  1. Ok..I admit, I didnt really provide much info..cause I was pissed off at losing 5 toons loading into PO. lol
    1.5gig of ram, geforce 6800 ultra, amd 2.8. Oh and WinXp. All latest drivers for stuff

    Sadly nVidia video card obviously. And yes..I know the system aint great, but to go for no issues to this? When UM isnt on?

    Went to Freedom to play the new arcs on my MM. Get halfway into in, zone back out to Sharkhead. And its having one of those days where everyone in the zone is losing connection constantly. You know the one..that happens quite often..has been for years? Awesome. 10/10 for new arc Devs, but wanna hear how I feel about you all right now?

  2. My computer isnt the best...but it isnt the worst. Before i17, I could run things just fine of medium-ish details. I would not be the fastest loader on a team, nor the slowest. Lag now and again, nothing major.
    I also played with all sound OFF...and ran winamp in the background. I would also often alt-tab, open websites, have a movie going.
    Now..with PoS i17...I dont even have ultra mode turned on....and it has just crippled me. All loading times are way up..I cant get across any zone without stuttering a lot. Redside is even worse. As I mentioned in another thread, last night I could not laod into PO..on any server. I would just get booted back to the login.
    My drivers are all updated..everything is. On top of that, I can no longer run winamp in the background..if I try, the sound skips and jumps. But...if I alt-tab out of coh (so its still running, in the background)....winamp works just fine.
    How does this make any sense if I do not even run ultra mode? Nothing else has changed.

    Also...I saw another post talking about changing the Priority of tasks, in the task manager. I try this..and my cohexe is set to 'Below Normal' and I can not change it. Is that right?? A task taking up most of my computers resources..on below normal priority?

  3. I am getting the same thing..put in Port Oakes redside. Last night I could not laod into PO..on any server. The bar would get about halfway (taking up to 10 mins just for that) Then it would just boot me back to the logic screen, without even a message
  4. I have an SS shield brute..and was using the new ss animations after they came out. However, I used the toon today, and they are back to the old ones. I checked my costume, and its still set to the new ones. Yet if i have any shield powers on, it plays the old animations. Is this another cool bug, or have they removed the ability to have the new animations with shields full stop?
  5. I have a Bots/Storm and it is on of my best builds. I can take on 8 man spawns at +2/+3, and its no trouble. Quad pet procs, added to the def of the bubbles, mist, manu, makes them pretty unkillable. And once freezing rain goes down, and web nade, with a nice lightning storm in front of the mob, nothing lives beyond a few seconds.
    I dont team with it much..since the kb can annoy me, not to mention, no one gets to kill anything..lol. I generally use it to solo avs, and its a build that can beat 99% of anything you come across.
    I would recommend it over dark as a more...active secondary? Instead of slapping a debuff down and healing. Then again, bad points are you may get few team invites, if you admit your a bots/storm
  6. A friend and I were chatting the other day, and she asked if it was possible to get the pvp specific recipes via merits. I said it was not, but...

    It should be. Currently most of the pvp recipes are going for crazy amounts of cash. In a way this is ok, since they should not be too easy to get. However, as it stands, the only way I can imagine getting some of the sets is via constant farming, or buying money. For those people who do neither, there just is no way to get them. At least with other rares, like miracles, gamblers etc, you can get them in normal play, random roll them, or cash in merits.

    So, why can't we get pvp recipes this way? The chance to get pvp recipes is something like 1/300, and then you can’t get another chance for 5 mins. Factor in how many kill stealers there are, on both sides, not to mention silly people droning themselves, just to deny a recipe. Rep is currently worthless, so why not make rep convertible into a pvp merit type thing?

    Of course the excellent pvp ones, like panacea procs, +def, +res etc, should be worth at least 400 merits, at least. I know I would be much more inclined to pvp, and hit 400 rep, if at the end I knew I could trade it in for something shiny. It would get more people pvping, who want those nice things for their more pve toons, and hopefully reduce the prices at the markets. Maybe.

