True, but you'd have to admit that it does border a bit on the side of "too powerful". The same reason as to why brutes and tankers will never see Regeneration. I don't believe it myself......
  2. I thought about getting it in December as a birthday present (too busy right now with other side projects as well as tons of unfinished and some unopened games).

But for now, I'm still unsure. Not really ready to start a new MMO.

I never said that everyone should care about it. My question was more or less directed at those who have gone to CO and are still here somewhat; the main ones saying "too little too late"

I wonder if DCUO and SW:TOR will have them saying the same thing about CO when they jump ship from there as well?

No build up, no excitement, just "Here's Reichsman, go show him a beat down"). A revamped zone. Something new to play through in a lore kind of way. New powersets for ATs - although exciting - aren't enough when I feel I've already played the content numerous times. And I'm a bit burned out on AE as well, which is why I wanted to see something dev created.

No. I try to keep an even hand on what I compliment and what I criticise.

No. Just do what I say when I say it. And like it.

I'm very easy to please if you do that. ;-)
At least you answered. Most people are quick to say "meh" or "i'm not impressed", but never do really say why. How can the devs help them if they never say what they want?

At least we know that story content and brand new powersets are on the way. Most people seem to be inept at exercising patience, however......hopefully, they find something to do to keep them satisfied until GR gets here.

I know Aion will do just that for me. Not that I'm planning on leaving this game, however.

Don't get me wrong, it's a good add-on, and much needed. However after playing for a few weeks on another [not to be named] super hero MMO, it's too little too late. And no I am not leaving CoH, I love this community, and as long as it's here, I will maintain a presence.

Specifically, after over 5 years of asking for it, we finally got the changes to the animations of Super strength, so that a "punch" actually looks like a punch, and a "haymaker" looks like an haymaker. And I love the ground punch animation for Footstomp. However, in that other game's super strength, it's just soo much more. More powerfull looking, more powerfull feeling. Knockback that does additional damage. I could go on, but not here.

I am looking forward to GR though, that should be very fun. I guess after 5+ years of almost continous play here, I need a break from it, a change of pace.
You know, whenever I see people say "too little too late", I have to raise an eyebrow and wonder. Now don't take this the wrong way, as I am not saying that this is what you were doing, but it makes me think that people thought that PC was easily implemented. As said by a dev (I forget which).....It wasn't that they never wanted to implement it.....they just didn't have the manpower at the time. Some people refuse to see that point though.

Even with the necessary manning, things like this take a lot of time and work. I guess the poor devs didn't move fast enough for some people?

By the way......wasn't it Cryptic that decided not to implement PC in the first place anyway?

EDIT: A saying that I saw a lot from people that left was: "should have been in from the beginning." If every feature up to now had been in the game from the very start, would it have kept them from going to CO anyway? I wonder.

Some modern games can go on forever too.

I am still waiting for the console RPG that does this for me. (Jade Cocoon had an infinite-level endgame dungeon for example.) Unless there are some others that I don't know about......
  8. Sometimes, when I see the "Meh" posts, I want to ask:

-What would it have taken for you to be impressed with this issue?

-Would you still have found something to give negative feedback to even if the issue gave you everything you wanted?

-Are you just a person that is very hard to please?

Now I understand that some people will leave the game to try out something new. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that, so the question is more or less directed at those who never seem to be impressed with any issue.

(I don't mind the lack of new content, as there are countless AE arcs to play, not counting the farms, but I really wish that the Coming Storm would get some attention. I am still pissed off at SNK for not finishing the storyline in The King Of Fighters 12. I really wanted to know who this "unseen master" of the storyline was.....but that is another story.)

    COH Mythbusters

    Myth: Cimerorans are Spartans
Fact: Spartans were Greeks, not Romans

Myth: Scrappers would never recieve an elemental set
Fact: Scrappers now have Fire and Electricity. This will sound petty, but I really hope the person that said he would be forever right about this is still playing the game. In fact, I hope he sees this post. Yes, I am laughing at you.

    Myth: CO will kill COH
Fact: Fury was supposed to kill it, WoW was supposed to kill it, Warhammer was supposed to kill it, AoC was supposed to kill it......

Myth: All PvPers are jerks who brag about being leet.
Fact: Some of the best PvPers are rather nice. And regardless of the game, the people with true skill usually don't brag. Those who do brag are usually the ones who can only defeat those weaker than them, only to throw a fit when someone who is more skilled defeats them.

Myth: COH costs too much a month
Fact: The person that said this was subscribed to XBox live, multiple pr0n sites, ate out everyday, bought a new 360 game every week, and only lived on a (disability?) check. And then had the nerve to question why he never had any money.

Myth: AE farming made it impossible to get onto real teams
Fact: Not true. Cry moar plz

    COH Mythbusters

    Scrappers are useless to teams.

(Pshaw.....real scrappers don't need teams anyway)
  11. I can kind of agree with those who notice the lack of new content (where the hell is The Coming Storm?).....but I myself can say that I haven't been through every story the game offers. Some I skipped on purpose, promising to come back to it on a different character or AT.

I would say that Going Rogue has what you want, but I cannot see the future, so.......and I won't suggest trying AE as your storyline source. That recommendation always gets ugly.

All in all (and I usually don't comment on Issues), this issue is very impressive. Like I said, no new content, but I haven't done all that there is anyway, so no problem for me there.

I almost feel sorry for the RMT spammers now. I'd wonder what they'll do next, but I don't want to give them any ideas.....
  12. I am so glad I had an early day today.....

*Laughs at everyone still at school/work*

    .....sorry.

  18. I've found that using System Restore on Vista uses far more HD space than it really should.

Go here and follow the directions on the page. I don't use much Hard Drive space myself, but I was able to free up almost 40GB of space by following the directions there.

Are you on Vista or XP?

EDIT: I don't know if it is possible for any PC to be able to hold 225 GB of RAM, so I assume you mean the space available on your Hard Drive?

Anyways, I had the same thing said to me about my SR scrapper. "u should reroll cuz sr sucks"

This was before IOs (I think I got that tell back in Issue 7); now my SR scrapper is softcapped on all three positions. I can be petty sometimes when it comes to people like this, and I really wish I could meet that person again just so I could laugh at them.

I thought of this as well, as some of the ATs in that list seemed to match several posters as well.......

You can always take a look at the GPU binning at Tom's Hardware. There they rank the GTX 260M significantly higher than the 8600M GS.

[/ QUOTE ]Perfect! I checked Tom's earlier but didn't find that. Looks like I'll be able to enjoy CoH with all the graphical goodness!

Enjoy.....I know I did. (Coming from a laptop with a less than ideal video solution to a true dedicated video card on a desktop made a world of a difference.)
