Very clearly a bug: happened, undocumented, right after an issue release or major patch. Doesn't happen in COV or didn't last I checked. Plus it's been like this for, what, a year, year and a half now? ANd it's War_Witch's thing, right? I can only guess it broke and she doesn't want to rewrite all the dialogue so leaves it so.
[/ QUOTE ]
It was documented, and relates to Chimora. The citizens there used to reference things happening in Paragon, some odd centuries into the future. So the two are some how tied together in code, and fixing must be either a big pain, or low on the priority list. I'm thinking both. -

I approve of this revelation and would like to sign up for your newsletter.

Agreed. I wish there were a Steelclaw newsletter I could receive weekly, Extra edition on Sundays. -

Me too. I want my Amazing Power Suit wearing Little Girl to be realized! -

This thread is making me feel all kinds of nostalgic. I remember when my first Hero got to 50, and he expended all the content that was available at the time. He ended up retiring from the Hero business to become a farmer.
A Kora fruit farmer.
[/ QUOTE ]
My first level 50, an Ill / Emp Controller, finished out every possible contact, even going so far as to fill out every bar for all the infinite mission contacts, and ended her days as a Kora Fruit farmer.
When I moved on and made another character, she became forgotten, only brought out of the closet to do special events and once in a life time badges.
Then one day, when MA came out and I was feeling nostalgic, I logged into her. And I thought, "Why don't I do my Kora Fruit mission, once and for all?" So I selected it, and was surprised to find it was in Galaxy. "Well that can't be right", I said, and went to investigate the door. It turned out to be a warehouse, and upon entering, I was in a Shadow Shard cave filled with Rularuu minions and Kora Fruit!
That's right, I farmed so much Kora Fruit, I opened a plantation in Galaxy City. -

It's called a reroll.
Further explanation: Devs have already said it won't ever happen. And just because you know how to work an Illusion controller doesn't mean you can work a Fire or Earth controller.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'd call it a retroll.
*cough*
[/ QUOTE ]
Really? Given that the OP has been on the forums for about a month is it too hard to believe this could be a legitimate suggestion? The term "troll" really needs to stop being used for any post someone doesn't like or agree with.
[/ QUOTE ]
I thought it was a pun off the way the OP used "troller" to denote what AT they were talking about. -
I'm going to answer this question: "What do you do at end-game in CoX?" because it seems more open.
I alternate between rolling alts, and perfecting a recent level 50. I say "recent level 50" because I don't go back and touch any level 50 that's been there for a while. My first 50 still has SOs in it, I believe. I'll pull them out if I need one for a specific team, TF, or mission. But other then that, they tend to sit there and collect dust.
Now, my Warshade however, has seen the best end, as I recently fell in love with her again and ended up purpling out several of her powers. I've still got a ways to go on her, and for now she's done in favor of the newer alts (all seven of them now, after a round of deletions). -

Personally, if anything I'd rather see it turned into kind of a copy of Omega Manuever.
[/ QUOTE ]
This is something I have been in favour of ever since the OM came out
[/ QUOTE ]
I'd rather have it drop a Terrorize on enemies withing a short range, for a short time, similar to the Assassin Strike adjustment. -
[ QUOTE ]
It doesn't have to have happen all the time just at a height were the character will take some damage.
[/ QUOTE ]
How about "significant damage"? I ask for distinction because a player dropping from a second story will take a few points of damage, but the height is only slightly higher then what a player can jump. Also, if a player runs downhill, the game doesn't always register that you're running, and upon reaching the bottom, can take falling damage. Just a point or two, mind you, but it's not very accurate.
The same can be completed by "surfing" the war walls. The slopes on those are such that if you jump at them at the correct height, you can move up and down, while going horizontally, along the War Wall. It all counts as "falling", and can incur a stiff falling damage penalty, depending on how many times you go up and down before stopping.
I like the idea, but I would think it better if it only occurred when a certain percentage of health was removed from falling. So that lower level characters would do it more often, but as you gained in levels, you would have to drop from higher up to preform the same percentage HP loss. -

