One downside to option 1 is the temptation to change history but not being able to as it may result in a change that is worse then what you remember history to be and also that such a change may effect your existence if not erase you as the timeline alters. Example: let's say I'm a citizen of Germany in 2010 and I choose choice #1. So I go all the way back and then live through events watching as they unfold and then I start getting to the point in time where a certain future dictator by the name of Adolph would be born.
Do I prevent his birth, thus hopefully sparing millions of lives? But what if someone worse takes his place? (not to mention that Joe Stalin's existence must be considered as well). Or, let's say my actions prevent WW2 from happening at all but the life I had by the year 2010 was affected by the events of WW2 and now WW2 doesn't happen......did I just negate myself from existing, thus never being around to be given this offer by the entity and thus never being able to negate WW2 in the first place? Paradox.
Regardless, if I chose the first choice I'd have to force myself to remain an observer and not take actions to change things up to the point where I was sent back. So if I was sent back on say Jan 1, 2010 once I relive through history, once the date changes to Jan 2, 2010 THEN I can take actions that I hope would better humanity thanks to all the knowledge I would have accumulated by that point. -
Quote:Call me crazy but I enjoyed most of Robocop 2 and 3. Yes they had flaws but were still fun.It was a great little movie with a lot of "before they were stars" power behind it. The sequels weren't as bad as the Robocop sequels.
Still, Frank Miller did get a bit carried away with #2 and then he was toned down too much for 3.
Though Robocop 3 at least gave Robocop some nice accessories.
Robocop Prime Directives: a nice mini series that started good but half way through part 3 I could feel the shark prepping for the jump and in part 4 boy did it jump...... -

Quote:The sad thing is that I don't see a Blu Ray of Darkman happening any time soon, unless I missed a memo.Own it and watch it from time to time. Although if I'm in the mood for badass Neeson fix I generally pop in Taken, especially since that's on BluRay and Darkman's on DVD.
Now if they decide to make all 3 Blu Ray and sell them as a trilogy pack.....hmm -
Note to self: dig up my T2 DVD and put it in to watch on my 55" LCD.......
Still I have to admit that the T-1000 still does indeed look cool, and that was rather cutting edge FX at the time as I recall. Look at what all that FX tech would lead to for future movies and TV shows...... -
Quote:A fun movie then and now. Also minor trivia note: Rami wanted to make the Shadow but the rights were a bit tough to obtain, hence Darkman. So yeah I was looking through old movies; and well who remembers this gem? Yeah back when we walked to school ...up hill ....barefooted ...in a blizzard! This is pre dark knight; pre watchmen; pre sin city... We had someone who who everyone but no one; who was everywhere but no where! We had our Darkman!

If you never saw this movie; check it out.
I saw Darkman 2:Return of Durant and I can see why it was straight to video but still fun. I have not seen Darkman 3 and not sure I want to. -
Here's an idea: now that I and many others have respec'd our alts and cleaned up and rebuilt our power trays........would it be at all possible to tune up the respec system so that temp powers do NOT go back into the trays first? It would be more efficient I would think if the primary and secondary powers returned to the trays first. It would make reorganization a bit more efficient.

Quote:Well before the recent patches I respec'd most of my Khelds into the new Fitness. Today I went to the last one to respec it as time constraints kept me from doing so and when I looked at it's build prior to respec, I had a Whiskey Tango Foxtrot occurrence.......Did you select fitness while you were leveling up through the respec?
It works for the three of us, at least, and I know I've talked to others in game with inherent fitness working in forms. I'm just trying to find out what you may have done differently to get different results.
It had Fitness previous to ish 19 and before the first patches after ish 19 hit. The patch from Thursday somehow switched it from Fitness to Inherent Fitness....... also lost the perf shifter proc that was in its stamina due to this. Bug report filed as I want that proc back. -
Quote:Watched TRON on my new 55" LCD TV with upconversion player and 5.1 sound and loved it. Went and saw TRON Legacy in the theatre and loved it. An excellent sequel. Now to reinstall TRON 2.0 into my PC....Was pretty hyped about this movie from being a big fan of the original. Probably one of the few times i'll ever REALLY look forward to seeing something in the theaters. So, i actually sucked it up and laid out what was essentially double the normal ticket price to go and see this in IMAX and 3D. i figured why not? i never bother otherwise, so if im going to continue to despise the wave of 3-D, may as well pay for it at least once...
saw it and was not disappointed. was actually pretty jazzed coming out of the movie. there were more than a few moments that were a bit on the meh and eyeroll side of things. but they did well enough with everything else that you bump through the various potholes in the movie without getting jarred by it. the soundtrack was awesome, and while i wish they'd gone a bit further with some elements of the story, especially once they hit the Grid, it was a solid story. nothing too out there and handled pretty well. but then, despite how cool the original Tron was, it's story was also pretty basic. just dressed up all nice and pretty.
i definitely recommend seeing the movie. mebbe not seeing it in imax or 3D, unless you REALLY want to. i did, and to be honest if you're going to make people wait almost 30 years for a sequel, this is how it should go. unlike some other franchises i could think of. -
Quote:Hm, hope they aren't rushing a movie due to recent court rulings in the trademark/copyright case.Well i guess if you have any ideas then you should make them known to Nolan pretty soonish, because the Nolan/Goyer screenplay, directed by Snyder (and supervised by Nolan) starts production next summer 2011 (possibly in Vancouver) and Warner Bros is aiming for a December 2012 release-date.

