  1. Coming to this next week.. when I read "Kickball" in the MotD, I assumed it meant running into each other with repel powers. Entertaining for like 2 minutes, that's about it.

Glad it's not that lame crap, so I'll be there.
  2. Which completely sucks because that power is screaming to be proc'd out.
  3. Just a heads up if you don't know... Shadow Meld only lasts 15 secs, with a 90 sec recharge, if that changes your perception on anything.
  4. Plus, with all the -to-hit (and slows), you won't need much defense, if any. My Dark Defender doesn't have any form of defense outside of what comes in slotted Shadow Fall and he is really safe. You'd be better off with an Epic that will give you more to choose from.
  5. Ninja gloves are still missing for huge model!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They disappeared in issue 17, I'm pretty sure they were back for a little while and now they are gone again.
  6. I'd be up for joining if this is still in the works
  7. No comments as of yet. Busy fixing other things I'm thinking.

    Phantasm

    Quick question...

Has the power customization you apply to Phantasm ever carried over to his Decoy?

Mine isn't, just wondering if this is a bug, or what's the deal.

    Thanks
  9. With dual pistols out, and i17 with the new revolver models, I was thinking we should to try to get this going again.

Anyone still interested? Maybe instead of a full-sized SG, we could at least do a static team, if there isn't a lot of people that want to sign up anymore.

Unfortunately, I deleted the toon I made for this so I'll have to remake him.
  10. This happens to me on my laptop. It's never really bothered me that much as it's most likely an issue with lower-end systems rather than the game itself.
  11. Yes this sucks. I'm having this bug too. Hoping we can somehow get it back..
  12. You don't really need purple sets, nor LotG's to reach permadom.

Here is a quick build I threw together as an example. It also only uses one set of Obliterations. The Basilisks are expensive, but with the money you'll be saving on using cheap Entropic Chaos', you may be able to splurge and get them. However, by switching a few things around, you can avoid them entirely.

Note that this build is not perfect. For instance, I would want Fiery Embrace to be slotted more so it's up often as possible, especially on a Fire/Fire. Use it as a loose guide, and see what you can come up with.

Also: I wouldn't open with the snipe in most cases. Flashfire is far better in giving you that quick burst of mitigation you need to survive the alpha. After everything is locked down, you should be able to fire it uninterupted anyway.

  13. Hello. I'm looking for an active Mutant SG themed to the Bronze Age era... you know, something like 70's-90's X-men, X-factor, etc.

I have three toons that I would hope to be bringing, but if the limit is one, that's okay too.

I'm more than willing to go through an application process if that's the requirement.

    Thanks!
  14. I'd love this too. But I doubt it will happen anytime soon. :/

-IF- it did occur it'd be after the next round of power proliferation, where I'd expect to see a darkness manipulation to coincide with dark blast.

    That's so far away...

Anyway, I agree that not all sets have to follow the normal layout. It'd certainly be a refresher to have something different.
  15. Ninth Cloud

    Energy Blast?

I just started an energy/mm project, and I have to say I'm loving it so far. The graphics are nice, and the set just makes you feel powerful blasting enemies with bright lights. The sound effects sometimes get to me though, but at least it's not as bad as some... and hey, that's what the volume control is for.

As far as the practical side of the set, I'd agree with others. It's the signature blast set. It doesn't massively out perform nor does it suck. I haven't had any problems with the knockback so far, in fact, I kind of like it, but I can see how Oedipus_Tex feels.

    Just try it for yourself.
  16. Thanks Chrome, I appreciate the help. It's not what I'm looking for these specific toons, but I'll have to keep that one in mind in case I make a golden ager. Much appreciated.

    Anyone else have some suggestions?
  17. I'm looking for an active (preferably well established) Silver Age style SG for two of my toons.
They are both mutant origin, if that matters to anyone. I'd love to RP with them, but if that's not possible then that's alright as well.

If your group has an application process, I am more than willing to fill one out. I'm just having a hard time finding an SG that fits what I'm looking for.

    Thanks!
  18. Does the alignment matter?

Like do you only want to STOP the bank heist or can you have the player be the thief?

But I also know, sometimes it's the concept that just isn't clicking (which I've put my own alts in, and they just didn't click, even if I loved the concept).

That said, I'd need to know more, to know why the Teen Phalanx itself didn't work out for you.

Some things in general that I find that cause new members some problems (not only to the Teen Phalanx but other RP SGs I've been a part of)...

    1) Concepts. People come in with the OMG powerful concepts, that haven't proved themselves to the members of the SG whether it's IC or OOC or both.

    Couple of examples...

The INV/SS that can take all the damage in the world and inflict it just as much. Basicly the superman. This doesn't have to be limited to INV/SS, just using it as an example. Even if another is able to bypass it, they say it just doesn't work.

The healer concept. I've seen people complain, my toon is able to heal people, that's the concept but the other person isn't being healed! Because that player doesn't want their toon healed, and want to RP being injured. Basically healers get called god-modders, even when their primary is Empathy which is all about healing.

Now when used on my main, this is a non issue, as part of her is that she can very easily be healed by anyone who can heal. So a little less a worry when dealing with my toon, but others say it takes away from their RP. I've found this to be a general RP problem.

The one trick pony concepts. Common among the telepath concepts, when everyone (not 100% but Id say 99%) has a "can't be be effected by telepaths clause even it's just saying well they have a strong willpower".

