If you ask me, they messed up on defenders and corruptors. Corruptors should be the villainous ones who can feel their enemy's pain, and still attack - Where as the heroic defenders should have domination over pain, allowing them to feel and remove it, from allies AND enemies.

    You empaths are evil.

Someone woke up on the Emo side of the bed today.
  2. I just rolled a Psi/MM and got him up to 18... honestly, it's the toughest up-hill battle I've ever had with a blaster. The single target attacks are certainly a drawback and you really have to be creative to survive the low levels... especially solo.

With all the ST attacks, I had high hopes for this build as an adequate blapper... but realizing that PSW doesn't even show up until lvl 38 and most of the animation times seem to crawl (not to mention rooting), I may have to re-think that strategy.

Is this set challenging and interesting to play? Yes, absolutely!!!

Is it "fun"? For me, not so far.

I have to agree with others that Psi is pretty weak in comparison to other blaster primaries and definitely needs a little love from the devs.
  3. That's awesome!!!

And my friends always wonder why I read the forums so much.

    My turn at last

In my experience it really depends on how lucky you get with drops and what market rates are at any given time. In fact, I've been conducting a similar experiment as the OP with a blaster I rolled a few days ago.

This blaster has sold every drop he received, so far, and reached lvl 18 today. After buying DOs at lvl 12 and updating them at lvl 18, his total bank is about 350k. Not that this amount is anything to sneeze at, but it's nowhere near the 1 mil mark (as stated by a previous poster).

Thing is, my blaster hasn't received a single recipe that was part of a set yet, just common IOs. He teams 1/2 the time and solos the other half. So, there were good chances of getting something good, but it just hasn't happened. Sure, a few Luck Charms have dropped here and there, but that's about it. I realize it's still early in his career and he may start getting some good drops after 20, so you never know.

Coincidentally, I have a friend who almost never gets any good drops in all the time I've known him and he's always broke on just about every toon he has... it's rather humorous, really... but like I said, it's all a matter of luck and it's different for everyone.
  5. Just wanted to chime in and report that I've experienced no crashes since the last patch (18.20090422.5T). Thus, I feel my suspicions were correct in assuming the issue was not client related.
  6. I'm guessing that CoH is trying to compensate for your 'widescreen' mode and doing a poor job of it. Like you said, if your in-game resolution matches your desktop resolution, then that should fix it. But, I'm sure someone other than I has a better knowledge of how all that works.

If it makes you feel any better, I too set my in-game resolution to match my desktop resolution (1280x1024), but the game still vertically stretches the screen an inch or two and I've followed all of the instructions I could find on this forum to fix it. At this point, I've just given up and decided to live with it. :/

I think it's an EVGA, GeForce 7600 GT. The physical damage is that two of the components, look like little batteries, were blown out the top, some chemicals inside kind of foamed up through the top.

Dooooooood, that sounds bad... seriously! Seems to me that at one point your card was on the verge of taking a nose-dive and I'm quite surprised it's still functioning. Also, the fact that it's an old card (and has aparent damage from overheating) could definitely factor into the problems you're experiencing.

Again, I'm no expert, but even I know when to upgrade. o.O

    AE Badge Bug?

Seems odd that the badges are awarded account wide... I just don't see the point of it... but whatever. *shrugs*
  9. I would just call your credit card company and terminate the "hacked" CoH account. Then proceed to the nearest store and purchase a retail copy of the game and start a new account using the key that comes in the box.

Prosecuting your "friend" is up to you after that point, but at least it ends the account in question.
  10. Well as they say: Nothing lasts forever... even if it's under warranty, LOL. Just a fact of life in the electronic jungle.

It has to have something to do with AE.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Believe it or not, I've only ever crashed once during an AE mission and the whole team crashed at the same time. The most frequent crashes seem to happen outside of AE. In fact, I just now froze trying to enter a normal mission and had to manually quit the game.

I sure hope the devs have enough time to take a look at this problem before pushing out I15, cuz the whole system seems to be F-U-B-A-R.
  12. Wow, the last time I saw an image like that was 2 years ago right before the vid card fried in my previous machine.

Not to say that your card is about to blow (because quite honestly, I14 is causing some serious havoc for people all across the board), but I'd do some serious investigating before ruling that possibility out.

I'm no tech expert, just relaying my passed experience with video-card-flambe'.
  13. Nope, not just a Vista 64 issue, either.

I'm using XP-Pro on an Intell Duo-Core system with 4 gigs of memory, which is more than enough for COX. Not only that, I upgraded my graphics card to a NVIDIA 9500 GT (512 MB DDR2) about a month prior to I14.

The game was running like a dream pre-I14 and I was quite a happy camper... now I'm just frustrated... someone give me a hug.
  14. You two aren't the only ones this is happening to. Before i-14, I never crashed and only had lag during server-wide events (i.e. Rikti invasions, Zombie invasions, etc.). And now? The game seems to crash at least once a day and lags at weird times... it's all very random.

And before anyone tells me to post a "Diag/HijackThis", I've always run a very clean and tight machine and nothing has changed on my rig since i-13... no new programs, firewalls, hardware, etc.

So, the problem definitely is NOT on my end. The devs changed something in the game's code and now everything is unusually wonky. Minor bugs I can live with, but when you start crashing for no apparent reason... that's just plain wrong!
  15. From what I can tell, the "auto fire" starts to malfunction once you zone, interact with Wentworths, the Black Market, a store or contact. But as soon as you target a foe and engage in battle, it will fire as normal (even though it sometimes waits for a break in an attack chain) and will continue to do so until no foes are attacking you. After that, it returns to it's "broken" state.

In misions, it seems to work fine... except for the "waiting" that I mentioned, but that I can live with (could be worse, ya' know?).
