Quote:It would "save time" if you had suppressed human form toggles when shifted. When you unshift they will no longer be suppressed. I like that. They wouldn't be passives as they cost in endurance. If someone is a shapeshifter, why would they decide to wait a few seconds, change their shape in mid combat, only to fire off the same four blast attacks? From what i've been reading here, that really kills the synergy of the human abilities, and the form powers.
They're not actually the same 4 attacks you can get in human form. The base range is longer.
Warshades can't fly without outside assistance and use them 4 attacks in Human Form, therefore Nova is more useful to a Warshade than it is to a Peacebringer.
Range is useful to outrange, by outranging you reduce potential dps to self also in the threat formula your threat level is reduced over range which is something that can be taken advantage of. -
Both Tri Form Warshades and Tri Form Peacebringers have enough slots available to slot out attacks well enough, whilst having perma LF and Inner LF almost perma. However you might be trading between dps and flexibility.
Dwarf to direct npcs away from your team mates in trouble, basically tank. Also Break Free from mezzes.
Nova to survive and maintain damage versus some enemies in some cases where Human Form definitely won't.
In no way should Khelds compete at the same level with another ATs main role. Some weaknesses are by design, it's hardly worth pleading poor when other ATs share in same weaknesses. Warshades and Peacebringers are meant to need eachother at times. They're not meant to each be Jack with every tool in the box, just Jack of all Trades. An all Kheld team should be better mixed rather than of one type.
Atm people don't like the KB Peacebringers can do and many other things. Shape shifting isn't quick enough to people and toggles could stay on although be suppressed when doing so. Me personally I have little complaint.
To work out whats wrong with Peacebringers or Warshades I will have to compare them to VEATs rather than eachother. I will slap VEATs into excel sometime this week hopefully to compare but given their tree structure there are 5 themed outcomes and plenty more unthemed. Because the team buff the Kheld, the Kheld should perform better for the team but is it of equal value to what a VEAT (single) can bring? What VEATs can do for team mates essentially comes down to allowing them to get away with mistakes by cutting corners or being less tactless than they normally need to be.
However Kheldians are well pieced together, every power on offer adds a form of flexibility. Everyone can skip the same powers but then perhaps be limited from achieving certain goals that can be potentially achieved by design.
I personally don't give a toot whats in team, everyone should know their assets, using the assets of different people we can normally always come up with a suitable answer to deal with a problem. Every AT, through its powers can be put to use as a duct tape version of another AT. I would tank Ghost Widow using a SO'd Peacebringer as a defender with a SO'd Firetank, for me the tools are there and the answer is therefore simple. -
Quote:In all of 5 mins I took what you did to and made changes to it to better suit me. Some of what I like including 3 attacks of Nova having 120ft range, Dwarf has taunt 6 slotted. Stuff that suits me.This isn't MY build, but I took your build and made some changes to it, with your restrictions in mind.

All comments that are applicable to the OPs initial posts could be updated to the initial posts. All other comments are just padding. The OPs posts might continue to be updated unbiasedly therefore arguments and derails might waste Aetts time. I trust a Dev to look at something and take a 1 sec decision on it where necessary.

People don't always title the topic well enough. Also I would read half a line before finding out its not the AT I feel that I can really help with. Half the time you respond nothing is responded back and so ya never know if it was worth the time.
In AT sections people collect, they think up and share ideas, that's where people should read a title and immediately know which AT it is. Even if no one responds to the assistance, multiple viewpoints are there to absorb. -
Quote:I am the longest original hater of second tanks that I know. I have been called all kinds of things for being so, one of my favourites was being called a Tanking Snob, I gladly admitted to it but its not about the AT itself for me its simply about team work. I do not often see 2 tankers maximizing the teams potential, I see one doing the main work and the other I haven't got a clue what they do half the time. Not everyone thinks there are major problems. The only thing that I would like to find is a way to make it less "undesirable" to have more then one tank on a team. Right now there's a stigma that a second tank on a team doesn't create a "force multiplier" or add as much as another AT, so "why bring another?".
-
I am not saying you were doing the same thing but what I often see is some "Pro" or "Star" pushing forward only to bite more than they can chew whilst the rest of the team plays a bit more conservatively. I tend to do it on my SR scrapper but she's the only character I do it with as she does get away with murder a lot of the time. I suppose its part cos I don't always think the team needs me and in part cos I don't think I need team and put fun first. I suppose if I was on an Mo I'd behave.

