  1. I only have one EB i seem to have troubles with on all my characters and that's silver mantis, amount of times i've needed to ask for help against her, despite the fact i've soloed most of the EB's on heroes side with my mind/empath.

They are great team players and very nice in 1 on 1 arena.
Since they have mind link, -jump, hold, confuse if im not misstaken?, very good psi res and res to TK. And they do "decent" damage.

Only problem is fitting in all those lovely powers

Got my suggestion (for GM's) right here:
    http://uk.boards.cityofheroes.com/sh...Number=1182615
It includes a way to make them both easier and at the same time more challenging.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Yeah but that didn't make an awful lot of sense compared to current game mechanics and would require a lot of programming to put new systems in place.

I'd rather add challenge by having more random events, which could easily be done with the systems the game already has in place.

You could have ambushes that come to aid the GM/AV, perhaps made up wholly of EBs, so that off-tanking becomes useful to have. Instead of purple triangles you could have trade-offs between different up-triangle/down-triangle states so GMs resist different damage types or status effects in the different states - and make these states more visual, such as the GM changing appearance (as those little purple triangles can be so hard to see).

You could also have AVs/GMs being granted weaknesses/strengths or special abilities by the environment around them, e.g. maybe Jurassik moving/healing/attacking faster on land, but moving/healing/attacking slower in water. Or have Adamastor able to heal himself by absorbing the life force of any BP shaman nearby and have ambushes of those rush towards him periodically, so you'd have to kill them before they got near him to prevent him healing.

Put them all together and you might get something like this:

Babbage spawns at one end of Boomtown and ponderously moves towards the other side of it, where he is going to attack a team of surveyors trying to assess the damage to some of the buildings near the Steel Canyon gate. Heroes have to stop him. As well as the badge for defeating him, there is also a badge for stopping him before he harms any surveyor teams with their Longbow bodyguards.

Phase 1: Babbage would begin a fight:
    - resistant to psi/fire/lethal (can’t do much against his armoured shell)
    - protected against holds/stuns/fears/confuses (ditto)
    - resistant to repel/kb/-spd/-rchg (weighs so much he is hard to affect)
    - with good accuracy/ToHit (full power, unconcerned for his safety)
    - with good regen
    But also:
    - weak to energy (overloads circuits), cold (freezes joints) & smash (dents armour plates)
    - attacks slowly for lower damage (ponderously heavy)
    - slow moving (because of his bulk)
    - resistant to Taunting (he tries to keep moving towards his objective)
    - weak to being Phased (just because… & a way to slow his progress if you needed to regroup)

As soon as he gets damaged Babbage would start moving towards the nearest junk pile in the direction of his objective (these could be destroyable objects, placed all over Boomtown) to scavenge pieces of armour from it and thus rapidly increase his own health. You could stop this by destroying the junk pile before he reaches it (it could be EB level with decent resists, but still easier to harm than Babbage himself).

Phase 2: at half health, Babbage’s resists/protections flip and visually his outer armour falls away to reveal the workings inside, then he becomes:
    - weak to psi/fire/lethal (you can now attack his psychic control net and circuits/wires)
    - weak to holds/stuns/fears/confuses (can get at his inner workings more easily)
    - weak to repel/kb/-spd/-rchg (doesn’t weigh as much now)
    - with poor accuracy/ToHit (targeting optics damaged when armour fell away)
    - with poor regen (the damage you do to his internals is harder for him to self-repair)
    But also:
    - resistant to energy (his unshielded capacitors absorb it)
    - resistant to cold (chilling his components directly makes him more efficient)
    - resistant to smash (doesn’t do much to his wiring, compared with lethal)
    - attacks faster for higher damage (less bulky now, but is frenzied as he feels threatened)
    - moves faster (because he weighs less now)
    - can be Taunted normally and stops trying to reach his objective

That way he becomes easier to control but harder-hitting as the fight goes on. Also during this phase Babbage can no longer use junk piles to restore his health, but ambushes of Psychic Clockwork rush out to repair him instead and have to be stopped before they reach him. Each Psychic Clockwork that reaches Babbage merges with him to form part of his restored armour (and thus increases his health, which if it increases past 50% would put him back in his phase 1 state).

Most of the phase states can be done via the purple triangles system we have now and the visual change at 50% health would be just like Jade Spider’s appearance change in the CoH-side Silos TF - I think only the AI changes would need major programming work. Oh and make Babbage much bigger - at least 3 times the height

    [/ QUOTE ]

Bringing this thread back on track i find the above suggestions pretty damn interesting and would make the fight a lot more interesting and it should be doable like when he goes to phase two you would just have a similar bit of code like when a Herc titan turns into a Zeus after receiving half damage. Just little additions like these would make them far more interesting.

    Back Alley Baby.

