I supposed that could be considered armor wars, but then again that wasn't Stark Tech run amok it was the inferior hammer tech plus War Machine. Also I like how War Machine's armor control was usurped for awhile, just like when Hammer first appeared in Iron Man comics with a way to override control of the armor and frame Tony for murder.

Still though, the fact is that in IM2 Hammer got his hands on some Iron Man tech. Surely he has all the specs and diagrams on file.

    Yup. You guessed it.

THE AVENGERS dominating the box office.

    Link.
Slight fix for you. If the new GI JOE movie comes out now, it will be smashed to pieces by the Avengers and not pull in as much as they are hoping.
  3. Loki wanted to raze the Earth and rule what was left, yes. This would sadden Odin but also hurt THOR since THOR has a fondness for Earth now. He also wants to prove that he is superior to THOR and ODIN, and I can't help but think that while we didn't see any signs of a backup plan on Loki's part in Avengers that the great schemer of Asgard is not as defeated as he looked, despite Hulk turning him into a ragdoll.

Loki revives from that pasting the Hulk gave him, he's wounded and still stunned and can't focus his magics so he decides some discretion is in order and lets himself be bound and gagged and taken back to Asgard.

The Chitauri made it clear there was no place he could hide if he failed, and knowing THANOS and his history of brilliance and cosmic powers he can breach the dimensions and invade Asgard. The tesseract is now there and we saw the Infinity Gauntlet in Asgard's weapons vault. If Thanos gets his hands on either or both then the universe is in dire peril.

Can the Asgardians face Thanos and the Chitauri? Well if Thanos personally gets involved then only two Asgardians can face him in terms of power: ODIN and THOR. Also if the Destroyer can be reactivated then that could be a weapon against THANOS and the Chitauri. Loki likely thinks he is safe from THANOS in Asgard and I suspect that THOR 2 will prove him wrong and will be the lead in to Avengers 2. Captain America 2 will mainly be about Cap fitting in and learning of his friends fates as well as facing whatever menace is thrown at him, rumors were of MODOK but who knows.

Iron Man 3 is supposed to be based on Extremis so that means there is a chance that movie Tony may take a dose of Extremis and upgrade himself instead of just his armor. Possible Thanos tie ins with the energy of the arc reactor and how it was based on tesseract research. Also if movie Tony takes Extremis then he could heal his injured heart and purge the shrapnel from him, though he may still need the arc reactor in his chest. I'd also expect Iron Man 3 to tap into a loose end from IM2, namely that Hammer got his hands on the mark 2 armor and weaponized it into War Machine, that would mean that Hammer studied it, made diagrams and blueprints of its design and also studied the software that helps run the armor.......ARMOR WARS anyone? Hammer could have sold that tech to anyone and thus now many can outfit themselves with stolen Stark-tech.
  4. It is a wise move to wait until the Avengers is done.....but that will likely be a long wait. Between Avengers, Dark KNight and Spidey, GI JOE wouldn't stand a chance.
  5. How about the time Rowdy Roddy Piper appeared in an episode of Robocop the Series as Commander Cash, and the episode of Highlander as Anthony Galen?

Also the John Carpenter movie THEY LIVE

Seriously DC, your animated stuff is great, but if those chins get any bigger you're going to have to start widening the doors in Gotham/Metropolis.

Semi-kidding aside, I do look forward to this.
The art in those DVD shots is pretty darn close to the Dark Knight Returns comics, including Batman's chin.

Think Mark Hamill will come back yet one more time as the Joker? Also here's hoping they do the Batman vs Superman fight justice.

  8. Adrian Paul, best known as Duncan Macleod was also in

    1. an episode of Beauty and the Beast
    2. War of the Worlds TV series
    3. Jeremiah Collins in the 1991 Dark Shadows series
    4. a 1991 tv movie "The Owl"

Sadly this sounds far better then what we got as the 5th movie.

IMDB shows him listed as The Mandarin. Hm, perhaps his Zhang Tong incarnation from the 2nd Dave and Bob run on Iron Man? He was a businessman and corporate counterpart to Tony.
  12. Latest word is that it is apparently going to be a male character and this character has NOT yet appeared in the New 52

In this day and age it most certainly would be a freaking reboot. If done right, they can be a good thing, but that is far and few between. Highlander, however, could really use one. With, I dunno, maybe coherent writing and good direction.

But it's Duncan forever for me.
I have seen all the movies, Highlander 5 was worse then 2 and both are classified under W.W.N.S.O.T (WE WILL NOT SPEAK OF THIS!!), I have the entire series on DVD and frankly with the multiple timelines the Highlander universe has currently had, it would be best to reboot the franchise. Lambert is too old to return as Connor also I don't think he's aged as well in terms of his appearance and if my memory is correct he is also blind as a mole without glasses, hence why the sword fight with him and Slan in the pilot episode of the series seemed a bit....off.