Which I've said here and to my SG in it's OOC channel, I still don't get. At least with my main I can see it, as she's a DB/WP and a RAD/DP/PSI, both which have Psi Resist shields. Or even my Dark Miasma users. On my non-psi resist, I've let them go down easily enough versus psi users.

I'm told this is more of a OOC trust issue than anything else.

    2) Being part of a RP SG, in fact, does take being a bit active. Not saying every day type of deal, but if you're showing up once a week, or showing up at the down times of the majority of the SG, and then just show up when no one knows you or your toon, it's going to cause some WTF moments or who are you moments.

My own RL friend had this problem when he joined my SG. And when he did start showing up, it didnt help that his concept was considered psycho and doing WAY over the top (like some weird anime) type stuff, that people could only look at the toon and go...Ummmmm, how the hell do I even react to this.

    3) RP styles. You see it here on the forums as well. Some people factor in enhancements, inspirations and influence as actual tangible things. While others don't. Some factor in security levels. Some don't. Some say if you can't be beaten in PvP then you aren't beaten in RP.

Some people don't mind using the emoticons, others do.

Some people don't want to see abbreviations used in RP chat. When people RP using LOL, WTF, BRB...ect...

Some players won't want to RP with you if you're typing/spelling is just that bad. Typos happen, but if it's just plain bad typing (as in a learning disability) Ive found people will want to ignore you (not always, but some people will).

So after all this is said, it comes back to...it takes finding an RP SG you mesh with. And sometimes this isn't easy. Especially with the varied concepts out there. For example I find it hard to RP with vampires concepts. Why? Everyone with the vampire concept has different rules to it.

Wooden stakes work on this concept. Wooden stakes don't on this concept. This concept automatically turns you into a vampire if they bite you. This concept has to want to turn you into a vampire. This vampire is weak in the sun. This vampire isnt. This vampire is immune to all the things you expect a vampire a hollywood style vampre to be weak too, but has all the strengths of a hollywood vampire.

And amazingly enough most of them say that's how they all are, when another concept would go totally against it.

This is why I personally don't join Golden Age style SGs. Paragon isn't set in a Golden Age setting. It's more a silver/modern age setting.

Nothing wrong with the golden age settings, but I don't see how you can go around RPing with everyone else in the game (and ive seen Golden Age style heroes do such things), when most others arent RPing in that setting.

Golly gee willikers, doesn't mesh well with, @#$%%@$ I'm going to #@$%&$ you with a @#$&%* pony and @$&*@ your skull and $*#*@ kill your @$&$&3 dog.
What kind of RP am I looking for if I don't want to intentionally let my toon get defeated? Is that considered light RP? I just want to add a some personality to my 1-50 run for a change.

I'm liking this build a lot.. other than the huge dent it will be to my pocket.
  22. Ninth Cloud

    Dark/SS build

Alright, here is what I've come up with..

[b]For some reason, it doesn't calculate defense totals and so forth with toggles on. So my numbers are actually:

    Defense
    43.8% S/L, 19.4% E/Neg, 14.4% F/C/Psy
    30.9% melee, 16.9% ranged, 14.4% AoE

    Resistances
    71% S/L, 31.3% Energy, 63% Neg, 47% F/C, 31.3% Toxic, 73.8% Psy

The only thing that really concerns me is the HUGE hole in my protection against Energy. Most Energy attacks lack a smashing/lethal component, and are usually ranged.

Granted, I still have 31.3% res. Plus, I have Dark Regeneration, for those situations as well.

Would it be better, since I already have outstanding resistances to S/L/Neg/Psy, to focus on getting ranged & AoE defense? I'm thinking that would essentially cover my E/F/C holes better.

    What is your opinion?
  23. I don't know if this has been asked yet, but what of Patron Pools? If my villain goes rogue and eventually hero, how is that going to work?

I guess we wont know this till beta.
  24. Thanks for your continued support and interest! We need to get this off the ground.

Yesterday's turnout was pretty bad. *waves at Tir_McDohl*

But this is completely understandable as a lot of you expressed that you wouldn't be able to attend.

What I need to know is when people will be able to attend. It'd be nice to start by next weekend, either Saturday or Sunday, whichever one has the most people available. After the initial start, we can coordinate our regular SG meetings and so forth.
  25. Those are some great insights.. I'd imagine after news of our arrive got out we would have help with piecing the ship back together and gain a few upgrades in the process. Since time-travel technology exists in Paragon already, they would be able to outfit our ship with some device(s) that would allow us to get everyone back where they need to be.

I was making a MA arc last night that has you retrieving a few pieces of the ship. It's not finished yet, but it'll get there. I took a few liberties with our story in the interest of saving time. For instance, the ship's mechanic is a young girl named Tourmaline. If you don't like anything feel free to speak up, nothing at this stage is really permanent.

I also made an enemy group that I plan to feature in most of my arcs for this SG. They're called "Steamwerks" which is an organization in Paragon that seeks out steam-age technology.

The toon I made is Captain Pharrell. He is a EA/EM tank and is supposed to be a captain of the ship. He is highly skilled with technologies and quite the inventor.

He will be sitting under atlas in less than a half hour for those who can make it. If for some reason I am not there, send a tell to my global (@Ninth Cloud).