    Another thing I would like to see is PvP style task forces. Take every pvp setting we have, Dr, damage changes, heal decay, +res for squishes, mez durations..all of it, and have it apply for a TF. Apart from maybe travel sup, which could have people trowing computers through walls. The players aren’t the only ones who get the effects to, mobs do also. So those stupid paragon prots and their mog..no more! Of course it would be harder, and take some getting used to (such as a tank being mezzed taking the alpha every mob) but I think it would be something different. With maybe a new badge for some of the major TFs. Any thoughts, besides no way in hell?

    Oro Portal bug

    Sorry Tease..but it is not just on Numina TF. I should have said I have seen it doing other things also, sorry.
    I got the same bug on Sister Psy tf, on Leviathan SF, also got it just when i was mal'd down do missions with a friend of redside. Me and another friend got it while doing an Oro arc for a badge. We were mal'd to 20, finsihed and left the mission, then tried to summon Oro. It didnt work. We both quit the task force, and our oro's suddenly appeared.

    Oh yeah..forgot..try it yourself with an oro tf and see Tease? Im not hopefully..but it could be an occasional thing

    Oro Portal bug

    While doing Numina TF I noticed that when I tried to use my O portal, after or before missions, it would not work. The animation plays, the icon appears in my buff bar, but no portal will show up.
    However..if you leave a mission, while ex'd, and summon the portal BEFORE click the 'accept team lvl' thingy..it will summon normally.
    Now..I am getting rather tired of saying this but...did NO ONE on test try and report this bug? And to all those on test who did, and got ignored, I am sorry. I didn't try Test myself due to the fact last time I did..it somehow corrupted my installation.
    Considering how many people use Oro to get around, this is one more very annoying bug.
  9. Mmm ok Desum. That makes sense. Didn't know if it was actually the same specific thing or what. But there must be someway they can check we did it, since we got the normal badge and merits also. A different bug issue perhaps?
  10. Totally agree with Pum in his original and follow up posts. Since i16, I have run Hess, Katie and a Master Cuda SF...all by pure chance. And ALL THREE are bugged. All three! I did not mind much with the first bugged Hess mission...but the second, in exactly the same map? Come on.
    The katie one was also a pain. And while I am grateful at the GM in questions response time..I am not sure he really knew what he was doing. Of course, the issue may just have been even more bent that I though, in which case I apoligise to him.
    As the other posters have said..these kind of changes, ie Hess, are pretty certainly on purpose..yet we didnt know about them..so could n t test them.
    I come to this thread after finding one about the Bugged badge for Master of Cuda....which would have been an AWESOME issue to know about before I ran it.
    I also would suspect a Dev conspiracy..yet 2 of the bugged TFs are Hero ones...so that doesnt work.
    Anyway, good on you for the OP Pum, it was clear and logical.
    Now, back to waiting for my MoBSF badge
  11. Same thing for my team...SF done perfectly, no master badge. People who had not done the sf before got the normal badge..as others mentioned. I also dc'd at recluse, but saw the 'merits awarded; text before I did.
    It would really be super awesome fantastic if BS issues like this actually got acknowledge in the bug list. I don't feel like logging into the forums every time I decide to run a TF, just to check if there is some stupid bug making it not work, or, not give the badge.
    Anyway, I petitoned, and some people who didn't dc, got screenies of the mission complete thing.
    So what was teh average time it took for those of you who got the badge, to get it awarded? And did the ones who got that complete load of tripe about the server not recognising you did the tf, did you get it to?
  12. Same thing here..freedom laggy as hell, solo. Virtue, perfect.
    And as for the lovely bugs with i16...all I have to say is..I called it. When people were talknig about how fun teh new colors etc would be, I said that if they could manage to get an issue out, without huge bugs that affect everyone, I would be happy.
    Now lets see..no global, cant enter missions, what fun!
    Last issue (or whenever it was) we had the business with tells being lost almost constantly, now we cant get into maps? Gotta say, the bugs arent just consistent, then are getting better! Better at pissing everyone off that is.
    I would say excuse the cynical attitude, but after trying 5 times to enter one mission of freedom for the last hour, I feel im entitled to it.
    Oh, this just in! I logged into virtue, to try a mission..and dc'd, while standing in the midnight club..doing nothing! Weeee!

