Quote:i have finished playing the above arc, and overall i would have to rate it 4 stars, the story and texts were well written, but the mishs felt sort of lacklusterArc ID: 347029
Arc Title: Breaking The Barrier (And Putting It Back Together)
Factions:Soldiers of Rularuu, Arachnos, Nagans
Morality: Heroic
Length: 5 Missions
Level Range: 40-54
Description: A group of aliens may have bit off more than they can chew when an experiment with stolen portal technology threatens the stability of the Universe itself, allowing the soldiers of Rularuu free access to our dimension. (Follows arc #3326, "The Portal Bandits")
mish 1: this mish was alright except the iron samurai guy i felt was a little too powerful for that mish, as running on a x1 diff he was kill stealing all over the place, i think he would be better as a lieutenant rank, otherwise this mish was very interesting with the use of rularuu
mish 2: no real complaints about this mish, was fairly solid and the allies didnt detract too much from the experience
mish 3: only real complaint that i felt it had too many allies, even though they were minion class, on a x1 diff setting if you had more than 2 of them they starting kill stealing too much
mish 4: no real complaints about this one, i thought it was hilarious though with the barrel text (i LOL at dihydrogen monoxide)
mish 5: this mish was fairly straightforward as well, but i felt it had too many allies, and was kind of meh for a final mish, i really love that map though, but the amount of allies kind of detracted from the experience too much (especially the mm ally which the pets just kept getting in the way)
additional thoughts: i felt the arc was quite easy for the most part, even aeon at the end was very easy due to the amount or strength of allies, which at times they did get in the way and steal rewards, but overall the story was solid and the mishs were interesting -
hmm, i like your suggestion for making the custom automatons appear in the 2nd mish. i would have to slightly tweak the story for it, but i could try to work it
the reason i used midnighter instead of vanguard was because vanguard pretty much does everything with rikti, only through the vanguard contact arcs is it revealed that nemesis was the cause (actually it isnt even revealed until dark watchers arc)
the midnighters on the other hand are magic and could have forseen that nemesis was trying to do something and they are there to try to save the world type of thing
thx for the feedback, ill take a look at a few of the mishs in the arc a little later tonight -
Quote:i use CIT for kind of offline character management since CIT displays how far a toon is through lvling (for non 50s), and it displays how much inf each toon hasI've been back and forth over whether to PM you with this or ask you in this thread. My question deals more with the Info Tracker system as a whole than with just the Sentinel, but the two are so closely tied together it seems appropriate to ask here.
Ok. I am on City Info Tracker and have Titan Sentinel updating my characters for me. Now what?
That sounds silly to ask. But really, what can I do with this? What do people normally do with this site? What utility do these tools provide?
Please understand I'm not trying to belittle what you've accomplished. I understand enough programming to know what a feat Titan Sentinel is. Basically I just want you to "sell" it to me. Right now I only see CIT as a way to show off my badges, but I get the feeling there's much more to it than that.
Again, I know how much work had to go into this. What I see is phenomenal, but I know that there's more utility to it that I must be missing.
like if i needed money on a specific toon and i dont know how much my other toons have on them at the time, i can just log the CIT and it would show what my other tooons have inf wise so i can swap right to them instead of taking the 1-2 min it requires to change toons and slowly check toons 1 by 1
thats just an example of how i use it, but to each their own, im sure there are other ways that people use it as well -
im just glad im not leading the MoBSF lol, one time was plenty enough lol, i dont mind helping out though cause i usually dont have any preference on what im doing since im having those pre-issue lullz and cause the only badges my main can get atm are MoSTF and day jobs (and i dont see MoSTF happening anytime soon lol)
-
i could possibly help out with my stone brute again, however i may or may not be available depending on when my class that night lets out
-
upon use of this program i have officially just uninstalled glycerine completely, and will be using this to upload badges to CIT (i still use herostats for other purposes and to upload to badgehunter lol)
this is just seriously epic
especially the export to mids, because i have several lvl 50 toons in which i was in process of slotting or slotted before i used mids and i didnt want to go through all the hassle to move them into mids, but this just makes it all so much better -
i very rarely buy purps, usually im just running a lot of lvl 50 toons/content and about 50% or more of the purps ive gotten are from drops, most of the ones ive bought are cheaper ones (less than 200 mil)
