    2nd Uniform

    [ QUOTE ]
I might be completely missing the point here but I have 3 separate costumes with my crab....can't get rid of the stupid backpack though.

They probably won;t let us have the other costume because there would not be much of a reason to level the other type of character.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah I think you're missing the point. I will explain.

Currently we have 1 uniform slot and 4 costume slots. Since we can do the dual build set up, I would like to have another uniform slot so that I can make my Night Widow look like a Fortunata should I decide to use the Fotunata build.

Right now if I were to play the Fortunate build I would look like a Night Widow and I don't like that.

That's what this thread is about.

Leveling the other character has nothing to do with having another uniform because you automatically get leveled on each build as you level up.
  2. Yeah I remember reading that, but I never assumed that should would know Soul Storm or Gloom, etc.
  3. Really? I have only ever done Venuta as a contact I haven't seen her in a fight.

Knowing that I have a reason to get Gloom now. That is one of my favorite powers on the game.
  4. I actually decided I didn't like that build and ended up coming up with a different build which has 49% melee and ranged defense, 41% area of effect, and perma Mind Link which overlaps for 10 seconds. I didn't bother going for perma-Hasten because my global base recharge is 58% and I figured that was good enough.

I am torn between Gloom and Mental Blast though. I took Mental Blast at 41 just because I want to make sure I have all the Night Widow powers that the NPC would typically have, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE Gloom. Gloom does a lot more damage and is one of the lesser resisted damage types like psi, but a Night Widow wouldn't have Gloom so that is my dilemma.

    2nd Uniform

    [ QUOTE ]
I vote for a button at the tailor that lets VEATs decide if they want to create an SoA costume or a 'normal' costume. Shouldn't be hard to do, and would make a lot of people very happy.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I would even be okay if they made it so that you could do the normal set up like it is now, or you could only have have 2 uniforms and no other slots. That would make me happy because I have only been out of my uniform twice, once during the hero mission for one of the contacts I can't remember and the 2nd time for Darrin Wade when you infiltrate the Midnight Club.

I thought of doing that, but then I figured what if I am in the middle of a SF or something, I dn't want to venture all the way to a tailor to have that done.

Maybe one day they will allow us to have another custom uniform.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I understand it's annoying and i'd feel exactly the same if i had an SoA... but why restrict yourself?

You could always make the two build and save the two costume. In normal play, when you have the time, you could play any you want. If you're in a TF and can,t change the costume, no worries. It's what you'd be doing presently, not changing build. But at least, you get to play both at other times. ( or you could do something like 1 week each before switching again)

    [/ QUOTE ]

To be totally honest with you I really don't care if I don't play a Fortunata because I LOVE LOVE LOVE Night Widows and have since I first saw them as an NPC. I just figured to myself, "hey I don't PvP so why not use this other build for a Fortunata," and even though I don't play them it would be nice to have. I will probably still end up doing the build, but I won't slot it and won't play it until we get that second uniform.

    2nd Uniform

    [ QUOTE ]
I'd love to have a second uniform slot.. as that way i could actually have a different costumes for my Night Widow/Fortunata, instead of just one that i have now.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Thats the exact reason why I won't be playing a 2nd build for the Fortunata powers. Right now my uniform looks exactly like a Night Widow sans the gloves and I wanted to make her look like the Fortunata's, but since we can't do that I won't be able to play a Fortunata unless I make another Widow which I won't or they give us another uniform slot.
  9. The ranged is just a result of the IO sets I happened to use. I love the Red Fortune set and Thunderstrike so it just happened that I ended up having more ranged. I know what I should prioritize, but it just happened to work out the way it did. I was going to use Touch of Death's but they are more expensive on CoV than H and I don't feel like paying the current price.
  10. Novella

    2nd Uniform

That stinks. Oh well I guess no Fortunata for me then.
  11. I would like to get the opinions of you boardfolk regarding my current Night Widow build. So far she is up to level 28 and the end result once she hits 50 will look as such. I don't use level 50 IOs or purples and I always go with level 40 IOs since they give the perfect balance.

I know most people don't take Smoke Grenade, but due to me sticking to the Night Widow code I just had to have it

    2nd Uniform

Have the devs ever mentioned giving Arachnos epics another uniform?

The reason I ask is because I want to use the 2nd build option to do a Fortunata, but I have no interest looking like a Night Widow using Fortunata powers.
  13. Definitely have to agree with those that said losing Foresight was one reason for your downfall. Mask Presence doesn't provide you much defense(2.5%) when compared to Foresight and the 7% if provides.

