I wasn't saying that a lot of the players don't like it, I was saying they could no longer like it. So then the above statement would become true.
[/ QUOTE ]
Say what?! That doesn't make any sense to me at all. -
You know you don't have to do the content with the other side? In fact, I'm sure the only co-op mission that actually requires the other side is the Valentine missions.
New zone - co-op or not - is still a new zone, bustling with story and new sights to explore. Surely that's always a good thing? -

9,000,000 / 62 * 0.8
So 116129.03
So that 160,000 seems about right worldwide. Certainly 160,000 in the EU only seems a bit high
[/ QUOTE ]
Okay, that looks about right. 160k.
But, look at it this way - still high enough to register on the scoreboard, even if only just
Edit: No SWG? No DDO on that list? Mmmmh. -
[ QUOTE ]
EU forums have 30,000 registered users, or thereabouts, US forums have 117,000 registered users, or thereabouts.
If they're taking subscription numbers from day one, and not excluding inactive accounts - then 160,000 could easily be EU only. Worldwide, it seems a little small.

According to joystiq.com, COH/COV has 0.8% of the market (as of April this year) whereas WOW has 62%.
Now I can't remember how to do maths properly, but I'm sure some cleverer person than myself can do that whole (well if 62% if 9 million, then 0.8% of that 100% figure is...) equation.
*sneaky edit* -

the MMO Mag that came with PC Gamer states that there are approx 160,000 subscribers to CoX would that be EUs numbers?
[/ QUOTE ]
I'd guess that's worldwide -

When has the US ever cared about the economy or even the environment sticking to the subject

Erm, if you hadn't just pulled my quote out of the reply I'd made, you'd see that was the exact point I'd made... -

Ethanol cars are much more expensive to buy, you get some tax reductions and such, but they consume so much more ethanol than a petrol car uses petrol the total cost is almost the same.
[/ QUOTE ]
Not to mention that ethanol takes approximately 70% more energy to produce that it returns...

[/ QUOTE ]Heroside, true. Villainside in a PUG, definitely not always true.
[/ QUOTE ]
Really? I've always found the Villains respec much easier than the Hero one and I've usually only known one person in the team. -
You know, I just missed that whole Billing page.
Thanks Nightmarer. -

That's 3 times now I've petitioned a mission (latest one was alevel 40 boss in mission when I've taken it at level 35) and 3 times the email telling me I wasn't online has dropped into my inbox less than 30 seconds since I log out, even if I've been on for hours since the petition.
[/ QUOTE ]
I can't really say that's been my experience. I tend to get the email usually a good 24 hours later...
[/ QUOTE ]
Looks like I'm getting the efficient shirkers, whereas you're getting the lazy ones.... wait, what?!
Edit: Better and better - now I've just got an email saying "Thanks for your feedback..."
That's wonderful, thanks for that reply... now how about actually doing something about the problem? -
Right. I'm wanting to add some slots, using a different card from the one that I pay my subscription from.
Is the only way to do this to cancel my subscription, change the card details, log in, add the slots, then cancel the subscription and go back to the original card details again? -
I don't think their routines are useless - I think they're very carefully planned.

Since I've been checking my email whilst I'm playing and since I've been playing for varying lengths of time in each of these circumstances, I can only assume that the customer service we are getting needs looked at.
If the GMs aren't responding deliberately until someone logs off, then what's the sodding point of them?
Shame, because I remember a few times around Issue 7 or 8 when I got a response within 5 minutes. Standards sure are slipping. -
Talos and Steel I think.
Cap Au Diable and Nerva for Villains -

That a misthought for Daily Mirror or is there another UK daily running a CoX competition?

I have to admit, the sites you suggest, such as gaming news, that I read are all based in the US, so that wouldn't be such a good place to advertise for the EU
[/ QUOTE ]
hehe why that matter? :O
the Internet is a global thing, does it really matter if "Gamespot"(or any other big gaming site) server is located in the US ?
[/ QUOTE ]
If that's the case, then why does Gamespot have a .uk et al version, rather than just a .com?
Advertising online is usually tailored to the region the website is based in.
There are regional restrictions too (many of the Steam games for example are only available in the US & Canada). -

Amazon.co.uk and Play.com are good sites, but expensive to advertise on too. (This money thing is what it all comes down to).
Same with cinema screens - before any of the superhero movies that come out this year would be good, but again, the money.
Trying to find somewhere to advertise that isn't expensive but will reach a large audience? Sounds like the holy grail for the advertising industry. -
[ QUOTE ]
More EU centric advertising, for example?
[/ QUOTE ]
There seems to be more - the Daily Mail competition for example?
I normally solo, but recently I've been in multiple teams on both Heroes and Villains with requests coming in multiple times. I'm seeing a lot more people running around that I used to - and I'm playing multiple alts at all levels.
They're not packed, but neither is there a lack of teams. Maybe a lot of folk are doing the co-op TFs right now, but there's definitely people there.
The day that the cost of running two servers becomes too much is the ONLY variable that NCSoft will use to say that a merge (an expensive process in itself, if my experience opening a 2nd data centre and virtualising servers for my organisation shows anything) is worth it.
And if players are playing more on one server than another, but there are still enough of us to cover the subscription cost for 4 servers? Well, I personally believe the 4 servers will stay open. -
My first 50 dinged in the Shadow Shard fighting the Rularuu minions, with members of my US SG fighting with me. It was awesome.
The others have been in the company of my duo partners and have been great fun. -
You missed April 1st by a little while, but good one

Been here 45 months
Still to do most of the Hero Task Forces, although I'm slowly working my way through them.
Never taken on Hamidon (unless you count dropping into it for a badge from a great height!)
Still got to get my oldest character (from back in the days of Issue 2) up to 50.
Still to get my blaster to 50.
Still got loads of character concepts to play with.
Still to wipe the memory of the hideous colours that my US SG gave us!
Still be here for a while yet -
The whole mouse inverted thing bugs me. I think COH has it backwards. Any other game where I invert the mouse, it goes to the way that COH has it by default.
Okay, that's all. -
You tell us now, while we can't actually unlock anything because of the whole server maintenance thingy...?!
If anyone needs me, I'll be in the Angry Dome -
WASD movement
QERT/123456 for main attacks/powers.
Numpad +/7/9 for toggles - Numpad 8 for heal
Numpad */ - / & "/" too for build up/aim other things
(differences for Khelds through)
Target Nearest enemy is mouse 4 - reset camera is mouse 5.
The emotes take up the right hand side of my keyboard (I've got one of those split keyboards).
Cursor keys are costume slots (I've still to bind /cc 4)
Autorun is z and shift is Toggle Sprint. Ctrl is target Next Friend
