Hey all,
Here is a little more info for those of you who have already picked up the SuperBooster II:Magic, or those who havent picked it up but are thinking about it.
SuperBooster II:Magic contains a number of amazing new emotes, giving your character the ability to juggle and perform card tricks. These emotes are incredible, and describing them doesnt do them justice, so if you dont already have the SuperBooster find someone who does and make them show you what they look like!
Here are the emotes:
<ul type="square">[*]Emote Juggle or Emote JuggleBalls[*]Emote JuggleMagic [*]Emote JuggleFire [*]Emote JuggleElectricity [*]Emote MagicCards or Emote CardTrick
Also check out Mantids Animated Emote Guide -

Unfortunately the cure for necro-posting is thread lock.

Ex,
I want to say how thankful I am to the leadership you have shown and the mentoring you have offered me. I have grown a great deal professionally while working with you, and will miss you greatly.
Can I haz ur stuff? -
2 quick points.
1) Comparing features in other games to CoH is directly against the Official Message Forum Rules and Guidelines. That makes my job hard, and it's 12:20am in CA, Easter Sunday, and I have a busy day ahead of me. Please be kind to moderators and don't break forum rules.
2) If you feel like there is any group in the game that deserves any kind of recognition, feel free to shoot me or Niv a pm about them.

Get out the shotguns folks, we've got a zombie infestation to deal with.

Please note that while it can be important to learn how to identify bad techniques so that your own arcs get better, that is quite different than openly attacking those who wrote something you dislike.
Good:
I was recently playing a mission and had to deal with a ff/nrg blast character. Wow that was frustrating, I'd hate to see a story full of those.
or
I enjoyed the start of the mission, because I found it humorous to be able to beat up satirical versions of a prolific forum poster. After defeating the 43rd black gargoyle however, it started to get a bit old and the mission had little else to recommend it, it seemed like a one trick pony. I could potentially enjoy the arc, but it would need to work on more than that one level.
Bad:
Arc: XXXXX really sucked. The person who wrote it should be put in the stocks in atlas park.
I hate the stories that Mod08 writes. God he can't ever remember to not include the apostrophe when using "it's" as a possessive. Lets all go 1 star his arc so that he goes and kills himself.
Poster XXXX's global name is @XXXX. Since he posted this offensive thing, lets go nuke his arcs.
ArcID: XXXXX is just terrible. The author can't design costumes at all.
Edit:Not including identifying information is definitely recommended.
The Message Forum Rules and Guidelines definitely apply to this thread and these sorts of discussions.
Thanks, -

All North American Live and Test servers are still down for maintenance and publish of Issue 14: Architect.
To find out more about Issue 14: Architect please read the release notes here.
We apologize for any inconvenience to your play schedules, but look forward to bringing you this exciting new Issue!
Thanks for your patience! -
I don't see this going anywhere good. So let's let it gradually sink on the drifting waves of the Screenshots and Fan Art forum. By that I mean I am locking it.

Unfortunately this thread is in a violation of a number of the Official Message Forum Rules and Guidelines, and as such I'm forced to lock it.
I do sincerely hope that all parties involved receive the resolution they are looking for, I can only imagine how frustrating this must be. That being said, the CoH forums are a poor place to do this in many regards, both because of our rules and our obligations.

Now everyone get out and draw something almost scandalous, so it can be reported and I'll have an excuse to sit around at work looking at art (I keed I keed) -
I think it is definitely doable, although probably not at speed. Basically need enough player buffs to replicate enhancements, which is non trivial to obtain but nowhere near impossible.
-
Thanks for the invite, I had a great time!
That being said, 2 little corrections:
1) I was not the only one to die, so reports of my demise(s) are being greatly exaggerated
2) When starting a ITF, it is not recommended that you buff the mobs, debuff the players, and turn off enhancements. -
Wish her a Happy B-Day from those of us on the Community team!

Flagging as mature is enough. It's an implicit click in my book. Thanks for being responsible about it.

