Brutes/Tanks/Scrappers: Generally +2/8
MM: +1/8 (the +2s just seem to hurt way more than they should)
Blasters/Corr: +0/4 (good mix of Lts and Minions with minimal bosses)
Controllers: +2/2 (No problem locking stuff down, with epics can push +2/4)
Defender: 0/1 (I have 1 defender Emp/Rad.. -1/1 is tempting) -

Its wonky. When we ran one of these on Champion, the first match we all fought and I ended up winning.
The next set, I didn't throw a punch and still ended up in the finals despite going 0-2.
Again in the third round, winners didnt necessarily advance.
Thankfully, the winner of the final match did get the badge every time, but figuring out who advances and who doesn't is messed up.
(We were using 8 entries. Because there was no elimination to the top 8, this may be what is causing the unusual behavior.) -
1 hour to get enough villians there.
25 mins to kill monsters to spawn hami.
1:15 to actually go through the 4 rounds.
Very very smooth. No wipes.
Taunters taunted.
Spikers spiked.
Assaulters assaulted.
Hami go boom. -
So push your Shard up a bit or back a bit. Its gonna take 2 hrs in the Abyss.. so just plan accordingly

Balista's are supposed to be a pain. Like the Rikti Magus. And the Arch-Mage's from the Thorns, they represent the elite of the elite. They are many things, but un-soloable isnt one of them.
I will concede a full +3 spawn is a little heavy handed, but I dont recall getting +3 spawns from this mission. Granted I haven't done it since 4XP was put it, but still. Why not drop in a Shivan for some help? Or tap some of the other temp powers you get along the way (red side has some nice ones as well). There are many ways to cope with nasties, and you have to be ready for them. -

I did it.
I went out and ground through the last 75M to Leader. On both sides.
And thats it.
Just Power Liberator (which you cant get now) and Day Jobs (badging without playing) for my hero. At least my villian has 2 Mo's left to get (MoITF and MoBSF).

What do you do when you get brass ring? I know the new halloween badges are coming, but still... there's nothing left now.

Fair enough. I figured it wasnt new because I had seen some wonkyness before, but the old system limited you to +0 to +2. Some missions scale up (start with lower levels and ramp) so I had written it off to that. With +4 its REALLY obvious when it happens.

And thats it really. Didnt play as much as I wanted because of a death of a friend. Bleh.

Situation:
Mission leader (level 47) has a mission and is set to +4/8.
SSK (or in this case SSE from 50 to 47) joins the team.
Mission leader, while in a different zone, sets the mission.
The SK/Ex enters the mission while the leader is in a different zone.
Result:
Mission spawns as if the leader is +0/1.
Very repeatable, but the leader/mission holder must be in a different zone when the SK enters the mission.
Once the leader enters the zone, new spawns in the mission use the proper settings.
Impact:
Annoying at best. Just forces the leader to be in the same zone as the mission to use the proper settings.
Workaround:
Leader must be in same zone as mission.

Death on an obscure friday for the fail. =(
My life and my son's continue thier eeire parallel. Last night a good friend of mine and my son's Godmother passed away after a battle with breast and bone cancer. My Godmother passed away at a similar age (from Diabetes), and I know what its going to do to him when I tell him. And there isnt a darn thing I can do about it. Perhaps it will help him get a little stronger emotionally in the long run like me, but the short term isn't going to easy.
This sucks.

Midnight is on the :00 and :30 of each hour. We turned in some before 10:30 and some after 10:30pm last night. nothing. There were ghosts in Croatoa so it was "night time". So unless the game servers are way off from the atomic clocks (yeah, i have a radio signal synced clock on my desk), we were in the right time window.

Fire/Fire/Fire is a great tank combo. No you dont have to be IO'ed out, but it helps.
I run about 35% melee def with my Fire^3 tank with an 18sec recharge on Healing Flames for 954pts of heal. Hps are about 2520. I can tank AVs. Have MoSTF, and MoITF. And rarely die on mothership raids, even against multiple Magi solo.
Im not sure why the hate.
Anyways, Fire/Fire tanks can be built around solo, team, or hybrid.
The solo build uses Burn and RotP because its got a stronger offensive focus.
The team build eschews some offense for survivibility. Burn is right out because of its scatter.
The hybrid build looks more like the team build, but allocates more slots to AoEs and Resist/Def powers, and less to the single target damagers. It also requires more IOs to achieve its peak performance.
The question is, which of the 3 builds are you looking for? Once we know how you want to play your tank, we can better suggest powers and slotting.

We tried 16 times.
The odds of 16 failures in a row is .8^16 or 2.8% chance.
Its within the realm of possible.... just highly unlikely. Thats why I was asking if anyone has seen one in the last day or so. -
We redeemed 16 sets of salvage trying to spawn one and got nothing.
It was night time (the ghosts were out in Croatoa) and we got zilch.
Anyone else able to get a zombie invasion going since... like today?

Well aside from the failed Zombie spawning... (we redeemed almost a dozen and a half sets.. got nothing. Theory that its disabled right now because of the new zombie event thats going in for this year).
Handed out IOs as prizes, Numina and Miracle were the choice awards, no one took the BotZ. And 9 digits worth of tanker stimulas funds. And the afore mentioned salvage sets. And lots of levels were gained.
The Mothership raid was a huge success. While we were getting ready we had 15 tankers and 1 brute on the building. Poor brute is gonna have PvP nightmares about seeing that. Glacial Paradox got the kill on Ukon and claimed his prize.
The Miracle Lottery went fast, needing only 2 rounds with Lethal Cherry taking home the hardware.
Both TF teams that formed up (Hess and Psyche) were successful with Captain Battleship and Myrmydon getting the respective final hits in.
There were other non TF teams that went out delivering the smackdown on bad guys everywhere.
No where near the 400 for the 3year, but there was nothing but tanking goodness all night long.
Next week the TTT continues trucking across the universe... boldy going forward because we cant find reverse!

There will be some "bonus" prizes handed out tonight.
Little trinkets like Numina +Rec/+Reg IOs, maybe an extra Miracle.
I recommend tuning into TankHQ as Ill be broadcasting stuff in there for the bonus prizes.
Also, Im hoping some of the vets will take up the mantle and help lead some of the All-tanker TF teams.
