  1. *Shrug* I give away inf all the time to teammates and in zones, often asking if any of them (teammates) need any inf for IOs.
I also tend to list purples below the last 5 for rapid sales.

Really wish the prices would be lower. Not entirely convinced it's 'what the buyer wants to pay', as I've bid for LOTG 7.5s at 1,000, 100,000, 1,000,000, 10,000,000, in varying increments and not often got them in that range. They were around 60-70,000,000 heroside a little while back. Imagine my surprise when I got a few on both sides through Merit rolls and they were 100,000,000 heroside and 120,000,000 villainside.

I guess mucho inf production + no inf removed from game = tons of cash thrown at stuff. I certainly don't begrudge people selling them for high amounts as I do that myself at times.
I do know that I'll be running more high-level content (ITFs, farms, etc) to increase the supply of purples, though.
  2. I won't be angry but I will be disappointed if AE doesn't get 2XP as well, as it means I'll get about half the new number of 50s I would normally during 2XP, as well as having to head to Nerva/Grandville/Peregine Island/Train for farming instead of just AE.

So yeah, 2XP in AE please.
  3. On the fence about this one, no temp power is a downer.

The Super Tailor feature is great and interesting...but I don't have enough concepts for it, to be honest.

If the items and emotes look snazzy ingame I might grab it.
  4. Feels like home?

Pick up your damned socks and hang your cape in the closet.
Don't forget to bring out the garbage tonight...beat Skulls all day will you.
  5. Warburg/Mal Exploit.

You used to be able to hit Warburg and select your HO from the menu after LRSF/States and get a 52, or you exemplared down before the final kill and got a 52.
  6. Alright, I'm done, yo.

    This is

    She's an Earth/Rad Controller!

    Three-Mile KitKat

Best-selling Bio that would get me Dev's Choice if they had time to hop over here.

Though the incidents at Three Mile Island are far behind us and lost from the collective thought process, some people were there and have been irrevocably changed by them.

Annie Heslup was an Atomic Resarcher working in an office far away from the commotion when all hell broke loose. She tried to follow the office's emergency evacuation plan, but she got knocked over by the panicked crowd and found herself irradiated to the point of contamination. The medical establishment pronounced her unfit to survive, giving her at best a three month window of life. Undeterred, she sought help 'outside the box', from a man in Paragon City called Positron. After some additional testing at Hero Corps offices, it was determined Annie could manipulate the Earth's uppermost surface and channel her radiation to heal or weaken other entities. Conflicted, she set foot in Steel Canyon to find her way as a hero...

(P.S. I'll take the 50 mil in small bills, like Respites. That's 1,000,000 Respites by my count. You can get Alla to put them in a briefcase. We'll meet in Pocket D under the caged dancers.)

Bonus points: You can make lewd jokes with the "Three Mile" reference...assuming your alt ever gets on a plane.
More bonus points: No Vet Rewards or purchaseable items were used in making this costume. Some ouzo was, though.
  7. We can haz email you the costume somehow?

Working on something right now...I'll take a screenie or something soon.
  8. Removing AE from Galaxy, Atlas and Mercy is a start.
Having the players do the AE Tutorial BEFORE being able to use the Architect might be a good idea too.
  9. Neuronia

    Remove AE!

    [ QUOTE ]

It is becoming pretty clear that the infestation in the AE is so bad that the whole building needs to be come down and be rebuilt to get all the bugs out ... or in this case exploitative "farmers". I tend to think that all farmer are exploiting the game, but the ones in the AE are far worse than "normal" farmers were before the AE release.

Some of the worse part of the destruction of new player experience is that obnoxious behavior of what seems to be many of the individuals that have come from other games to take advantage of the abuses that the MA allows. And I'm serious about that. Since AE has been released there has been a large influx of individuals that aren't standard CoX players.

    Wow...where do I begin.

In the past four days I have:

Maled down to help new villain mates.
Worked on a new pop culture arc
    Ran a TF
    PvPd
Done a little farming in AE
Done a little farming outside AE (whee Accolades...)
    Marketed

    AE is fine.
If you *Want* to find stories to run, you can.
If you *Want* to find something to level you quickly, you can.
If you *Want* to create something yourself, you can do that too!

Hey look, it's like Nethergoat was right when he said that a bunch of the stuff would be crap and there would be some truly memorable moments as well.

Guess what, the Ticket system has enabled Pool A and the occasional Pool B and C drop to find themselves onto the Market. And they allow you to get RICHER by selling salvage or those rolls. Tickets can also be used to get more maps.

