Doesn't entirely answer my question, and as far as I'm aware those people don't own this forum, and I don't really think they care as much as you think they do.

I can do +0/x8 easily, but it just isn't as fast. I didn't pop reds before entering, is that some sort of trick? Am I supposed to clear it in under a minute or something?
  2. So having previously leveled several characters to 22 using mission maps with about 50 bosses fighting them one by one, I decided to make a katana/FA brute to try out fire farming.

Didn't go well at very low levels, so decided to try it at 17 when I had close to 90% fire resist. Did a couple at +1/x8 with bosses, which was as high as I could manage at that level, and honestly it's much faster just to run from boss to boss.

Does it have to be like +3 or 4? No bosses or yes? Higher level required for better powers?

    Let me know.
  3. NCsoft support has told me that the 440pp price is not a bug but intended.

Still trying to get official confirmation that it's part of the magic bundle. No one I have found has bought that bundle post-i21 (just because it was part of the booster is irrelevant, as they changed a lot about boosters -> bundles. and the only spreadsheet I found was player generated, and may also just be assuming).
  4. Do different sets get different HPs?

Wondering which set taken by itself is the 'toughest', most hp, most resists/def, and powers that mitigate damage (outside of heals which are easy to quantify even for a noob like myself).
  5. I hadn't played for a couple years, but MMs were my favorite AT. So far I've played 4 new ones since coming back, and when fighting with 3 of the 4 (2 demon and 1thug), enemies are constantly just running for the hills, regardless of their debuffs, or what secondary powers I'm using.

    Is this normal?

It's quite annoying to have my pets run off and agro other enemies because of this.

Is there any way to confirm that pack contains it? I couldn't see high collar listed anywhere.
  7. I want to buy this, please fix it already :/ Saw another topic about this over a week ago, but couldn't find it to bump it. Obviously it's not supposed to be 440 points by itself.

    Thanks.
  8. Great guy, great genius, all that.

But he didn't invent hardly anything, for all his patents and such. He didn't invent the smartphone. Blackberry's and HTC products were there first. He didn't invent tablet computers. He didn't invent desktop computers. He didn't invent portable mp3 players.

Yet this is what people keep saying. It's not true, stop saying it. If anything, his products focused on superficial aesthetics and made electronic media trendy and simpler to use for newbies. Just like AOL did with the internet, this simplicity retarded the ability of it's users to use related computer products and electronics.

I'm not judging or criticizing. It's just very hard to sit back with this complete lack of perspective or historical accuracy because of the throngs of cultish apple buyers and the media's biased love affair with the company.

RIP Jobs, while I'm sure it wouldn't bother you, you did plenty of good things for the industry, and most people will only know about your I-series of eyecandy coated products.
  9. So not including scourge, and a defender soloing for the 30% damage buff, how does damage between the two AT's (using the same powersets) compare?
  10. Nox__Fatalis

    OMG bugs

why the fark aren't you all taking screencaps of this?
  11. Are boosters buy only, or is there a way to get them through in game activities?
  12. It's pointless and maybe even a sign of mental illness to post a satire of something no one agreed with in the first place.
  13. Basically it went from killing evil snakes to killing longbow.

There's really very little comically villainous or criminally enterprising about EITHER.

WHY CAN'T YOU GET IT RIGHT?

Villains want to rule, they want to kidnap, they want revenge, they want money, they want power. Killing snakes because kalinda wants us to, or blowing up a longbow base because they occupy a place you just moved to are both stupid and non-villainous.

Then the rest of the time outside of mercy is even worse, killing group after group of the same thugs heroes kill, with very little realistic motivation.

And you don't kidnap people in a longbow base or deep in a cave, you go to their fricken house or a nightclub or some shadey alley. Then you go to part 2 of your plan. What's that? No part 2?

I suppose some will say 'oh like you have a better way to do it'. I do, in fact, but I see no point in spending the time laying it out when it's been laid out by plenty of others and it's just ignored. They want to use the same systems they do in CoH for CoV, and nothing is going to change that.

You know, when CoV first came out, I didn't complain about this crap. To me, it was just another leveling game with a slightly darker tone, more RP possibilities, and pvp against heroes. Now that the latter is gone or of no interest to me, I can see why people thought it was such a pathetic experience.
  14. I wouldn't mind if they'd pick between heavy retroactive restrictions and ridiculous prices for minute upgrades, but to have both at the same time is just going to:

    a. turn away new and returning players without a dime spent

    AND

    b. result in less revenue from veterans who have most the stuff unlocked already
  15. Like let's say you had 4 time defenders with junture stacked on a group of enemies. Is the debuff additive to the cap of -90% damage? And then if you have 70% or 75% or whatever the cap is for defenders resistance to the damage type they are using, does that turn a 100 damage attack to 2.5 damage?, with a 5'ish% chance to land of course lol?

Honestly I think you need to stop posting, all you do is jump into freedom topics and play the rabid fanboy that no one who isn't already paying money likes, and is just going to turn people off, and at the same time reinforce the delusions of grandeur the devs seem to have about what their stuff is worth.
  17. None of this even matters. The prices in the market are so stupid, this whole experiment is going to end in massive failure. The only people who are going to shell out for overpriced crap are the people who were going to pay 15 bucks a month anyways. Why pay 100 bucks on a game you will get tired of after 2 months when it would normally cost you 30 (only 15 if you use a friend code)?

Sorry, math problems guys, work em out or let the void take you.
  18. Please stop with the ridiculous pricing. It makes my eyes bleed. 6 dollars for a character slot?! Three dollars to unslot a few enhancements?

