A question to the folks who've played it: are there any "skippable" powers in the set? Most melee sets you can bank on one of the powers being the sort of thing that you can drop from your power choices and not feel like you're missing anything. But in Mids I wasn't seeing anything obvious in that role. Is there anything?

Every power is worth it. The more combo points you can build quickly the better.

My usual chain on my Stalker: Assassin's Strike > Shin Breaker > Crushing Uppercut > Initial Strike > Heavy Blow > Shin Breaker > Spinning Strike > Spring Attack.

Demolishes the big-bads and turns the lower ranks into mush.
  2. There's something in his arc I noticed that I wanted to ask about, but I didn't want to spoil anything.

But it doesn't. If I were to run a +0/x0 mission on my Street Justice Stalker I'd get about a bar and a half from killing every enemy in the mission and about 1/3 a bar from completion.

Maybe what you said holds true at lower levels, but that 'trickling XP' from killing enemies is nothing to ignore.

  5. I hate Stalkers. I hate them so much. They smell.

My level 30 Street Justice/Energy Aura Stalker is THE MOST fun I've ever had with a Stalker ever. I don't feel like a Stalker, I feel like a really quiet Scrapper that gets very noisy when he shows up to fight.

Spinning Strike, knocked you down, SHIN BREAKER TO THE GROOOOIIIIIINNNN.

So it's that's the big difference between this service industry and the many other service industries. We can't just haul our toons to some one else's place of business and carry on.

The relationship between MMOs and their customers would be a lot different and more pleasant for the customers if we could just pack up our toons and take them to another company's business.
    Gone to the Americans.

I remember running Hardcase's arc with my buddy Kyber; my main, Nalrok, is a giant demon. We picked the arc since Hardcase dealt with demons.

I specifically remember his line of dialogue: "No one deserves their souls ripped away by demons. No one." And then something about how demons are scum.

Kyber and I played out a scene out-of-game where Hardcase said this to Nalrok, and Nalrok picked him up by the shoulders and tore him in half like a sheet of paper.

The hair on the helmets seem to have an orange shader; I had the secondary color of the helmet blue for contrast, so it made purple. Gets kinda funky when you start playing with some of the other colors.
  9. Wow. Be sure to click those jerk players, hit 'Add Note' and one-star them for future avoidance. Sorry to hear about that, man D:
  10. I've been pretty quiet about this since I know you guys are working hard on getting us fantastic content, but...

Come on, Paragon. You need to use Spell Check. From the new Rulu Shin information:

Those who have shown great physical prowress in the Rulu-Shin are sent the front lines in the battle for Rularuu's power. They are called the Might of Rularuu, for they enforce Rularuu's might where he cannot - for now.
    PROWRESS? Really?

    "Th-that's right Matrix, you did!"

  12. Is AWESOME!

I don't even know when I'll use it but it's pretty wicked!

    EDIT: Screens!

This is a concept build. My character spends almost all of her time in melee, and her damage is NOT on par with a scrapper. She will be susceptible to status attacks until I get Incarnated out. This character is currently only level 33, but is an absolute *joy* to play. If you have ever wanted to play a pistol scrapper, I humbly offer this build as a jumping off point for your imagination.
Emphasis mine, and the OP's. I play my Pistol/Time Corr like a scrapper too.

And I could say that I have an Earth Control Brute; of course I don't, but my Earth/Earth Dominator hits like a Brute and feels like one when I play. I could also say I have a Fire/Regen Stalker because I put Invisibility on my Scrapper, but those don't exist and I'm just using it as a reference to how fun it feels to play those characters.

The same thing goes for terms like Blapper, Tanktroller, Scranker, Contranker, and Scraptroller. Of course those AT's don't exist, but they feel like they exist when you play them.

    Now stop being a tightwad.
  15. I recently re-rolled my Pistol/Kin to a Pistol/Time; he's the head of a bounty hunter/mercenary organization called The Lucky Shot (also a VG). They're essentially a refuge and hangout for the less-than-reputable types and guns for hire. He does what he's paid for and in general loves shooting, alcohol and bad jokes.

    Think he'd fit in?

Oh, he's also not human and tends to just show up places. He also has a tendency to Vash it up-- that is, he'll walk into a firefight like it's no big deal, not take one bullet and will put down about eight people as if he were just running a routine.
  16. Few questions.

Do you have a theme? How are your characters linked? What kind of people/characters are you looking for? Is there any sort of synergy between your origins?

    I'd like more details.

  18. I want to hear ribs cracking when I use Rib Cracker, I want to hear the celery-wrapped-in-a-towel-and-broken 'k-k-krack' when I use Shin Breaker, and I sure as hell want to hear the sharp snap of enamel as my foe's teeth smash together when I use Crushing Uppercut.

(Also, would it be too much to ask to add a few tooth-shaped particles to the landing FX on Crushing Uppercut?)

  20. The only time a character copyright doesn't cause in-game issues is when the player holds said copyright.

The #1 example is Jim Butcher, who plays Harry Dresden (a Grav/FF 'Troller) on Virtue. Otherwise, don't do it. Marvel will get it's panties in a bunch.

Yes they are. Before, your $15 got you access to the game and all it's goodies. These were added on as a bonus to your subscription. They are free. Now, considering that 400 points is $5, and a server transfer is $10, you're essentially getting back the $15 you paid, whether you're going to use the points/transfers or not.

Trying to equate the two is rather absurd.

That's exactly what they were, in the grand scale of the game. The only thing that's changed about those packs is where you buy them.
  24. So... it's been confirmed the problem will resolve and will likely never happen again now that billing cycles and point cycles will regulate, and it's been confirmed that you'll get your points.

Aaaaaand you post about how that's a bad thing?

What the hell man? Did you just need to complain or something?
