Actually yeah. you hit the nail on the head. I wanted to to be sexy. The plan was that she should be appealing, but somethings not right. With the costume slots I have, Ill slowly have her rotting, until she opens her eyes leaves that corpse and then take a new slowly rotting corpse. Endless body and costume designs forever!

Quote:I like thorns. It's fun offering hugs and then pressing an attack button.2nd dom I made was a Plant/thorns, but I couldn't deal with the redraw of the thorns. I'm thinking of making a Plant/fire/ice and having it be the evil version of my Plant/storm/fire.
Sure it was slow, but the toxic damage was good. I didn't stick with it long though.
Plant is a great set though. Seeds of confusion = pure awesome. It also has some skippable powers in it which allow for more fleshing out. I find this really valuable with a Dom like toon. But also I could see the benefit of a controller with a hefty decondary, like storm where you want many of the end powers. Actually Plant/Storm Endgame must be powerful because of the pure versatility of it. -
Quote:I like it.I'll make you a deal. You roll up a nostly naked toon on Freedom, and I'll roll up an Amish superhero to keep your wily wimmenly ways in check for company. This has all the makings of a comic book.
EDIT: I even have the perfect name. Jumpin' Jehosephat.
But I just realized something interesting.
The Action type servers and the RP servers have always in any game I have ever played have had the same style of rivalry, although truthfully it's not as horrid in this community. Not at all really.
I played AoC, and well...That community could leave mental scars on the brain dead. And the RPers hated the PVPers and the PVPers hated everyone, and the RPers would then RP more hate, and then get called carebears and cry secretly in their ramen noodles. -
Thats sort of what I am doing with my Sonic/Dark. Sonic does not hit a lot though. It seems to really need a lot of accuracy so be warned about the attacks. Sonic/Sonic might make things better because of the debuff you get first with sonic res. But Sonic it's self is a slow starter. Or is for me.

Quote:LOL. No no. It's was just a random catgirl who's claws needed a manicure. Most of my other toons are pretty covered up in tech armor, well, maybe not White-Swan, but thats not her issue, she traded in her clothing as an act of empathy for those in need and now heals people in order to earn the right to wear clothes again. Penance! PENANCE!I knew I wasn't wrong about you people and your crazy crustacean porn. If only your toon wore more clothes, Nyx. (Yeah, I read your other post about being naked. People complained about THAT on Virtue?... did you run into an RPing Amish supergroup?...)
But Virtue is great for the most part. I might make one on Protector though. I like drinking, and the only thing I like more than drinking is pulling mobs when drinking! -

Hi everyone.
I am working on my Sonic/Dark Corr.
I am seriously having issues hitting things. It's like my sonic attacks are sort of borked.
Is there something with the accuracy of sonic. Seems like even slotting with accuracy is not getting me to land hits as much as say my Emp/Psi Defender, and she had a terrible time hitting in the beginning.
I know this combo feels potentially very powerfull, and Dark Miasma doe miss but not nearly as much as my sonics.
Any suggestions? Other than turning my volume down. -
Quote:No no. I am sure it's fine. Freedom says it does not like RPers or finds them silly and Virtue people RP that Freedom People are Mindless monkeys who don't get the attraction of dressing like cat girls and mating with lobster bois. How dare you stereotype my server! All the stereotypes are wrong unlike the stereotypes about your server, which are all 100% true!
Edit: Seriously now, is there any reason for the seeming enmity between Virtue and Freedom players or is that just some kinda silly rivalry based on being the two biggest servers?
Enmity? Isn't that one of those plant, underwater things. I should RP one. -
I like it. Thanks. Guess it was just an odd night. I was told to check the forums for a dev post about costumes and what is and what is not allowed. But if there is such a post, I certainly cannot find it.

