Wow...a complete restore is an annoying hassle.
Prolly will take me forever to just get updates.
Either way.
I assume, In case I cannot find my disks, that I can reload the client through my account?
I have never had to do this before. -
Lately I have been having issues with crashing. Not because of my computer or internet. Sure I get the occasional Mapserver, but that it occasionally. Even that was mostly remmedied by my ISP.
However I have noticed that the game seems to freeze. Especially on TF's. The game just gets to a load screen and then does not load anything. If I click anything the screen turns white, the system says the program must close, and thats that. Sometimes it mentions memory.
Well today I crashed again (Same as above). Only this time nothing worked. I froze completely having to do a hard reboot. Which then resulted in some form of damage...or so it said.
Eventually I had to do a complete factory restore as was advised by customer support for my computer because even safe mode was broken.
So...I am unsure about all of this at the moment. It seems that this was not an issue 3 months ago, but a recent development. A really bad one too.
Mapservering can at least be quickly dealt with. This is just downright freezing and crashing has never occured in other games or products.
So whats the deal? -

Gravity is an amazing controller set. Hands down one of the strongest
-
The very IDEA of leaving Virtue makes me sort of want to vomit.
Sure. The RP will be effected by new players. But...Still. Going to a VIP server which will end up being just a giant mass of people.
Whats happens to our Character names?
I guess if I was hard pressed to move Id move
Rift-Dancer and White-Swan...or Disomnia. -
Nah. Not alone for sure.
Although I have managed to get a
~scrapper to 42 (Then took Shiriken by accident and now hate her. Also don't feel like running the respec trial, though this is purely my own fault)
~ a Night Widow (Jammed at 42 because I herofied her not realizing she would not get the epic pools. I have no desire to tip her back to evil and then run a respec trial to fix her)
~A Blaster I take out here and there.
~Defender Emp/Psi
~Controller Grav/FF
But I had to push myself to play em, because If I could play Controllers and Doms all the time Id prolly have a million of em. -
Update.
If someone thought I was trolling, I wasn't. I was actually frustrated based on my mains never getting anything.
Then out of the blue "Today" running an ITF, my level 41 Dom got a purple on a level 50 team.
Still nothing ever on my Emp/Psi or Grav/FF, but Ill take it where I can.
(Since it's literally been 6 months since I got anything)
Sure it was for pets, but at least it was nice to see a drop for a change.
But I definately was not trolling. If I was, I would not have responded back or responded with some form of snarkyness. -
Ok. I dunno about the math...the wiki...all that goodness.
I don't know if tanks or scrappers get the most Drops. So I cannot say if this is right or wrong.
I have a friend though, who I often...ok almost always group with, and he is a fire/fire tanks. And our Spines/Fire Scrapper all seem to get the purples. Whether this is luck or not I am not sure. But they get them tons. Sometimes two a run.
I can't say it's because of the AT or it's killing prowes, cuz frankly I don't know. I do know that even if the information thats being posted about said killing ability is wrong, even completely wrong, it almost seems as though it's not wrong. -
Quote:Im rolling a Dominator now. Hopefully she can fund my tiny army of pretty things.umm that might be because you as a team are fighting closer together thus killing things quicker
There is 100% no way that you have to be the one dealing the "killing blow" to get a purple [even as a trick].
On incarnate trials i get a ton of purples and most of the time its on my ill/rad when im either shouting out the tactics [thus not killing anything since i put away pets when i do that] or in heal mode [when the AVs are at 10% hp]. So the whole argument of dealing a killing blow is mute to be honest.
The teaming aspect is your best bet though and you can go months without a purple or you can get about 10 in a week [know a friend on Union Chat had something like that, lucky *****]. There never has been a trick to getting purples, never has and never will. -
Quote:Mmmhmmm. My controller has all the Psi attack. And she is damn awesome! Considdering FF and Grav have very skippable powers I didn't find it hard to enhance her with many of the Psi abilities controllers gain access too. And Gav is not lacking in attacks. She is also so procced out that she does damage just sneezing in your direction. There is a way...choose more epic powers and skip the regular ones.
the epic pool I took for Emp/Psi however was power mastry. never underestimate the benefit of Power Boosting buffs. Although it makes her less punchy, it's a sacrifice for ensuring that what I do best (Buffs) are the best buffs ever. -
Quote:My controller is "Punchy", but even respeccing my Emp/Psi, I don't think I could give her more ooomph even if I tried. My Snipe is really my damage "Winning Ticket" but my other ranged attacks are a solid chain.Back to my point before I was rudely interupted. I have a similar situation to yours. I have a Dom, Controller, and MM. The MM no problems, the Dom not problems. The Controller who was my first character get nothing. I have to do welfare from my other characters to help keep her current. I have final decided to respec her with more of the other powers to give her more punch. This is the only solution after playing weeks at a time with no minimum results.
