okay, here's a graphic example of why I like bronze rolls.
I capped the tickets on one MA map and rolled them all bronze, netting me this haul:
The specific recipes change, but this is fairly typical of my usual MA haul- a couple of REALLY good recipes (LotG, Reactive Armor, Positron) and a handful of good ones (Efficacy Adaptor, Thunderstrike) with the rest ranging from 'eh' to 'junk'. I'm lazy, so I delete everything that won't get me at least a million in profit.
If I'd rolled that load of tickets on Silver, I'd have gotten two rolls.
Would I have gotten a recipe better than that LotG?
Unlikely.
Bronze rolls deliver better odds of getting good stuff. The payoff for silver would have to VASTLY outperform bronze before it would be worth blowing 500+ tickets per roll.
/edit
this is also a demonstration of how much more efficient MA is at generating monetary rewards- it took me less than 30 minutes to net that haul on my non-optimized ar/dev blaster.
How many hours would I have to play to net that many set IO drops in the 'real' game? -
As a lover of all things Dark Astorian, I'll check it out the next time I can log some game time.

Silver is the 'mission complete' pool, right?
*checks*
Quote:So I was almost right. The table from which Silver Class Ticket Recipes are drawn, is comprised of all Pool A rare recipes and all Pool B Mission Complete. For each roll, the likelihood of receiving a Pool A rare recipe is 50% greater than that of a Pool B Mission Complete recipe.
Glancing at the list I see a lot of junk and not enough good stuff to justify the exorbitant cost in tickets.
35-39 costs 555 tickets, which would get me nearly 8 bronze rolls at that level. In my experience rolling 8 bronzes will get you at least one pretty darn good recipe.
IMHO silver rolls are just too pricey considering the more or less guaranteed payoff I get rolling bronze. -

Quote:not that long.1. How long does it (on average) take to get to level 50? Say I play a little more often than casual (i'd say 2-3 hours a day, maybe more)
patrol xp + xp smoothing = fast leveling, even if you don't try and optimize things.
Quote:2. What is there to do at 50?
Quote:3. How good is PvP?
Quote:4. Are there any servers I should avoid?
I'm on Triumph, Freedom & Virtue and enjoy them all. -
somewhere in the options is a 'disable camera shake' toggle.
poke around, you'll find it. -
Yah, bronze- IMHO they're by far the most efficient use of tickets if your goal is making inf.
-
it isn't (usually) a tactic that results in a quick sale, but impatient buyers have yet to let me down over the long haul.
I've got the screens for my next installment, just need to edit them together and post 'em.
It sprang from buying a Miracle +rech NAO only to discover I had one in base storage (kids, this is why you shouldn't work on two builds simultaneously...well, unless you're a lot more organized than I am.) -
I like 35-39, has some super valuable stuff and a comparative lack of total junk.
-
found 'em, thanks all!
everyone would probably move many, many more crafted generics if they weren't buried like that. -

Here's my rough draft, incorporating ideas from builds posted in this thread while sticking with powers I didn't want to lose (snipe) and slotting some procs I love (chance for recharge slow) and adding as much recharge as I could stuff in (and I have one leftover LotG recharge I couldn't figure out where to put..bah!)
Any suggestions, refinements or general feedback are welcome. -
forget scrimping and saving on your build, just make so much inf price is irrelevant.
Ask the Market Forum how! -
Quote:Stupid colors and font choices are internet danger signs, the forum equivalent of someone who doesn't bath, change their clothes or cut their nails. Is there a script that strips/overwrites font size/face/color formatting from posts? Preferably one that I can turn on and off easily, since guides and such often include legitimate changing of font style.
Why would you want to remove these valuable warnings? -
okay I give up- where the heck are the crafted generic IOs in this stupid thing?
I was looking to gratuitously overpay for some level 50 recharges last night but could not find them anywhere. I ended up saving myself a couple of million inf by wasting valuable gaming time buying stacks of salvage and hitting the base to make my own.
=( -
Been busy respec'ing the Goat (finally!), but will return to drop more infernal market know-how soon.
an aside, the performance gap between a good IO build and a REALLY good IO build is surprisingly huge. -
as a soloer who doesn't generally have the time to run TFs, I have to take exception here. Merits greatly reduced my access to pool C by drying up the supply available on the market.
I guess it helped people with a bad market allergy who have the time to run TFs, but that's not me. -
Quote:if by "abuse" you mean "run it more than once", I agree. And THAT's the issue, it seems. The rewards aren't "too low". They're "too low to bother abusing the TF".
I don't think that's what the devs were hoping for when they put so much effort into it, but that's what's going to happen unless they bump the rewards to match the time investment. -
Quote:when you're being sarcastic you gotta not sound like the dozens of people we get in here running that same shtick with a straight face.

Quote:Haw!Grin. I remember the very first time I tried to find the building to pay rent for the Villain SG I play in.
I finally had to ask in Broadcast, and I still had problems finding it
Then I found out that the Base Teleporter drops you off right in front of it
I finally just parked an alt there permanently- whenever the rent is due I log him in, pay it and log back out. -

Quote:Completely irrelevant.
The point is if the devs forced the random roll NOW, it WOULD be seen as a nerf.
I noted that the introduction of merits, which was a gigantic supply nerf, was greeted with hosannas and open arms by the general public, to illuminate the reality that ignorant people who don't understand their environment often hold opinions that are not true.
People who don't know a birthday present from a brain tumor can think whatever they want, it doesn't affect reality.