Quote:I ERPed with Hami. Totally Awkword when his mom brought him his Ramen. I knew something was up when he just blinked out.Virtue is second busiest server and the unofficial role playing server. You are just as likely to find yourself caught in some erotic role playing with a fat 45 year-old shut-in living in his mom's basement as you would taking down Hami.
Virtue is a great server though. The people are friendly, the pugs are....Puggy? Puggish? Frustrating sometimes, but your global friends list will be large, and gosh darnit people will like you! -
Or if you are a Dom throw a Thorn at them and knock em down. Thats what Impale was designed for. Plus, you get cute spikes!
If not, Storm and TA all have early powers, only TA actually will help you build mags of hold with entangle arrow for your other plant hold.
Flying is great, and Air Superiority can bring down flying things, and if they are held can do respectable damage as well. -
Grave-Dust has bone wings. She has a costume with Bone Wings and one without. She does not fly without the wings.
-
To me it's when you hit 30.
People are either playing the high toon, or people are playing the lowbie toons in praet etc.
It's when you hit the mid point where you're to high join the lowbies, and to low to join the TF.
Thats when it gets frustrating for me.
I don't feel pressured to play my 50, although she is my only one. -
A Touch grainy, and definately not Lady Death. I was inspired, but I would not take rip off a toon -
Quote:Mines very different. She sort of has the similar coloring, and while she does not sport a fantastic cape, she has a wicked pair of bone wings. You gave her a cape, right? Maybe the player was just concerned about your technical accuracy. ;p
Seriously, what everyone else said. Don't worry about it. At worst if your name is too close -- maybe Lady Dead or something -- you might get generic'd but I'd doubt even that.
Her name is Grave-Dust
She was a student of Doctor Boccor and a voodoo priestess, and she would divine the future for the "Family" and when they found out that she and Boccor were going to double cross them she was thrown in the lake with new cement shoes on.
Because Praetoria and Primal Earth are so close when she banished her soul to the nether world it eventually found it's way to a corpse of a newly drowned praetorian woman already in the funeral parlour.
She uses the supernatural face with the closed eyes because in Voodoo legends the eyes must be closed to ensure that evil souls don't get in, and so she has to keep her eyes closed to ensure that her soul stays inside the body of this woman.
Lady death there is actually about the same style of dress. Only her boob slider is much higher. -
So I took my undead toon out. She unlike most of my other toons is the least dressed, but I dressed her in what she drowned in.
I am not sure if it's males or females which are offended by her comstume, but I find it triavial when a woman appraoches me and says my costume is not appropriate when in her bio it says only:
I cant really say it on public forums, but I am assuming that ERP, and Sub do not have anything to do with Submarines.
I am a woman, and although I have played an awefull lot of MMO's where your armor is a bandaid and perhaps some thread, I just can't seem to fathom, while most of my toons are classicly comic book covered, that some Cat girl furry is going to tell me that my costume is not acceptable and that she is going to contact the devs.
Body type slim. No raise of the breast slider or booty slider. She is simply tattooed but because we dont get the tats that men get I had to be creative.
My question is simple. Can I get banned for using skimpy costume parts, that the devs put in place, if I am A) not simulating nudity at all, or B) Running around in something that the super bowl would be comfortable showing?
I was inspired by Lady Death when I made the costume based on the toons powers, and although most people like the costume, I keep getting tells about it. Threats about dev intervention.
Sure I dont have many risque looking toons, but seriously, this is a super hero game and I would have thought that those playing such games would realize that comics usually have sex appeal to their female toons. And for this toon I dont want her to run around in a that trench coat, hat, boredom, that people always seem to do to man up their female toon, because somewhere sometime ago it became really unacceptable that a woman would appreciate her physique and have to wear a paper bag to fight crime.
If I want to show some fleshy parts then thats fine. The difference is that Im killing stuff, not sitting in Pocket D in an animal costume flirting with lobster boy. I am actually playing...and not as a submarine. -
Ok so not all of my suggestions would work. I do no the cottage rule, and while I never liked rules and sometimes some cottages, I think the powers need a revisit.
Perhaps my main issue is Alkaloid. I don't mind Poison trap being skippable. Many powers have a skipable power or two.
But Alkaloid should be made like O2 burst with a DOT heal and the effects of Antidote, and antidote should be Halunigen. A confuse effect. That would at least allow for one alternative control with a poison theme. with a - defense or hit afterwords for a short duration while the enemy becomes more focused. -
Poison. It is a beast of burden, and one not needed.
Aklaoid = Crap. O2 burst would do it better and it's not situational, it's just not needed. Combine the effects of Antidote with this and then we have a power. You have to take this and well, it's not feasable on teams at all. It's - res to toxic is ok, but other sets will do it better making this heal not neccessary.
Optional Fix.
Alkaloid can target friends and foes. On friends it effects as O2 burst with a + Toxic resist buff. On foes it strikes with a - resistance to Stun, Imob, sleep and weakens against toxic damage effects. Dual purpose makes it usefull and makes it desirable. It would not damage the enemy however. Just a debuff.
Envenom = Good. Leave it alone
Weaken = Good leave it alone or, make it a cone. Weaken some of the effects, but allow it to compete with rad or alternative debuff set. Keep the Enruance the same and the recharge the same. It's high endurance and high recharge already, but by lowering the demonimination of the effect a cone woud make it more user friendly and again compete with other sets.
Neurotoxic Breath =Fine, does not do a better or worse job than other sets. But it can be left alone.
Elixer of life = Leave it alone
Antidote = It's fine, but shouldmesh with Alkaloid. Should be replaced with Halucenigen. = Confusion with a -Defense thrown in for good measure.
Paralytic Poison =Ok. Finally something usefull beside envenom and weaken (even though weaken should be a cone)
Poison Trap =Skippable. If this was stun gas or had a cool vomiting emote then ok, but a sleep? No. Not a reason to have this. Stun yes. Stun would make sense. Stun Stun Stun.
Noxious Gas = Ok. I don't hate it nor love it and I see it's benefit and one of the only true henchman power buffs. So it's interesting because of that fact. I would not change it. It to me seems as though it is a definate signature MM skill, while other sets dont really offer this type of thing. Arguably though I would love to see this behave like Sonic R, where I had the option to throw this also on a melee toon. Although if used in that fashion you could then reduce the effects when not applied to a henchman.
Those are my suggestions. No anything fancy. I don't know if others aggree or not, but I welcome all input. -
Now my main...money maker that is. Not something I enjoy is a 50 Emp Psi, and I took pain because I did well with Emp. Now, not the same beast I know, but it's like when the zombies go boom, I still offer something to the team.
When I was playing poison, I realized that when they went boom, I was just a poor version of a rad debuffer only eith stronger debuffs, but not AOE Style. At least with pain I feel I am offering a service beyond my DPS abilities.
Now I love zombies. Their cuddly, cute, quiet and well franky great conversationalists.
I just feel that poison had/has potential, but the upper tiers seem like something has gone terribly wrong. The hold is awesome. I love it, but after that it's like something went wrong.
If somehow some dev somewhere reads this. Weaken weaken, and make it a cone. Or something. Because, while I enjoy spitting, it just seems so endurance draining fo the benefits of what you get.
Again...Poison must rock PVP. My main thought is that poisons powers PVP style would obliterate. It has to, I looked a the numbers, and well against a single target PVE my zombies have a full lunchen. So PVP must be it's answer, because PVE it seems as though it' pairings are sooooo limited. Bots, Thugs, Demons, Mercs. Perhaps because they do a ton of range, but when I think poison thematicaly, I think Ninjas and Zombies. Just based on personal attacks and heck even ninjas get a bow. It just seems like the other sets thematicaly go better with things other than poison, when the two things that should really don't benefit as much from it as they should.
Personal oppinion though. -
Quote:I have played a few Stalkers. A DB/Dark and a DB/Nin Perhaps thats why I dont find this.Nyx, I agree with you, except insofar as Stalkers are a completely different playstyle. I can finish almost any mission faster with a Stalker than with a Night Widow, the exception being kill alls and AVs. But the survivability inherent in the stealth of Stalkers makes them a great deal more powerful as a solo AT than Night Widows.
Pyrthas, some people just don't enjoy playing buffbots. That being said, the two sets are not ideal for solo play. But can be useful if matched with a strong primary. In which case you will be taking almost every power from the primary, plus your pool powers and that leaves little room for the powers that are useless 90% of the time.
On the same token I thought about it, and truthfully, I think the only reason why I considder the Widow is because I find her playstyle more fitting.
Perhaps it has nothing to do with the stalker, perhaps it's the player playing. some people have the skill to play a stalker and maybe I am not one of them.
So If I was being sort of snarky about the efficiency of a Widow over a Stalker I think it would be because I find the Widow has more versatility for me Solo than a Stalker, but again I speak of playstyles, not actual abilities of those behind the keyboard working with a stalker -

