  1. Played the hero one...

Oh look, more of The Facts of Life, featuring Penelope Yin and Positron as Mrs. Garrett. Because clearly we haven't had enough of Penelope rammed down our throats in the Minds of Mayhem trial, the new TF and now this.

So after Penny acts like a total brat and uses the same RP-breaking device of reading other's minds without their consent, we have to help them fight...Trolls. Yes, Trolls. At level 40+ no less.

Okee dokee, won't be running these heroside, that's for sure.

Hopefully Posi and the writers get over this real fast. There are TONS of unexplored groups that could use a nice lore boost: Scrapyarders, Legacy Chain, Luddites, Outcasts, Hellions, Devouring Earth, Longbow (yes, we seem them eveywhere but how much do we know about them), Goldbrickers, etc. etc. etc.

Please, please, PLEASE take some time off after this arc and give us something fresh and not yet again the Positron and Mary Sue show, feating Penny "I'm an Invincible Psion!" Yin.

    Blech.
  2. Just ran two Magi, no pets at all. Tyrant dropped like one of Zsa Zsa Gabor's lovers after a bad date, no more than 5 minutes to defeat him.

    Please fix quickly.

Edit: Champion server, mix of level shifts.

Sure, the old missions might not have been great, but they served to introduce various enemy groups, and there were five of them. Plus, even with the running around for plaques, they weren't as padded. I HATE street hunts, and the new arcs are pretty much 90% that.
Gotta agree with Sam on this. I never run the lowbie content anymore, too much clicking through verbiage and not nearly enough caving in enemy skulls in missions.

Just intro me to villain groups and step aside please.
  4. Do want.

Water Works reserved on Infinity, Pinnacle, Virtue, Freedom and Exalted!
    GIMMEGIMMEGIMMEGIMMEGIMME!!!

  5. I have a Stone/Ice Melee on infinity, all Alphad and so on.

Let me be completely honest. This is NOT a speed-leveling build. You will finish missions...slowly. You will grind through content...at a snail's pace.

    The upside?

    ZOMG THE CONTROLS.

You have an ice patch to slow foes.
You have a hold to isolate problematic enemies.
You have a cone slow to lower your opponent's attack rates to a crawl.
You have a sleep at high levels as a panic button.

The game will become a game of "turtle".
Will your turtle win or will your opponent's? How long should a tip mission take? How about that ballgame...a few innings later you move on to the next mission.

On the plus side, your team will LOVE the feeling of near invincibility.
  6. Family on my Mind Controllers/Doms. Confusion on the bosses then watch their Singularity pets fling them to and from like so many leaves!
Hilarious stuff! Anything amusing will do, Cadavers exploding on themselves, Ruin Mages caught in their own earthquakes, Rom eating his (klaatu verada) Nicti and so on.
  7. I mostly make toons for PvP so PvE content is irrelevant outside of getting HP Accos and Incarnate boosts.

The "PvE" toons I make mostly focus on same.

Well, bombs in Underground too for timing.

    GG on making these.

Yeah this...I tried it 5-8 times, sometimes with minimum graphics and got a ton of mapserves.
Running on gaming laptop, good other laptop and even office PC which is pretty darn tootin.
  10. Yeah as I was saying via PM they had something similar on Victory and basically they did it in steps:

    1)Team formations and roles
2)Some practice matches, evaluate player skills at evading/locking/etc.
3)Work with players that need more help.
4)Assign mentors to teams. No more than one experienced support or one experienced Blaster per team.
5)Do matches, switch targets so that people don't feel "farmed" and so on.

In between that, you had all the Arena stuff people need to know: evasion routes, insp management, rooting/planting and stuff like TK and its counters (TK was limited to one per team in that league and banned in most leagues) and so on...

Out of that we got a couple people (Hemm was notable) that graduated to Freedom leagues.

We also had a SO only (we allowed KB Protect too) league that went through various levels on Champion, finally allowing IOs at level 50 but that was kinda mixed.

The key thing is you can't go full speed with new players. (Note that I was put into that situation on Test and got around to it quickly, not much choice when you're on a Team, but not sure that is possible now). But with practice you can get stuff off the ground and so on.

ALso, there's the issue that toons with no HP Accos are going to get farmed.
I don't know organized this thing all is, but anyone looking to PvP regularly should at least look at getting all the +HP accolades and their squishies to 1606 hp. No idea how Incarnaes are being used but most organized play was Alpha only, or at least no Lore pets so there aren't 16 extra targets + Ill pets and Grav pets to tab through, but again...whatever works.
  11. I don't understand why the mobs and arcs in Dark Astoria don't at least award this new XP. If they're going to make us kill a ton of pixels for this stuff, at least let us do it while waiting for trials (mobs) or during mission completion (Arcs).

Missed opportunity all over the place...

Well seeing MArty...I wouldn't be surprised to see IXNay coming out next.

"IXNay on the bridHyay people! This new tool will throttle your iXP intake if the game sees you are earning too much, too quickly. All part of our commitment to a balanced levelling experience for all." Whee...
  12. [Team] Nyctalop: Have you noticed any change to Tyrant's Regen if people hospital?
[Repeat Offenders]Reverend Irreverent: {Tinder Harmony, 50, fire/sonic}: if this rsf doesnt kick off soon ill join ya Bombur
    [Team] Miss Silltoe: definitely

    (On Freedom)

Anecdotal but it seems another group has had this issue.
Would be nice to get a veat or someone with the Temp ANalyzer to monitor his Regen when people die.

