Curiously I took Ice/Energy for concept reasons.

I guess they mean the I7 bandwagon jumpers...No one in I4 picked ice tanks if they were going for anything 'uber'.

well im one of the only few illusion bubblers out there.. and I can say, no way in hell is PFF enough. Hami got silly high accuracy (near auto-hit) and will cut right through PFF. Plus you wont get 8 ill/FF trollers to drop PA in PFF
[/ QUOTE ]
Hamidon damage is untyped. No defence powers that I know of have defence against untyped. Yes his accuracy is good, but thats not the reason for him hitting you. hes just cheating!
H4X!

well yeah and that, but I was tired when posting -

then again... this debate couldve been circumvented by allowing signups here in the first place
or just do what has been done with hami raid, 3vP etc: 1 thread to post the precise rules and where discussion/questions is/are possible (after all, its a community event) and 1 limited to signups. -
the repel factor always been easy to avoid by decent PvPers.. the strong point of hurricane is the acc debuff

I mentioned the 1 AT just to make an example of another comunity that organized public events, not saying they're better or else, because without me they're nothing...
I wasn't meant to be inflammatory in any way, sorry if it sounded so but I was just voicing my and maybe other's concern about the thing and pointing out how other that made similar thing handled that...
Also Pryo's post is a clear aggresion against English, leave the slaughter of your language to us outside of the UK

Maybe an advice to all of you who dont like to give their email adresses away, by signin up to a forum or emailing someone, to use a dodgeit account?
Sure, most boards got a "hide email" option, but most of times admins are still able to see those adresses. I understand viewpoints of people not willing to sign up to another SGs forum, whether it is because of giving their email or not. What I dont understand, is the amount of insults and sarcy comments how these concerns are replied upon. It seems that not willing to sign up to the MoX forums is contemplated upon as a personal attack to the SG.
I doubt everyone that posted their concerns here got the viewpoint that MoX is out to steal email adresses from persons. Its just that people voice why some people may be reluctant from joinin this event. Replying to this that it is an attack from the 1AT community is just a really, REALLY stupid thing to do as you are calling out another community for no apparant reason.
Personally, I think if you replied to the threads in a decent fashion it wouldnt have escalated like this. However most replies I seen got a "holier than thou" attitude, and call out people. Aint really the best PR action around is it? And as mentioned before, when organizing events for a whole community, its better to have 1 main spokesperson, sure others can add some stuff as well, but it shouldnt be 5 or 6 people repeating the same stuff over and over again. The reasons behind this are simple. First of all, people got 1 person to adress all their questions to, which will also make it easier for you guys on the organizing part. Second of all, which also struck me on this topic, is that with a whole group of people trying to 'clarify' stuff on this board, you as non-organizer can get a bit intimidated. Its a bit like "we outnumber you, SO we are right in every way!".
Right, im rantin a bit now.. I wont be showin up, not for reasons mentioned in this topic, but because I dont have free slots on union. Would like to wish everybody that is partakin in this event good luck and a fun time. This post is in no way meant to slack the event, but just a few lil pointers for if you (or anyone else) organize something for the global community again.
P.S. no I aint part of the 1AT community, the thought alone, brrr -
aye, bring an 8man team to monkey island north of PI and you have that badge in no time at all
-
not really, the kin/rad cell SHOULD hold firm (at least it did last raid without use of shivan/amy). Also more pets (which just blindly spam powers and got no lagfree costumes) increases the lag which we dont really want.
Which reminds me, to add to the orginal post bout tactics and all:
Do not, I repeat, do NOT (thats NOT, in capitals, y'hear? NOT) use any pets other than singularities and if called for dark servants. The other pets only increase the lag and offer no real help whatsoever. If you DO use one of the other pets, expect alot of people hurling abuse at you. So please, do NOT use other pets than singularities at first and if the leaders call for it, dark servants as well. -
might work seeing its only bout being in range, you dont have to actually give em commands like with the henchies of a MM. Already had a lil discussion with babel about this and I will test some ideas next week (too busy schedule this week). However I'm not sure if everybody in the PA team can still get that temp powers as iirc its limited to 3x
-
I know def builds your fury, otherwise I prolly wouldnt have picked stone (i aint one of those perma-GA builds.. kinda kills the brute aspect imo).
I brought it up because of this sentence:
[ QUOTE ]
but then again he can't hit you to build up fury
[/ QUOTE ]
which I interpreted as "you arent getting hit, thus you cant build up fury"
Anyway, I agree that each has its own playstyle, but once you start recommending "dont pick fault/mudpots/taunt", the other side of the coin has to be showed as well -

well the link is ok u can see a post there what say's sign up for gumball race

it aint, you arent a member of that forum though are you? if thats the case, you prolly are auto-logged in and wont see the error message. To those of us not having an account we get:

