  1. While the pack itself is mediocre, it might have generated some impulse buys if it had launched prior to the Hallowe'en event and Zombie Apocalypse. People would have been lured to the shinies and spent a few more dollars. As is, with the event ending tomorrow this is as enjoyable as having a babel fish rammed into my ear when surrounded by like native speakers.

    Will be skipping this one.

    Xanatos proposed some kind of redraft where you could jettison inactives and so on and pick up others. Wouldn't be a bad idea; think something like that happened in the last Freedom league when Rice's team picked up the remainders of Kat's team.
  4. I don't have a problem with the top seed picking their first round opponent. You'd still need to have others play off somehow though, and that would leave one or two teams in the cold that did not make it in.

    This is laudable.

    However, you don't want to get into how the old NHL was with the Adams/Patrick/Norris/etc. diviisions and you had really bad teams making the playoffs because 4 out of 5 teams made it in each year....and they were basically speed bumps (I'm looking at your Hartford and 1980s-early 90s Toronto) for the teams that would be perennial contenders. Unlike irl sports there aren't really injuries/media/etc here...it's a video game. Sure you have people with better rigs, teams, skill and that's 100% fine.

    If you want everyone to be in it, do it like this:

    1 fights 2.

    3 fights 6.
    4 fights 5.

    Winner of 1 vs. 2 gets a bye into finals.
    Winner of lower matchups play off.
    Top team (1) fights remaining team (3-6).
    Winner is declared.

    There are a lot of permutations you can go through. I mean MLB has what...four or six teams making the playoffs, NHL has 16 of 30, NFL has ?. Playoffs should be attained on merit, not parity.
  6. I'm not sure why WARE needs to fight two teams, one of which they would not normally be fighting anyway.

    Right now it's looking like:

    1.WAREwolves
    2.Exile
    3.Shenanigans/FAp
    4.Honey Badgers/FAP/?

    So WARE meets us in the playoffs, all things fall in place they advance to the second round and face Exile/whomever, then likely win (barring upsets, new starts/lineups, clutch plays, etc. etc. etc).

    WARE would NEVER be fighting the 3 seed...so why have them fight again?

    It should be:

    Team 1 vs. 4
    Team 2 vs. 3

    Winner of 1 vs. 4 vs. winner of 2 vs. 3
    Final winner declared.

    If you want all teams in the playoffs just have the best teams face each other and the lower seeds face each other them figure it out from there.
    Not really seeing any reasons to change current format...teams just need to gel/step their games up to get higher rankings.

  8. My main account was 3 month recurring and down to one month.
    My second accout is one month recurring but I vacillate each month.

    I'd really like to see attention given to forgotten issues (bases, PvP, cleaning up IO system, etc.) instead of trials and more trials.
    A nice quality of life issue would go a long way with me.

    Don't see the harm in it; the longer a person plays the longer they pay. If they do more missions they will keep at it. Win win.

  11. FINALLY HARLEQUIN IS AVAILABLE.

    Just bought three times.

    One question though, it says it is temporary.
    I do not want ti to disappear after December (or whenever).
    Will it go into "Inherent" with the rest of my codes or am I going to have to keep paying 480 points forever?

    Also, yes people do go to cons JUST for these. As a matter of fact, I've asked a friend that lives in Riverside to go to cons to get us these codes. They are AWESOME.

    I must be the weirdest marketeer out there, don`t think I`ve ever flipped a single item. Everything has come from Merit rolls (locked at 33), regular play crafting and sales and speed-running STF and the occasional PvP IO drop in Arena.

    Lazy and aware I guess is my category...I`m almost to my goal of escaping "High-end poverty" in being able to buy 4 of any item in the game at a whim...(including off-market items).

    Extra market slots are convenient but not game-breaking. I`ve pulled in a ton of inf lately not due to those, but due to unslotters, which have allowed me to gain back my stranded level 52 Hamis and pvp IOs as well...all to the market for a hefty return.

    We don`t even know how much it would cost for these purples. If it`s less than getting X billion from RMT or the time required to get X billion, no one will buy them...

    $100 is a lot. I`d pay maybe $25 or so for that...maybe a little more. I would only get it if I could choose my slotting and get vouchers for IOs and it had accolades...and I would use it to PvP, of course.

  17. Nice to see new trials but one thing keeps bugging me:

    Why isn't Praetoria retaliating toward us? They have sent strike forces in so that's fine, but so far our Primal Forces have invaded Lambda Sector, the Behavioural Adjustment Facility, Keyes Island and the Undergound, yet nothing is happening on our side.

    Not to put too fine a point on it, but when a sovereign nation is attacked in the real world, there is either some heavy diplomacy going on or an invasion in retaliation. I find it extremely hard to believe that Cole is just taking this all in, even with the conceits of a City of Heroes and so on.

    *runs screaming*.

    Rulu-Shin: "We'll take the north vault."



    Otherwise it was pretty nice seeing an old favourite spiced up with the Rulu-Shin. I still haven't gathered why they are around the Hamidon, thinking they want to set it loose to cause more havoc when Rularuu returns, I may have misssed something in the clues.

    Have you tried some tier 3 or even tier 4 versions? That should be enough to defeat him. Use some big reds, a few big oranges and maybe a green or three. I'd be glad to help out if I have a character on your server.

    I like the new picture of Numina, makes her look good for a dead folk.

    I might have missed something, but not sure why the Rulu-Shin are in the Abyss...I took it that they're trying to harness Hamidon's power (he's becoming the new Terra Volta reactor...everyone wants a turn) or somesuch, I'll read the clues a little closer next time.

    Overall I enjoyed the arc. Still think it's Nemesis/Cole though.

    Remove it from Arena, tweak it for zones. Basically there should be a small amount of TS when Melee attack, but that's it. You should not be getting TSd when you hit an inspiration, buff, etc.

    The new hold system ensures you're going to die sometime, as does the two minute Phase timer. Since you always get held for a limited amount of time, this will allow the damage spam to get through.

    Maybe Zwillinger actually had a constructive, almost hour chat with a bunch of us when PvP University ended. Maybe Zwillinger is still in the Freedom ladder and gathering opinions and such. Maybe now that PvP is on the radar again the Devs can make some changes, if not wholesale, to the system.

    Yeah I also got my points today and would really like a set date in my Master Account for the tokens. That was the great thing about vet rewards, it told you when the next one was coming. Not really liking the nebulous "Limited Time" on Tier 9 VIP rewards either...if I wait it out until November 11, will I still be able to purchase Celestial items or am I going to be behind forever?

    Unless stated otherwise, three even con minions vs. a player entity is still the base metric. Perhaps three +1 minions if you have IOs, many more with set IOs and purples.

    My StJ/Fire Brute, with only SOs, breezed one of the Fire farms at +1/x4 at level 26...are SOs too powerful now? I run most missions at +1/x2. IO sets make the game too easy and make Incarnate trials just the right amount of survivable.

    To answer the OP, people are already dumping money on RMT for PvP IOs and infamy...so why the Devs would want to steer away from this (apart from publicity concerns and power concerns) not too sure.