Those crazy Brits on Union got Really Hard Way using Diamagnetic, Ultimates, Longbow pets, Rebirth and a lot of focus.

I had Level Shifts on me constantly last night but sadly between going from Lights to Tyrant wasn't doing much to his HP.

    Even without IOs:

VEATs offer stacking team buffs in the leadership pools.
VEATs do not require a second "form", though to be fair you have to respec into their other forum, but it does offer status protection.
    VEATs don't do much knockback.
VEATs have a great team buff in Mind Link.

On top of all that they have debuffs (Surveillance, some - Recharge fom the Psi attacks), pets (Not as efficient as Warshade pets recharge time or stacking-wise) and a good mix of status effects and melee (as do Warshades).

I have a 50 Human/Squid PB and she is fun but she feels horribly weak and anemic compared to my Night Widow, Fortunata, Bane or Crab-Pet build.

I really wish they would give Kheldians some status protection in human form or at least let tag Null the Gull to shut off their knockback.

The story arcs are what they are. Heroside they are more indepth while villainside they are one-shot missions which is meh.

I am extremely doubtful that 24 +1s or 50s (Remember, you only need Destiny and Lore unlocked and not slotted to participate) running SOs (some red, since not everyone has fresh ones) and at base HP at 50 would succeed this trial.

Of course, that' a pretty narrow field but it sure looks like 50+3 and slotted Lore/Destiny (and IOs?) are needed, which creeps more and more away from "any pick-up group can beat this."
  16. Sci-fi pack.

Don't care about anything else until Water Blast or the Bio Armor sets hits live.
  17. Was glad to help, but for future reference at what time to people start gathering for these events? I can almost always make Thursdays and Saturdays.

    Thanks all.

    NM 8 PM Eastern, lrn2red.
  18. Just had two runs on Champion, 24 people most are +3/several IOd to gills.

Run 1: Near flawless. We had a team on lights and we finished Tyrant in no-time flat. Level shifts were spread out.

Run 2: Could not drop Tyrant to below 30%...we were a little more spread out this time but used same methods, was quite strange.

    Our strat was pretty straightforward:

    Smash Stage 1
    Smash Stage 2

Stage 3, send a league warning when the Lightning attack occurs, everyone backs off then heads back in.
Assign a Lights team to keep level shifts up.
Slot/Use Barrier Radial so you don't hit hospital.
When Tyrant is around 25-30%, summon Lore Pets and use everything you can on him.

That proved to be enough for a very fast successful run...the first time. The next time the Favor of the Well kept increasing and we could not floor Regen.

    If I would change anything:

    -Look at the Regen
-Put a text warning: "Use Quills of Jocas on Lights of the Well to weaken Tyrant!"
-Have Level Shifts apply to entire group...in both our runs only a third of us had any going.
-Add some Astral Merits somewhere, two Empyrean for that whole thing? Eehhhh...Keyes/TPN/MoM much better reward for time ratio.

Even though the hardcore mchardhats seem to like it, I suspect the general populace doesnt, there seems to be more complaints than likes in both the forums and on the chat channels.

Opening the hybrid isnt hard, its boring, not fun and tedious running the first 7 minutes over and over again.
There isn't enough time for it to be any of these things. Level 54 IDF are exploding so quickly that it's a laughing matter to just exit and re-form. Just got Hybrid unlocked and Control Partial Core Graft is mine!

There will be plenty of success in this trial...as people get used to it
I remember raging over the purple patches in Apex for crying out loud and now it's a 10-15 minute joke. Take a break from it if it's causing you grief.

Underground Trial was in the same boat as was Keyes and look at Keyes now...it's no harder than a Respec Trial or whatnot. UG is still fairly grindy but it's doable.

Give it a few weeks Shubbie and it will either be rote-run or adjusted downward in difficulty.

In that regard, it's like the blueside Midnighter arc, only you have to cure 150 Lost instead of 15.
Well you can get Midnighter access now just by doing the introduction into Night Ward. It awards from entering the Midnighter mansion there...so I am never, ever, ever doing that arc again as long as I have VIP status.

Agreed, but once people get it down it will be farmed.
DPS/Debuff is the holy duality of this game...enough +3s/Corrs/Controllers/etc. etc will do wonders. If you enter the trial with a mixed bag of +1s/any AT in zone it will likely fail.

That said, you can just farm the first part for IXP, disband, re-form and farm the first part for IXP again until everyone has Hybrid slotted. I'm expecting this to be SOP until Hybrid is well-slotted.
  23. It's not that bad.

The first part is a cakewalk of mowing through mobs.
The second part is more piling onto big hit point targets then using Quills.
It will be grindy and tedious if you run it on a 51 that has just unlocked Destiny and Lore. On a 53 with multiple T3/T4 you will roll your face across keyboard for most part.

I had a lot of crashes earlier this week and when I went to fix it basically "re-installed" and did what you have described. At the moment my patcher is at 22% of whatever stage...will report back when done.

Finished patching, no 2.5 gig patch here.
