Personal attacks are NOT a waste of time... early in your career.

Agreed. Heck, I had both my first and second p-attacks during CoV beta.

Got rid of them real quick though :P

3. The Bat is copyright. We gonna git sued!

It'd be like...

-Bats-
1) Throw Bat
1) Bat Patrol (Summons 1-3 small, angry bats)
2) Throw Two Bats
6) Equip Bats (With baseball bats)
8) Throw A Lot of Bats
12) The Man Bat (Summons 1-2 living baseball bats)
18) Belfry (Summons bat horde...our wings will blot out the sun!)
26) Summon Cowl Guy (Summons an overweight basement dweller in black spandex)
32) Little League (Equips bats with baseball helmets)

-Tarps-
1) Tarp (Like Ice Slick. Except...not slick...mostly for show)
2) Wet Tarp (This one's slick. Better than that one^)
4) Picnic Tarp (Gradual regen. Very filling. Chance to get overrun by ants)
10) Acid Tarp (Induces vomiting, even to yourself)
16) Construct Tarp Cottage (+DEF, immobile, easily smashed)
20) Fish Tarp (For filleting, bonus damage to fish [I'm comin for ya Barracuda!])
28) Choking Hazard (Tarp Garrote, strangles one foe. No effect on robots)
35) Tarp Mine (Tarp is a rare mineral. Digs a hole, where you find money!)
38) Detonation (Throw tarp on foe, light it on fire. Caution: Highly flammable!)

We'll need a new emote. Running away waving your hands trying to protect your head.

Oomph. everything else looks good.

Having Combustion in Fire Assault is bad enough. Shadow Maul = Immobility for slightly over three seconds, High DoT damage, tight cone...bleah.

VS is one of the more amusing ways to grief yourself with the Electric Blast set. There's a reason there's so much back and forth about it on the forums (Mixed amongst the back and forthing regarding Electric Blast in general)...

I'd suggest going more for something that looks like a Nictus (Floating, black ball of fluff), that fires Dark Blast and Gloom. It'd do decent damage, instead of "is this worth it or not" damage...

Granted, VS is good against single targets.

Wait...not this discussion again! *runs*

Yes, you're playing with bad players. Or unlucky players. Or both! Usually, the only thing leaving the blast zone is runners, and they shouldn't get too far from Thugs, Mercs, or Bots (Ranged pets). Although many MMs don't opt for the "drop in unannounced" play-style.

But yeah, I can see the Bruiser causing mischief...when he isn't rock spamming everything...

Damage Bonuses

I kind of figured, it's a good AoE build, but has ranged attacks mixed in. Makes for good mixed bonuses and such.

Fiery Aura forces you into a Kill of be Killed mindset. Perfect for Scrappers <3

Lots of Recharge + RotP = Perfection!

Damage Bonuses

[ QUOTE ]
Little off subject, but how about max HP bonus for a Scrap without a +HP secondary? Best I've gotten is like 1800 with Accolades.

[/ QUOTE ]

I can pull slightly over 1800 without Accolades, just IOs, from Spines/Fiery Aura. The set takes a few moderate hits in other areas though...

I basically view +HP as a perk from slotting IOs in; Health bonus is in practically every set in one way or another.

Damage Bonuses

[ QUOTE ]
Dang... great damage bonuses. (Though those seem no go's for me =/)

[/ QUOTE ]

Keep in mind, the only purple in the set is Apoc, which is 4%

Losing that and working towards it, the rest of the sets cost a total of about 100m-150m

One LotG +Rech could cover everything but the purple

Scary no? <3
9. Miyabi

Damage Bonuses

And then there's THIS build, which I threw together last night for fun. Downside? No Fireball, RoF, or Breath on a Fire/Fire makes for some very heavy single-target functions. Oh well. Fire Sword circle is still win.

Only used one purple set (Gee, only, lol)

Oh, and it left some wiggle room too...

10. [ QUOTE ]
I used to say it has about the offensive power of an Empathy Defender.

[/ QUOTE ]

HAHA...hey...

:P

Midnight: It's an extra pew. Not really a pew pew, just one pew. It fires readily enough, so it's sort of like a "Sorry you didn't get a third basic attack, have this pet that randomly fires for you instead" sort of thing.

On the major up-side (In my opinion) is that VS can slot some very delicious IO sets :3
11. I view all personal attacks as a general waste of time. Maybe for pulling, but I have temp and veteran powers for that. Traps is pretty much the only MM secondary that could really edge someone into taking a personal attack, as Caltrops and Triage Beacon seem rather unpromising at first glance.