i dont bother with PVP ios for 2 reasons, the first being i basically never pvp, and as mentioned in the previous posts, the pvp IOs arent any more effective than most of the non PVP ios except for the purps whcih are all "superior" rating enhances, most of the set bonuses for pvp IOs arent all that special either
as of now i have 1 toon which is completely IOd and i dont think i spent more than maybe 2 bil on his build and he has 15 purps slotted, im currently working on like 4 other toons right now, one is missing only like 3-5 purps and the others are missing up to about 20 purps, while it is a lot and more annoying now with the inflated purp prices, its still possible to wait for them on drops especially if you run a lot of lvl 50 content -
in the last mish i did create a custom group mixing it with some of the default automatons, i prolly should explain them a bit better in the dialogues
i had considered using the HVAS, however the few problems i have with it is that it is an EB which could significantly increase the difficulty in a few areas namely the 3rd mish, and 2, i dont remember if i have done any testing with it to make sure it actually gave xp
i think i figured that the mish with recluse was a bit too easy because i had 2 allies to help, however i was tinkering in AE last night and i figured that an option to slightly increase the difficulty of the mish was to remove the 2nd ally which i felt actually make the story fit a little better
(if anyone didnt guess that mm ally is based on my main toon, has same powersets and costume lol) -
i would like to thank everyone again on all the feedback, i have done my best to go through and clean up the text and a few of the mishs
when i go through and do reviews for the next arc that bubba posts, ill do my best to try to spot any errors, but im not good at the writing stuff, but i will have a lot to say about the mishs -
Quote:i dont know how well i did it, but i was trying to imply that they were exact replicas (and the only changes that nemesis made were to the internal workings)You might have two options here. The first is to state that they are exact replicas for varying purposes since Nemesis is able to make accurate robotic doubles of people. The second is to create customs. While you lack some of the things that make Mek Men and Titans unique (thin torso and massive size respectively), the new Clockwork parts, Cyborg pack, and even some of the old school parts could work. Wish I could be of more help but my account isn't current right now.
I feel doubly bad since you helped me with testing some of my stuff. Still, glad to see you're getting the feedback. -
thx much for the feedback, as for the recluse mish, the options i have without messing with the story would be
- change recluse to be a forced AV, but he could potentially spawn at lvl 54 too (this option is something i would really like to avoid)
- remove the 2nd ally and just keep the mastermind ally, it would make the fight a bit tougher without requiring that you take other poeple with you
- i could make both allies EBs only so they could not spawn higher than EB while recluse could still spawn as an AV
i think for now i will go with option 2 and see how things go, and if it still feels too easy, ill force the mm to be an EB and no higher, so recluse as an AV will be a much tougher fight
in the original implementation of the arc, i was originally not going to have ANY help at all in there, but that was coming off as too hard, which is why i have added allies, i added the 2nd ally as a request because it was still getting negative feedback on difficulty, but as times have changed so have the poeple so ill just remove one of the allies -
i might be able to be there, depending if i have schoolwork to do, only toons i can bring are my stone brute (preferred) or my archery/cold corr as all my toons are villains except for them which are rogues lol
-
the "faulty clone" in that mish is basically a doppelganger with the randompowers setting
so the powers it has can be random (some of the oddest combos ive seen are a peacebringer/martial arts clone lol) -
this has been such a huge help, most of your suggestions sounded a little better than what i had, so ive made changes based on what you have provided so far
-
much appreciated, ill go through it later today and do some more text cleaning lol
-
out of curiosity i logged on my sonic/rad corr and tested out lingering radiation on several different enemy groups, it did not seem to be applying a -spd debuff but just outright lowering the max run speed
the base run speed is around 14 mph, with lingering radiation applied to a lvl 25 mob from lvl 50 toon, it was dropping run speed max to 1.4 mph -
thx for the continued feedback, im doing my best to go through and try to weed out as much errors as i can
ive corrected the uses of "Nemesis", ive tweaked a few of the mishs and tried to solidify the story a bit more
i suck bad at grammar stuff, so ill prolly need more help on that, ive read through all the texts dozens of times, but as mentioned im terrible at grammar and it all looked right to me
Dalghryn- i really like your suggestion to recolor the robots, i honestly never thought of doing that before because when i created the arc it was before we could recolor dev made NPCs
and to others, as mentioned in the thread i apologize if the arc was a little bit...messy with a few things, but i havent hardly gotten any feedback till now, and i greatly appreciate all the feedback
