done, but I am happy I can sufficiently tank a wide variety of things at high difficulties, and have speedy enough attacks from all my copious recharge. With Spiritual uncommon, I also max out energize at 100%rech/100%regen/heal, making it a click power of extreme healing when I need it for that. Plus there is surge for those emergencies. Surge, with all that regen and recovery, plus a massive end recovery button, has let me come back from almost 0 health to maximum in some stupid hard fights. While I might not say elec is #2 for tanks, it IS a whole lot more badass than I think it may be getting credit for.

I ran an Apex last night at 8-815, with 7 and a no-slotter. Im willing to take one or two no-slotters on my apex/tin mages, as long as they can provide some sort of support. Ours was a traps/mercs mm. We had 2 mms on team, a def, a corr, 2 brutes, and a scrappydo, and managed to get a masters of badge and already dead badge as well. Just a heads up for the future.