Adrian Paul still looks like he could pass himself off as a man that became immortal in his mid to late twenties, but last I heard he wanted off the show after 6 seasons to pursue other things, and also the pain of some of the stunts and sword fights was starting to catch up a bit. Then came Highlander 4: Endgame and its three versions: Theatrical, cable, and DVD all of which show that sloppy editing hurts a movie badly. Endgame didn't turn out as well as was hoped and I don't think he was interested in doing HL5 for awhile as initial advertisements for it mentioned 4 new immortals seeking the origins of the immortals and there was no mention for sometime about Duncan being in it. Then we suddenly hear that Duncan, Joe Dawson and Methos will be in it after all........and what a trainwreck that movie was. It was supposed to be the start of a trilogy and I think it is safe to say that plan is aborted.

So, time has passed for Lambert and Paul. One of them could return and the other is too old now.

    Timelines for Highlander:

    1. First movie and nothing else. Connor got the prize, the end.
    2. First and second movie: this time line is aborted.
    3. First movie and third movie, ignoring 2nd movie which was negated from continuity by third movie: this timeline is also aborted.
    4. First movie, retconned so that yes Connor kills Kurgan but it wasn't the final gathering. Instead, Kurgan's Quickening was a Dark Quickening and Connor had trouble assimilating the power of Kurgan at first. Then comes the series with Duncan and the novels, then the horrible spin-off The Raven, and then HL 4:Endgame which was sadly followed by HL5. This is the current timeline/continuity of Highlander.

So multiple timelines, a bad cartoon series (W.W.N.S.O.T.!!!!!!), 3 bad sequels (2,3 and 5) a mediocre sequel (Endgame) and a TV series......

    .....REBOOT!

Instant fail if this happens. But I suppose we can look on the bright side that Tom Cruise has yet to be mentioned as a Highlander candidate.

Also so glad that Tom Cruise didn't land the part of Tony Stark........
  15. Avengers sinks Battleship with ease, ( about as easy as swatting a fly) and is now the #4 movie of all time and well on its way to surpassing the others.

Although, really, the Clu in Legacy is Clu 1.0 for the new operating system, yeah?

I'll pull it up and watch the scenes again and report back. Later.
Well in TRON, Flynn was trying to use his old Level 7 access codes to break into the system to get the data he needed to fry Dillinger and get him sent to jail. CLU was caught and derezzed by the MCP who somehow sensed Flynn was behind CLU (must've been the facial resemblance....) MCP and Dillinger decide to suspend all Level 7 access codes until Flynn is stopped for good. This affected Alan Bradley's work since he was Level 7 and TRON had been locked up in the MCP dungeons.

Flynn tells them that if he can get into the company building he can use his abilities to forge a Level 6 access so that Alan can contact TRON and give him what he needs to shut down the MCP.

As to CLU in Legacy, I think he was referred to in the scripts and by the cast as CLU2.

It is ironic that Flynn's creation would run amok and go out of control much like Dillinger lost control of the MCP. Only difference here is that CLU is more mobile then the MCP and since he was created by Flynn basically copying himself while on the grid, that makes CLU 2 a program/user hybrid which would explain why he was able to outfight TRON, and even defeat Flynn

    Thank you for the time...
Jackie Chan was in Cannonball Run 1 and 2 actually. Yes, Captain Sheridan was indeed TRON, in fact in some episodes after Sheridan took over I'd swear that some of the background control consoles occasionally had a "tron" look to them. Also there was an episode where at the end either Franklin or Garibaldi said to him that the important thing was that they made it and Sheridan said "so far". Nice TRONism there.

As to Bill Mumy seeing him escape any typecasting from Lost in Space is a good thing given what a camp fest it devolved into as of Season 2.

Huh? 7 prior Clu programs? Clu 1 was in TRON and was derezzed by the MCP, Legacy was CLU2.

Yeah when I first heard the zombie sing in Bender's Big Score I thought he sounded familiar then the tie fighter clinched it for me.

As to Patrick Stewart, I believe he was Gurney Halleck in the 80's Dune movie.

It looks like some of our earlier speculations about events will need a slight revision as they have revealed that the show takes place after the purge of the ISO Algorithms. So that event has already happened and now CLU is on the march to take control of the rest of the grid.
  22. Jimmie "J.J." Walker from Good Times playing a rapping Zoanoid in the first live action Guyver movie.

Also Mark Hamill was in that movie.
  23. Alyssa Milano in Ahnold's action movie: COMMANDO

Shannen Doherty was in an early episode of AIRWOLF

Bill Mumy: was in an episode of the live action FLASH tv series, he was also in the 1990 Captain America movie (the movie is best filed under W.W.N.S.O.T.), and I did a double take and had to recheck the credits of the episode when he first appeared in Babylon 5. He did quite well as Lennier, too bad in the episode that June Lockhart guest-starred in that they didn't have a scene of them walking down the corridor and do a double take when they saw each other and each think that the other looked familiar somehow.

I guess long ago my brain froze in the idea of Mark Hamill "being" Luke Skywalker and it will just not ever accept him as anything so completely different as the Joker.
Yeah, when I watched the first ever Batman TAS episode that had Joker in it, I did a major double take when I saw the credits and had to rewind it to see that was indeed Mark Hamill.
Also there is a tale floating around that he is coming back yet again to do Joker voice for a project.
