The text on that web page probably hasn't been updated since 2004, so I wouldn't sweat it After all, they're in the process of updating it.

I always wanted a skin made of heroes. Let me know when it's fixed

  5. Obvious question: rent? If it's past due you can access your base but it will have no power or control.

Edit: if rent's paid and still no power, you'll need a GM to fix things up.

  7. I think hell just froze over. Asked for this before, during, and after my SG site was active.

But in all honesty, a) FINALLY! and b) bully on you!

Edit: What sort of oversight is planned for the fan portal in regards to ensuring a site stays within the "T for Teen" rating (prevent bait & switching), new sites are added more frequently, inactive sites are bumped, etc.?
  8. Aside:

It's a bit pricey, but if you end up wanting to pull HOs out of your build during a respec, you can by global Enhancement Storage upgrades (10 slots each for $20, 2 upgrades available, 30 storage slots total per character). Might be pricey, but it's a permanent upgrade for all of your characters. Considering extra respec tokens are $10 per, it's not a bad option.

    To be extremely clear.

    1) it costs way more for SOs 25-50 than you get inf drops for in the game.
If I only count lvl 50 Damage SOs, the worst case scenario enhancement-wise (60k each, Schedule A (ref)), I could purchase 416 of these SOs with 25 Mil influence.

Not that any character would need that many, nor that many in Schedule A (even for offensive characters) but that should also cover costs on the way to level 50.

In addition, players will be buying SOs as they level (not just in one lump sum), so they can purchase and keep earning before they hit the cap.

And as a guy who's been playing since '04, I can attest that most players should easily earn enough Influence doing regular mission between lvls 1 and 50 to purchase enough Enhancements keep up with the learning curve of the game. I did it before the Invention System (no selling salvage or consignment) and intermittently on SG Mode before Issue 6 even dropped. And I had plenty of SOs to go around.

(and I've seen some doozies.)
Really? You don't understand why the devs would NOT allow any free account the ability to hold hundreds of millions of Inf? To prevent RMT muling? That doesn't make sense to you?

Besides, you make the Tier 1 25 Mil limit sound like a pauper. Before IOs, that was probably as much Inf as I earned in my entire career (due to SG mode), and I was able to get all of the SOs I ever needed from that.
  11. Such a function would need to be restricted to VIP accounts. With the amount of instancing the devs are trying to reduce and eliminate for F2P and Premium accounts (a lot of players who will make something on the DB and never play again), I know Positron would probably not allow any sort of solo base option to anyone but VIPs.

And even then, I'd be surprised if anything like this would happen. SG bases are, for the most part, shared by a group of players. Even if only VIPs were able to use such a feature, you'd basically have to plan on reserving enough DB space to store one base for every VIP account on every server. And that can get expensive, even if the data space per account is > 1MB.
  12. Very true that light color theory and pigment color theory vary greatly.

Not unless you put in a giant collision box to decrease the giant amount of clipping that occurred, or getting one's camera stuck inside on of them. Oh, and make them hit like GMs.

Just reading that run-on sentence made me short of breath
  15. I think we all know how arbitrarily the rules are enforced. For example, my gargoyles are nude (thanks to there not being a loin cloth option ), but being non-human, the GMs let it slide. Have a naked flesh-colored woman running around the city, though (nipples or no), and out come the torches and pitchforks

(Must remember to suggest pitchfork emote, and perhaps an angrier torch emote.)

That being said, there's still a noticeable seam between his hands / feet and his legs / torso. I can only get so close to matching the skin color options and the costume color options.

I'd love a color wheel, don't get me wrong. I just don't think we'll ever see one because of the rapid increase of GM costume petitions.

I live and die by the /cleartray command anytime I do a respec, for the same reason pointed out by Arcana: an antiquated system that dumps powers into my tray without any rhyme or reason when I respec.

Fix that, and the way powers are managed in the Powers tray, and I'd be a happy man. Perhaps tabs could be used (similar to the Options menu) to separate various powers:
    • Primary / Secondary Powers
    • Pool Powers
    • Inherent Powers
    • Incarnate Powers
    • Accolades
    • Temp Powers
    • Ally Summon Powers (new category)
    • Transformation Powers (new category)
    • Paragon Rewards Powers (new category)
Really, anything to make the list more manageable (and hopefully break down the huge Temp Powers section) would be better than what we have now. I know GUI changes take a gob of dev time, but there haven't been a lot of improvements to this interface since Issue 0.
  17. I definitely think so. Action figures go hand-in-hand with comics, cartoons, live-action superhero movies, etc. Besides, I know some people have made custom action figures and posted them on the forums, so there's certainly precedent.

That's a simplistic way of looking at it. By the same logic, we could just remove traffic lights from intersections and let the police ticket people who break right-of-way laws.

As much as I'd love a color wheel or raw RGB entry to clean up my gargoyle sleeve-to-torso seams, it will be the people who lack maturity and repsect that will keep me (and others) from doing so.
  19. Pay to win? Let me know how long that War Wolf lasts in an ITF, or an AV battle in general. I can assure you that a War Wolf will hardly make a difference in the very difficult fights characters may come across.

    A Shivan, OTOH...

Perhaps we can than Tony monetarily for his hard work.
