    Noob Question...

o'kay,... like i said, dont go nutz with the power pools at the cost of your primary and secondary powers, but Nog gives good advice...

Fitness is a standard for most every build, reguardless of AT, over 85% (5% dont know what they are doing, 5% dont care what they're doing, and 5% just know what they're doing too dam well) of the player base uses it and there is a very good reason why, you'll want to get Stamina when it unlocks at lvl 20, which also requires 2 choices from the pool before that point, you'll want health as well and that unlocks at lvl 14, as long as you've chosen one of the first two, so decide between swift and hurdle ... swift makes your base movement speed faster, hurdle makes you jump speed and hight faster/higher ... with that option hurdle is faster aslong as you dont mind bunny-hopping everywhere ...

also the leaping pool is one of the better travel power pools for a melee type, combat jump will boost your def higher and cost very very little endurance to keep toggled on, than at 14 you can take super jump which is one of the best travel powers as it allows for both horizontal and vertical movement with that combined with hurdle, your jump speed will be extremely fast and high (leaping over tall buildings in a single bound'ish) ...

if you figure those 5 (combat jump / super jump / hurdle / health / stamina) ... you get a new power every even lvl (until you hit your 30's) ... at lvl 6 to lvl 20, that's 8 power choices, if you devote those 5 choices that leaves you with 3 more which you deffinately want from your primary/secondary ... since you went with the sword&board theme ... i'd suggest Parry (will help your youngling surviveability) Active Defense (your mez protection, Very much needed, two recharge enh's) and Against All Odds (it's just that awesome) ...

also a few other words of advice, dont bother with confront (or really any of the scrapper AT taunts) about 95% of scrappers will tell you it's worthless, leave the taunting to the tankers, no point in wasteing time taunting them when you could be hacking them to pieces, plus AAO has a nice taunt aura in it already,... be sure to research sloting options, lvl 1-11 TO's, lvl 12-21 DO's , lvl 22+ SO's (there's also IO's both basic and set types and HO's... but dont worry about that stuff right now) i'd suggest attacks slot acc first, two slots worth, the damage 3 slots worth, and the sixth slot to your tastes, either rech or endred, ect... def toggles one endred and three def ... there are plenty of guides poping up all the time with lots of info you can read up on... but the best advice i can give is "HAVE FUN"
  2. my main is a DM/Regen , and i've solo'd a large majority of the AV's in the game ... all no temp's (cept maybe the occasional SafeGuard or buff station) and most no insp's (certain ones require it with them bubbleing or self healing on a certain time cycle when they get so low) ... the only types i haven't heard of soloing AV's are Spines/*

    Noob Question...

it really depends on your play style,... i'd suggest you figure out and develope a concept you like first and then find what would best fit that concept... with scrappers there really is no bad powerset combos ... there is alot to learn in building a scrapper, and each power set combo has its own individual learning curve, one word of advice... power pool's are nice, but do NOT get sucked into chooseing too many too early at the cost of neglecting your primary and secondary powers,... if you have any questions about anything in perticular, feel free to ask in these forums, most people here will be glad to help

    All scrapper STF

i can do Virtue if need be
  5. sorry ta break it ta ya, but WP is one of the weakest scrapper choices in PvP, simply for the fact that RttC is rendered minimal to nil effective, dont get me wrong, i'm not saying your screwed or anything, actually, far from it, ... just that you may want to look into devoteing a PvP build and a PvE build, among your dual build choices, since you'll be looking for alot of different aspects between one and the other, depending on how much you actually plan to PvP
  6. i see what ya did, BrandX ... and the alt as'well was a valiant effort, but yeah, wasn't just for the proc, proc was just the iceing, the 6set bonus is just fanominal,... also i'd point out a few things for your help, ... the agile, dodge, and lucky can be sloted with a lotg def in place of one of the basic IO's to eak out some more regen from the 2set bonus with the same def values, and the stamina endmod IO can be replaced with the P'Shift endmod/acc and will actually yield a higher return on recovery with the 4set bonus,... theres no denieing that the apoc set is very favorable for scrappers... i have gathered a good ammount of insighton the matter concerning a few dilemas, and, hehe... as Werner stated, i wonder just how close we did get to Shred Monkey's actual build

I'm almost sure a gapless BF AS SS AS chain isn't possible without external buffs.

