  1. Well that'd do it. Man, I searched for about an hour and got diddly; it'd be nice if the reward description actually had that listed as a reward. Right now it just says 'Belly Shirts' in-game. :/
  2. I couldn't find the old 'missing costume piece' thread, so I'm going to chuck this here and hope someone can redirect me.

Fiancée decided to make a character on my account out of boredom. She liked the costume so much she saved it and ported it to her machine so she could make a character out of it later.

Now, when she went in to load the costume, she got an error. She'd used the Hacker top (Tops with Skin) on my account and it's not available on hers. She's VIP, like me, so I decided to log in to her account from my machine just to check to make sure it wasn't a one-time problem.

Nope. Sure enough, I have Hacker and she doesn't. We're both full VIP. What's with that?

You mess with the bull, you get the horns. Or in our case, you mess with the superpowered community, you get two thousand megatons of raw power to the face.

I hate to fan the flames here, but the proof's in your posts whether you say it is or not.

One tell is fine. If you say no, any request after that is pretty intrusive. It's a lot like telling a child they can't have a toy and receiving the "WHY NOOOOOOOOOT" response.
  7. I'd love to see a set category for attacks like Parry/Divine Avalanche/Defensive Sweep, as well as Energy Drain/Energy Absorption.

    Set Category: Defensive Maneuvers

    Sets:

    Grym's Deflection
    --Acc/Dam
    --Acc/Def
    --Dam/Rech
    --Dam/End
    --Dam/End/Rech
    --Def/Rech/End

    Valkyrie's Feint
    --Acc/Dam/Def
    --Dam/Rech
    --Acc/Rech
    --Def/End
    --Acc/Dam/End/Def
    --Chance for Knockdown

    Set Category: Accurate Defense Buffs

    Dillo's Hardiness
    --Acc/Def
    --Acc/Rech
    --Def/Rech
    --Def/End
    --Rech/End
    --Acc/Def/Rech

    Citadel's Forcefield
    --Acc/Def
    --Def/Rech
    --Acc/Def/Rech
    --Def/End
    --Acc/End
    --Chance for Self Heal
  8. Some of my characters need it, some don't.

-My Dark/Dark/Soul Brute doesn't need it; he has Dark Obliteration, Soul Drain, a damage aura, Dark Consumption, and Darkest Night.
-My Shield/Axe Tanker has it; it helps grab stragglers who somehow didn't feel like paying attention after getting hit with Shield Charge and Whirling Axe and Against All Odds.
-My Fire/Fire Brute doesn't need it because Fire and AoE and Burn.
-My Elec/Invul Brute doesn't need it; Invincibility, Lightning Rod and Spring Attack.
-My Titan/Willpower Brute will be getting it at 47/49 because Willpower is a little weak in the taunt aura and the TW Taunt animation is AWESOME.
-My SS/Elec Brute doesn't need it; Foot Stomp, Power Sink, and Lightning Field do the job.
-My Dark/Kin Tanker doesn't have it; Burst, Death Shroud, Dark Regen, Oppressive Gloom and Darkest Night do the job.

Taunt is subjective per player/AT/Powerset. Both sides of the argument are fail. Some players can manage aggro without Taunt better than players who have it, and that's to their credit. Other players have Taunt for it's purpose and that's to their credit. You can't denounce either one.

This game is about options and what works best for you as a player. Neither side has any place in saying what's best for an AT.
  9. So what, did you get so upset over how poorly your tanker inherent thread went you had to bash something on the other side of the tank spectrum?

Take this with a grain of salt: It helps if you think about what you're going to post/say before you post/say it. It also helps to not meet every disagreement with an insult or a snarky inference.

I'll give you that, but there's also a difference between saying "I understand your position, but disagree" and saying "your brain might not work properly because I disagree with you". Learning that difference would benefit you.

I already did. Besides, that remark was quoted at least three times, and he can't edit it out of those.

That's why I left Big Blizzard Fantasy MMO. It became more of a homework assignment than a game.

Yes. Yes you did. If you're going to say you never said things, please be sure there's no proof you said it.