On another account I had Lightning-Seed. A Plant/Elec Dom. I loved her and thought she was the most powerfull thing in the world. that account is done now.
After coming back years later, (I left when AE came in) I can't seem to play anything long enough to compair with her, other than the fact that I now can no longer play doms for some reason. Even though I tried to remake Lightning-Seed.
I play a lot. To much sometimes, I think. To many hours, and I think I got spoiled by another hero game which let me essentially make anything I wanted. I could have a claw wielding, Psychic, who threw snow storms while swinging an acidic chain...and if that didn;'t work well Id throw fireballs from within my magical personal forcefield. But that game sucked for reasons I just wont get into.
I guess my closest now is the Hybrid Night Widow. Even though I got her to 32 and that seems to be when I stop playing anything. -
Ok first off. I made a Poison Zombie build because I thought that necromancy and poison just seemed like it would jive. I mean I was playing a voodoo woman and well it just seemed more appropriate.
No. No No no non! Nyet! Nill!
Poison is utterly awefull for Zombies. It's horrid, except when soloing and then I see the benefits. But Zombies are like tissue paper, but less absorbant, and frankly, when your only defense after their dead is neurotoxic breath and RUN! Then there are some issues.
Envenom, Weaken...Excellent. In PVP they must rock as a tank breaker or making a squishy pretty much as tissue papery as my zombies. I could see a ranged pet set getting some use out of it, but not the zombies.
Plus, then I went through the power list. Just to see what I was getting into. Lots of single target mega debuffs, but Poison could only really bloom later it seems. It's not user friendly at all!
Now I didn't mind it on my demons as much. Why I am not sure. But zombies definately not so much.
My question. How can I amp my zombies defense? I have taken leadership pool. right now just the defense but Ill have the others. I klnow Force Fields would work or even Thermal, but I rolled up pain instead, and in hind sight I should have done thermal for more resistant pets.
I was actually even thinking about speccing the little zombies with to to hit accuracy debuff. Like 2 Damage, 1 Accuracy and 3 -to hit debuffs. Just because I am not sure how else to get them to stop dying in a larger battle.