I helped a newbie out today and taught him about things like respecs, travel powers and jetpacks.
[/ QUOTE ]
I taught a new player just 20 minutes ago about how to use Body Guard Mode on their MM to prevent deaths.
I also taught that same MM about the Malefactor feature. -
How about the temp powers be purchasable through the system with Tickets?
This way players can buy the Temp Powers they want, instead of being issued ones for playing any type of missions. -
[ QUOTE ]
So, like the Arena, but...
- Everyone has a portable Arena kiosk.
- There are non-deathmatch options (other than Pokemon).
Sounds good, but what about non-instanced Zone PvP? Just drop it altogether?
[/ QUOTE ]
I wouldn't suggest dropping Zone PvP. Instead, I'd make it a "PvE content" where PvP is possible. Perhaps a form of the Mothership Raid, where if you're side controls the objective, you must defend it (prevent the placing of bombs, defend Pylon points, aid a non-buffable / non-healable AV / GM).
This way, players could get together and Raid it, PvE style, but players from the other side could come in and defend the objectives as best they could. This would give a form of PvE objectiveness that allows people to "pick and choose" when and how they fight, but still allow open PvP. -
[ QUOTE ]
Nice, easy fix to pvp participation there, SpeakerJones.
[/ QUOTE ]
Indeed. Though from WAR, I'd steal their ability to go to instances from any point in the game. They don't have to go out of their way to an Arena to join a queue for instanced PvP. Instead, they can bring up a window, select which PvP instances they want to participate in, and the first to fill up is the one you get the option to join.
A pop up shows up on your screen that lasts a good while asking if you want to join the instance, or exit the queue. If you join, you zone from where you're standing to the instance, and when the PvP instance is completed (usually a timed event) you zone back to the point where you left.
There's the hazard of coming back to a spawn of NPCs standing right where you are, but that's why you move someplace safe before clicking "Yes". They still have PvP "zones" (sections where there is open PvP") with a kind of capture the flag / king of the kill feel (similar to RV here, but without the Heavies), but you can hop into instanced PvP from anywhere, while doing anything (except in the middle of combat, the "yes" button is greyed out then).
That's what I would add to our PvP experience that WAR has. -
EDIT: I was wrong... Westin Phipps doesn't have either of those... I'm not sure who those belong to now.

I hope this isn't how we are suppose to judge the skill of our fellow players. Otherwise, I'm in deep [censored].

No. Only if you declare you are the GREATEST PLAYER EVAR right before faceplanting over and over and over and over again on the same group of MOBs.

But what else am I going to use that whole tray of Awakens for? -
[ QUOTE ]
I've RPed almost all the PvE options. Also if you RP in a PvP zone long enough you'll end up with a badge. Same for walking around town RPing as you go to exploration badges. In fact I'd say you could RP the whole damn list without any issue. Just last night a small group of us RPed that giant monster in Dark Astoria for the badgey.
I think you are doing it wrong.
[/ QUOTE ]
See, I read that first "RPed" as a word that was just missing a letter (the letter 'a', for those who are curious), and from then on in your post, replaced every instance of "RP" with that word. Made your post a lot more chuckle worthy. Then I felt bad for the victims. -
I loved that arc, Bill. Felt kind of lack luster in the end (almost a Romeo and Juliet arc), but it was very nicely done.
As for the question: I think others have covered my feelings and thoughts on it. And for NPC goodness, confuse a Fortunata and have them activate Mind Link. You'll get the bonus, and can right click the power and get the info. Beware though, it's a power that constantly interrupts you, so don't do it if you (or your team) rely on things like Trip Mine, AS, Medicine Pool, etc. -
Just going to hop in and mention that this:
"C.) Defense caps on all AT's are higher than the Res cap on any AT"
is a good reason for Defense to have a higher value, and doesn't support your argument. Though you should probably mention that soft capping defense (45%) is enough, and anything over that, and towards the cap, should be reserved for things that hit more accurately, or are scaled (like LTs, Bosses, EBs, AVs). In which case you should mention that hitting the Resistance cap, will ALWAYS be the resistance cap no matter what you fight (from that -1 minion to the +4 AV, you'll still resist the damage).
Honestly, I like all your suggested improvements, except the one about doubling value. I'm not convinced that's required. -

Since when? Cloaking Device suppressed as soon as you activated Trip Mine or Time Bomb the last I checked, but it's been quite awhile since I've logged my Elec/Dev into the game and tried any toe-bombing.
[/ QUOTE ]
Since at the very least I13 when I got my first Devices Blaster set up with Cloaking Device, Trip Mine and a Stealth Proc. I stealth bomb all the time without being detected.
I haven't gotten to the point of adding Time Bomb to the menu yet, but I'm sure much more destructive hilarity will ensue.
[/ QUOTE ]
I've been able to do it since I3 with my AR / Dev. The only time I couldn't was with an enemy with high Perception (snipers / Drones / certain Rularuu). -
*looks up from butcher's table with questionable... meat*
I don't know what you're getting at. Please. Elaborate. -
Scorpio: Fiery Ares is not your friend this week, as you'll need a cool head to use your natural charms to get to the bottom of any upcoming missions. A little subtlety and acting may be required for things like Arc # 126073: The Clockwork Crusade.
Faction: Arachnos, Vahzilok, Council, Clockwork
Creator Global/Forum Name: @YanYan
Difficulty Level: Easy to Moderate, designed to be solo able by any AT
Mission Levels: 1-20
Estimated Time to Play: 30 Minutes to an Hour.
Synopsis: Hero Corps has asked you for some unique help. Seems the Clockwork are making some strange attacks against other villains. They've asked you to 'assist' them under cover.

I would like this, in an effort to simulate a street sweeping missions, among other things.

I appreciate your attempt at a clean slate.
I suggest investigating your server's Forum. I personally don't go down that way, because I have no desire to involve myself with that section, but I hear it can be a wealth of information pertaining to each server. Those sections are usually filled with people who call that server "home", and tend to be interested in the community it provides.
Therefore, your best chance at meeting people, finding the proper channels, and even finding a new Super Group (as I heard your current one is now empty from time). -