    Congrats to the BAB family
Surprised he's been working so hard lately and posting on the forums a lot as well with one of those on the way, don't know how he coped with all that, especially with dealing with some of those moaners on the US boards
  5. [ QUOTE ]
Just out of interest, if I spawn a Chronos then change characters, the Chronos stays doesn't it? Could be interesting having 5 spawned by just me

    [/ QUOTE ]
Only if you can get someone to keep hold of the kronos attention otherwise it will walk off and despawn on its own.
  6. A big thank you to those that showed up and had fun and an even bigger thank you to those that helped arrange it, Although we didn't get as many paladins as i was hoping for, it was all still a good laugh so it was an awesome event anyways.

    [ QUOTE ]
gah... pity I couldn't show up, I was in the middle of a MoSTF attempt, because I want both Kronos and Paladin badges in my badger... well, I hope you run this event again on September (I'll be on holiday in August and the place I'm going doesn't have internet connection ), it seems quite fun.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah the next robot rampage wont be on till a long time coming since i don't want to do too many of these so close together since folks will get bored of these and also i will be moving house on thursday and am going to be somewhat unawares of my net situation for the next few days/month. However for the next RR i will try and put a month in advance for the signs up so that we can get as many Krono spawners as possible so we just get a tide of kronos, should be interesting to see if defiant can take them on

Also welcome to the forums flamosis
  7. Thanks all for the help, ill be on later on today to get my arc finished and then ill be ready and waiting in pocket D for 9pm ish sorta time.

Leigh just chuck me a pm when its near 9:30 sorta time that way i can let you know where to go to heard your krono, see ya all laters then and good luck
  8. Congrats London, so how many 50's does that make now?
  9. Congrats

So what are you guys planning on doing next?
  10. 2 more days to go, come on guys lets get some more titans into the mix
  11. Right taking a look at your primary build i have to agree with what alvan has said, when it comes to dominators Mu is the best option for a patron for the reasons of power sink and great healing pet. As well as taking the aid self pool which trust me is a must.

Mass hypnosis is a fine power for pve as long as your on a team that knows not to attack your slept mobs while your still engaged with your current mob so as you thought a good panic button that only needs 3 slots, 2 acc and 1 sleep.

Frost breath is a terrible power and should be avoided at all costs not only is the damage poor but it + Ice sword circle, which although is fairly decent tends to make you an aggro magnet which being a dominator is something you want to avoid so i suggest skipping both of these powers, although if you really must have one, then take ice sword circle.

If anything i would put 5 slots in to dominate minimum 2acc, 2 hold and 2 rech being the ideal slotting its one of your main powers so you want to be able to use it as often as possible. Same goes for confuse which can be slotted for 2acc, 1confuse, 2 rech. If possible try and put more slots in mesmerize since its a brilliant power for pve since it can put AV's/ heroes to sleep with one shot and the purple set for sleeps is extremely cheep.

Tk Should be avoided its pretty much useless these days for pve and is only really a benefit only if you have easy access to speed boost, AM, ab or RA since dominators especially mind/ice is a very end heavy combo, use the spare slots from that and put them in levitate since its a very worth while power.

Heres a quick mock up of a mind/ice dom i would make if it where for PvE

  13. I used to get motion sickness when traversing the cave maps. How i got over it was pretty easy, its called turning off your travel power, it makes things a lot less queasy and your not exactly gimping yourself by turning them off while in a cave, still feeling sick? then first person view also helps.

the last one was way cool, i got so many GM badges. if the turnout is good again we can do lusca eochai jack adam, maybe jurassik and kraken since we missed those 2

    [/ QUOTE ]

Thats the spirit! Come on folks more Kronos titans needed
  15. I start the bidding at 1 infl!!!
  16. That's right a RR3 is coming soon on the 27th of July at 21:30 we will be doing another another round this time bigger and better then before.

So once again anyone interested in being Kronos bait here's the arc needed link
    http://coh.redtomax.com/story_arcs/detail.php?id=49

The mission is the 9th one which is a defeat all, "stop all wildflower agents" it's best getting this off Ouroboros rather then crimson since a lot of people had a lot of trouble getting the arc off him. After finishing the mission do not click on exit mission and use a portal D teleport power to transfer your character to Pocket D where they can stay till the day of the raid.

Other positions available are paladin herder which we where somewhat unfortunate with last time. And the event is in KINGS ROW just to make sure everyone knows

And one more time 21:30 on the 27th of july just for those not paying attention
  17. This all sounds right and i definitely agree with the possible idea of a new level range somthing between hero/av - eb would work well.
  18. right nice try to all those that attempted to get the project:wold wide red arc off of crimson but couldn't. Also thanks to everyone that did help out with organizing this (sorry for making you all wait so long) it was a good laugh and i was rather surpprised at the speed of which everyone took down the kronos so fast in fact that we needed some after fight squid

Thanks all who showed up and keep an eye out for the details of robot rampage 3 which should have details up soon.

*edit* also rather unfortunate with this run there was no paladins about in kings hopefully next time.
  19. well the event starts at 21:00 so anyone with a krono ready and waiting in pocket D should be online sometime between 20:30- 21:00
  20. Basically all you have to do is go to kings row hide in the krono round spot and bring him into the crowd then you can drop the tf status leaving you open and ready for teaming, just make sure you can keep up the aggro so the titan doesn't get bored and walk off
  21. [ QUOTE ]
I have 2 characters near that mission. Can be waiting Sunday with both if you want?