    Thanks for the replies Jade..I agree its very odd.
    especially, from a PvE point of view, the huge amount of psi users in missions, many of which are AoEs. And in PvP, all the Psi using hero at's.
    Sine EA was just buffed..its really worrying if they left this out on purpose.
  15. Mmm very odd. I right clicked on Hide and looked at what it was doing. It lists 1.88% (or whatever no.) def to smashing, 1.88 to lethal, 1.88 to..etc etc. The only thing missing was PSI def.

    Now I didnt actually check the combat atts, but the power info has no psi def in the list. If you look at the right click inof for power shield, you can see a +psi component, when pvp is toggled. But again..no +psi for hide

    I will have to go check it out in the combat atts now.
  16. Ok..this is more a rant than a question..since i assume things are this way cause the devs are, well, you know.

    The Hide power on energy aura for stalkers specifically states it does NOT give Psi defence? Does anyone know why this is? And why it would make even the tiniest bit of sense? Every other Hide, from the other sets, has Def to all. Not only that..every stealth power in the game (i think) is all defence to all.

    So why is EA singled out as having no psi in hide? I get it has no psi def from the main two toggles, im not arguing about that.

    EA's power shield toggle gives psi def in pvp also...so surely we would assume if the devs give psi def for that, just in a pvp zone..why doesnt Hide at least get a +psi def boost in pvp?

    If things like SR, elec and dark (both resist sets) get psi def in Hide..why not EA?
    Hell I dont even like ea that much!! But why?!
  17. I like sonic myself..and there is far too few of them villain side. For that reason alone I would try it..you will be most welcome in any team. I cant speak for elec blast, but the sonic siphons would help boost the damage...while power sink for a patron pick would assist sapping

  19. I really can't think of any underperforming sets. At all. Now of course that kinda defeats the purpose of posting in a thread ABOUT crappy sets..but.. I think that if you like a set, that means its performing.

    Who cares if it doesnt kill/mez/take damage like Powerset XXX? As long as your having fun, I am pretty certain you will play much better than if you used a set that DID perform, but you hated.

    I happen to have a grav/bubbles troller, and a sonic fender, two sets that seem to cop a lot of grief here. As modest as it sounds, i totally rock on both. I find no trouble locking stuff down with my 'low on control-ish' grav, and as for sonic..yeah, making a team have capped resits to 95% of damage types..that sucks? Right? Every stf i have done with my sonic has been a master...apart from when some idiot ran off alone and died.

    As someone else on this thread said..it is the player that makes the build under perform, and some players just arent cut out for certain AT types.

    To agree with some other posters..its good theres so few sets viewed as under performing.

    Now, post some more people..I am enjoying this thread.
  20. I know this has been covered before..but I am getting two different opinions and hoped to resolve it.
    My MM is bots/storm.
    Can I slot the rech pet set uniques into my tornado, and have them buffing my NORMAL pets? ie, have the def bonus stacking? And if so, do I have to have the tornado summoned or is it always on?
    Any help would be spiffy

  22. I like those SF ideas. CoV needs some more. I would not mind seeing a carnie SF. After all, fortunes wheel in ST Marts in basically a carnie stronghold. Let’s have us helping Vanessa cause some trouble.

    I also think they should make the Shadow Shard a co-op zone and have all those tfs co-op also. Just removed all those 'go to atlas and kill cot boss' type missions to a portal in the shard etc. This would give vills not only more sfs, but also another few zones..which already exist. (On that topic..a shard arena map please)

    I agree with VBs thought on the merit system..it’s just out of whack.
    Example.

    Achilles Heel -res proc..they were/are about 200-800k, hero side. They are about 2-5 mil villain side. Yet they are..250 merits. How is that balanced and thought out in any way? I have 2-4 of these procs on some toons..that's 500+ merits.

    On my way to lvl 50, i made about..300 merits, doing almost every arc in the game. That is just a ludicrous amount when you consider that a SO costs 8 merits...meaning you would need around 500 merits just to SO a toon at lvl 50.