Take away AE and you know what? People will farm map X to level their alts with their perma 46s. It's not going to stop.

If you do not wish to farm in AE, don't.
If I wish to write stories, I will (new one should be out next week).
If I want to challenge myself in AE, I'll do that too!

What you're missing in your grandiose "XP Puritan" rant is that AE is also a way to challenge extremely twinked characters. I have a friend that piles craploads of mobs into corners then Electric Melees them into the ground.

The Hollows are empty? No one has gone there since you could get jet packs in Kings Row. CoH has a crapload of zones no one attends to.

The Devs will nerf the obvious exploitive stuff and the rest will stay.

P.S. Imagine if they did remove it...how utterly clueless the company would look: "Paragon Studios removed an entire issue's worth of content because players were taking advantage of its features!"

  10. Already registered and glhf next week Jade and Team Hugs.
  11. Yeah, the problem with price caps is that people would just sell offmarket.

If you want stuff to go down in price, provide more of it basically.

    Pie in the sky stuff:

    * Ask the Devs to seed the Market with tens of thousands of Purples, PvP IOs, Uniques at all levels, etc etc.

Heh, that's not going to happen of course. There really isn't an easy solution because of the system we have.

    * Perhaps if you couldn't resell an item you just bought (throughout your account, to prevent alt swapping) for a period...which doesn't seem like it would work either.

    * Purple Booster! - Obtain all Purples for 4.99 + applicable sales taxes! They'd simply set up a Purple merhcant, you hand them your tokens and cash them in for Purples. Hehe, even more pie in the sky.

Actually, the simpler solution might just be a higher game pop. More people playing = more production of items = more items in circulation etc. Or increasing the drop rate such that people can obtain X item in X time played. In this manner, you could add Purps to Merit tables (though they'd have to be pricey...) and even Tickets (likely unfeasible because of the rapdity of reaching Ticket cap).

Edit: Heh, some guy just self-destructed at the Mercy market here in front of my Therm, too busy selling Salvage to help out sadly.

I wouldn't mind them revisiting the Market 'soon', either a Merge or a revamp of the Market engine/display/info available or something...the Market's been pretty unchanged so far...

It's very easy for one person to place 40 bids for 40 infamy total and bad up the numbers. I have never bothered adding deception to my bidding in this way, but the "# bidding" number must be taken with extreme skepticism, as regardless of the number, no bid is necessarily a "serious" bid.

I've listed things (even expensive things) at 1 and had them sell for higher than the last 5, but I wouldn't count on it.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I <3 this technique. Get so many good things like that.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I've used this as well, but only to sell low-churn items that haev a high price. Eventually people see 10-12 more bids than usual, price goes to my point and the item moves. Usually don't get much above equilibrium, but surprises do happen.

As for the OP, you can sometimes get small windfalls like that. I remember listing some odd-level crafted Posi bit (level 37 or something) and cashing in 20 mil redside...of course that is redside where scarcity primes.
  13. It's off datamining. They can see how much of a 'burst' of XP your character is getting in a period of time. When the imps were around, you could easily gain a level a minute, heck maybe more than that if you had enough damage.

I know a couple people that got toons deleted because of that map...they made 1-50 in about...I'd say 4-6 hours easy.

Think if you're going 1-50 in 1-3 or 4 hours it'll raise eyebrows; can't say offiically of course because I don't know their metric. Besides which, I'm pretty sure they survey which maps you were on as well as a measuring stick...those get hit with the "Invalid" marker.

TLDR: I'd imagine 1-50 in under 2-3 hours would raise eyebrows, but I do not expect any deletions/etc. Grain of salt of course, as I do not know their metric or intentions.
  14. Hehe.

I recommend a few VEATs and a Mind Dom for max success.
I mostly run these on Infinity these days, but glhf. If my Therm were 50 I'd help out. She's logged at 33 atm (Champion vills is slow slogging )
  15. Having money on my namesake and my villain main means my alts are funded. I sell recipes and crafted IOs on the Market so others can use it, profits flowing therefrom. Of course my lowbies sell their drops as well, but I'm usually too busy doing missions/AE/PvPing to do anything more than vendor common recipes or Market salvage/occasional drops.

I have flipped some stuff but it's not very enjoyable to me. I see the Market more as a store. If (outside Purples and PvP IOs of course) I don't like the price at the 'store' then I get it with tickets or Merits. If I like the price at the 'store' I use it.