Cryo Freeze Ray is the crey pistol right? which isnt a hold but an immob, hence useless. However we also need damage to actually kill it so everybody is welcome
Bout regen scrappers, they were used to tank hami before, not sure if theyre still as good for the job as before. Reckon someone with tankteam experience can elaborate on that.
And doubs, bout gravity team... what use will that be? Whether the gravs are solo, in holding team, attackin team, kin team, rad team, whatever.. they still have to use their pets. And you can target through them regardless of the team. -
what i figured bout the post is that he needs a 50 on union to donate inf..

BU = Build Up (power of a brute, he temp does more damage and has some acc as well)
[/ QUOTE ]
it aint just restricted to brutes, PBs, blasters, stalkers, scrappers and tanks get it as well (in some way or nother)
-
what bout swift/sprint (and quickness if youre /SR) + hurdle/CJ as travel? wellslotted it aint too slow
-
interesting, doesnt all this discussing of "stalker does this to empath" "empath does this to stalker" "stalker reacts to empath with this" etc kinda proves the point that PvP aint as linear as your previous example stated?
Oh and I dont think you should fear the immob from spines, its rather that nasty -fly(which i think breakfree doesnt solve, but could be wrong)
-
got a stone/stone brute myself, and the comments I made were actually based on experience of teamin with a fire/kin corrupter all the time.
Taunt and mudpots ARE handy on a brute, yet it has a slightly different function than taunt on a tank. Whereas a tank taunts mobs to keep the rest of team safe a brute can taunt so the mobs attack him and build up fury. Also I find the remark "with fault they cant hit you so you dont build fury" rather amusing. Mainly cause stone pre-granite is mainly a +def set, which means they hit you less.. so according to your logic, dont take any stone armors except granite otherwise you might not get hit enough!
The old "getting enough aggro anyway" in a team argument.. well, ever teamed with a few MMs? they scatter the aggro spread over their henchmen and a brute can have a hard time gettin hit for fury if he doesnt taunt em to attack him.
Other players can deal with the mezzing you say, sure thats true. However, how often did you see another player lock down an enemy YOU want him to lock down? Thats the prob of relying on others to mez in the thick of a fight, often you want specific enemies out of the way for a bit and FAST. Thats what I use fault for, extra breathing room, bout the same you use tremor for. If I start to get low on hp/end for instance, I just use fault around me to stun some enemies, once they get rid of the stun, follow it up with tremor to knock em down again. Rinse and repeat till you're ready to fight again.
Oh and mudpots deals some decent damage once you got fury runnin if you fight big spawns -

Actually, Dark Miasma's heal - Twilight's Grasp - has the same regen-decreasing effect as Lingering Radiation, and has the extra bonus that since TG's recharge is fast you can keep it on them continually... just thought i'd mention it
According to the Prima strategy guide, the regen debuff from LR lasts 30s after applying it, and it's on a 90s cooldown, while TG is 20s and on an 8s cooldown - i tried it out against Sea Witch yesterday and it seemed to work fine.
[/ QUOTE ]
well if you go that way, nuttin beats a bots/dark, nin/dark or bots/poison for debuffing regen(at lvl 38 they got 5, 4 and 3 -regen powers respectively)
but like others said, take both EF and LR, theyre the cornerstones of the whole rad set -
ill check if trollers do containment when not held same time as I do PA testing
-
bout PAdrop, I'll see if I can do some testing one of these days and if I cant find a way to make em work I'll see if I can find an alternative aggro way

Contrary to what others say, Stone Melee is very good in my estimation, just ignore fault and hurl boulder and of course taunt, as smashin into the enemies ranks works for that part, and you've got a real devastating attack chain by lvl 4, slow recharge, but most foes can't stomach your damage output for long. It's great for PvE, can't say much on PvP though.
[/ QUOTE ]
actually, I'd take fault and taunt, especially if you want to team alot. You are too slow to rely solely on mudpots for taunting and fault is a great extra surviving tool.
