This. I would rather see a booster pack with all the current costume codes.

Hm, and then they can use similar techniques to restore Connery as James Bond.

Then CGI revive Heath Ledger for more Joker.....

    Not a pleasant trend.

Edit: hm....would a CGI de-aged Connery bring Bond fans back to the Bond movies? Perhaps a CGI de-aged Connery being CGI inserted into some of the other Bond movies and call them "Special Editions"?.....

I agree the SUN is a dubious source of data, so we'll see. However there have been commercials as shown in the youtube links in above posts where it has already been done.

Steve McQueen 2005 Mustang commercial which is also a tribute to the car chase in his movie Bullet.

A simple ad like that that also pays tribute isn't too bad, rebuilding someone for an entire movie and expecting decent acting from said construct.......uhmmm no.

  6. My 6 khelds are looking at both musculature and cardiac.
  7. My fifty 50's are all unlocking the Alpha slot and eventually they all will have the Alpha slot activated with a basic booster. However select alts will take it as far as they can.

Currently my tanks and brutes are respecing into inherent stamina, plus taking the ancillary pool that has Superior Conditioning and Physical Perfection for even more stamina and all three of those have the perf shifter proc, and they are starting their alpha with the Cardiac booster. Thus in a nutshell they are slowing becoming something akin to the Energizer bunny, keeps going...and going...and going.

Frankly I'd rather have a person like Lucas with the backing of his industry-leading talent and technology spearheading this so that the quality of it can be as good as possible. If it's going to happen it might as well be really well done. *shrugs*
Indeed. I'm on the fence about the morality of CGI reviving the dead. From a CGI novelty standpoint I'm curious as to how well it work.

Of course I remember catching a glimpse once of the Virtual Ed Sullivan show.....oy.

If Lucas can make this work and then decides to spice up the saber fight in Ep 4 then he could make a CGI Alec Guiness as Obi Wan.

Still this is the man that helped create THX, Pixar, ILM and others. Say what you want about his directing and writing skills, or lack of same, but the man does try to push technology to the next level and likes to show it off.

Gotta agree about the lack of originality these days. As for an Abbot an Costello reboot.....such a project is like the Stooge movie....it shouldn't be done.

Vol. 1 contains the first 3 years of their work.
Yes, the DVD's have been nice, some of the colorized episodes look pretty good too.

What would be great is if they can dig through the film vaults and locate and restore any and all footage they find of the Stooge's bloopers. Think of it! How funny would be to watch them try to perform a skit and make a slip up of some and kind and every one starts laughing on the set?

One legend is that skit with Curly and the clam chowder and every time he drank from that bottle he and his stool would spin in a circle. Supposedly they had to do dozens of retakes because everyone on the set was cracking up with laughter at the hilarity of the skit and Curly couldn't keep a straight face and was busting a gut laughing.

How about the skit when Moe had those electric shock pads tossed into the back of his pants by Curly and then Curly in advertently turns on the power? Moe starts dancing around and was looking like the Russian dance and Curly starts clapping his hands and dancing along with Moe. (Episode was Gem of a Jam). Imagine the retakes that one had because I know if I was on the set I'd be busting a gut laughing so hard.

Any Stooge blooper footage they can recover should be awesome to see. Not counting on the set injuries of course as some of their stunts were reported to backfire. That western skit when they improvised that bazooka and all the black powder blew back into Moe's face, supposedly Moe had to be zipped to the hospital as he was choking rather badly. Then later in that skit when they try that weapon again, a spring pops out of the back and hits Moe instead of black powder again.

Agreed. Also the Ted Healy part was kind of glossed over. Yes they started with Healy, it was Moe and Shemp then Larry was hired. Then they left Healy and Shemp quit and Curly came aboard, then they briefly reunited with Healy for a bit before quitting him for good and then going to Columbia. Curly's distaste for Healy that he showed in the last scene with Healy in that biopic didn't make sense since they didn't show that they tried working with Ted again.

Having seen some of their early works with Healy, I can that yes they were funny, but the Stooges were wise to leave him. In all the skits with Healy, he always felt to me like a boat anchor dragging the Stooges down.

As to this new Stooge movie, it's been "in the works" for years, and as a Stooge fan I would prefer to stay buried. I always laugh at the Stooge shorts, and I love the ones where they lampoon the Nazi's or are beating up on the Nazi's, but would a movie where they may encounter modern day terrorists and deal with said terrorists as only the Stooges can be accepted?

Also, finding someone that can impersonate one Stooge isn't too hard. It's getting three that can work well together and sync up the way the originals did that is the hard part.

No, the Stooge movie should not happen.

