Meeting: Run number nine, phase five
Date: 09.15.10
Target Level: 24ish

For those unfamiliar with the group, Isolators was started shortly after badges were introduced to the game. This was in the dark, dreary times before global chat, global tells, or even coalition chat. Back then, the only way to find a person from the forums was by chance or pre-arranged meeting.

The Isolators project was started so the people who post here in Victory could actually meet and play together, so that you could have some fun with the people you chat with online. Everyone made a new character for this new group. This is an once a week supergroup that plays every 8 pm Wednesdays.

When the vast majority of the group hits 50, we start a new run of the group, switching between CoH and CoV between runs.

You don't have to be an active forum poster to join, through it's encouraged. At the very least, be a member of the community; run missions, join in advertised task forces, etc.

If you're interested in joining up this run, please feel free to post interest here. Everyone is welcome.

A few notes:
Everyone is welcome.
Not everyone is welcome.
This is an once a week sg. If the group ends up at level 20 at the end of the night, please don't show up next week at level 25.
If you're a few levels behind due to playing less, don't sweat it, but try to catch up on your own or with a task force if you can.
We play 8 pm eastern on Wednesdays.

Well, team Hamster ran through the 20-25 Sky Raiders arc and then the 25-30 time traveling nazi arc. Horatus died. A lot.

Target level looks to be 27 for next week.

27?! Damn, I thought I caught up last night.

I noticed a dramatic difference in survivability of my Stalker between this session and the last. I think I know the reason, too... Moar Domz plz!

Hoping my dom will be a bit more effective next week. Got a karma to slot in combat jumping now as well as a level 30 Devastation: Chance to Hold to put in Jolting Chain. Hoping that's going to give me a nice ghetto aoe hold.

Wow, yeah... 27? I was almost to 26 when I logged off, and I wasn't that far off the pace from the team. Last week we were at the same level I logged out at, strangely. We'll see if I can make up some of the difference by next week, I guess.

I am really wishing Fitness was inherent now. If it was, I could have Tough already and another attack, rather than wishing I had them for the past couple levels. *sighs*

Just keep running with your Isos character. You can catch up when you can, as you will automatically get SK'd up to your team leader (running a TF another time during the week is always a good way to do so).

Got Odinn to 27 myself, and even have a story arc ready to go in case my team wants it. Crazy!

I wish I could. I liked the way the AoEs were unfolding. Honestly, tho the I haven't played a lick since the last Iso's. Calo is still stuck in Praetoria.

Mareel is my 'shade.

Target level appears to be 29ish. If you want to catch up, wouldn't hurt to run a task force for teh xp/badge/merits.

Team Hamster ran random non-arc missions, mainly sky raiders, freakshow, family. Then folded into a Croatoa team. Going to continue on random 25-30 missions/arcs next week.

Yeah, had to leave during that drattedly long "defend the portal!" mission for Skipper's arc. I don't mind the Red Cap one at the end of the very last Croatoa arc, as it doesn't take nearly as long to do. That one... I've just been skipping it lately. Good XP and drops, of course, but I just hate how long it takes.

Hope the rest went okay without me. Odinn goes through endurance pretty well now with all the toggles I'm running. Slowly slotting him up with IOs as I can get them off the market, and that should hopefully help a lot. I goofed and took an attack at 28 (Chain Shock), which is nice, but I could really use that heal/end/HP recovery power instead. So after 30 and then definitely 35 it should be cake, I would think. The 20s are filled with growing pains for melee types.

I've decided to boycott croatoa/striga for a bit and just o-zone the two contacts to unlock the task forces. Mainly because of the two time sink annoying red cap missions.

We made it. Took 45mins or so but with the help of some fill-ins we knocked it out. Only like 6 of the lil bastages escaped too. Easily my least favorite Croatoa mission. Was fun to get back in the game after missing a few weeks.

It's kind of a fun mission for awhile, but then it just gets too long. If the map weren't emptying and instead ambushes spawned in and raced to the henge or whatever it is for 15 minutes, that'd be a lot more interesting.

Ham, I usually run most of the missions on my characters, and miss the certain missions that bug me. Heh. I've been trying to skip more of the zone arcs and do more of the regular ones as well. I do like that we have that variety blueside... redside has so few choices.

Alas I will be unable to make it tonight unless it is very late. I know.. I know.. It will be difficult without my mechanized death brigade, but somehow you must persevere and trod on.

Came in as everyone was leaving the base, but I had a story arc up and Lanna passed me the star to start it (I thought Lanna was just going to choose it, but apparently having a story arc=promotion? Heh). Anyway, my team finished up "The Scroll of Tielekku" and then went on to Croatoa... where I thought other people were going to work on the Penelope Nemmers arc with me at the same time, but I think my Brute was the only one working on it? Thought it would help more of the group, though most of us had good progress on the Geas of the Kind Ones Accolade. Picked up Jack of Irons and Eochai roaming about, and a few of us got the Tuatha and pumpkin badges.

Went from 29 to 31, and think my Brute died the most of all of us. I keep hoping he'll get tough enough to sit in a spawn for 15 seconds without support (especially when I add a new power or set bonus), but no such luck. He'll get there... eventually. He's more fun to play now that he has a few attack powers and his heal, and Lightning Rod in a level should really take the cake.

Not sure what you all did after I had to go (just been exhausted lately... not sick anymore, but now I'm busy grading a lot), but I hope you had fun.

Electric armor? No, you really won't get much tougher outside of team buffing.

Yes, that includes heavy IO bonus sets

I've already forgotten about most of you

My Brute is close to 31 now. Most of the team wasn't 30 when we hit Croatoa so we couldn't run the Nemmers arc alongside GP. When he left we resorted to running a level 45 arc provided by DC.

I'm going to miss next week but in the future I'll try to have some arcs or at least contacts lined up.

I have an elec armor scrapper that is soft capped to smash/lethal (thanks for the build, Madame Pistacio!). Be sure to get tough and you'll probably want weave to help you soft cap. He's a blast to play and can handle large spawns of most enemy types pretty well. With the combination of higher HP, higher resistance caps, and your tier 9 (can't remember the name off the top of my head) to get you to or near those resistance caps when needed, your brute should be even tougher.

Well, I notice a big difference when my defense gets buffed to about 20-30% (from whomever), and I'm aiming for 30% defense to S/L, among other things. Energize's effects won't quite be perma, but 49.8 seconds of recharge on that will help. Having Lightning Rod to mitigate and do damage every 40 seconds will be nice as well.

My main problem when playing him is I run around like he's fully slotted up. Not sure why, but I have been playing 50s a lot lately. Oh well. I know he's not going to be as tough as others (even GP with Fiery Aura's lower resists can outdo his S/L resists by about 13-14%, which is big), but he'll be a lot tougher than he is now.

This makes me sad. I thought a few people had leveled since I asked along the way on that first story arc, and we were good to go for Croatoa. Then no one said anything when we switched over there. *sighs* It's hard being the leader. Speak up, people!

I hope the badges and XP made it worthwhile.

I'll go drown my miseries in more paper grading. Heh.

Don't feel bad GP! We got lots of XP and killed monsters and had a great time. We had fun on DC's arc too - so everything was fine :-)

It's a game - we'll figure out how to have fun!

I'm still going to have arcs ready just because it took us NEARLY TWO MINUTES to switch to the DC arc.

It's all good!

Target level looks 31ish. One or two cheaters at 32, most 29-31.

Team Hamster ran the Freakolympics and started a few random 30-35 arc people.