Hey All,
There have been a number of questions on the boards about the Devs Choice program and obtaining The Chosen One badge. Weve decided to release a little more information to clear up some of the misconceptions about this program and give players some valuable advice on how to get their missions noticed.
Devs Choice is a way for us to recognize stories that represent what the Mission Architect can do best. Those stories are personally selected for Devs Choice based on the feedback from the Development Team and they are great for those looking for a fun mission to play.
So what do we consider when choosing between stories when deciding which should be selected for Devs choice?
<ul type="square">[*]We found the arc thoroughly enjoyable to play. [*]We want to share that experience with others. [*]The arc found a balance between fun gameplay and a decent story. [*]Theres no apparent way to exploit the missions.
Having your story selected for Devs Choice is beneficial in a number of ways. Devs Choice stories do not count against your total published arcs. If you have three published arcs and one of them gets turned into Devs Choice, you will be able to publish a fourth. If one of those three arcs gets flagged as Devs Choice, you will be able to publish a fifth, and so on. These stories visually stand out in the Mission Browser, and Players can filter specifically for Devs Choice content. Of course, the creator of a mission selected for Devs Choice gets the rare and coveted The Chosen One badge.
Please note that because Devs Choice stories are hand picked by the Developers, we want to ensure that the caliber of their content persists. To that end, we lock the story permanently on our Arc Server, preserving it in its chosen state. This does not mean that you cant change or update your story if you decide to do so after it has been selected. However, you will have to republish this story as a second story, without the Devs Choice standing. The original story that was chosen for Devs Choice will still be available to everyone.
The final question is How do I get my story selected by the Developers? One of the things weve noticed while on the Training Room is that certain stories begin to build a buzz. Players talk about them in the chat window, posts start to appear on the forums, the Community takes notice and as such, the Developers take interest. We talk about them in between meetings and over lunch. When we log in to play, we look for these stories weve heard about. When we play them and they fill the criteria for what we believe to be the Best of Architect, we mark it as such. Devs Choice missions will be chosen like this, organically. But to give you some guidelines of things that can help you get noticed, we recommend the following:
<ul type="square">[*]Get people to play your story offer to play their story in exchange. [*]Humbly solicit feedback and implement changes based off of what other players are saying about your content. [*]Play, rate and comment on others stories, this helps build a community of authors. [*]And finally there will be a forum thread called Devs Choice: For Your Consideration where players can post arcs they think should be considered for Devs Choice. The two guidelines being, you cant promote your own arc (thatll likely happen in some other forum somewhere else) and you cant disagree with anyone elses suggestion (again, thatll happen in some other thread).
We would also like to add that our French and German players will indeed be included in this program. Their stories will be reviewed by a team of French and German natives and the same criteria will be taken into account for the Devs Choice status and the corresponding The Chosen One badge to be awarded.
So that is the Devs choice program. As you can see, it is fairly simple and straightforward; we wanted a chance to reward those who write good stories and a way to point them out to everyone as content that is reliably high quality. Were very excited about MA and cant wait to see what you will do with it!

Folks,
Recently I have noticed a rise in the tendency of posters to respond to suggestions or ideas presented by other users with /*name* as a shorthand for stating that they do not like or agree with the suggestion or idea. This type of posting is not acceptable and is a violation of the Message Forum Rules and Guidelines:
From the Message Forum Rules and Guidelines
[ QUOTE ]
5. Non-Constructive posts are prohibited.
Below is a list of examples of non-constructive posts. As a rule, non-constructive posting is not permitted.- [*] Spam is considered to be repetitive posting of the same topic or text or nonsensical posts that have no substance and are often designed to annoy other forum users.
[*] Bumping posts in order to keep them near the top of the list is also prohibited. Likewise, the use of "/signed" posts are discouraged in that it doesnt engender constructive discussion.
[*] Do not create threads/posts to petition or Lobby for game features, additions, changes, or other issues. You may post suggestions and/or ideas to the boards, but you may not create a petition for others to sign. This is bumping in disguise and will not be allowed. Lobbying is continually bringing up the same topic repeatedly in numerous different threads or as an off-topic post in official threads to get developer attention. This form of posting is not permitted.
From wikipedia:
[ QUOTE ]
Morality (from the Latin moralitas "manner, character, proper behavior") has three principal meanings.
In its first, descriptive usage, morality means a code of conduct which is held to be authoritative in matters of right and wrong. Morals are created by and define society, philosophy, religion, or individual conscience.
[/ QUOTE ]
Emphasis of course mine
I'm not particularly interested in morals (professionally at least), I enforce rules which are completely separate although we can infer that those who created the rules were influenced by their personal moral code.
Which sucks because I like seeing the art and I keep myself logged out of DA at work to help me determine if people are adhering to the "two-click minimum".
I am a big fan of your style, I'll just have to wait till I get home to see this piece. -
Glad you decided not to delete it. I like the pic, very nice!

Well I can only imagine what I'm going to tell the girlfriend at dinner when she asks me how work went today.
"Oh I had to lock this thread that had to do with adult comics, claims of plagiarism, and hoofed mammals"
"What have you been looking at at work?!?!?!"
For the record putting a URL in text is the equivalent of linking to it.
I can't see any benefit in continuing this discussion. Locked. -
Folks,
Locking this post before it attempts to eat all our brains. Remember, only you can prevent zombie outbreaks.
