There is a rough cost for an attack chain plus toggles during a fight duration. About 5 eps I think versus base end rec, but then you give yourself stamina and lower the end costs of your powers lowering the attacks before toggles as the toggles may only get you one extra attack to the end bar but do help play a much greater key part end recovering between fights. I just read the difference between your end rec and your toggle end drain, looked at how much end red were in attacks and thought to myself my character would be puffed out without consume and perhaps even hastened consume. If I did an attack chain plan I could expect to have to resort to the immob + burn tact as its good dpe and allows for some recovery. It's slow but not bad.
I do F/F/F, I could go earth, I'll respec to earth with a second build and have a pop at the Romans myself later. Cheap respec, totally on SOs and see how it is. -

You should have generally enough protection in Unyielding. In special cases with Unyielding could you of been knocked down in the past.
I am not a big believer in going "here is my build" or spending ages on a completely new build so I just took Finduilas's build and played with it for 5 mins however I am sure it can be improved. If you wanted to soft cap to all but psi, have a good tank and something that's quite an offensive little bugger then it's doable.

I'm not infuriated. I just hope that should our servers die people can transfer to US.
-
Maybe a Sonic. Depends on how you build really.
-
I'd rather a build that was good at something. What is the Kat/Fire gonna be great at? Apart from being pretty self sufficient like most others.

Quote:Resistance and defense are not the end-all-be-all, if you get drained of endurance then you have nothing. Stone tanks, invuln tanks, and fire tanks will all get drain dry and killed. I don't know much about Will Power but it looks like they'll get sucked dry as well. DA has end drain resist and so does Elec.
You can taunt all you want, but if you can't move because you're feared then you can't do anything. DA has fear resist and Elec doesn't. That's one benefit that DA has so far.
Stone resists end drain very well. Non fear resistant tankers should have extra duration. I could get feared and be -rechgd but know full well that sucker ain't going anywhere.
Quote:I've been soloing Crimson's arc for a while now on +0/x8 to get my Moneywrencher badge and to spawn Kronos for his badge. I'd heard about Kronos, but never really fought it. I did once, but I caught the tail end of it. There were already 3 teams in the fight when I got there. People talked about it in a "OMG teamwipe Kronos ambushed and killed us all!" It sounded like something that might test my build. -
I didn't mean to sound directed at your guides. What I do, is look at one persons, then another and another. Some people make the mistake of "You will" or sound like they are trying to confine what other people will find with their own lack of adventure.

Apparently some select Holland players are blaming the ref for their loss. He gave them more chances than any team could of possibly deserved. Oh well let sore losers cry, the toys can remain on the floor. It's one thing to be thuggish on the pitch which is disgraceful but to lose disgracefully as well that's just being an embarassment.
Edit: If anything Spain had looked the more epic team from overcoming the refs leniency which was bad for them, all the fouls and still winning. -
Quote:I don't have a crystal ball, I am not able to tell you what you will like or dislike.Hey, newbie question. If I want to play a Tanker, are there power combos I should definitely avoid or particularly seek out, or is it pretty much "whatever looks fun"?
In particular, am I going to horribly regret doing shield defense/fire? I picked it for purely aesthetic reasons -- it let me get a particular color scheme effect I wanted, I have no idea how good or bad the powers are.
I couldn't possibly regret Shield/Fire.
(but for concept I went Shield/Mace as I got a Fire/Fire)

I wouldn't follow any guide like it's the law, better to come up with a build near to what you think your looking for, showing bonuses you favour and a mention of what you get upto. Sticking to rules is a bad thing.

I go for defense and rechg. Basically always. I like to be a big bag of hitpoints as often as possible so +hp powers need to rechg quick if possible. The additional hitpoints acts well with the resistance. You also gain better regen out of +hp. For an Inv/SS Haste is slightly better than combat jump for what it does to dullpain and other powers. I think that's even if combat jump can get you to softcap so I'd still choose haste over cj. LotGs I would have in a Inv/SS wherever poss and Haste. Around that softcap to all but psi def is still achieve-able.
Rechg helps speed up alot of powers such as rage, all of your attacks as well as dullpain, increasing dps possibly if you have the end rec to cover it, plus in my case conserve energy so I do cover it. With Rage and Tohit in Invincible you can get by on a little less acc than other tanks making you able to go with slightly more end red in place of acc in PvE mainly. -
Mind Emps can be very busy, if you proactive buff that's a chunk of time gone, should you controlling instead of buffing or buffing instead of controlling? There is always one or the other, every power you use has a cast time and for the moment your locked out of using another power.
Prioritizing correctly as to what should be when is something that's rivalled by other peoples ability to be unpredictable. Quite frankly I give it to people that I made a controller, not their buff bot, I'd sooner people played with mobs under control than shoot in and need healing.
I know it can be best at times to buff someone else for the pace but sometimes you end up with some lunatics who think thats the case with their characters plus I normally don't like doing some empaths job who seems to think they are there to sit back and spam heals when needed asap.
There are Mind/Emps doing their job and that of the defender but people can't expect too many operations to happen at once, every power has a cast time and Mind/Emps will have to prioritize. I take it that due to the amount of control Mind/Emps can have overtime the Emp side isn't that important if the team aren't gung ho. Mind/Emp players just don't mind read. /Empathy is much easier for control sets with pets, especially illusion, because the control side of things is pretty much being taken care of, and so is the damage side. Mind control can make things smooth and easy, using Mass Hyp but some people like to wake the world and his mum up with fireball and then expect heals. -
Quote:Source?A big ref that now claims to be a 'physical and emotional wreck' and calling the match 'going through a hell'. What ref can you be, unable to surive such match? Yes perhaps rough, but a ref of such degree should've seen far worse matches.
It's on record now, that was the worst team England have ever had. There was one fierce team, well a team of thugs and that was Holland.
Lets not look at the ref too much, the rules were broken by the players and he could only call it on what he saw. People faking pain one sec and up and at it moment later is quite common. -
I got Sonic Repulsion on my Corrupter. It's just an on off type power normally to get someone out of hot water. Never used it on say a Dark Brute because of they require mobs on them to survive (okay maybe I have on a mate for fun) but it got those who could do without the melee a moment of space. Too end costly, finding someone who can control the direction of repel proved difficult should we be trying to bank mobs in a dead end. Can't say I ever noticed it being a Gale like effect. It could be with someone directing mobs well. I saw it as giving an ally a Pbaoe repel.

