  1. Secondary Mutation:

You acquire a secondary mutation. This grants a random permanent buff for up to 20 minutes. No more than one Secondary Mutation can be in place at a time.

    Self Targeted Mystic Fortune.

Yeah, I can see that being a way to handle it. The mail goes to all Mortys (Morti?) and attachments go to all Morts on the same side.
  3. There is an issue though...

Suppose someone sent an email to... I'm going to go with one of my characters: Mortimer Blake. Mortimer Blake is a Cheerful Detective with Shadow Powers who fights and binds Demons. He's one of my perkier characters as well.

So let's assume the following variations of him exist:

    A Dark Miasma/Dual Pistols Defender.
    A Dual Pistols/Dark Miasma Corruptor.
    A Demon Summoning/Dark Miasma Mastermind.
    A Dark Melee/Dark Armor Scrapper
    A Dark Miasma/Dark Blast Defender.

Only 3 of those actually exist. One will be deleted with GR. But this is a good example.

Now, suppose my friend Sal (Who exists as a Claws/Reflex Stalker, and Claws/Regen Scrapper) set an email addressed to Mortimer Blake.

Which Mortimer would get it? The one which was online at the time? Would it be diverted to my global? What about if he sent me a tell?

Then what if I were to respond? If I sent something to Sal, which Sal would it go to?

It's possible with Globals, but the infrastructure needs to be tweaked.

    new archetypes

What I could see is an Assault (As in Dom Secondary)/Armor AT, which is basically a professional Blapper.

And the only reason I can see that is because that's basically what my Human Form Peacebringer is.

    This is possible, in theory.

And it is possible to balance it, in theory.

The reason I chose Assault rather than Blast is because of the following:
    • Assault Sets feature a good mix of Melee and Ranged attacks. This would encourage this fictional AT to move into Melee Range, there for putting that armor to use.
    • Assault sets tend to focus on Single Target Damage. They do have Cones and AoEs, but the really heavy hitters only hit one target at a time.

As for Balance... I suck at balancing things. I know an AT like this /could/ work, since I play one. ((GO GO PEACEBLAPPER!)) But aside from the lack of utility, I don't know how to keep this AT interesting while preventing Tank Magic.

And I agree with the Warrior point. Stop making them get beaten up by the Freaks in Talos and looking like UTTER wusses. Its pathetic, really. If the Cimerorans can do it WITHOUT the magic bracers, why cant the Warriors do it with?
    I wouldn't mind that.

I mean, I know /nothing/ about the Warriors, other than that they have magic bracers, weapons, and a connection with the Hellions.

They're like Lame Hellions, actually. They really need some fleshing out.

Hey there has been talk for years about revamping zones and even creating more CoOps.. the Trolls exist in Boomtown so why not do a make over on what is almost a completely dead zone, turn it into a coop and create a TF that heroes and villains can do together. Leave the same basic enemy groups in there that exist now (COV and COH both have Trolls, Council, Clockwork, and now 5th Column so the only added group for villains would be the Outcast that roam there as well). Add a few contact for each side and everyone gets more content as well.

The story line could revolve around a Troll AV determined to run off the Oiutcast and warring Council/5th Column even if it takes creating another HOLLOWING. Outdoor Instance missions could allow the team to battle Troll, Council and 5th Column bosses and their forces in an effort to keep the growing war fro escalating. Add a mission where the team heads beneath the surface into Troll tunnels (similar to the ones in the Hollows) to defuse X number of bombs being planted to HOLLOW Boomtown and a final confrontation with the TROLL AV and his minions. How does that sound? :-D
Oh yeah, that would be perfect. The reason I picked the Trolls is because they've got a lot of loose plot threads. You'd think Atta would be a Supa Troll if he took more Dyne than anyone else, but he's really just a slightly larger than average troll.
  7. I can see that working, on a server by server basis.
  8. Oh yeah Vahz would be perfect for this. He's got the Whole Herbert West vibe going for him too.
  9. Right. Whose to say the Skulls aren't connected to... say... Mot?

The reason that The Banished Pantheon can't wake Mot up is because the Skulls are tapping into his power without even realizing it.

I mean, since the only Graveyards you see in Paragon City are in Astoria and Striga anyway...

There's also a bit of inconsistency with how the Skulls get their masks. I've assumed that Gravediggers get their masks from graves (hence the name), and then they go through the more graphic killing ritual to be promoted. Then Bone Daddy's go through the dark ritual to get super powers.

That pretty nicely ties the conflicting stories of how Skulls get their masks together, in my mind.
  10. This was inspired by This Thread, in which someone explained the lack of visual "Progression" among the street gangs in Paragon City.

Here's the thing: Everyone knows about the lower level enemy groups.

The Hellions and The Skulls are ubiquitous. Everyone knows about them, but you leave them behind after a few levels.

They're eventually replaced by some of Paragon's more "A-List" gangs, like The Freakshow.

The people in that thread were lamenting that, but also said that they didn't want to see the old level enemy groups get wiped out in favor of more powerful versions.

    So, here's what I propose:

In Grandville, Operative Grillo sends you off to fight The Snakes. The Snakes are a low level Red Side Enemy group, but when you go fight them at level 45-50, they're revealed way more powerful, and even have an ArchVillain!

A Similar treatment could be given to some of the other enemy groups in Paragon.

Take, for example, The Trolls. The Trolls have a whole Zone dedicated to them. They've got a Zone Event. Yet the most powerful troll we see is Atta.