I use my drones to pull when I feel the need. Usually I just dive right in and remember to use them as the sparks fly...
12. I STILL say Power Boost replacing Conserve Power in both EA and ElA. EA would have a ghetto t9 at level 28 to help pave the way forward, and ElA would be able to drain more effectively, and couple PBoost with melee set secondary effects.

At least, "I" think it's a good idea...
13. I was being catty

My main blue-side is an Empath :P
14. [ QUOTE ]
Adding a pet to each of the Defender Epics Power Pools and fixing Vigilance so that it provides a reliable benefit and also provides it solo would most likely fix most of the disparities.

[/ QUOTE ]

Doing something so Vigilance is useful ALL the time, not simply SOME of the time, is needed.

Oh please no, on the pet. I'm already a full time babysitter on my Defender. I don't need fuel added to the fire...
15. Depends on if you want to plat first or second fiddle

As a Defender, you'll be following everyone else around, playing health bar whack-a-mole, switching between blasting and lots of buffing. You'll need to get used to slow soloing and pitiful damage.

As a Controller, you can shut down enemies. Mobs, bosses, whatever. Suddenly, you have defense, in your offense.

You'd probably have more fun with a Controller, to be honest. And this coming from someone who's first hero 50 was an Empathy/Dark Blast.
16. Rikti tickle until the swords come out ;_;
17. You're right

I never got that though. Broadswords vs Katana, 1hand vs 2hand. So...odd...

Then again, that allowed us to make Broadsword/Shield Scrappers so I guess it all works out in the end :Þ
18. [ QUOTE ]
A Scythe is an unwieldy, two handed weapon.

[/ QUOTE ]

So are Broadswords. Which we're getting.

I'll suggest a Scythe model for Broadswords. Just have to make sure the model is pointing the right direction.

Bring big sword down on enemy, full power
Ground shakes
Rocks/shrapnel go flying
Enemy falls over dead
Dislodge sword from ground and enter fighting stance
21. If you go Traps, be prepared to take almost the entire set.

You can single-handedly shut down just about anything. Between Acid Mortar and Poison Trap, you cripple entire groups. Seekers, Webnade, and Caltrops keep them from running (And trapped in the Assault Bot's fire patches). Triage Beacon is your "Get off my lawn" campy trap. THEN you get Force Field Generator to top it all off.

I opted for the TeamTP and drop in on groups in Bodyguard mode. BG>TP>TrapSpam. You can also play the 'hang back and laser light show' game.

I don't have experience with Bots/Dark, but I would imagine it plays the hang back game rather well, with Twilight Grasp, +DEF, and ToHit debuffs. You'll need Howling Twilight and Twilight Grasp to slow down regen (Why would you pass up Howling though? It's amazing...)

Why not Dark Blast?

It's too control-ee?

Dark Pit and TT? I don't get the argument of "it smears minions"

Everything smears minions. A Brute, Scrapper, or Blaster sneezes, and two-thirds of the population on the ITF falls over dead.

1) Add damage to Dark Pit
2) Proliferate!
3) ????
4) Profit!

Next!
23. My EM/ElA uses Fences>PSink as her opener, and Lightning Field to keep them down. Single target she also has Mu Lightning to slap them with another -10%

The armor alone works very well for end drain. It doesn't suffer from Electric Blaster-itis in that it actually mitigates damage and keeps you alive, whereas an Ele/Ele or Ele/EM Blaster is risking it all to get in and drain.

Short Circuit would be nice in the set(s), and thematic. It'd also allow heavily single-target sets to have a PBAoE to work with. Power Boost would also be excellent in Conserve Power's place, allowing people to optionally build for secondary effects if they want.

Asking for additional health or regen might break the set into "oh god why" land and make it too powerful. Granted, I think every armor set should, in one way or another, live up to Granite in it's field of expertise. Right now, ElA and EA are good at drains, but they should honestly be BEST at drains, so much that it allows Tanks/Brutes to mitigate alpha. Scrappers can use the drains offensively to cripple large groups.

Endurance drain is a powerful tool, except against AVs/Heroes. Readjusting the set should be approached cautiously...
24. [ QUOTE ]
I think the most likely replacement (and good for Brutes as well) would be a Stamina clone.

[/ QUOTE ]

I'm going to reply to this without being snarky.

Power Sink makes every other endurance tool nearly pointless. Stamina, End Reductions in armor and attacks, and especially Conserve Power. Replacing one endurance tool with another is a waste of time, as Power Sink is the backbone of the set.

Phew. No snark, I think...
25. It gets ridiculed because it's unneeded. Power Sink, on its own, makes it such. THEN you factor in Stamina and Endurance Reduction enhancements, and it somehow reaches negative.

It's an excellent power. Just not on Electric Armor and Energy Aura.