    [/ QUOTE ]

can anyone confirm or disprove this ?

also, is there any type of guide that shows the effective enhanceable and non-enhanceable DDR type powers and thier ratios ? , MID's at current doesn't seem to do this very well. i try looking through the guides as they are, but after the fifty'ith or so one with no help, maybe someone with better search-fu may have an answer

    All scrapper STF

as of right now, STF is still broken on live and test
  9. this one for the living dead fans

Marvel Zombies (really well done, not for the kiddies)

and if you ever seen the "Hi, I'm a MAC" ... "And I'm a PC" comercials ... you will love anything from this guy, it starts out as a bunch of comedy skits and then the story-line just explodes into amazeing, and it is all ROFLMMFAO

I'm not saying I'd put it in a click power, I'm saying I wouldn't care where I put it. From a number perspective, it doesn't seem like this proc worth caring about.

    [/ QUOTE ]

i completely understand where your comeing from in a "number perspective" , but there seems to be a rather more than calculatable discrepancy between therory and practice, ... the RNG is what it is as in Random, though i see it in effect on paper, i dont find it to be the case in practice ... i do belive the RNG is a'bit bias when dealing with a limited scale, perhaps it has to do with the clamps, but it seems to hit the mark more often then theory would show when dealing with either extremes.
  11. i've found that the proc itself seems to proc alot more often on a 10sec pulse than it does in a click attack chain, it's really an opinion prefferance i guess, and with it being a unique it's the only way to get the 6set bonus as'well, but also that it's less of a time consumer in set's that dont have BU such as DB Claws DM ect... not to mention the 1-5 set bonuses and its enhancement values work better in a toggle, and BF, FU, and SD,... you want some acc and maybe dam in
  12. it seems fairly feasible, and as werner said, "tweakable",

wondering where exactly the 0.16s gap is, and if it's coverable,
also would like to run the GSF-C set toggle permanently, as the proc spikes the damage output in AV fights and such with'out the pause of haveing to pop BU or insp or such in while trying to run an attack chain, not that it's all that disconcerting in a chain, but i perticularly find that set's with'out a BU (as in a click self dam/acc buff) find it alot more desireable in a toggle, plus the fun surprise when you 1shot something just out of nowhere is way too fun,
also as the kismet you mention but i dont see, not that it was a requirement, but if it were to replace something in there what would the DDR effect be, on that note: is there any type of guide that shows the effective enhanceable and non-enhanceable DDR type powers and thier ratios ? , MID's at current doesn't seem to do this very well.

though i am curious as to why you'd pass up PF with it being a passive +5def ...

    [/ QUOTE ]

PF gives you 3.75% defesne when solo.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    not for a TANKER

Every now and then, I see that my defenses get buffed by the enemy on a regular basis.

exactly which enemies are buffing you ?

    Shield Question

grant cover will go alot farther and do you and your team alot better,...
though i am curious as to why you'd pass up PF with it being a passive +5def ...
  16. FM/FA has the best burst damage in the game, it is also one of the higher DPS/DPE/DPA for both ST and AOE ... but is probablly not what you'll want for AV solo'in
  17. o'kay, hmmm, try this one out then when you have time...

    DB/SR
    requirements...
    1. must be soft cap'd def to all posistions (and highest DDR of which, current MIDs isn't very accurate in)

    2. must have highest possible ST DPS attack chain ((BF>AS>SS>AS ... repeat, i think is what it is, though i'm not exactly sure it's the best or feaseable, need a'bit of input on this)(with 95% tohit +4's in each attack of the chain, easyer to do if #4 can run full time))

    3. must have Aid Self

    4. must incorperate a full set of GSF-C in a toggle

    5. must(?) have perma-hasten (this i belive is required for the highest dps chain, if not than can exclude)

    6. must include -res proc(s) (there's a PvP IO type as'well i belive)

    7. needs to be endurance efficient for long fights

    8. travel power is optional (but is nice for BotZ's though not opposed to the BotZ in elude)

    9. kismet unique would be nice in auto or toggle (as long as it does not hinder DDR)

    10. unlimited budget

    11. does Not need to be exemp friendly

    12. does Not need to be PvP friendly
    ...

i know it's asking for alot, but i think it's possible, if so or if not, i still like the brainstorming concept of this thread