What a joke. XP +25% for an hour... seriously wtf? Double XP for 24 hours, I'll pay a buck or two. I'm not stupid, and you need to stop treating your playerbase like a bunch of rich retards.

You counted -rech with a power that has a 6 min cooldown, awesome. Way overpowered.

    Seriously guys.

And FF doesn't have heals? That can be rectified with a power pool, true mez protection can't.

There's virtually no -regen in the set, no status protection, and numbers can't even compare to rad. No -def autohit powers, and as far as I can tell the HPS of mending is no greater than any other aoe heal.

I don't know what sets people have been playing before now, but if you are faceplanting at 50 you are doing it wrong.
  20. Enough is enough. It's time to fix PvP, focus on making the PvP zones appealing, possibly rolling back i13 changes (I suggest just hampering the effect enhancements have on powers while PvP'ing instead), fix base raids and allow instant raiding that doesn't penalize defenders, and just overall make PvP a focus for a couple issues. I'm not going to make a post about my vision for PvP or tell you what went wrong before (with the suggestion above one slight exception), I could if you really need input, but this isn't that type of post. This is just about the idea in general, that you need to take development in a new direction at least temporarily.

Take this to your accountants: You've added content for the PvE raider crowd issue after issue. You've added powersets and proliferated them for the rerollers and casual players. You've revamped zones, added new ones, etc etc. You cannot appease or bring in more revenue through either of these playerbases for a while. Effort and money is wasted on churning out this content.

But you can bring back a lot of people who took off when you abandoned base raiding and IOPs, and further still who left after i13 changes. There's a large group of people who want large scale PvP, and they can be brought back, and they can spend money. After freedom goes live, this needs to be your focus. Every mmo on the market does vanilla flavored PvE endgame content out the whazoo. There seems to be some sort of misunderstanding that that is all anyone wants. It's not. Give the game some depth again.
  21. Wondering if one exists.
  22. My only concern is, how does one prove they've gotten together the 50 mil?

I'm on a small, new SG on union, and am interested, and have probably barely 50 mil I can scrape together. I don't run the SG, but I think it would be great anyways, as right now we have maybe 100k or so.
  23. Time crawl is garbage outside of maybe AV's. You'd have to be targetting something that can't already be completely debuffed by other things besides slow, yet also resistant to slow. But for most ATs, they are stuck with it.

That makes the hold better, but still not particularly great. Both have a to hit check, the mag 4 duration is short, and it's a lot more end. The hold has no synergy with a -rech either. It's just a bad use of powers and end.

Mending is awesome, but needs good slotting to shine.

Time's juncture basically makes the set for Defenders (coupled with Farsight), but every other AT, including corruptors, got severly nerfed versions of both powers. As someone who likes to blast and debuff, the corruptor numbers particularly miff me. They should be higher than controllers imo. But anyways, basically the numbers are so low on the -tohit and +def of the powers that it takes serious slotting and other +def powers to make it worthwhile. I understand that controllers are probably sick to death of /rad, but -25% to hit compared to -12.5%? (less than 25% def total between TWO powers). Yeah.

Distortion field is the bomb. There's very few things that can substitute for controlling the mobility of enemies. Especially in midsize groups midlevel. You have a lot of enemies and aren't killing them instantly, and keeping them all together is crucial. Controllers can aoe immob, but it doesn't come with -rech, a chance to hold, and doesn't last nearly as long for one cast, and requires a to hit check. Ice and earth controllers may not have as much use for it as others. Elec too, depending on group makeup and use of static field.

Temp Selection. I cringe that some people say not to take this, it's like saying don't take fortitude with your emp. I can understand skipping it if you have other crucial build-making powers to take beforehand, especially as a controller (like combat jumping, weave, maneuvers, stealth, because you'll pretty much need ALL OF THEM to make up for the low numbers on juncture/farsight). But it should be picked up whenever there's a lull in power selection.

Farsight. Crucial power, been talked about already.

Haven't gotten further than 24, I've created 5 or 6 variations of time controllers and defenders.

My greatest success has been my Time/Elec defender. Just completely nullifies all enemies with the option to end drain them all. Dark/Time might be better in some encounters for the ability to floor anything's to hit. But by the time I got that char to 22, it was obviously overkill for most enemies. The only problem is that you've got so many bases covered with distortion field+juncture+farsight that there's little synergy with other control effects such as end drain, further -tohit debuffs, slows, knockdowns and even holds.

Possibly most efficient char is elec/time controller. Possibly the fastest overall killer, takes more work to make them sturdy, but can be done, and with static field and constant end drain, you limit how often the enemies can attack, which amplifies the mitigation of the -tohit.

My greatest dissapointment has been Fire/Time, with Ice/Time in second place. Fire time was just a joke, things running out of hot feet and juncture, with both draining so much end that I couldn't keep everything immob'd. At the same time, everything hitting me JUST FINE because farsight doesn't come till 28 I think, and not enough recovery left over to power other +def pool powers. Maybe at 50 they are great, but I don't have the luxury of leveling that fast.

Ice/Time was sad because even with 6 confuse DO's in arctic air, the confuse duration and overall effect was pitiful. I guess people love the 50 proc in it, but until then the confuse part is crap. The slow and afraid is good. But like with fire, the group will scatter and you will have your end sucked from you.

That was my long list of opinions on the powerset after playing it and nothing else since i21 went live.
  24. Isn't there a way to switch what power is set to auto, maybe while holding down W?