I'm reminded of HBO's "The Sopranos". The actress that played Tony's mother died between seasons, and they did a "scene" with Tony talking to her in the next season. They used old footage of the mother from previous seasons and cut back and forth from that to new footage of Tony, to make it look they were having a conversation. It was poorly done, choppy at best, and should have never been included IMHO. I fear that any attempt to do this with any Joker footage would produce similar results.
Reminds me of how they finished Game of Death after Bruce Lee's untimely "accidental death" using a stunt double and cutting the footage back and forth and so on. Luckily the combat scenes and much of the movie had already been finished before Bruce perished, but still it was glaringly obvious and not well done.

Also with the Crow the movie was 99% finished when Brandon met his accident and some changes were made, such as the scene with him appearing in the apartment to comfort the girl and we only see him from behind or in shadow thus concealing the fact that it was a stunt double for the late Brandon. That was fine.

To incorporate unused Joker footage into the movie would seem pointless unless the Joker somehow unleashed the new villain on Gotham and even then we could get by without footage of the Joker.

Also, remember Ed Wood's idea of using unused footage of Bela Lugosi for Plan 9 from Outer Space? I think we all know how well that worked out

Just save all unused footage of Heath as the Joker for a DVD extra and leave it at that.

True. Still until there is a definite profit to be shown for exploring space, I don't see governments or businesses accelerating our space tech development. Sad too since the main profit would be the continuation of the human race by colonizing other planets.

A season 1 episode of Babylon 5 said it best that one day our sun will be gone and it will take Earth and every human living and that ever lived or will live unless we go to the stars.

Warp drive is only the first part. We'd also need:

    1. navigational deflector dish to sweep space debris out of the ship's path, otherwise a collision at warp speed....well......force = mass times acceleration.... (ref. ST: Motion Picture, when they were in the wormhole with that inbound meteor, glad they blew it up in time. )

    2. some serious radiation shielding for the entire ship and constant monitoring of the shielding and structural integrity in general.

    3. can said ship land on planets and launch again under its own power? If not, will it have shuttlecraft or automated probes to launch as I seriously doubt we'd have a transporter

    4. what about weapons? Space may be the final frontier, but I doubt every alien race we'd find would welcome us with open arms.....or whatever passes for arms.

    5. Communication back to Earth or starbase or whatever.

and who knows what else I'm not thinking of at the moment.

    Long ways to go

Yes but Kirk and Spock wounded the Horta and McCoy had to use a silcon based mix they use for emergency shelters as a bandage for it since the Horta was rock/silcon based life.

All I remember from the Tholians was that we saw them on the viewscreen when they communicated with the Enterprise while Kirk was fading in and out of our dimension and the crew was slowly going cookoo crazy due to that region of space. Maybe the Tholians were indeed crystalline/silcon based, but the Horta definitely was. Also there was the rock creature on that planet in the episode when they came across Abe Lincoln in space......(just exactly WHAT was the writer on when they thought of THAT?....please share cause it must have been some good stuff)

As I recall the Tholians were energy beings or least that's all we saw of them on the viewscreen when they communicated with the Enterprise. However you may be thinking of the Horta that could tunnel through rock with the same ease that we move through air and lays silcon nodules that are actually eggs.

As previously stated the builds are blueprint/guidelines to be modified per the player's own personal preferences which of course includes power choice and IO set choice.

As to not publishing it as a guide, I'll keep my own counsel on what gets included in any future guides I decide to upload and it is up to the players to decide what they will spend for their toons and what they will spend it on.
  22. Remove XP? No.

Reduce XP by 50% and enable badge credit for damage taken, heals, inf gained, and defeating foes? Maybe.

Waiting years after the fact is a bit anticlimactic to say the least.
I agree it does feel like adding them for the sake of adding them, including boosting the hazard zones to 8 badges. So ok, now all non PVP zones have 8 explore badges.....I guess at this point they could say that archaeological teams have unearthed new plaques.....but I hope not. The new map badges are for us that "gotta get em all" plus 5 merits. Now if they added a base TP beacon to the set I'd scratch my head and wonder "does my base need a TP to the sewer system?"

New defeat badges: eh not too big a deal. I like the "points" system for the praetorian defeat badges and hope it migrates to all defeat badges someday instead of things like 200 bosses only for gangbuster badge or 333 cage consortium or 500 skulls for one badge and 100 bosses for the other.

New Accomp badges: ok new TF = new badges. That is also understandable. Same with new achievement badges.

Adding any other badge types besides Accomplishment, Achievement, Defeat and Holiday/Event badges would be overkill at this point.

From what I hear so far the X-mas event only has the login badge for the year as a new badge. That is good. Now if we can get enough candy canes to craft missing game anniversary badges that would be even better.