I personally wouldn't bother with Build Up because you are waiting for it to recharge where as with Follow Up you get damage, +Dmg and +ToHit which is nothing to scoff at.

I would personally drop Mental Blast for Poison Dart because the damage is better and although psi is resisted less than lethal is you will still do better damage with it.

Drop Combat Training: Offensive because it provides minimal returns, Tactical Training: Leadership is the way to go once you get to that level.

Swap Build Up for Follow Up because of the better upsides.

Drop Mask Presence for Foresight because you get more defense and thats always better. I did not take Mask until level 28 so you will be okay if you can't critical until then.

Once you level up again start slotted Slashing asap because FU + Slash is beauy.

Four months on, and Gaze of the Basilisk still is super expensive.

True Believers, ignore what I said: Go for the Lotgs. And get Time Lord.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    What is Time Lord?

Nice build numbers by the way.
  15. I want a Carnie Task Force more than anything in the City of Universe.

Second would be a Malta Task Force because the history and backstory of the Malta Group is just begging to have a Task Force.
  16. I never had any lag before Issue 11 and the only time I had lag was the times I chose to do a Hamidon raid and even then it wasn't lag it was just slowdown.

Right now standing Striga I get the following.

    Duplicate In - 92
    Retransmitted - 1
    Lost In - 80
    Ping - 181

I don't know what it all means but I know from the color bars on the graph that it isn't good. When I last used the net graph prior to I11 it would just be a nice solid green line.
  17. That's an instant classic.
  18. Well every since my girlfriend told me that the game was acting weird I had to check this out for myself. She said the game never acted this way prior to the last update, but since then it has been acting really choppy.

I logged on the game and the rubberbanding is ridiculous to say the least. I looked at the NCSoft help info and I guarantee that it isn't our ISP or the computer because I get no lost packets or lag when I play Guildwars or FIFA 08 online. I looked at the netgraph for CoH and there seems to be a 50% packet loss and ping in the area of 120 to 140.

On full load on Guildwars there is absolutely NO lag but on CoH with low server capacity, the game lags like crazy. I've contacted support and they all say I should contact my ISP, but I know it's not my ISP.

    Whats this thread for?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Dark_one to complain about how unfair it is that he isn't in beta because he never bothers to login to test.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I wouldn't say that's the only reason because I know someone (who I will not name) that mentioned being in the closed beta the other night while teaming and they made mention of having to install the TS because they had not been on it since I4.

There may be a group of people that are consistently chosen, but there are also another random group of people that aren't consistently chosen.
  20. You also have to look at the To Save A Thousand Worlds arc also because in that arc Requiem was the head of the Council and not just "one" of the leaders.

Also in the Kheldian arc he and Arakhn are trying to take over the Council by supplanting the Center. I wish they would let us do battle with the Center instead of making him appear in the background of a map. I can't remember which one though.
  21. No I was replying to Street Angel.

I didn't look at the date of the guide, I just read the descrip of DS and saw that it was odd.

Even with the pre-pet change for Controllers it was utterly useless to slot more than 3 because all pets including Defenders would recharge with enough time to recycle using only 2.

I used to slot 2 recharges in my Grav/Storm and Ill/Kin and could have 3 out at all times, so 4 just seems like overkill to me is all.
  22. Quick question.

Why did you put 4 recharges in Dark Servant when the base duration is 240 seconds, and the power recharges in 240 seconds?

Wouldn't you get alot more use out of the build by slotting something else like ToHit or Heals?

Just thought I would ask because I found that kind of....odd.

    This is also interesting:

Do you guys really listen to our suggestions for powersets, costume options, map, etc....? If so can we have a example?

Oddly, ED came as a suggestion for diminishing returns on the forums. Archery and Sonics were both mentioned.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I would like to know the name of the person who suggested this...

    [/ QUOTE ]

I believe it was Havoc that brought up the idea first.

Everyone might as well not even bother anymore at this point. They want us playing on the heroic standard and that is possible with every combintaion of character that I have seen to date. We ran some missions on test last Saturday to see if a Tanker would be missed in teams and we came to the conclusion that the ATs are fairly well-balanced for the Heroic range and that team composition mattered much less than the mission length and skill of the players in a team. I don't mind being weakened down to this level anymore, I just wish that my passives didn't seem to be such poor choices for my Tanker to take.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well I still run my mission on Unyielding with no issues whatsoever, so I think it's specific groups of people that have issues running on anything higher. My controllers and scrapper find it way to easy to run on any setting under Tenacious. I normally run in teams of 4-8 because soloing missions is utterly pointless and boring.