Quote:I agree, let the Brute fix up the mobs, do a bit of damage, recieve some buffs if necessary, "be saved by the tankers entry", then let the team finish up as the Brute runs on.Sorry, should expand on that. No brute is going to enjoy a tank on a gr team running off to herd like you can still get blue side The Herding to Here on every single spawn type.
A brute would much prefer to do as you say, take the alpha themselves to angry up the blood.
Herding=Tending
Aggro cap is 17, on an 8 man team you may as well run into that one group, consider that the group has moved 3ft perhaps and so have been herded. I don't often see anyone going for the map anymore, and when they do they often cause problems. Congalines however can still be done correctly and are a joy. -
I think you can go a few different ways with Inv/SS. If you have a Mids builder and more info about what you like to get upto it'll help. You can soft cap to all but Psi with one build and then have a Psi def and Res second build which has good end recovery if you wanted or do what some people do, gain soft cap in S/L so that they can tank Lord Recluse the way they like to tank Lord Recluse.
It's always best if people see what sort of a build you do and in a way it speeds things up for them. Most people use Mids Herobuilder. Sometimes you can spend time on a build or a post of advice, say an hour and never know if that person ever read any of it. There is plenty of stuff floating about the forums ie guides as well. -
Some team leaders are too controlling, sometimes what looks like a stupid attempt at soloing a group was infact an aggro check before the group made a random perception check. Unless they know every powerset in the game they tend to come up short in being clever. I often shoot off into the next group, it's called making preparations but you could get Divas who disappear spawning ambush after ambush for the team working their way through steadily. Bite sized players who haven't IO'd their toons do exist and so they should be thought of. If it weren't for their subs the game would be done and dusted by now.

Elec/Elec should be about the end drain as much as damage to get the most out of it. I would be stacking Short Circuit with Powersink then relying on the Field to keep enemies end rec from getting back up. That'll be the basis and every thing else would come from other needs in the process. I would only use the Field on a set amount of targets+. On a single target the enemies end rec can be held back with the Fence. I then can play other blasters for other reasons and have them gain survivability some other way.
-
Quote:Your kidding me? It's that playstyle for my Brute or I am logging. (My Brutes survivability is often linked to needing some numbers). For example no Brute is going to enjoy a Herding Tank playstyle very much (and why would they
)
On topic, couldn't give a monkeys, either are welcome and fine. -
I definitely didn't enjoy watching the Dutchmans overly inaccurate tackles. I don't know if Dutch TV shows the Flying Monkey Crazy Horse Kick or just how bad the tackles had been from their team but they were on the whole either aggressive or inaccurate most of the time. The ref made some judgements sometimes a bit too lenient and sometimes a bit too harsh but really he has to call it as he sees it and try to calm the game I guess.
Am glad Spain got on with it, stuck to their game and they deserved to win, as it was with other refs there could of been atleast a couple of Holland players red carded. Not the kind of match I was hoping to see.
He's a big ref and prolly doesn't think that people could of been hurt that much. -

Btw, the women's pun was a joke, I'm not sexist plus I have better things to do than look for pictures of bullfighters to send you, but hey, feel free to delete any PM's I might send you since they'll surely be sent by mistake.
Anyway, Germany Uruguay was good? I was a little unbiased on that one. I had been really appreciating Suarez's play. I was with a German woman too, but she was alittle bit unbiased as well as she only hoped that the winners deserved to win. Didn't that Octopus predict Germany to win today and Spain tomorrow? -
I don't like my healthbar not moving and some support can be required. With a defender or controller in the team you can push the envelope a bit more. Risk equals more fun, a tanker that is immortal would bore me. I know its what a lot of people want but they dont take no skill to play.

Quote:You have to get through the entire STF, you can't get through it on one secondary and one power pool alone. Infact I don't think the tactic which your thinking of can be used in every instance versus all the AVs due to the maps (I was opposed to the changes that made this tactic achieveable at the time the change was on test btw, I don't need it and it dumbs the game down). As a scrapper its a good option as there is no point denting LR while he can't be dented, your threat has to be higher than all others but then there can be a problem with AI. It's like anything ingame, upto people what they want to do, how they want to play. Saving the World is a type of mission that the words "by any means possible" shouldn't have to be said, but with Mo's I like to think people do their own thing. You confuse me sometimes, New Dawn. I don't think the tactic you're describing is a very useful tool to base the strength of a set. After all, you wouldn't even be using Dark Armor (or any Tanker primary) at that point... just one power from a Tanker secondary and one pool power.
The posts weren't connected in anyway. It's not like I have one thing in my head.