She does have spiritual teir three, which compliments her very well, and the recharge means more attacks, but again...yeilding nothing. -
Quote:Ah ok. That information helps. I'm just getting frustrated. Not because I really want purples. But mainly because I need the cash (Selfish...I know) and currently my only source of income is running TF's or winning CC's (At least I can build pretty things)Residentx10: Please don't spread misinformation. Drops do not work that way. You do not have to get the kill shot to get a drop, and proximity to your teammates has no effect on what kinds of drops you get. See this: http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Recipe...nemy_Defeat.29 "If a team defeats an enemy that drops a recipe, it goes to a random team member."
Nyx: Sounds like a case of bad luck. I rarely see purples myself while everyone else around me gets them every run, and I play everything BUT support characters most of the time. It happens.
I sometimes almost wish there was some form of Need/Greed/Pass system like other games have where it generates higher values of gaining a rare based on a persons decision to accept it. Or even an option for a Rare/Purple, instead of reward merits.
Although, the nature and expense people are willing to pay for a purple, I really doubt people would pass, or vote anything but "Need", and sometimes that can slow down game play. Which obviously is not what I would want either. Also could lead to infighting. Which I also don't want.
Id just like to get something. -
Quote:I forgot to add this but reading your comments, you must be in close proximity and make the killing shot for the purple. I say proximity because I play a lot too(freedom) and I've had loose teams where they break off and fight and teams where they stay together and fight. In the herostats, the stay together team always get more overall drops.
Agreed. But, being in prox is all I can do. Im very PBAoE centric with both my mains based on the nature of their powers. Also, because of the fact that I tend to be somewhat Squishy, I really do rely on the aggro management of tanks and such.
Heck, my troller herself, although a bubbler and grav is extremely agressive in melee, and in most ITF's she gets nothing, and with most of those missions being cave based it's safe to say that proximity is not the issue. Although, as mentioned she does get at least some nice things. -
Quote:I'm on Virtue, but I am a member of a very very large SG that so active it's super active. I am never alone, always in a full group and due to the nature of how I build my Emp/Psi she is litterally always in close prox of the group for aura healing, aura buffing, and providing PBAoE defenses through leadership pools. There is a trick to getting purples. You have to be on teams and they have to fight in close proximity for the right drops. What server do you play on? I'm on Freedom. Also, with the next version the purples become purchaseble from a vendor.
I tested the same issue on my Grav/FF, and although she at least has the ability to generate damage, she does spend a lot of time rebubbling or toggling force bubble when needed or generally holding everything on the map, and while her damage is respectable (Actually pretty Awesome) Im not going to compete on the same level as others for the amount of mobs I kill. She too is also very much in the thick of battle because of the nature of dispursion bubble being also PBAoE.
But she also get nothing purple. Although she does seem to get better rares than my emp.
((The problem I have with having to buy purples from a vendor, is that Im doing the work my AT was designed for, but not getting anything, so if making the purples available through a vendor is supposed to placate me, then why the heck would I run a TF in the first place. I like em, I think they are somewhat fun, but you are then locked into the said TF, which then puts time contraints on a person. You should/have too stick it out. But if Im not getting anything for doing my job, and the rewards are going to everyone else who Im assisting...why bother?))
Seriously. Did the Statesman 2 times this week with my Empath. We steam rolled it. I left with a Hami-O (Cuz the end of the mission allowed me to pick it) a Louisville Slammer, three normal recipes for SO's and a Zephyr.
My alternate runs provided similar results....or worse. -
First off. This is mostly an observation of drops that I have been getting on my characters. Im finding it really frustrating now now things are generated.
Im not speaking of incarnate drops at all. Im talking normal drops for recipes. Purples being the main thing. Im getting frustrated with it, and I play a lot. Prolly a little to much to be honest.
But I am resigned to think that TF's etc are designed for specific types of AT's, which is even more frustrating, because of the dynamic of how the AT's work together with certain types of AT"s having a higher ratio of kills they get.
For example. My mains are Grav/FF Controller, and an Empathy/Psi Defender.
Both are great for TF's but usually people ask for me to bring the Emp/Psi defender because I have a lot of experience with her buffing and focusing heals and know how to distribute the buffs accordingly to ensure the team is healthy.
Although I attack a lot. My damage is meager. I knew it would be considdering I am a support set that offers no debuffs or other means of influencing the enemy targets as I only focus on my teammates. But my attack chain is extremely active.
Im getting nothing. My contribution yields nothing more than a Envenomed Dagger or a Plasmatic Tazer. After running 3 ITFs, an Apex, and 2 Statesmans...oh and a Lady Grey, I have seen nothing.
A couple Jaunts, a Kinetic Combat, and Rare Confuse recipe.
My teammates. Tanks, Scrappers and Most definately Blasters or AOE focused folks with DPS and high ratio of direct defeats are getting mega purples.
What am I doing wrong here. Sure...I know my damage sucks. I didn't make it suck, the game makes it suck. I know I am an Empath...But healing friends seems to not directly effect my participation and certainly does nothing for my kill ratio.