BSG started falling apart in Season 3, that show should have ended sooner. Now all these prequels they are doing should be called: Battlestar Galactica: beating the dead horse.

Quote:As would I, but since Hollywood seems to like recycling ideas and that those were good stories, they could be adapted to the big screen.Would rather see a more original idea (relative to comic book movies, anyway).
Also fans get a live action Batman/Superman team up. -
Convert the Batman/Superman story World's Finest to live action. Joker gets some Kryptonite and comes to Metropolis to have Luthor pay him to kill Superman. Batman arrives on the scene to lend a hand.
We get a nice Superman/Batman team up, an excellent usage of the Joker, and Luthor in a movie where he isn't conspiring on some grand real estate scheme.
Then for the sequel: Batman/Superman: PUBLIC ENEMIES. Might have to remove some of the super heroes and villains that appeared in the comic/anime movie due to budget and time constraints but again an excellent usage of Luthor as the villain as the two heroes race to save Earth, clear their names and stop Luthor. -

SyFy lost me with the name change. Their lineup even before that was already showing signs of deteriorating.
But putting on wrestling? ugh. They should enter the vault and dig up reruns of shows they've run in the past like Forever Knight or Highlander or Star Trek or even Lost in Space to fill the timeslots needed. -
Quote:Not the first time a cast and crew wasn't notified in a better manner, sadly it won't be the last.
By the way, Syfy's professionalism shows as apparently they didn't tell the cast or crew about the cancellation. They all had to find out via twitter with everyone else.
Edit: At least some of the crew was notified via email shortly before the announcement on twitter. -
I believe the new mission is offered from Father Time in the Chalet and he will offer a choice to L20+ characters of the BNY mish or the new mish. Given that Father Time is in the neutral zone that is Pocket D, alignment should not be a factor.

Quote:Hm, I just read that wiki entry. To me it sounds like the "Psychic Blindspot" is more the equivalent of pouring white out into any lingering continuity glitches due to this whole mess created by Joe Q's insisting that Peter can't be married.I'm not arguing that it's not dumb (because it is), but I'm pretty sure that part of what all they did went beyond just removing it from the public knowledge and went so far as if people started to try to guess who Spidey was they'd always come to the wrong conclusion, unless he specifically told them. I need to find the source...
Edit - Yeah, the "Psychic Blindspot". -
Quote:The whole mind wipe thing was ill contrived and poorly planned and the rules of how it works aren't clearly defined. Strange, Stark and Richards erased all records both public and private, yes. They also wiped the world's memory of the unmasking, but I don't recall either them or Mephisto stating that it was setup where no one could guess his ID.My (very skimpy) haul:
Spider-man is continuing on fairly strong. I really like his ability to create new stuff and showcase his scientific mind. However, I don't like one of the throw-away lines voicing his concern his new boss is piecing together his identity as Spider-Man. I thought with the whole stuff Doc Strange, Tony Stark, and Reed Richards did prevents anyone from discovering his identity unless he specifically tells them and/or sees him unmask. It's a non-concern and makes me worried that Dan Slott doesn't really know what he's doing. I know that's dumb but still...
The thing that keeps people from guessing his ID is the same comic book absurdity that keeps most people from figuring out that Clark Kent is Superman, or Bruce Wayne is Batman, or Hal is GL, etc.
IMO, the better way to have undone the unmasking would have been to use a spell to communicate with Peter in the past before the unmasking to warn him what would happen and to have him instead disguise himself under the mask and give a fake name when he revealed himself.
Example: he could have told Stark "Look, I'll give you your public unmasking, but in case this whole thing collapses I still want my identity to be a secret. So you setup fake records to show that a man named "Ben Reilley" exists, and I'll dye my hair blonde and wear colored contacts to alter my eye color, and maybe add a fake scar on part of my face to show some form of battle injury from long ago. You get your unmasking and public support swells for the legislation, and my ID stays secret in case it all collapses and is overturned." -

It's said that Robert Downey's contract gives him approval over who the director will be, so if true then he might be able to arrange things to get Favreau back once more details about Avengers and IM 3 are worked out.

Looking forward to it, and hopefully the return of free server transfers for the duration of the event.