edit: i tried to make changes to edit the robot colors and such to make it "fit" a little better, but i cannot recolor the robots (heck the only thing i can recolor is statesman lol), so this change wont be able to happen unless they change it in the future
edit2: also if anyone would be so kind as to help me iron out the story (grammer/spelling wise, ect) it would be much appreciated -
this game has just interested me more because of the mechanics (ive been here for 51 months)
i dislike other games because after a certain point its just grind grind grind, and i can only grind so much, i need content too (example of a game which failed in this aspect is asda story, lvl cap is like 85, content basically ends at 40, after that its raids and grinding, example of grind is i saw a screenshot of someone who was at lvl 59 and 1.5 mil xp was only like .02% of the amount needed to get to 60)
i like this game because it doesnt require the gear system like other games do, its a LOT more free in terms of how you slot the toon
i also like this game for the variability in builds, this game gives you tons of options and it doesnt take forever in a day to lvl -
much appreciated on the feedback, i think i know how the mish 5 map might be bugged
there is one spawn spot in which i think nemesis can spawn inside a rock, and there may have been some bugs with the objective chaining so i was trying to cut down on that
i can change the purple text on the dialogue, as i just wanted it to stand out and make sure that poeple were aware that there was a dangerous enemy there
edit: i think the grandville beach map has been a little buggy for awhile now, but thats the only map that will fit the purpose i was going for, and it doesnt bug all the time either, very randomly
edit2: for all who dont know, the map in the 3rd mish is from the last mish of the hess tf, and to answer tubbius question about the 2nd ally in the recluse mish, hes an ss/wp brute (hes supposed to be helping to hold aggro from recluse if your a squishy but that doesnt always work as intended so hes more of an extra dmg dealer) -
VEATs done have any specific enemy which is designed to kill them like void/quantums are for kheldians
the only thing VEATs need to be careful of is defense debuffs because even though they have a lot of defense, they have little to no resistance to the defense debuffs meaning their defenses could get slashed in a matter of a few attacks -
Quote:im good with all feedback, as i mentioned earlier in the thread, i have basically gotten 0 feedback up until now, so im sure there are parts which still need some workJust played the arc this afternoon. I'm reserving this space for more detailed feedback, but I'll post a quick summary for now.
The good: I don't think there's any problem with the basic idea for the story. In that respect the arc's got a good start; there just needs to be more development. Also, it's obvious that thought and time have gone into this.
The bad: The arc feels like an 'outline' rather than the finished product. I really felt like I was playing something that was in the very early stages of design, and needed a full fledged rough draft, followed by several revisions. I'm talking lots of proofreading, and some major revision of the clues. In my opinion, what this arc needs is DETAIL and polish.
Score: 2.67 (I'm using the exact same scoring system as I do for the Pro Payne thread. Makes it look like I'm being all objective. I'm not. It's totally subjective. So take it with a small NaCl boulder.) I didn't give the arc an in-game rating (it needs to break the 3.0 barrier so that I can at least give it 4 stars in game).
All of this is pretty vague, and not likely helpful to the author yet. I've got more notes (and more specific) - just not time to post them yet. Perhaps tomorrow. More likely Friday.
on another note, it might be a little ambiguous at parts because i know i suck at story telling, english has always been my most disliked subject in school, so story telling isnt my strong point, just coming up with the idea is what im good at
now that i have been getting some more contructive feedback i have been trying to tweak the arc a bit more to try to make it a little more solid
if anyone has comments/suggestions on how i could possibly improve the arc, please feel free to leave notes in my feedback thread here -
this kind of sucks, but i do have to agree that lately they have been playing COPS way too much, and i hate that show lol
because of the overabundance of cops, i havent hardly watched G4 in the last 3 months, im really gonna miss this channel for E3 coverage and all that though -
thx for the feedback on it, i know its not perfect but thats partly due to me having the arc up for almost 6 months now and getting little to no feeback on it
i will be tweaking the arc as needed to try to clean up spelling/grammatical errors and ill be trying to tweak the last mish so its not as tough as it is (this is the mish ive wanted most of my feedback on but as i mentioned ive basically has 0 feedback on it since i redid this arc about 6-8 months ago)
edit: if you wish to leave more detailed feedback, i have a feedback thread here -
i would prolly slot it with an achilles heel proc, and then some other dmg procs (LG neg dmg proc, posi blast proc, ect)
-
the answer to the question is that it is impossible to perma
you would need well over the rech cap to be able to perma it