In the end, it's a fun minigame and the Market lets me fill in blanks in my sets (though to be fair, this is a longer and more tedious process redside). I do have several characters sitting on bunches of inf and not doing much with it, as does my regular play partner.

I have proof as well. I may not have recorded chat info, but I know for sure that when I was playing on my villain and Twixt was there, he was taunting the opposing side one way or another. So really, that entire article is bull. He's not some innocent guy the story makes him out to be.

Edit: I forgot to add in that he's also a hypocrite.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    "Ho ho, moar phase lootboi."

Was one of his favourite phrases.

Twixt never griefed. Droning people isn't griefing. He did make Haikus, which may be griefing that writing form but he never, to my knowledge at least, made personal threats or invectives on others.

    Twixt:

    *Fly up to about 80'
    *Queue Teleport Foe on someone
    *Hit Touch of Fear
*Let mobs follow up or even attack them

Or he'd just TP you into a Heavy. People would get SO MAD at him. The funny thing is he could fight back quite well, I remember M3zm3r1ze saying VORI hunted him down once and they had a hard time of it...possibly made a Youtube.

The Prof ably demonstrated that people will apply rules of etiquette and such when in a new setting. People also have a concept of 'fair' in events, no doubt from real life strictures of gaming/sports that is removed in these zones.

To be fair, as annoying as Twixt was I never saw (or least experienced) him TPing into those small towers or whatnot...you did get debt at times tough.

  17. Nice practices John, you guys have your stuff together.
Damn shame we have to wait till the last week to fight you.

Have a feeling it's either going to be a massive blowout for one side or one of those games where a single mistake is the difference.

Cheers and have a good week.
  18. Mothers and Fathers, the good ones even moreso, are heroes.

    All the best to Maverick.

Got one of those so far, woot.

Yeah, the problem with the League (and well, with any League) is that some teams are coordinated and rolling over other people while others aren't...so you get very lopsided kills.

Is the Blaster/Scrapper/Brute that finishes the League with 80 kills the MvP or is the other player that keeps others bogged down/buffed while evading an MvP?

In the end, I think the finalists in those Leagues will be the most experienced teams...and the ensuing damage spam will indicate a winner.
  20. Standings

    LOL RPvP 4-0
    Facegrape 3-0
    Hugs 3-1
    Chibbles & Bits 2-1
    3-Way 2-1
    Team h4z-b33|\|z 2-1
    Love the Turtles 2-1
    That Damn Good 2-2
    OMFGHAX 1-2
YOUR FACE! 0-1 (several matches to be rescheduled)
    CLD 0-3
WAI 0-3-1 (One of matches was 'no winner')
KGB 0-3-1 (One of matches was 'no winner')
  21. The biggest problem is that people applied 'mob' rules to the zones. In the zones, some people will play for rep while others will play for the player vs. player combat while others still will 'grief'.

Twixt's entire strategy was overcome by two simple inspirations:

    Sturdy
    BReak Free

If you eat a Sturdy you can't be TP Foed.
If you eat a Break Free you can escape Touch of Fear.

Now, he DID use Heavies and mobs as well...and did taunt using Broadcast (which you can shut off).
There is a player similar to Twixt on Pinnacle called XFunk. He plays a Brute and will literally hunt anyone and everyone in the zone...people genuinely despise him. Of course, he *will* fight you as well...so I can see the differences between Twixt and Funk.

All in all, this wasn't much of an experiment...people will always apply their own societal/personal/cultural rules in areas where they don't know social strictures. There aren't any social stricutures in PvP zones...this is what upsets people.
You can come to a general agreement though, I suppose on what's fair or not.

I won't be buying the book but you cannot deny Twixt made quite a name for himself in the zones.
  22. Rep is mostly for zones. You get a number assigned to you when you defeat a player or your team defeats a player. Previously, you could only get rep from defeating the same player once every 10 minutes...this has been changed to every 5 minutes apparently.

So in this case, if you got a rep point in Arena off a kill, you get a chance for a PvP drop. Looks like you want to be triple or quad boxing your farm target, since rep get split among your team...
  23. Nope, I was there too...we were waiting for KGB to show.
Match was in Troll caves. One side had an ill/storm, Storm/?, Fire/Em other had a FIre/Rad, Fire/Fire Blaster and a Storm/Sonic.

That's all I remember at the top of my head, but the League standings (by Wins, Losses, etc...) are on the PvP Schedule thread.