    Scrapper Vote

SD ... i like to be different ... plus i really want to see him actually make one
  19. Morbid Star

    Dark Melee + ???

there's nothing wrong with it ...

there are only four bad power set combos in all the options of the scrapper AT, and those are...
    DB/SD , Kat/SD , Claws/SD , and Spines/SD
  20. Agile , Dodge , and Lucky are under sloted, ... Focus Fighting , Focus Senses , and Evasion are over sloted,... dont think it matters for the scaleing resists but it deffinately matters for your DDR,... i'd switch the basic heal IO's in health with the heal's from Numi and Miracle and add in either a heal/rech or a heal/endred from Numi for the +hp, 4 slot PShift in stam end, +end proc, end/acc, end/rech, ... and a good rule of thumb, unless your a regen or wp, you want stam as close to at lvl 20 as possible, and why the frell do you have flight slot'd in quickness and swift when your not a flyer?

    I'm looking to make a Phoenix-themed Fire/something scrapper

    [/ QUOTE ]

FM/FA ... RotP is the perfect theme compliment power, but just in general it is an awesome set, it boasts the highest burst damage in the game with stacking BU with FE which FE is about 3 times as potent with FM as it is with any other primary, the KB hole is extremely easy to cover, it's majorly an elemental damage type which is resisted alot less, but it is very damage centric as in mostly no damage side effects other than all DOT's, which is more damage, though it does tend to cause alot of "runners" which can bring the option of confront a'bit more viable (though still the most skipable), its got the damage aura for added AOE on top of everything else your doing and the tools in Healing Flames and Consume to keep you going...

really seems to be exactly what your looking for
  22. Morbid Star

    Rerolling

just be sure to sell off all the basics (SO's, IO's, ect...) pretty easy to do with a respec, and use that respec to collect up any of the good stuff you want to keep (HO's, Unique's, IO set's,Purples, ect...) may need a few respec's if you purp'd out or somthing, clear out and transfer your inventory (Vault, Auction House, ect...) use up all the ticket's, merit's, V-merit's, ect... that you may have... and either have a trusted friend help you with a transfer, or stock it up in community base bin's that you'll have access to on other toons, or use a second account, ect...

no sense in puting all that work you already put into it all to waste
  23. hmmm, wishlist i guess...

i think QR should get an innate -end debuff resist
i think FH should get an innate -regen debuff resist
i think Integration should get -regen debuff resist
i think Resilence should get innate -recharge debuff resist
    ...
also i'd like to see a fix in Recon so that +heal bonuses actually effect it, either move the tox resist in it to somewhere like Integration or find a way for it to work as is
    ...
i'd also like to see Integration fit'd with a fear protection, and i'll comment on this with pop culture refferances as examples,... take for example the tv show HEROES, i'm sure we can all agree that the charractor Clair Bennet is a */regen, and it is clearly shown that she is constantly pushing herself up and over the edge even to the point of killing herself over and over, it's evident that the innate sense of self preservation, i.e. fear, is not prevelent in a regenerator, it may be a morbid point of view, but when pain and death is removed from the equation, that what does not kill you makes you stronger, so to speak. another example the Marvel charractor Madcap is shown to have been driven insane by the fact that that nothing can kill him, and again constantly "tests" it by trying, like sticking a pen through his eyeball into his brain just because he's bored. another example, the Marvel charractor Wolverine, 'nuff said.

i'd also like for someone to explain an actual themeactically sound reasoning of why regen gets KB pro and resist, and FA and DA dont,... thematically i can see FA geting it by melting into the ground underfoot and in a sense melding with it, and DA geting it by just extending its nether tentacle underfoot into the ground,... by i can't exactly fathom why regen get's it.

anyways, just a few thoughts as i see it IMHO
  24. Morbid Star

    Build me a DM/SD

actually Teleport is a very good choice, since all four powers in it can be sloted with BotZ's
  25. i'm not an expert on the subject but in general, the concept is better for a brute simply for the fact that they get Tanker resist cap's and not scrappers,... the regen option isnt really a concern for an SR as your not going to be hiting the rates where it'll alter it all that much at all quickly enough for it to matter,... i'm not sure but as it seems, when your in the red your pretty close if not already cap'd resists, so as such, tough will go a long way with most enemies before and even at that point i'd imagine
