And he did the bulk of it during the Great Monkey Shortage of commons & uncommons.

I mean I can see how it would cost you a fortune if you were all NAO NAO NAO, BUY BUY BUY, CRAFT CRAFT CRAFT, DELETE DELETE DELETE! but aside from the level 10s (which don't cost enough to care about) the only badges I lost money on were the holds.

    The Defence Myth

    Dear OP:

I know jack about math, but it's been my experience that if you find yourself arguing with UberGuy it's best to stop, take a breath and revisit the assumptions behind the point you're advancing.

I've seen way too many great products produced by vile people to buy this.

If I was thinking about working for some company or other it'd be relevant, but as a customer?
    Zero impact on my experience.

quality is irrelevant when the subject is robbing graves.

Mildly mouldy or basically skeletonized, a corpse is a corpse and the process of unearthing them for commerce is morally repellent.

  10. inherent stamina has been an absolute boon to all my lowbies, and all its done for my higher level guys is open up more build possibilities (for example, now my ar/dev has a spot to pair a PvP +3% def IO with the Steadfast he already had slotted, plus another couple of LotG +rech).
  11. hey, do any 88's have one of those PVP global defense IOs lying around?

I find myself in need of one for my ar/dev's post-inherent stamina UBER BUILD, but if I can buy one AND have the inf feed the furnace so much the better!

I'm down for whatever they go for these days, or more since it's for a good cause. =P

If you need any help, let me know.

I actually 'earned' most of this build doing nothing more than running one MA farm map a session when I had the time. It took him 20-30 minutes to cap the tickets at 1500, I rolled 'em all bronze at 35-39, deleted the junk and crafted the good stuff. I bought the sets I knew I'd need as I went along and stuck 'em in base storage. The only marketeering involved was when I found a particularly good score (cheap recipe, expensive crafted IO) I would grab 10 or 20, craft them up and sell 'em off.

It uses hover instead of combat jump. My thoughts about this is simply excluding caves mission issues. There are mobs that can run through caltrops with on effect ( ex werewolves ) which would then require me to keep back peddling. But now with hover I can disregard caltrops if needed and just hover just above the mobs head forcing them to switch to ranged attacks.
I can definitely see the benefits of hover- I hate Warwolves on anyone with a big slow. But even though I'm trying to min-max this guy at heart he's a concept character, and flight just doesn't feel right. He's got beanbag and web grenade for the occasional runner, so it's not too bad.

I'll definitely check out your build though, it's always interesting to see how other people approach things.

Choosing to be poor doesn't get you any brownie points.

If you've got enough merits lying around to blow 300 on junk without batting an eye, use 'em to buy GOOD stuff and rake in fat profits, then you won't have to wheeze and faint at the outrageous prices the next time you go IO shopping.

when I was dragging my ar/dev bodily to 50 with the intent of getting him to the ranged def soft cap I ran him through one MA farm a night- inefficient soul that he is, it took nearly 30 minutes to hit the map ticket cap.

I'd roll all bronzes 35-39, delete the obvious crap and craft the good stuff for sale.

Over the course of a couple weeks I nearly filled up one of my SG storage bins with Thunderstrikes of various flavors- I needed a couple of sets, so I just stored whichever ones I happened to get. And besides all those Thunderstrikes he made enough inf to buy everything necessary for his 'uber build' while still hovering around the inf cap.

Which is a long-winded way of saying yes, tickets are a viable way to get thunderstrikes (and make a truckload of inf besides). =P
  20. I find corrupters more enjoyable than defenders. Their buff/debuffs are 'good enough' in a team setting, they do good damage solo and there are several primary/secondary combos that you can leverage to lay serious waste to anything in your path (fire/dark, for instance).

this is a valid point- I just glanced at the mid's output and didn't notice the level restriction.

I would still bet a pile that I could kit out for much less than a million per recipe by looking at off levels and exhibiting a soupçon of patience.

blowing a lot of merits on a recipe that's one step above a junk drop is just nuts.
even if they WERE all five million, that's chump change when you consider what you CAN get with that many merits.

the closest I come to disliking one of my longtime characters is my emp/elec defender. He's one of the first characters I made and I picked elec for thematic reasons. It didn't take me long to despise it thoroughly.

Thunderous Blast is great, I like Tesla Cage, the rest of it can die in a fire.