That reminds me of those ancient threads about how to encourage people to team up more, before they changed experience scaling on teams. Maybe it needs to be further subsidized somehow. Team with a new player, get a sliding experience bonus, the more and newer players the better.
So you automatically think that because a person says "sometimes I like to solo and that's how it is" that they NEVER team? I team a lot. I really do. I form stuff in Virtue LFG Beta, I hit up Roleplayers LFT, I invite people to run newspapers with me, I join WST runs regularly.

But guess what, doc? I also like to solo. We all do. Sometimes we like to run the game at our own pace, on our own terms, with no need to explain to other people why we're doing what we're doing.

Evidenced by every post you've made in this thread, this is obviously a problem to you. You've gone so far as to make incorrect, rude assumptions about everyone who tells you you're wrong, even questioning their mental stability.

This isn't our problem with teaming, it's your problem with us soloing. Take it elsewhere, kid. You're just embarrassing yourself.

Bosstone, unfortunately for a new VIP today the search function essentially is "the world" as far as CoH is concerned. Most of us are probably members of a dozen or two global channels, the newbie is not. She may not even know the global chat system exists, or have ever visited the official forum. Most people in this thread were not advocating opting out of the most basic in-game tool for just that kind of player to have any access to teams at all, but a few were.
    Man, are you rude.

And there you go putting words in everyone else's mouth again. When did we say we all wanted to be recluses? Go on, I'd love to see it.

Just because some of us like to play the game alone from time to time doesn't make us reclusive. I highly suggest you stop throwing terms around that don't fit the context of the discussion at hand. It just reinforces the idea that you don't know what they really mean.

My mind isn't blown by you using it in a conversation, my mind is blown by how you used it. You don't use a condition or a disorder as a comparative insult.

And no, that's not the story of this thread. The story of this thread is Captain asking if anyone else had experienced a similar situation to his own in regards to teaming, and halfway down the first page you decide to roll in with a snarky comment that goes against the whole point of the thread. The rest of it is you making yourself out to be a biased, insensitive know-it-all.

Good point! You already diagnosed me via passive-aggressive insult. Good thing we have you around to save forumgoers money on shrink payments, PR.

In all seriousness, accusing me of having a mental disorder is, in fact, advising me to see a psychologist.

    ....

    What?

Seriously, what? Where did you get the idea I was getting mad? Where? Quote me and point out where I'm getting mad.

And what right do you think you have to tell me I may have a disorder? If you want to make people mad, telling them there's something wrong with them is a sure-fire way to do it.

I highly suggest you reevaluate your outlook on life and others, son, because right now you're not only making yourself out to be completely ignorant, you're also throwing words and terms and accusations around that might really upset someone. What if I did have an antisocial personality disorder? What if my coping mechanism was to play an online game? What if the only way I could socialize was through a medium that didn't actually require me to socialize with visible, present human beings?

Do you have any idea how huge a dick move your little retort would be if I really did have the aforementioned condition?

Up until my early teens I had an attention disorder. I had to be medicated for most of my developmental years. If you told me, to my face, that I didn't do something a certain way in-game because I had ADD I'd probably cuff you one. Not cool, PR. Not cool at all.

You should be ashamed of yourself, and I'm not saying that out of anger. If this is how you address things in your day-to-day life I pity you.

You have yourself a wonderful New Year.

  24. 46 unique characters and counting on Virtue, and not one repeated powerset/AT combo.
  25. Here's my methods.

"can I join ur team"/"team?"/"can i join plz"
    Replies: Nothing/Sorry, mostly AFK, in mission so I don't log/No, I'm soloing.

The last two replies almost always lead to:
    "plz"
    Reply: No.

Any further requests are met with a global/character ignore combo and a one-star note.

    Blind invite 1: Decline.
Blind invite 2: Send tell to inviter that boils down to "I don't want to team, don't invite me" followed by a decline.
Blind invite 3: Decline and hit the team leader with a global/character ignore combo. Add note, hit one star, write an appropriate note describing one-star.

I know that might seem a little extreme, but if you can't take the hint after two turn-downs you're not the kind of person I want to share game time with.
