Ooo... redname feedback! Mind playing Glory of Moment (in my sig)? It's been my baby as of late, since I thought of it during my time-off from the game, and then tried to adapt it over a period of a week or two to MA. Although there are bits I'm unsure of...
-
I remember that from the first CoH costume contest.
...Excuse me, I need some brain bleach. -
-
Damn you, OP... you made me Rickroll myself...
-
My first scrapper, Pirate-Ninja, would've likely been Katana/Willpower instead of Katana/Regen if I was leveling him today, since Regen just doesn't fit thematically. And then I would've likely been able to get him to 50 first instead of my AR/Dev Blaster, and then I'd have hated leveling my Warshade, since he wouldn't have seemed so "OMGAWESOME" compared to my first 50.

Quote:Actually, it does, since making him a balllista makes him a walking MacGuffin in the instances that you fail the mission, since I can't be sure in those scenerios that you actually found the bits of data that says that Moment was funneling information about Longbow's Ballista armor. Similarly, the clue-case that Crimson hands you at the beginning of mission 1 does the same thing in case time runs out (though I won't spoil the moment of badassery you pull in that instance).
One worth considering is the possibility that Lt. Moe Monty doesn't *have* to be a Ballista - sure the base has research into the armor, but that doesn't necessarily mean Lt. Monty actually needs to be one
As for Moment being Nicti... that came about from a vague memory of a post on the old boards that might not be accurate. Something along the lines of a poster asking when we're getting a real shapeshifting AT (this was after Issue 3), when Khelds were introduced), and ol' Jack Emmert just pointed to Kheldians and said "There's your shapeshifting AT." Anyway, Khelds and Nicti retain memories of any forms they once possessed, so I figured it couldn't be that much of a stretch to have him assume that form outside of a body, even if in actuality, he couldn't survive very long without a body anyway.
Also, there were technical limitations that forced me to keep Moment's true form a Black Dwarf... mainly, the fact that Unbound Nictus can NEVER be selected in MA. Hell, at one point, Moment was supposed to summon a Nicti ambush at certain health levels. However, choosing "Nictus" as your ambush group really only gives you an ambush full of Void Hunters. Not wanting my ambush to be ignorable by 12 ATs and brutal to 2, I dropped the ambush altogether. -
Glory of Moment just got posted on CoHMR. I'd appreciate a review. ID number's in my sig.

Mostly worked on some redside tunes. Got an Elec/NRG stalker from 22 to 32, and a Zombie/Thermal from 11 to 26. Over all, I really played light.
-
Oh, c'mon! Take all three on both. There's no kill like overkill!
-
I'd certainly be interested in a review of Glory of Moment, in my sig. Though I should mention, since you say you mostly play villians, it was written with heroes in mind (and is tagged as Heroic, obviously). That said, it hasn't seen much play, and I'd be interested to see your opinion of it.

To be honest, I just go "/release_pets" when that happens and force a dismissal. I'll try throwing Fire Shields on them next time.

Quote:Here's the thing: in theory, in mayhem missions, we're supposed to hit the bank last. In theory. In practice, that's not how it works out.Perhaps safeguards should be run in reverse? Not identical to mayhems, of course.
What if the bank robbery was the capstone to everything else? Or at least a percentage of it. Set a point system for NPC villains stopped, higher amounts for completing the side missions. Once the team reaches X number of points, they're rewarded with the bank alarm and the final scenario.
Safeguard missions force you to work in reverse to how the devs thought players would work in mayhem missions. You go for the bank first, and take out the smaller heists later. -
From monitoring the defense values that hide gives my Elec/NRG stalker, the only part of the defense that surpresses is the massive AoE bonus that you get while hidden. It doesn't seem to reduce the type-based bonuses (which are rather small). My eyes could be deceiving me, though.
The stealth suppresses, obviously. -
Sorry if this breaks the topic, but I just thought I'd show off my Zombie/Thermal's shields. Similar Bright and Dark effects blend well. -
They should've used "melonfarming" in the censored-for-TV version of Snakes on a Plane.

Quote:There's an easy way to do that: put the level slider in the TF Challenge screen alongside no defeats, time limits, and all that other stuff. Obviously, you'll want to leave out the -1 option. Unfortunately, I don't see an easy way to do this with spawn sizes, but allowing people to run the Statesman TF at +4 should be challenge enough. The ability to have your difficulty slider affect your Task Forces and Strike Forces has been temporarily disabled. This was done to prevent people from running through a TF/SF with the difficulty set at -1 level in order to more easily get the “Master Of...” Badge. We know that many of you enjoy the challenge of running the higher-end TFs/SFs at increased levels of difficulty and we are looking at solutions that will allow you to do that once again. .
We apologize for the inconvenience.

They do it more often than not, but my Grave Knight still occasionally sits back and spams Dark Blast. No Gloom (since that forces a Sword draw and then he might as well charge into melee), just Dark Blast.

FLAMING ZOMBIES!
...Sorry, I'm just having too much fun with my little level 12 Zombie/Thermal. They're darn sturdy. -
-
Meanwhile, I'm happy with my wispy blue Thermal shields for my zombies. Makes them look less like they're on fire and more like their own souls are acting as shields.

Glory of Moment in my sig might be worth a look. It's a bit long (4 missions), but none of the missions are too big. There's plenty of challenge, even with me using only stock enemies! I mean, Malta... need I say more? Plus, Longbow Ballistas! (Ballistae? I can never tell.) There is a defeat all, but the map is quite linear and of reasonable size. And, yes I do have one ship... but honestly, it was the only thing I could think of that I use to transition to in case of both a failure and success. Give it a try. Could be up your SG's alley.
-
I know this is REALLY the wrong thread for this, since it's about helping newbies become better players, but I have a story where my help ended up backfiring.
Recently, I was swimming to the Facemaker on my level 6 Zombie/Thermal MM. (FLAMING ZOMBIES!) Along the way, I get a tell from someone asking me to join their SG. Immediately following was the invite. I decline and politely explain that the worst SGs are ones made of complete strangers. I don't ever hear another word from this guy... except for the blind SG invite I recieve the next day. Completely blind, not even a tell beforehand.
So, somehow... this guy not only went against my advice... he degenerated from being polite. -
I thought we went over this: it's because they have to actually hit buttons, rather than sit at the door and act as a XP sponge. Yes, with SSKing, it's possible for one person to do nothing but Sewer Teams, but then they're locked out of the majority of their powers for the majority of the game, and they'll HATE that.
-
There's nothing wrong with trying it solo, I'm just saying you may fail one mission, since you have a Ballista that runs and will likely Detention Field you. If you want to try it solo, go ahead. In fact, it might make the Malta easier.
-
I have an arc to recommend you, but I suggest you do it at least in a duo (lv. 40+ Ballistas are brutal, thanks, Detention Field!), and be at least the mission's minimum level (Malta are annoying... seriously). It's in my sig, the Glory of Moment (328789).