We never find out why Superadine does what it does. We never find out who commissioned it's creation, aside from that vague lab break in. Those rumors of an ArchVillain Troll are never fulfilled, and those tales of Dyne addicts seeing other dimensions? Only an interesting lore tidbit. We know that it's possible, with enough Dyne, to be come a "Supa-Troll". Lots of PCs are Supa-Trolls as well. Who's to say you can't go beyond that? Maybe Grendel got his hands on a load of Uncut Dyne and is trying to turn himself into some sort of Dyne-Fueled God of Rage to get revenge on Atta?

A Storyarc where you revisit the Trolls would be a perfect example of how "The Snake Treatment" could be used to expand upon an old Enemy Group.

Or the Hellions and Skulls. What if some Hellions really managed to make a pact with a Demon? How did the Petrovich Brothers discover their dark powers?

You don't even necessarily have to make super powerful versions of any one enemy group. Simply adding a few arcs dealing with their specific lore is a great way to revitalize some of the older zones in Paragon City.
  11. Come to think of it, there are a lot of NPC Groups who I wouldn't mind seeing made into Epic ATs.

Like Freakshow. I really want to win a Freakshow Tank costume code from The Cape Radio's anniversary contest, just so I can make a Freakshow Tank toon. (I'm thinking I'd go with either SS/Elec, Dark/Elec, Dark/Dark, or Warshade Shadow Type Tank which may require some bind dancing...)

Or perhaps the long requested Rikti AT? (Rikti can canonically disguise themselves as humans. In fact, there is at least one Redside Contact who is such a Rikti. But I'll leave you to figure out who that is, if you don't know.)
  12. ...Actually.

You know what they could do?

Give some of the lower level gangs the Snake treatment.

The Snakes, as I'm sure most of you know, are a low level enemy group found on Mercy Island and Port Oakes.

But, what a lot of people don't know, is that they're actually a 1-50 Enemy Group. You revisit the Snakes through Operative Grillo's Story Arc in Grandville, where not only are they revealed to be far more powerful, they've also got an Incarnate as their leader.

The lower level content is untouched, but the Snakes are able to simultaneously be a low level and high level enemy group. Giving the Skulls and Hellions a similar treatment would be cool, I think.
  13. The Base of the Redside VG I'm in is in one of the Ouroboros Islands.

The Base of the SG I'm in is in an abandoned Supergroup base hovering in the clouds above Salamancia.

And the base for the SG I'm actually leader of is a PPD Precinct House. I think in Steel Canyon.
  14. I know when I have my demons out, some civilians flee in terror.
  15. I would like to take a deeper look into Paragon City's Gang Lore.

Currently, the lore is set up so that there's this kind of... gang progression, I guess.

The Hellions got stuff from the Warriors, who are connected to the Circle of Thorns somehow.

The Skulls have a connection with the Family and Trolls, who has a connection with... I dunno. Who ever the Family is connected to.

But other than that, we never see the Petrovic Brothers (Who founded the Skulls). They don't even tell us who leads the Hellions, but at least they've got two unique bosses. The Skulls don't have a single one.
  16. They could always implement a system similar to the ones that will be implemented with Going Rogue, where you get in good with a faction and become a "member".

You'd get a badge and some Costume Pieces.
  17. ...But then that would be Four HEATs.

...Now, if it was a Praetorian Police/Resistance Soldier AT, --that-- would be cool.
  18. NightErrant

    Coh 2001

Huh... That looks like a point based system, like you see in Mutants and Masterminds or HERO System (Which is what Champions is based off of).

You get a set number of points, and you can use them to buy powers. Then you gather more points as experience.

I guess that was too difficult to implement in an MMO. I kind of like the more traditional system we have now.
  19. Meh... Sounds like he was inviting you to a farm anyway.

I don't care if they give Mega XP. Farms just don't sound fun. I mean, the word "farm" itself evokes images of tedium.

In any case, he had no right to call you a noob for refusing a team. O_o That just makes him both smug, and stupid.
  20. I'm having so much trouble playing now. The game is crashing constantly. Going into bases is pretty much impossible, and I'm stuck using an Intel card unless I buy a new laptop.

I made sure my drivers were up to date, I lowered the resolution, the graphics are all set to minimum. I didn't have nearly as many problems on test.

CoH Ran fine before. I don't know why it's so problematic now...
  21. I have yet to do those missions outside of helping friends with them.

I didn't see my own Flawed Clone, if one was there. (If one --was-- there, it died pretty quick) But I did see a Fire Melee Brute get a Broadsword something or other.

Army of Me was fun. I was helping a sonic/storm. (I was on a Demons/Dark Mastermind, which would have been... messy...)

Holy crap were we knocked around a lot though...
  22. None of my villains are really evil... Because I'm lame.

I'm the guy who always goes for the Neutral Ending in SMT Games.

I'm the guy who will probably having every single one of his villains undergo an alignment shift to Rogue or Vigilante.

I'm the guy who likes Red Side content more than blueside content because I can't stand those first 20 Hero Side levels. (Thank you GR...)

    I'm vanilla. I just can't do evil...

But I still don't like Longbow. Those guys can go suck a gun. OverZealous Candy Canes...
  23. I was on a 8 DS Team on Test Once. I had to leave because it was too crowded, but we tore up that map.

And when I was helping a friend with Army of Me yesterday (He was on a Sonic/Storm Corr), the difference between Victory and a Wipe was a second Demons/Dark. (...And a decrease in difficulty to +0.)

As for my character, he looks like what would happen if Raidou Kuzunoha the XIV, M. Bison, and Karl Ruprecht Kroenen had a baby. ...I am guilty of red and black though. But he looks cool!
  24. Ah, yes. The Temp Powers are quite nice.

Pets, Tazers... I like Recovery Serum. It's a great boost, especially Pre-Stamina.
  25. Warwolves aren't Lycanthropes. Just weird Nazi Experiments.

    Silver wouldn't work.

Nope, what you need are chocolate bullets. They're canine, aren't they?
