  1. I intend to skip aim, the snipe, the t1 blast and possibly Piercing Ray from Beam. From Time I'll be skipping the ST hold, and depending on how high I can get my defense I may drop Time's Juncture.
  2. I'll second Granite's suggestion of WM/Shield. SMASH tastic,

Also try WM/Fire. I would love to see a crit Shatter boosted by Build Up and Fiery Embrace.
  3. Are you missing keys on your keyboard?!?

    New This Week?

  5. I disagree with the notion that /Time is underpowered for MMs. Yeah your henchmen don't get the benefit of +rech from the pets, but you get tons of debuffing and crowd control. And of course your teammates do get that nice big recharge buff. Plus like everyone else has said, the amount of +def you can get with /time is ridiculous. With just a power boosted Farsight and Time's Juncture you're effectively sitting at around 30% defense as long as the enemies aren't resisting your to-hit debuff.

Yes I know I'm late to this party. Just now figured out how to log in to the stupid forums.
  6. Patched. Can't log in but I see they never updated the log-in screen background picture to support widescreen monitors.
  7. Think I'll start with a Fire/Dark Blaster, then possibly a bots/time MM. Maybe Demons/Time.
  8. Thanks for the replies. I think I'm gonna roll one up and see how it goes.

I've re-adjusted my build to take out power boost for web envelope and move around some slots.

  9. Has anyone played with this combo? Don't see a lot of talk about it around here. It seems like a really good combo, and also synergistic considering the melee nature of the Demons. Stacked def+res and status protection seems like a really potent combo.

Edit: If I use Power Boost before using FFG, will the FFG have a boosted defense value?

If so, this build I threw together has stupid amounts of defense.

Edit: New build, Power Boost won't work the way I want.

  10. 02 boost is available at level 2. Assuming you took the first summon at level 1, other than a personal attack, there is nothing you can select other than 02 boost. Or to put it another way, you can have 02 boost the second you leave the tutorial. I really don't think moving it to T1 would make any difference whatsoever.
  11. Procs made a huge difference in Mercs. I went from being completely incapable of solo'ing Mynx and Ms. Liberty to being able to actually beat them on my Mercs/Dark just by adding in as many damage procs as I could find.
  12. Thanks Grim. I added those to the original post.
  13. I'd roll this combo on a Scrapper also. DM/SD scrappers do more damage and survivability isn't an issue so why not?

Unless you really want the Brute versions of the Patron Pools, which is a good reason.
  14. I don't have anything salient to add to this discussion (I should preface every post with that line, but anyway)...

I thought of a power gimmick that we don't currently see in CoH. We have PBAoE powers that teleport us into the mobs to deal damage such as Shield Charge and Lightning Rod. We don't have any powers that deal their effects then TP us out of danger. Imagine a PBAoE attack such as a nuke that drains all endurance but then TPs us to a targeted location far away and out of danger.

You jump in and click the power giving you a targeting reticule, you select an area and click. BOOM! You explode, then instantly TP out of dodge. Or the power works like a double TP. You TP into the spawn, blow up, then TP back to your starting location automatically.

    Just a random thought.
  15. You still get the extra XP. Or at least... I think you should.
  16. I don't know what kind of new stuff the devs are working on, but as far as existing content is concerned the MM AT probably tops the list as far as something that needs serious dev attention.
  17. Energy/ doesn't have very good AoE and the big ST attacks take years to activate. On a team you'll find yourself corpse-blasting left and right. It does comparable and sometimes worse ST dps than other sets that also have vastly superior AoE and/or mitigation. You'll learn to hate it when you activate energy transfer and some Claws dude runs up and lays out 3 attacks in the time it takes you to use 1, kills your target and runs away, and you still take the penalty damage.
  18. Until i21 comes out I also suggest you satiate your desires with a BS/FA.

He's still rolling in influence from back in the day.
Here's something that has changed that may not have anything to do with your character, but in the game as a whole. The markets have completely changed the economy and what people consider a lot of influence. "Rolling in influence" nowadays would probably mean you have >2 billion influence across your account.
  20. I paired up Psi/Time on test and it played well at 50.
  21. I would have gone the other way.

Thugs/Therm can get a lot of extra defense from IOs and Leadership. 10% from the IOs, then another 5% from your Maneuvers + the stacked Leadership defense from the T2s. That's fairly close to the soft-cap.

Then you stack resistance shields and the resistance IOs. 20% from IOs, ~22% from your shields + the decent damage resistance the thugs already have.

What you get is high resistance, high defense, heals, buffs and debuffs.

With FF all you have is more defense. Not that that's a bad thing, but FF doesn't really bring a lot to the table outside of high defense.
  22. Most Mercs problems are already on the list but thanks for the input! Mercs are so monumentally bad that fixing them would almost be as involved as making an entirely new powerset.

So sad and true. Am I the only one concerned that they are actually hiding MMs behind a pay wall as if they are some kind of special elite AT that you need to pay to have? How excited are people going to be after they part with their hard-earned cash and roll up an AT that well... look at post #2 in this thread.
  23. Status protection in most forms is one of the few things we can't get from IOs... and that saddens me. Especially red side when I'm playing a Corr or a Dom and every other mish is against LB and every group contains a beanbag launching Nullifier.
  24. I actually like those levels because I can finally get some breathing room on slots.
  25. I think an Ice/Emp troller would fit the bill.

You're not really hurting your foes. You're making them slip and fall, slowing them down, occasionally freezing them in a block of ice, which yes does some damage, but nothing serious. Just leave out Jack Frost. You wouldn't solo worth a damn but you'd be great on a team.

Then you have the /Emp side of the coin which works wonderfully for buffing and healing.
