Horatio, first I wanna thank you for the response. Second, I wanna mention that the biggest thing I took from your response is that this TF can be soloed. That makes me very happy. Being /SR my main will need inspirations(damn Carnie AV), and it will probably take several hours. But I'm a very happy person now.
Also, you forgot to say a corny one-liner, put on sun glasses and march off screen. I'm very disappointed. -
OP doesn't know what he's talking about, otherwise he would have an answer for the problem of pissed customers that can't or won't pay for special access. He ignores that point completely.
-
What I would like to see is the ability to customize the enemies actions. Kinda like the gambit system in Final Fantasy 12.

But setting aside priority slots for a higher price is right in the supply and demand curve.
[/ QUOTE ] You're assuming that doing that won't harm demand. That is a pretty big assumption. -

Firstly no, Scrappers just got anew set Shields that stalkers didn't. Why should Scrappers get /Nin besides the reason that you want it?
[/ QUOTE ] Why shouldn't they get it besides you wanting to be petty and vindictive?
[/ QUOTE ]Whats life without being petty and vindictive? It's not life I want to live, that's for sure!
[/ QUOTE ] I actually don't have a problem with it, I was just wondering if there were any other reasons.
If I had a problem with it I would have called him a bad word or something else mature. -

Allowing customers to pay more for more services is one of the cornerstones of a business.
First class airline seating. Universal Studios ticket upgrades. Limited access seating at stadiums and concerts. The list goes on and on.
Not one of these causes the millions of people who don't have that premium access to not fly, or not go to Universal, or not go to ball games or concerts. If you need to fly from Kansas City to Denver, you will, regardless of whether you can afford a first class ticket. Those that DO have the access have a more enjoyable experience because they can afford to.
Don't want to bump non-priority players off? OK, I get that, and it's why I said "maybe". What you CAN do is set aside a given number of server access slots for those players who pay extra, just like a first class seating section. Everyone else competes for the remaining slots just like always. Everyone gets to Denver.
[/ QUOTE ] The big flaw in your idea is you would be decreasing value for the people that choose not to participate in your idea, while at the same time having them pay the same price they always have. That is a bad idea. That would probably piss off more people than make happy, and that is a bad thing. -
I think I'm finally gonna give another server a try. Don't get me wrong, I like Freedom and I never have any problems double XP weekend, but I think it's time. I originally moved there(from Victory) because it is busy and was super easy to get on teams.
Now I don't like teaming. I tolerate it(sometimes) when doing Task Forces or farming. But other than that I can't stand it. Maybe I'll move back to Victory or try out Pinnacle(I like to drink). -
[ QUOTE ]
I do not hate Freedom Server. I do hate the unfounded sense of entitlement that some players on Freedom Server have.
[/ QUOTE ] I actually don't buy that. People are inherently selfish. There are just more people on Freedom so they are louder than everybody else. Think of them like Cowboys Fans. In reality they aren't worse than any other fan base out there, but since there are so many you hear their [censored] a lot more(I know, I'm a Cowboys fan). -

Priority access, what a stupid concept. But lets have fun with it anyway...
Say it does amazingly well and enough priority players boot off those unworthy pathetic players who both can't afford to pay more and are too stupid to just try another server.
You still grey out the server when it his x players no matter what they're paying.
Are you going to come back begging for another even more uber tier of pricing - super premium to make sure you get in even when its cram full of lowly premium people?
[/ QUOTE ]
Absolutely. If you get full, that's proof you didn't charge enough. Charge more the next time. Not everyone gets to sit in the front row of the sold out concert. Those with more resources do. It's business.
Business is about charging what the market will bear, not about fairness.
And this thread just proves how many of you hate Freedom server. Many of you admit it openly. If you were in favor of what is good for the game and its owners, you would want them to make as much money as possible.
[/ QUOTE ] Why are you talking about business? You are clearly very ignorant about the subject. -

what I am saying is, there is more than just doing the AE missions all the time...
[/ QUOTE ] That is just their excuse. In reality nobody likes you. -

but if it ain't baroque, don't fix it.
[/ QUOTE ] Question, anyone know where you can download MP3s of Classical music for free legally? I know the music itself is in the public domain, but the actual recordings may or may not be.
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't want to be quoted on this yet (since I am now on a quest to find out for sure), but it would seem that if a public domain work is performed without any significant modifications, then that performance most likely would not be protected.
After all, unless there is some meta-data that has not been stripped out of a recording of a performance, how would anyone truly be able to tell whether or not it was performed by generic orchestra A or generic orchestra B, if the performance was note for note as per the original arrangement?
Time to post a question to the U.S. Copyright and Trademarks Office I guess.
[/ QUOTE ] It is my understanding that specific recordings and performances are protected under IP law. Let's say Hey Jude by the Beatles at some point comes into the public domain. If Random Band A does a perfect cover of the song on one of their albums they do own that version, but only their version. -
This TF seems perfect for an all Scrapper team.

To the OP, no you didn't HAVE to reroll ever

I suppose a person could easily argue that both of these emote QoL improvements are highly questionable uses of the Devs' time and effort.
[/ QUOTE ] True, but I would disagree(I realize you're not making that claim). Even though emotes and stuff like RP don't matter to me, they do matter to other people. And the more people they make happy the better it is for the game. And that directly benefits me, therefore I care. -
Devs, I beg you, do whatever you feel like. I'm able to play on Freedom every double xp weekend without many problems. The few server crashes aren't a big deal to me. If you want to upgrade capacity, that's fine. If you don't, that's fine too. I'm able to do what I want, therefore I don't care.

2) You respec and pull out your 10 most valuable level 30 SO (damage and accuracy, I believe) and you either sell them on the market, or just sell them back at stores. Then you buy all your new SO or IO enhancements like you did in option 1. This costs X-infl minus the price of what you sell those 10 enhancements for.
[/ QUOTE ] I believe TO, DO, and SO enhancements sell back for their original purchase price if you sell them at the respec screen. -

In some cases yes. However, I have witnessed how people talk to other people on these forums. I have seen how they will talk down to people and come off seeming like they think they are better than the person they are replying to.
Whether this is with motive I don't know. I've seen it, I don't like it and therefore the people who act this way I've just decided to quit responding to once its evident that is how they act.

Currently I'm just using the free respecs to pull expensive enhancements off retired characters and alternate builds.
[/ QUOTE ]
That is the true purpose of a respec.

I'm in favor of allowing people to choose how they want to do it. Some will use it, some won't. But I would put money on the torrent users downloading a lot faster. At least for the first few days.