Yeah I name saved a character on Virtue and looked in Channel Search and there was a MM channel with 600 members just 8 online.
-
Is this gonna pick up with regularity? If so I'll be tempted to move my MM to Virtue.
I joined the Mastermind Channel, saved my characters name on Virtue in case I transfer and will monitor how much goes or doesnt go on. -
I went with SR some may say suicide but bare in mind I can pretty much throw my SR scrapper at the game and so forth anyway so I am not thinking suicide at all. What I am worried about is the heightened eps that I am going to get from super charging TW, something with +end might be better but I will look to overcome end issues one way or another. Cups always half full.

On the single target strikes Dwarf or Human as a minimum for balance purposes I would keep the chances as they are and make them all Knock up.
Reasoning being that PBs are locked out of flight pool, Air Sup is basically what they're spreading by chance over single target attacks but with Kb. So just turn them all into Kup.
Any of the Flares aren't too team friendly being Kb, knocking mobs apart does nothing for peoples cone attacks mainly then debuff toggles then aoe attacks. This might be the main reason for speed run exclusion.
I am not one for massive changes as I do feel I see that PBs and WS are somewhere ballpark right. -
This has been of much amusement to me. How many people replied to you at all? Am I that bad a person? I thought I gave away enough clues as to what I do, enough to actually tell you without posting my build as there are several ways of achieving it should people want to achieve it. I have PVPed people and then told them what their build is like near enough myself. I really don't get the whole on the plate business. You could hate me but who else replied? Do you go on hating the world?
You can give up on it, I could of taken your last build and made it something nearer what I would like but with me alone replying to the thread pretty much that doesn't make for much of a sample choice.
3 Nova attacks can reach 120ft, this can be done in 3 slots each, trade off slotting something like Pulsar because many who 45% s/l skip Pulsar or something like Proton Scatter Human Form. Also when it comes to my Dwarf Form, I like to do dam and tank, Antagonize has 6 slots to do that well and there are great bonuses there. For me, I do that, one way, you can do it anyway ya like.
You're not the only person interested, you've been alienating someone else who as yet can't give you state of the art due to permissions. I never post my own builds but plenty of other peoples builds have been posted in this section over the past which is all useful for research. From past posts and suggestions you can keep on top, I do it with Tankers all the time. -
It's lovely. Great for the quick n dirty
-
I don't know about anybody else but I am seeing way too many thoughts on improving Tankers when in reality they're not exactly the black sheep of the family.
1) Can Tankers serve their function?
2) Are they regularly played enough?
3) What the hell should 3 be?
I see performance disparities amongst the secondaries but really thats because things are balanced to the endurance bar and when end recovery is sufficient the only thing left to balance them to is time, and people see difference performance levels over time.
Proliferated sets brought to the Tanker role may still be in need of some adjustment.
Tankers may be better at their duty if undisputable aggro control through taunt control was potentially achievable.
But for me the Tanker is hardly the one-eyed, peg-legged, Captain Hook of all the ATs. -

