  1. Whew, that's good. I thought I wouldn't be able to respec anymore.
    Thanks.
  2. Respecing, pick powers... place slots... start placing enhancements and suddenly the scroll bar in the enhancement window disappears. I can no longer access all my ehancements. I am respecing a level 50 character.

It has happened on two characters so far. Once it did it on the first slot, another I got about 10 slotted and it disappeared.

I have filed two bug reports.

    Anyone seen this before?

Go to your CoH folder and delete the coh.checksum file. Click on your shortcut to start the game and let it rebuild it. Verify files, then enter the game and see if it helped. Might be a corrupted file.
I had this same problem and your solution worked. I even had lost a crafted IO when it failed, but when I logged in it had returned.

That's what I figured the solution would be. How I hate computers!
I mean when they work they are awesome, but that's how they get us emotionally involved before twisiting the soul-wrenching knife of complexity.

I tinkered with some setting and by selecting generic for buttons three through five I get functionality back.

    Yeah!

How do you disable the special buttons? Is it just assigning them?

I am having this issue with new logitech mouse.
  8. Thanks for the advice.

Orange! Why did I not think of that. I tried different variations of the red background trying to get a similar effect like the blue. It came out pinksih or as you see it. I should have thought of it.

Transparent too, that was the easiest part. Well really it all was, I guess.

  9. I was working a GIMP tutorial and mocked these up if anyone is interested.

  10. It looks like we are going Red-side and at the moment hashing out six corruptor sets.

I expect teaming to be anywhere from 2-6 players schedules allowing.

Lots of good ideas in this thread. Much to consider before our debut, targeting the 2x weekend.

Ockham Not Applicable has got a nice ring to it.

    Maybe not.

    Nah.

  13. I finished an arc with 99.78% capacity. With no errors showing the Publish button remained greyed out.

Out of desperation I tried IGOR. After repicking boss names I was able to publish the IGOR file. File size remined the same though.

I used the mission planner and everything looked good text-wise.

I have 14 custom enemies, iirc. And text for everyone.
  14. She has always been a mutant. Her powers have been less then spectacular. Tests indicate she is evolving into the perfect human specimen. She'll be able to run fast, jump farther, heal quicker and endure more hardships than a normal human.

A vial of purported Elemental DNA finds it way into her possession. After further research she suspect her body would be able to absorb the reactive substance. Not sure she truly believe its origin she administers it to herself. At worst she be sick a couple days and her body will work it off.

Her body accepts the recombinant and begins her transformation. Her emotional state seems to become entwined with her powers.

The rational side is calm, cool, and collective. Manipulating ice she can control her surroundings. Patience is her virtue.

The irrational side is more chaotic, tied to anger and aggression. This side she is fed up with waiting. Action is taken now and is final.

With these powers emerging she is now struggling to find a balance or become lost to the element pull of fire and ice.

Well, I can't speak for others, I consider my fan fiction gripping. But, I am definately not griping about anything.

  16. Great editing! Excellent music!

I think that's News Flash I see at the 33-second mark.

    Thanks.

    I feel so immortalized now.
  17. When I use the term skin-walker its this definition.

    [ QUOTE ]
In Native American and Norse legend, a skin-walker is a person with the supernatural ability to turn into any animal he or she desires. Similar creatures can be found in numerous cultures' lores all over the world, closely related to beliefs in werewolves (also known as lycanthropes) and other "were" creatures (which can be described as therianthropes). The Mohawk Indian word "limikkin" is sometimes used to describe all skin-walkers. It is also known as the Yenaldooshi.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I use my other costume slots for the other Totems from the spirit world. Wolf, Coyote, Crow, Bat etc. I consider it a mystical link with the Spirit world. The fact that Occam's Totem is a Warshade his shape shifting is even functional.

Definitely, more costume options for Native Americans would be excellent.
  18. Essentially this is the same character, Red Eagle, at different points in his life.

    Ockham's Thunder - Front

    Ockham's Thunder - Back

    Occam's Totem - Front

    Occam's Totem - Back

    Biography:
Red Eagle is a mystic skin-walker from the Narragansett tribe of Rhode Island and a descendant of the half-dragon hero, Occam's Razar, thereby making him also a drake. Originally, he fought for the Family in underworld fights on the Rogue Isles. Then when the brute was left for dead in the sewers, he embraced the promises of a Saurian god from a dead pantheon. Imbued with super strength, he became known as Ockham's Thunder.

Upon the Saurian god's supposed death, Red Eagle’s drake ancestor attempted to bring him and his soul to the side of good. This happened during the second Rikti War when he teamed up with his ancestor and blood relatives, and sacrificed himself to save the team.

Mortally wounded and beyond his teams healing powers, a hostless and former Nictus volunteered to help the dying drake and merged with the redeemed Indian warrior.

Red Eagle adopted the new moniker Occam's Totem. Along with the kheldian, both strive to make better life choices and forever walk in his ancestor's shadow while worrying about the return of the Saurian god.

  20. I had developed Norman Salazar (in-game Rogue Isle Protector) for Not the Hero. During the writing process I really got into the character and he took a life of his own. His popularity on, Tropic's COH Writers Guild site grew.

I had no choice, but to write Not the Villain staring him. He also spawned cameos in other short stories of mine as well as other guild members.

I got into his character so well he became my first level 50, even after he was created two years after many previous alts, my "main" resting at Level 41.

I blame my watching the movie Serenity, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I tried watching the Firefly series, but at the time I thought Farscape just did "it" better. Whatever "it" was. Norman and The Operative from the movie, I thought were cut from similar molds.

    *Edited for Serenity reference.
  21. Is this where I come to toot my horn?

    Toot Toot!

This should be rated T for Teen, my follow up maybe... questionable in some parts, but that for another format.
  22. Yay, the story continues.

    Is the lighthouse, Lighthouse?

What is the source of her powers Dr. Evans hinted at?

    What lies ahead?

So many questions, and the tale is only starting.

    Encore!
  23. Okay, who acquired the Soon(TM)?

If it has fallen through the cracks I claim dibs.

  24. Here's a link to an easier to read pdf version.

Sorry, meant to do this a couple months ago.