Is this all support toons? Unfortunately, I do play a lot of support toons.
I have been playing for close to three years (Although I did have another account and took some time away from the game) but in my 10 months back I have gotten one purple drop and it's not for lack of running TFS.
Seriously, I am so frustrated with it. I just don't get it at all. -
At the risk of not sounding popular.
I always thought they looked like energy projections. The thickness of them never bothered me, because I thought they always looked like light formations with very little substance because they were supposed to.
They never looked very physical to me, because I just assumed they were razor thin lazer like thingies.
When I use my own thought process...I have to say I like em. -
I got the Vanguard pack.
I found some new belly shirts (Although I think they are from veterans awards.
I would like to see more cosmetic options.
Im not fond of the following
~We need more masks
~We need Textures on "Tights with Skin) Like Metalics etc)
~We could use more options in Details one (Hair Flowers, More Headbands Etc that mesh better with the Hair options for clipping purposes
I pretty much like most of the other additions ot things we already have. But I do see people using much of the same costume options over and over.
I was in a CC last night and saw about a million variations (Exagerated Point) of the same use of costume parts. -
I want to see the movie. But the continuity of the movies thus far really seems to go against the X-men, which I adored.
1) Emma Frost was seen after Prof-X and really made her mark trying to get Kitty Pryde first, and she was a younger woman. Charlse was bald and older when she arrived on the scene. ((Her Diamond form is a very late adition)). She was only created when the Hellfire Club was made in the 80's because they needed to progress the Dark Phoenix saga, which the Helfire Club initiated through the toon Mastermind. So Emma would not do much of anything until well beyond two classes of X-men.
2) Original team was Beast, Angel, Ice Man, Marvel Girl, and Cyclopse. Havoc and Polaris joined just before they were all captured on the island they all got stuck on that was eating them.
3) Storm, Wolverine, Banshee, Night Crawler, Thunderbird. (Banshee, Sunfire, and Wolverine had been introduced in other comics but then joined the X-men) This all happend in the 70's in Giant Sized X-men.
4) Mystique was not even an idea until the 70's and therefore for continuity would never have been in this type of prequal, and she actually started as a Miss Marvel enemy. Well, that was one of her starts actually.
Soooo...the rule is. Nothing on screen can capture 4-5 Decades of comic continuity without using characters that people A) Either don't know, B) didn't like and didn't sell the comics or C) people "Now" Associate with the X-men current roster.
X-men Origins Wolverine, was...other than the Third X-movie, was litterally the most continuity breaking of all the movies.
I think First Class...while entertaining is going to be as breaking. But it does not bother me that much. -
I love hockey!
Go Toronto Maple Raptors!!!!
Yay Canada! -
I really really want
Arcane Sorcery
Something that feels like sorcery. Not just recolored powers.
Perhaps an "Arcane Blast" set. Or "Arcane Control"
Arcane Blast could have Eldritch Bolts, Arcane Sigils that bind things, etc. Lots could be done. I imagine something in a blast set that would either (Idealy) have a base damage, and a random status effect. (-def -acc, Stun, Hold, Blind, insert whatever) So you never know what chaos you might cause. Totally random so it never really gets boring.
For controls it would be pretty much the same as any other set...but woulud be thematic. Maybe something that turns enemies into frogs! -
Quote:Wow...thats interesting. My MM is Demons/Poison and her name is Stepchylde.Everyone forgets the green-headed stepchild of buff/debuff sets.
.
I'm learning to love poison even with it's obvious flaws. The problem with Poison is that the best powers arguably start in the beginning of the set with Weaken and Envenom. Then you have Neurotoxic breath (Which is good) and then the Hold which is a really solid hold.
After that is when the set falls into crapsville.
My main is a Gravity forcefield controller. I love it because FF has a ton of skippables. It opens up other build options. Repulsion Bomb still sucks. The Stun is good, but upon my last test the damage is not effected by containment, and really depending on the primary set you choose (Corr, Def, Controller) it's purpose it's not that great. On an MM though this might be good
Force Bubble is awesome. I don't considder it situational at all. when soloing, I use it often. I also use it to herd things.
For controllers it's better because you can bunch things closer together to hit them with a AOE hold. -
For a social pet can we have something that looks like Gizmo?
-
-
My favorite part would be the Jem and the Holigrams, Over one shoulder, super long, knee length sweater...with a big belt!!!! (If in the baggy shirts section I could even have a bra strap showing!!!)
Complete it with big hair and giant leg warmers and well...HAPPY! Day!
It would be truely outragious! -
Since the entire concept of faery magic derives from the glamour, which is the deception of the human mind...or illusions. I need to support the Illusion Primary...as for a secondary, Storm would work, considdering most fey things are elemental in nature.
That being said. I am currently playing a pixie blaster which is Rad/Energy all colored like the sun, and called her Glitter-Bug. Because all of her powers look sunny!
There are many options though really.