I swear there is just as much stupidity to my own builds as there is cleverness. People do like to do different things. What I may build is based on anticipation of rarely seen things whilst some people like to build based on something they do often like soloing an AV or a Rikti Pylon. There is no one build does all.....
Although using Two Headed Boys PB build which ya know he likes to keep private some small sacrifices can be made here and there to be not only good at its original intent but also be flexible to other intents.
I have 3 builds on me for purped up PBs using THB's initial build:
His initial build was great Human form, Dwarf to set mule, 45% def s/l and then perma LF and IL.
Iirc I sacrificed some AoE DPS for some control (Pulsar) and for some more Dwarf Tankiness and also to make the second build mirror his WS more. The damage sacrificed didn't take too much away from competing with the WS.
Then to make the third build I pinched some slots that could be got away with from sacrificing Pulsar to have a Nova what did good damage with min. 3 attacks from 120 ft away. Giving an Outranger.
That'll be 3 builds I can't post because the core of them is THBs ideas.
My build, what I play lacks in terms of DPS and defense for the sake of flexibility compared to THBs. I am not gonna purp a PB cos if anything I am more inclined to IO set other 50s (I have so many 50s I sell purps to IO set them all really). It was easier to work back from THBs and make some sacrifices to gain the same flexibilities as my PB but for two flexibilities I think.
So lets say there is this "State of the Art Build" that I might have it's "not the build I play" as there are no purps, its a modification of THBs as far as I can give you and without his permission to post it we are stuck on that note.
So just because I wouldn't play Redlynnes build doesn't mean I had a better one. If I do have an out and out good one then ya got to get THBs permission to see the core of it, or all 3 builds because that is what I would call nearer state of the art atm. -
Debuffs won't add to the threat equation by much.
If a persons acquirable threat was assisted by their total hitpoints that might be good, but then Brutes might lose aggro to an autowin by Tankers. -
In the bottom part you've lost the Dwarf forms on the Khelds.
But despite that I have very little problem with the way things are now.
I am an attention ***** on a tank, so really the only problem I have is with Brutes getting all the attention vs an AV because "they can" rather than because "they're preventing the team from being compromised" and a Tanker not necessarily able to do a thing about it.
I do trust the Devs a hell of a lot and as a player of all ATs I currently see things as rather fair. Different ATs can assume different roles but just simply ain't as reliable at a role that is another ATs main role. Mileages will vary. -
Quote:I am saying that you do not need another defender or controller helping that one defender keep everyone alive. I am not saying the defender is soloing the spawn. Again this only applies to non-TA defenders. Call it myth if you want but I have done it and seen it.
My TA is on Defiant, I was playing her for about a year 2006 and in that year I was the sole defender for teams at times. I yearned for those times. This is really before IO sets I think. I really thought Defiant was the bees knees at the time, because not only did many of the players play to my TAs strengths but many were also cooperative in moments of possible impending doom to learn to play to them.
We're not expected to all have the battle prowess of a Rikti monkey on LSD and survive by any type of defender. You take a typical plausible team of ATs, I think that team can plausibly Mo the STF with the TA for a defender. The tools are there, but they're not great without players who can work within the limitations of them. My empath can't heal through walls, defenders who debuff by so much more than TA can't always keep their debuffs up for as long because someone has killed the sodding anchor first thing, all defenders have limits. Play within or die.
I refute the idea that the TA would only fail if it was the only support set in a team for anything below Itrials or perhaps LGTF, the Hami part but then I can mmm and aaah over that bit. I say that because I probably don't know Itrials half as well.
What I am noticing that when it comes to balance, it's how much time it takes for things to potentially get done that differs with different sets within an AT, not whether or not they can get done. I am not saying TA is slowest because its not just that in a race some sets are more preferable. -
Quote:Everytime I read someones words, there is sometimes a line I could take more than one way. It's so easy to get the wrong message from someone. I try to take the line in the best light possible and then merely add a +1 post to address it which may draw out more so I do get the correct tone.I don't think this response was warranted, though I suppose it's possible I'm misreading a tone.
In this case I draw no conclusion.
First off, it is rare for me to post any build of mine. I shared my Sonic/Sonic build once which is a first in 5 years. It's just a rule, if I do, then its done via a PM. Two Headed Boy recently PM'd me his actually "awesome" build and I can not without his permission post it. He is like me. I am a black hole of secrets.
With my builds they suit me, they're what I am happy with doing. Redlynne may just as well look at mine think "I couldn't play that". None of my builds are what I think other people should play at all, we should all derive our own conclusions to what we need, be challenged and hopefully overcome any challenges on our own merit.
Lets say me and a whole team of khelds defeated Ghost Widow, no defeats our side. It's plausible, some people won't know how, some people would spend time saying pics or it didn't happen whilst some people would go 1+1=2, but we should all know that human form PB does -fly in its attacks, a PB can grp fly if it wanted, Novas can outrange Ghost Widow, Antagonize now does -range. The choice of how things might of been done are there.
My Peacebringer is designed to be the swiss army knife, the skeleton key to how things can be done in a world of other khelds building for other assets.
The fact I didn't post my build is nothing new, there is nothing "awesome" about it. It's just flexible, by being flexible its something I would play.
If Redlynnes build is a great build for Redlynne then great. There is no holy grail build that suits all. -
I've been playing since March 2005 and do not see anything broken. What's been described here so far doesn't sound broken and as far as what Arcanaville knows more than others when it comes to aggro it's probably AI related.
However each new patch can bring something new, and whats described here although sounds like nothing new could be new. -
That is all.
I thought to myself. I couldn't play that, but then that's it. The Peacebringer is a different entity to different people.
I need to have Dwarf to tank the snot out of as much as I can, so the taunt is 6 slotted and me likes my damage so its clear on that as yours is.
Then Nova Form, 3 blasts have a range of 100ft, I make them able to hit 120ft, by outranging much I minimise much of enemies dps on self whilst hurting them.
In human form I like to do damage with all my attacks too, if possible. Also once again the maligned Pulsar is excluded from your build but for me its lush, I'm effectively controlling mobs which could not just be for myself but for others too.
I have no doubt ya build is a fun toon, which is the important thing and ya can quite happily not die getting through a +3 ITF with some PuG. You've given yourself +regen which is helpful across all forms where as I gave myself less to get hit by. -
A Tank thats Dark/certain sets of certain levels, running into a heavy amount of tohit debuffs at same levels is a balance flaw to me and the only balance flaw I noticed really.
-
I agree with Psylenz. If anything hitting with a weapon designed to bone break would slow momentum not build it. Hit or Miss momentum could be gained. If anything after certain attacks are used there could be a momentum reset, as those attacks do not flow into other attacks.
