  1. I personally spend all of my tickets on salvage and then throw it all up on the market for a throwaway price, thereby making a ton of money. If a few more people do this, prices will drop a lot.

As for farms, I think they're harmless and will actually stick around and be just fine as long as they have something to give them artistic value. Seriously, it's not that hard to make them amusing, or funny, or even just to add a challenge to them. Throw a time limit on a sea of bosses and I think it leads to great fun and a ton of tickets and xp.
  2. I remember powerleveling my invincible burn tank by herding rikti monkies and DE swarms in Crey's Folly.

I remember when combat jumping made flight awesome.

I remember when there were no limits on the amount of damage resistance you could have. It was kinda silly having a tanker that was completely immune to most damage.

I remember the joy I felt when I could finally pick which zone I wanted to go to when riding the train instead of progressing one zone at a time.

I remember starting the Numina TF for the first time, enjoying the story, and then having to quit it after 3 hours of playing because I was only level 35 and I couldn't get into Eden to get to the next mission.

Come to think of it, I remember more than a few occasions where I couldn't complete missions that I had taken because I wasn't a high enough level to get into the hazard zone it was sending me to. I was stuck street sweeping for several levels because I had 3 missions that I couldn't complete. There was none of this newfangled "mission dropping" thing that's all the rage amongst the kids nowadays, either.

I remember telling everyone not to rely on smoke grenade so much, because it was obviously bugged. None of them believed me and once it was fixed I never saw those blasters again.

I remember when there was no spam.

I remember when the Freedom server was called "Prime."

I remember being excited when they added the Justice server, and then never getting to play on it until beta was over because it was constantly broken.

I remember everything else that has been mentioned in this thread.

I don't guess you can bind the costumechange emotes, I've tried dozens of combos, none of them worked..

    [/ QUOTE ]

    You can.

BAB is working on a post. Stay tuned.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Hope you guys are enjoying the costume change emotes that are part of the Magic booster pack. There have been questions here on the forums about using these outside of the costume selection screen, and the answer is "Yes. There is a console command for activating these."

The command is /cc_e or /cc_emote ('costume change emote')

    The full syntax is:
    /cc_e [costumeSlotSlot#] [emoteName]

There are a couple of important notes. One, the costume slot numbers start with 0. So your first costume slot is 0, your 2nd is 1, 3rd is 2, etc. Two, you need to use the actual emote name, not the display name that you see in the costume select screen's rollout. For the magic pack, these are:
    <ul type="square">[*]CCPrestoChango - “Presto Chango”[*]CCLightning - “Lightning”[*]CCSpin - “Spin”[*]CCCast - “Cast”[/list]Example:
    /cc_e 1 cclightning
Will switch you to your 2nd costume slot, using the "Lightning" costume change emote.

As part of a macro or bind:
    /local ABRACADABRA!$$cc_e 1 ccPrestoChango

Other than that, the normal rules for costume changes apply. You can only switch costumes once every 30 seconds. If you try to use a costume change emote sooner or try to switch to the costume slot you're already in, it won't work. You'll look foolish, and everyone will laugh at you.

    Cheers!

[/ QUOTE ]It seems like 15 seconds between transformations I gave it a try again before the 30 seconds and it didnt have to count to zero. Might want to check this.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I can confirm this, once the count gets to 15 I can change again.
  4. Looking at it from Villain perspective: There are a lot more things I have the option of buying, and everything costs a lot more.

Looking at it from Hero perspective: There's a little bit more stuff for me to buy, costs have gone down slightly (though almost too slight to notice) and someone's finally buying all those pet IO recipes.

As a primarily villainous player, I'd be willing to pay blueside prices if I have the entire blueside menu to choose from. For heroes there is no drawback, and for villains the benefits far outweigh the drawbacks.
  5. It looks great. Very well done. Nothing else needs be said about it.

    guess I'll be the one....

Looking at Dungeon Runner's page it looks like a thousand other forums I have seen, usually free to the public.

One of the things I liked about UBB is that they looked different than the standard model that I have seen everywhere. Unless you have a fantastic template to change the style, I say meh!

    MEH! I say!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Precisely my feelings on the matter. Meh, indeed!
  7. March 30, 2004.

I took a break for 7 or 8 months around the time of I4, but I always knew I'd come back, and I probably always will. It's my greatest gaming love, and although my affections may stray from time to time, I'll always bring my passion back home to Paragon.