[/ QUOTE ] up to you mate, i don't mind just try and make sure a tank or someone else with a taunt can hold the kronos aggro of your first character before switching
  22. [ QUOTE ]
So even playing Crimson story arc using Ouroboros grants Kronos to spawn? You have to be in task force mode for that, any problem quitting task force so you can team-up with other people and defeat them, or spawn would be gone?

    [/ QUOTE ]

No problem quitting the tf after you have spawned a kronos.

    [ QUOTE ]
    aaand... is it BST?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    yes
  23. [ QUOTE ]
so i'm assuming the last mission triggers a kronos ambush so that on return to kings through pocket d it will attack there?

i'm gonna have to get crimson, i just turned him down for the old lady before i read this, dang... oh well should be able to make this

    [/ QUOTE ]

The 9th mission is what has the spawn after it is completed, the arc has 16ish missions in total the mission you will be looking out for is "stop all wildflower agents"

If your struggling to get crimson you can easily get him by doing a safeguard mission or by doing it through Ouroboros
  24. oh just came across the slide show from the first robot rampage Robot Rampage 1 I'm aiming for a lot more robots this time so come on volunteers sign up already!
  25. Robot Rampage 2 is brought to you from the Order of the Crucified Swords and the Echelon.

**Confidential transmission intercepted** My fellow agents the time has finally come and our plans are now reaching the end stage. At exactly 2100 hours on Sunday the 29th of June straight after from what we have gathered as a raid on the crashed Rikti ship in the Rikti War Zone we will send a legion of Khronos class titans to kings row and from there they will spread out to nearby areas. They're task is simple, wipe out all heroes in paragon city, The only heroes in kings row should be only of minimum security levels and will not pose a threat to our plan and if any more experienced heroes should show up they will be too tired from they're raid on the Rikti ship to even put up a resistance and so will be easy game. Once the titans begin moving on to others areas our agents can move around the ensuing chaos uninterrupted and take over key points thus making paragon city and all its resources ours. After of which can then proceed onto the next part of our plan which is **Message signal lost**

This message was intercepted just a 5 days ago by complete chance, although we didn't get the whole message whether its a trap made by Malta or even a Nemesis plot we don't know, but what we do know is that after a scouting mission to the titan factory in Warburg we can confirm that an army of titans is up and running so we have to gather as many heroes in Kings Row at 9pm on Sunday the 29th as possible and put a stop to the Krono titans before they can move out into other areas.

There are several key roles that need to be filled out if we have even hope to stop this attack. We are going to heroes for the following roles.

Krono Bait: unlimited positions availble: The job is simple you go to kings row and help lead the kronos into one area known as the krono death site. We are not sure on how many kronos there are going to be so we will be needing as many volunteers as possible.

Paladin control: 1-3 position available: We hear that some paladins might be roaming the area your job if can withstand they're strength is to round up all paladins in the area and lead them to the krono death site, where hopefully they will engage some of the Krono titans in battle and lighten the load for us.

Area coordinator: 1 position: Your job is to keep the crowed at bay until the attack command is issued, we can't afford to let the titans get distracted by anyone else so we need all heroes in the Attack squadron to hold back and stay near kings row train station.

Attack sqaudron: Position availble, as many as we can get: those without a role already are to meet at kings row train station and await further orders there, once given the go ahead we will proceed with taking down every titan in the area.

Camera man: We will need to document this event for training videos in the future so we will be needing documentation of the event.

    ------------------------------------------------------------

Right roleplaying out of the way now
Here's what we need and what you have to do if your interested in helping out in robot rampage 2 All those involved in helping out will need to be online by 8:30 to make sure those in the attack team aren't left waiting too long.

Kronos Bait:- We need as many as possible, the role of the bait is to do the crimson arc- project: world wide red. all you need to do is 9missions which take up to an hour solo on heroic (or higher if you want). The last mission is stop all wildflower agents once the mission has been completed DO NOT EXIT and make sure to use your pocket D teleporter and head to pocket D and then feel free to log out till the day of the event since your character is safe. On the day of the event bait will leave Pocket D on my instructions based on a certain order i shall determine once everyone is present. I suggest that if you wish to be bait make sure to bring a character that can take a barrage from a kronos titan, or bring a lot of purple inspirations.

Paladin puller:- The role of the paladin puller is simple enough, pull any paladins that have made they're way to the paladin doom spot and bring them down to the big pipe area west of the train station.

Area coordinator:- The role of area coordinator is to keep the crowed in kings row at bay until i give them the all is ready message from the team. He will also be conveying the status of the setup teams from me to everyone else as well.

Camera man: optional however would be nice having some screenys or a video of this Smiley

And thats all so if possible can we get as much bait for this as possible the more krono's the better