There's nothing like a fling with some hot brainless bimbo like WoW to make a guy realize just how lucky he is to have CoH.

Lots of love! Rewards for the faithful!

Devs, I'm here for the duration.

    [/ QUOTE ]

ya know, if I13 is as great as 11 was and 12 looks like, the devs may very well come to own my soul. Or at least one of the ones I've stolen.

Every AT gains at least 1 powerset -- Masterminds only get a Secondary, no new Primary. Brutes get 2 new Primaries, and 1 secondary. Everyone else gets 1 Primary and 1 Secondary.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Wait... blasters too? Blaster support sets, like mastermind primaries, are unique. You'd have to build an entirely new set.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Energy Melee is kind of an exception to that. Maybe Blasters'll get a port from a Dom secondary?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Energy Melee is NOT a blaster secondary. You're thinking of Energy Manipulation, which is a completely different animal. This leads me to believe that yes, there is a completely new set for blasters.*

This leads to the question: just how much money did you guys make from the wedding pack?

edit: *even if it's just a collection of similarly themed powers that already exist.
  10. I hate the Hollows with a passion. It was easily the worst zone in the game, even before Faultline got a makeover. I have done whatever I could to avoid setting foot in that gods-forsaken place since it has existed. Seems that may change now.

2 issues of pure awesome in a row.

That said, I have no problem doing this if you guys don't. Just let me know what missions you want on Ouroboros and I will do my best to get them there.

Safeguards and Mayhem missions please kind sir.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Yes, please.

As for the xp smoothing, I think this is really gonna help me keep interest in some of my less solo-friendly characters, such as my defenders and corruptors, and anything that helps me keep interest is a good thing in my book.

Yeah I missed the 'in real time', I think ym briain is addled today.

Sorry the win goes on. Did you not get the memo that suckage is no longer part of CoX ?

MoG continuing to suck is the only thing that grounds me in reality.

Is it actually going to make sense now?

If it does then the last thing I've been asking for since beta has been granted.

    I love you guys.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I have come to accept the fact that MoG will always suck and burn will never again be useful for tankers. Every game needs its flaws, otherwise we'd all die from sleep deprivation.

Then again, I had also believed that they'd never give us real numbers and that weapon customization would be a dream forever out of reach. This announcement of real numbers in real time has pushed everything I had always known out the window. In this new world with hard numbers in CoX anything seems possible. Hell, there's even something vaguely resembling an end game beginning to develop. A new age dawns, indeed.

BTW Ex, your next mission is sneak into the offices of War Witch and Ghost Widow

I'm pretty sure the GW cosplayer WAS a dude.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well that just makes Castle having an autographed picture of "him" all the more creepier

And why on earth would a guy dress up as Ghost Widow?! That's just...not right.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Why not?

Yeah, I don't care if it was a dude, he was hot.
  20. [ QUOTE ]

Interestingly, while researching this problem, I discovered that Gauntlet from pool powers like Boxing or Air Superiority have, apparently, never worked. That'll be fixed as well.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ya know, that explains a lot.
  21. I have one problem, and one problem only with MoG:

THE CROWNING POWER OF THE REGENERATION SET COMPLETELY STOPS REGENERATION!!!

This makes it the dumbest power in the game. I don't care how useful it is, or how cool the animation looks, it's completely moronic. I have no idea how it ever made it into the game with such a ridiculous concept breaking flaw.

This is why it should be changed.
  22. I wasn't thinking I was gonna play Tabula Rasa, but with my favorite redname moving there, I'm all over it. You will be missed here, but I'll see you there.

Actually this whole discussion came up in beta long ago. Generally aside from a few purists, people said that things like aliens were Natural origin since from their planet they are nothing special. I beleive even a dev posted in that thread agreeing with it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    QFT

Also, Batman is borderline Technology origin. Could go either way with him.

edit: Sorry, forgot to mention that other than the misconception of what "natural" origin is, this is a very good guide for playing a natural human.
  24. yes, must have big red ball, and I have to say I hate the suggestions saying to make it into a temp power that you get. Just have it lying around. Don't even explain it anywhere, or even tell people about it. Just put it in and have it be a specific zone (preferably one with lots of open unused space) and it's always there. If it were only around randomly, how could you organize gigantic soccer games?

    Serious fun.
